  • Help with Linked Server Error

    - by Randy Minder
    In SSMS 2008, I am trying to execute a stored procedure in a database on another server. The call looks something like the following: EXEC [RemoteServer].Database.Schema.StoredProcedureName @param1, @param2 The linked server is set up correctly, and has both RPC and RPC OUT set to true. Security on the linked server is set to Be made using the login's current security context. When I attempt to execute the stored procedure, I get the following error: Msg 18483, Level 14, State 1, Line 1 Could not connect to server 'RemoteServer' because '' is not defined as a remote login at the server. Verify that you have specified the correct login name. I am connected to the local server using Windows Authentication. Anyone know why I would be getting this error?

  • Prevent password leakage while using sql* loader

    - by Jai
    I have shell script calling Sql*loader utility which inturn uses username/password as arguments. This details cannot be stored on server in any form due to security related policies. i got 2 approaches to handle this situation, 1. create hidden parameter file with login details and limit the access to owner. again the implication is i cannot store login data in any format on server 2. Create the user as OS authenticated and straight away login into sql without any userid/password I am not able to figure out risks involved in 2nd approach which u experienced folks could have come across. let me know if there is any other approach to handle password leakage issue

  • Order by nullable property simultaneously with ordering by not nullable property in HQL

    - by Episodex
    Hi, I have a table called Users in my database. Let's assume that User has only 3 properties int ID; string? Name; string Login; If user doesn't specify his name then Login is displayed. Otherwise Name is displayed. I wan't to get list of all users sorted by what is displayed. So if user specified Name, it is taken into consideration while sorting, otherwise his position on the list should be determined by Login. Eventually whole list should be ordered alphabetically. I hope I made myself clear... Is that possible to do in HQL?

  • How do I persist form data across an "access denied" page in Drupal?

    - by Michael T. Smith
    We're building a small sub-site that, on the front page, has a one input box form that users can submit. From there, they're taken to a page with a few more associated form fields (add more details, tag it, etc.) with the first main form field already filled in. This works splendidly, thus far. The problem comes for users that are not logged in. When they submit that first form, they're taken to a (LoginToboggan based) login page that allows them to login. After they login, they redirect to the second form page, but the first main form field isn't filled in -- in other words, the form data didn't persist. How can we store that data and have it persist across the access denied page?

  • Use default credentials in order to call DirectoryEntry

    - by Copeleto
    Hi, I am working in a Login page and teh logic is like - try { DirectoryEntry LDAPLogin = new DirectoryEntry(ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings ["LDAPPath"].ToString(), Usuario, Txt_Contrasenia.Text.ToString()); if (LDAPLogin.NativeGuid != LDAPLogin.Name) ValidarGrupo(); } catch (Exception exc) { Label_Info.Text = "Sus credenciales no son validas: " + Usuario.ToString() + " " + exc.Message; } If the user enters the rights credentials I call a method ValidarGrupo that implements a lookup in the AD for a group of the user I would like to replace the username and password with UseDefaultCredentials in order to avoid that the user has to enter the username and password and the Login pages use the credentials of the user that is login on the machine.

  • How can I disable multiple links with jQuery?

    - by Samantha J
    I have the following HTML: <a title="Login" data-href="/MyAccount/Access/Login" data-title="Admin" data-entity="n/a" id="loginLink" class="nav-button dialogLink"><b>Login</b></a> <a title="Register" data-href="/MyAccount/Access/Register" data-title="Admin" data-entity="n/a" id="registerLink" class="nav-button dialogLink"><b>Register</b></a> When a user clicks on the #loginLink or #registerLink I would like to disable the link and call a dialog script. I created the following function: $("#loginLink, #registerLink") .click(function () { $('#loginLink').prop('disabled', true); $('#registerLink').prop('disabled', true); dialog(this); }); It calls the dialog correctly but doesn't disable the links and if I click the buttons more than once it calls up more than one dialog box. Is there something I am doing wrong? I can't see why it would not work.

  • Session timeout issue

    - by Kumar
    I have a role based ASP.NET C# web application in which I am putting the menu object inside a session and I have a session timeout configured in the web.config as below: <forms defaultUrl="Home.aspx" loginUrl="Login.aspx" name=".ASPXFORMSAUTH" timeout="10"></forms> I first logged into the system as an employee and waited until the session expires and then when I click a link in the menu I am being rightly redirected to the login page with the ReturnUrl parameter. Now when I try to login to the system as an administrator I am still seeing the employee menu and not the admin menu. The method which loads the menu 1st checks to see if the menu session object is not null if so loads the menu from the session if not then it builds the menu and put it into session. So when the system timesout the menu session object is not being cleared. How can I fix this?

