• Programatically clicking a HTML button by vb.net [closed]

  I have to click a HTML button programatically which is on the 3rd page of the website. The button is without id. It has just name type and value. • .net- open excel file, format the file and save

  I have an ASP web service that uses the Crystal Reports API to download an Excel report. Now, there is a few things I do not like about the Excel report that Crystal generates: - The column widths are static (as in they are not adjusted for the content). - I can't format the header row to be bold - If I suppress a data column in the report, it comes out in the Excel spreadsheet as a blank column. I currently use PHP to open the excel file, autosize the columns, bold the heading and remove blank columns, although using the PHPExcel class for this doesn't work well when the spreadsheet is only a few 100kb in size. I am thinking if I move this activity into the .NET web service, the performance will be much better. Does anyone know an efficient way of opening a Excel file and performing the operations listed above?

  By complex I don't mean more difficult but including a larger area of possibilities cover. I've started a few years ago with PHP and the transition from learning the syntax of the language and the basic logical structures to working with databases, including JavaScript and so on was very short. And now I'm more interested in studying working with languages like Java/C#. Recently I spend a lot of time reading and writing some simple console applications, I've read almost 2K pages for C# programming and still don't know how to connect to database for example. Just for info I'm interested in web development, socket programing and live streaming, don't know if I'm exceeding myself too much writing that but despite that I want to find some books/internet sources where I can extend my current knowledge of C#/.NET, start using database queries, maybe try something more complicated webwise.

  Im familiar with asp.net web forms. I would now like to move on to writing web applications that use AJAX. I would like to get to the stage where I can create an app: that has "edit in place" (no page reload) where i can reorder images using drag and drop (also saves the order to DB) that has google like search suggestions while typing on the fly 1)So do I need to learn how to use AJAX.net and Jquery(my JS library of choice)? Can I make do using only AJAX.net or only Jquery? 2)As far a I know, Jquery will allow me to perform client side manipulations/actions and AJAX.net is the part that will allow me to connect some of my actions to the Server. EG. if I wanted to re-order elements using drag and drop, I would use Jquery, but in order to save the result of the re-order to the DB I would have to use AJAX.net correct? 2a)So In order to learn how to do the above Im thinking I should first learn Jquery so I know how to manipulate/ select elements, and then I can lean how to save these changes to the DB. 3)I searched the books titled "ASP.net AJAX in action" and ASP.net 3.5 AJAX, both of these books did not contain any references to "Jquery". Is this because they may be using a different JS library, or perhaps the book focuses on the AJAX user controls? I just found it confusing that 2 popular AJAX books dont make any reference to Jquery. There's a controls called TreeListView on codeproject (link text), but it's doesn't have some features I need. 1) I need a key on every node or somehow bind an object to the control. 2) I need to change node image(like in file systems - folders and files) 3) I need a CheckBox on every node 4) I need path and level of a node. • How do I pass a custom field to a hook (Invision Power Board [ipb] / PHP)

  A long shot but here's hoping someone has some experience coding PHP hooks for Invisions Power Board forum. I'm attempting to code a status addition and the PHP works fine on it's own, it's the passing of the IPB's reference to my hook that is the issue. I.E. You setup a custom field in your forum for MSN Username, then from within a skin / template hook you pass the custom field to the hook and then use your PHP code to check on the status. Here is the IPB skin code I am hooking into on Global-userInfoPane... <if test="authorcfields:|:$author['custom_fields'] != """> <foreach loop="customFieldsOuter:$author['custom_fields'] as $group => $data"> <foreach loop="customFields:$author['custom_fields'][ $group ] as $field"> <if test="$field != ''"> <li> {$field} </li> </if> </foreach> </foreach> </if> Although I could easily add my own skin hook here. i.e. <if test="myHookHere:|:1===1"></if> Literally all I need is a single custom field entry from here passed to my hook. If I query every member when the hook is run then that will result in many extra sql queries per page view. All I want to do is pass that specific custom field to the hook... i.e. myHookHere( $customfield['msn_username'] ) Is this possible? How do you reference the customfield? Can I execute pure PHP from here? Appreciate anyone that can help! I tried the official invision forums but not had much luck.

  Hello. I'm playing a little bit with the new StackOverflow API. Unfortunately, my JSON is a bit weak, so I need some help. I'm trying to deserialize this JSON of a User: {"user":{ "user_id": 1, "user_type": "moderator", "creation_date": 1217514151, "display_name": "Jeff Atwood", ... "accept_rate": 100 }} into an object which I've decorated with JsonProperty attributes: [JsonObject(MemberSerialization.OptIn)] public class User { [JsonProperty("user_id", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual long UserId { get; set; } [JsonProperty("display_name", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual string Name { get; set; } ... } I get the following exception: Newtonsoft.Json.JsonSerializationException: Required property 'user_id' not found in JSON. Is this because the JSON object is an array? If so, how can I deserialize it to the one User object? Thanks in advance!

  I've long since built a way around this, but it still keeps bugging me... it doesnt help that my grasp of dynamic LINQ queries is still shakey. For the example: Parent has fields (ParentKey, ParentField) Child has fields (ChildKey, ParentKey, ChildField) Pet has fields (PetKey, ChildKey, PetField) Child has a foreign key reference to Parent on Child.ParentKey = Parent.ParentKey Pet has a foreign key reference to Child on Pet.Childkey = Child.ChildKey Simple enough eh? Lets say I have LINQ like this... Dim Q = FROM p in DataContext.Parent _ Join c In DataContext.Child On c.ParentKey = p.ParentKey Consider this a "base query" on which I will perform other filtering actions. Now I want to join the Pet table like this: Q = Q.Join(DataContext.Pet, _ Function(a) a.c.ChildKey, _ Function(p As Pet) p.ChildKey, _ Function(a, p As Pet) p.ChildKey = a.c.ChildKey) The above Join call doesnt work. I sort of understand why it doesnt work, but hopefully it'll show you how I tried to accomplish this task. After all this was done I would have appended a Select to finish the job. Any ideas on a better way to do this? I tried it with the PredicateBuilder with little success. I might not know how to use it right but it felt like it wasnt gonna handle the joining.

• Excel get_Range missing when interop assembly is embedded in .NET 4.0

  I build an assembly referencing a COM interop DLL. If I embed the COM interop types by setting Embed Interop Types to True in the Reference's properties (VS2010), at run-time an error occurs "object does not contain a definition for get_Range". If COM interop types are not embedded then no error occurs. Does anyone know why a particular method, Worksheet.get_Range should be ommitted or how to work around this or have any other relevant insights? I should be grateful for any help. The interop dll contains a reference to Worksheet.get_Range(object, [object]). Using reflector on my calling assembly there is no mention of get_Range under Worksheet. The interop assembly I am embedding is generated from Excel9.olb. I am not using PIAs as the application targets multiple Excel versions.

  While setting up CruiseControl, I added a buildpublisher block to the publisher tasks: <buildpublisher> <sourceDir>C:\MyBuild\</sourceDir> <publishDir>C:\MyBuildPublished\</publishDir> <alwaysPublish>false</alwaysPublish> </buildpublisher> This works, but it copies the entire file contents of the build, I only want to copy the DLL's and .aspx pages, I don't need the source code to get published. Does anyone know of a way to filter this, or do I need to setup a task to run a RoboCopy script instead?

  I'm trying out the Rijndael to generate an encrypted license string to use for our new software, so we know that our customers are using the same amount of apps that they paid for. I'm doing two things: Getting the users computer name. Adding a random number between 100 and 1000000000 I then combine the two, and use that as the license number(This probably will change in the final version, but I'm just doing something simple for demonstration purposes). My code works as intended I'm just trying to see if there is a manner in which I didn't have a lot of replicated code. • Having trouble with instantiating objects in PHP & Ajax custom shopping cart

  This is my first time playing with both ajax and objects, so please go easy on me I have 3 pages that make up the tester shopping cart. 1) page with 'add' 'remove' buttons and ajax code to call the PHP functions on page 2. this is the actual user page with the HTML output. 2) page with PHP cart function calls, receives $_GET requests from ajax on page 1 and calls functions of the cart object from page 3, returns results to page 1. 3) page with cart object definition. Here's the problem I believe I'm having. Currently I have 'session_start()' on pgs 1 & 2, and the cart definition (pag 3) on pgs 1 & 2. I only define '$_SESSION[cart]= new Cart' on page 2. However, it seems like each time i hit an ajax function (eg each time pg 2 reloads) it seems like it's rewriting $_SESSION['cart'] over again, thus it's always empty at each new click (even tho it displays results of that click) However, if i don't define '$_SESSION[cart] = new Cart' on pg 2, i get an error: Fatal error: main() [function.main]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "Cart" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded before unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /home3/foundloc/public_html/booka/carti.php on line 17 Any suggestions? How can i stop re-creating my cart each time my page 2 (php cart function page) is called by ajax?