  • SAML Authentication Portal

    - by Alvin Jones
    I'd like to develop a portal similar to what a company like OneLogin (http://www.onelogin.com/) has: The user would login with their login credentials then have links to the web resources that their account is associated with. When they see their resources all they need to do is click on them and they'll be automatically login in (SAML authentication). Are there any open source projects out there that have started on this effort? It would be great if there was something that we could use as a base to build on top of with a friendly license (e.g. MIT). Thanks

Now when I install my application on an Windows XP machine using an Administrator login. If I run my application using that administrator's login it works well but when I tried to run my application using a normal users login on that machine it fails. Now is any kind of permission is required for All Users folder on Windows XP machine. If yes then from where I can set that permission.

  • Java: JAX-WS passing authentication info to a call to webservice

    - by agnieszka
    I am using JAX-WS. I am connecting to .NET webservice that requires authentication. I first call the Authentication.asmx so that I can be authenticated. The call returns me a LoginResult that contains a cookie name. Then I call another webservice and I need to somehow pass this cookie or a cookie name. and I don't know how. Here is the code: //first service that returns login information Authentication auth = new Authentication(new URL("the_url"), new QName("http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/", "Authentication")); LoginResult result = auth.getAuthenticationSoap().login(HTTPuserName, HTTPpassword); //i need to pass cookie or cookie name or any other login information to call to this service Copy copyService = new Copy(new URL("service_url"), new QName("http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/", "Copy")); BindingProvider p = (BindingProvider) copyService.getCopySoap();

    - by Simon

I don't know enough about headers etc... is this possible... can anyone link an example... by search skills just turned up how to use $_POST... Thanks...

  • Send HTTP Post with default browser with C#

    - by Paul
    Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to send POST data with the default browser of a computer in C#. Here is the situation. My client would like the ability to have their C# application open their browser and send client information to a webform. This webform would be behind a login screen. The assumption from the application side is that once the client data is sent to the login screen, the login screen would pass that information onto the webform to prepopulate it. This would be done over HTTPS and the client would like this to be done with a POST and not a GET as client information would be sent as plain text. I have found some wonderful solutions that do POSTS and handle the requests. As an example http://geekswithblogs.net/rakker/archive/2006/04/21/76044.aspx So the TL;DR version of this would be 1) Open Browser 2) Open some URL with POST data Thanks for your help, Paul

  • Windows GUI application when user is not logged in?

    - by Tiax
    I've written a Autoit script that starts a GUI application, when the application starts there is a login form. The scripts fills the login form and tries to log in. Then it records the time it took to login to the application and shuts the application down afterwards, writes a output file with the time it took. The thing is, I can't get the application to start unless Im logged in as the user the Scheduled task is running on. So my question is: Is there any way to start a GUI application even though the user isn't logged in? Or is the only way to have a user always logged in?

  • Session management with OpenID, in ASP.NET

    - by Andreas Grech
    I am currently playing with DotNetOpenAuth to make an ASP.NET (C#) website use OpenID instead of the normal login-password routine for user and session handling. Up till now, I have added the DotNetOpenAuth.dll into my project and tried a test login page with the following: <rp:OpenIdLogin ID="OpenIdLogin1" runat="server" /> When I run the page, I enter a valid myopenid url and the website redirects to the myopenid page, where I enter my password, and upon success, it returns back to my default.aspx, due to the following in my web.config: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms defaultUrl="/Default.aspx" loginUrl="~/Login.aspx"/> </authentication> Now that the user is "logged in", how can handle my session? At the moment, I don't know how I can, for example, check if the session is still alive or how to terminate the session. My basic question is, how can I manage the session once the user is authenticated with OpenID ?