• Unexpected result in .NET 4 DirectoryInfo.EnumerateFiles(string)

  It seems that the following code is not working as expected. I would assume that the following call to EnumarateFiles would only return files that match the filename pattern of c* ... however, filenames with H* are still getting returned. For example... the following file will get deleted in the following code (HNNN09060900932.xml). What's the issue? • Adding new record to a VFP data table in VB.NET with ADO recordsets

  I am trying to add a new record to a Visual FoxPro data table using an ADO dataset with no luck. The code runs fine with no exceptions but when I check the dbf after the fact there is no new record. The mDataPath variable shown in the code snippet is the path to the .dbc file for the entire database. A note about the For loop at the bottom; I am adding the body of incoming emails to this MEMO field so thought I needed to break the addition of this string into 256 character Chunks.   Here's the code that I use to extract the icon size that I want: Dim i As Icon = My.Resources.Spectrum Using i2 As New Icon(i, New Size(256, 256)) Me.PictureBox1.Image = i2.ToBitmap End Using This works from 16x16 up to 128x128 but for 256x256 it extracts the 128x128 icon. I tried 0x0, because I seem to remember that that is how the large size is stored in the meta data, but that didn't work either.

  Hi Folks Basically for my webapp I'm trying to organise it a bit better. As it at the moment, every time I want to load a page, I have to do it from my controller like so: $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view('The-View-I-Want-To-Load'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); As you can tell it's not really very efficient. So I thought I'd create one 'master' view - It's called template.php. This is the contents of the template view: <?php $view = $data['view']; $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view($view); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); ?> And then I thought I'd be able to call it from a controller like this: $data['view'] = 'homecontent'; $this->load->view('template',$data); Unfortunately I simply cannot make this work. Does anyone have any ways around this or fixes I can put into place? I've tried putting ""s and ''s around $view in template.php but that makes no difference. The usual error is "Undefined variable: data" or "Cannot load view: $view.php" etc. Thanks folks! Jack

• PHP session_write_close() causes empty response

  When using session_write_close() in a shutdown function at the end of my script - PHP just dies. There is no error logged, response headers (firebug), or data (even whitespace!) returned. I have full PHP error reporting on with STRICT enabled and PHP 5.2.1. My guess is that since session_write_close() is being called after shutdown - some fatal error is being encountered that crashes PHP before it has a chance to send the output or log anything. This only happens on the logout page where I first: ... //If there is no session to delete (not started) if ( ! session_id()) { return; } // Get the session name $name = session_name(); // Delete the session cookie (if exists) if ( ! empty($_COOKIE[$name])) { //Get the current cookie config $params = session_get_cookie_params(); // Delete the cookie from globals unset($_COOKIE[$name], $_SESSION); //Delete the cookie on the user_agent setcookie($name, '', time()-43200, $params['path'], $params['domain'], $params['secure']); } // Destroy the session session_destroy(); ... then 2) do some more stuff 3) issue a redirect and 4) finally, after the whole page is done the register_shutdown_function(); I placed earlier runs and calls session_write_close() which saves the session to the database. The end. Since this blank response only occurs on logout I'm guessing that I'm not restarting the session properly which is causing session_write_close() to die fatally at the end of the script.

  Hi, I'm fairly new to objective-c, and am looking to pass a number of key-value pairs to a PHP script using POST. I'm using the following code but the data just doesn't seem to be getting posted through. I tried sending stuff through using NSData as well, but neither seem to be working.   Hello... I just go the answer on how to pass a generic delegate as a parameter. Thanks for the help. Now I need to know how to ASSIGN the delegate to another delegate declarartion. How can I ASSIGN Getter = G When I try Getter = g 'I get too few type arguments compile error. When I try Getter(Of TResult) = g 'I get Getter is a type and cannot be used as an expression. (I've added instantation vars (classname, propertyname) to the attribute, however I'd rather have these automatically fetched ofcourse.)