  • Session caching problem

    - by Levani
    I have a strange problem with php sessions. I use them for authorization on my site. I store two variables - currently logged in user's id and username in session. When I log in with one username, than log out and log in again with another username the previous user's id is returned using the session variable instead of the current user. The most strange thing is that this happens only when it comes to insert some data into database. When I directly echo this variable the correct id is displayed, but when I insert new record into database this variable sends incorrect id. Here is the php code I use for sending data into database: <?php session_start(); //connect database require_once 'dbc.php'; $authorID = $_SESSION['user_id']; if ( $authorID != 0 ) { $content = htmlentities($_POST["answ_content"],ENT_COMPAT,'UTF-8'); $dro = date('Y-m-d H:i:s'); $qID = $_POST["question_ID"]; $author = 'avtori'; $sql="INSERT INTO comments (comment_ID, comment_post_ID, comment_author, comment_date, comment_content, user_id) VALUES (NULL, '$qID', '$author', '$dro', '$content', '$authorID')"; $result = mysql_query($sql); } else { echo 'error'; } ?> Can anyone please help? Here is the logout function: function logout() { global $db; session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['user_id']) || isset($_COOKIE['user_id'])) { mysql_query("update `users` set `ckey`= '', `ctime`= '' where `id`='$_SESSION[user_id]' OR `id` = '$_COOKIE[user_id]'") or die(mysql_error()); } /************ Delete the sessions****************/ unset($_SESSION['user_id']); unset($_SESSION['user_name']); unset($_SESSION['user_level']); unset($_SESSION['HTTP_USER_AGENT']); session_unset(); session_destroy(); /* Delete the cookies*******************/ setcookie("user_id", '', time()-60*60*24*COOKIE_TIME_OUT, "/"); setcookie("user_name", '', time()-60*60*24*COOKIE_TIME_OUT, "/"); setcookie("user_key", '', time()-60*60*24*COOKIE_TIME_OUT, "/"); header("Location: index.php"); } Here is the authentication script: include 'dbc.php'; $err = array(); foreach($_GET as $key => $value) { $get[$key] = filter($value); //get variables are filtered. } if ($_POST['doLogin']=='Login') { foreach($_POST as $key => $value) { $data[$key] = filter($value); // post variables are filtered } $user_email = $data['usr_email']; $pass = $data['pwd']; if (strpos($user_email,'@') === false) { $user_cond = "user_name='$user_email'"; } else { $user_cond = "user_email='$user_email'"; } $result = mysql_query("SELECT `id`,`pwd`,`full_name`,`approved`,`user_level` FROM users WHERE $user_cond AND `banned` = '0' ") or die (mysql_error()); $num = mysql_num_rows($result); // Match row found with more than 1 results - the user is authenticated. if ( $num > 0 ) { list($id,$pwd,$full_name,$approved,$user_level) = mysql_fetch_row($result); if(!$approved) { //$msg = urlencode("Account not activated.   • OAuth java implementation, oauth_callback missing

    - by l245c4l
    Hey, My problem is I get error while trying to get request token from Yahoo. The error says Im missing oauth_callback parameter and yes I miss it because I dont need it. Ive read I need to set it to "oob" value if I dont want to use it(desktop app). And I did that but to no avail. If I set it to null the same happens. Im using OAuth for java: http://oauth.googlecode.com/svn/code/java/core/ OAuthServiceProvider serviceProvider = new OAuthServiceProvider("https://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/get_request_token", "https://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/request_auth", "https://api.login.yahoo.com/oauth/v2/get_token"); OAuthConsumer consumer = new OAuthConsumer("oob", consumerKey, consumerSecret, serviceProvider); OAuthAccessor accessor = new OAuthAccessor(consumer); OAuthClient client = new OAuthClient(new HttpClient4()); OAuthMessage response = client.getRequestTokenResponse(accessor, OAuthMessage.POST, null); System.out.println(response.getBodyAsStream());

  • How do I secure all the admin actions in all controllers in cakePHP

    - by Gaurav Sharma
    Hello Everyone, I am developing an application using cakePHP v 1.3 on windows (XAMPP). Most of the controllers are baked with the admin routing enabled. I want to secure the admin actions of every controller with a login page. How can I do this without repeating much ? One solution to the problem is that "I check for login information in the admin_index action of every controller" and then show the login screen accordingly. Is there any better way of doing this ? The detault URL to admin (http://localhost/app/admin) is pointing to the index_admin action of users controller (created a new route for this in routes.php file) Thanks

  • undefined reference to function, despite giving reference in c

    - by Jamie Edwards
    I'm following a tutorial, but when it comes to compiling and linking the code I get the following error: /tmp/cc8gRrVZ.o: In function `main': main.c:(.text+0xa): undefined reference to `monitor_clear' main.c:(.text+0x16): undefined reference to `monitor_write' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [obj/main.o] Error 1 What that is telling me is that I haven't defined both 'monitor_clear' and 'monitor_write'.
