• iPhone PlayAndRecord silences all system audio??

  Hi, In my iPhone app I am trying to record audio and play iPod music at the same time, so I set the audio session category to kAudioSessionCategory_PlayAndRecord. But when I set this, all system audio (including vibrate) doesn't work anymore, although the iPod audio still does work. Does anyone know if this is a bug in the SDK or something, or how to get around it? Please help! Thanks in advance!

  I saw something about needing to have the assembly available for the type of the first argument passed to the function. I think it is, I can't figure out what am I missing. This code is in a service. I was running the service under the 'NETWORK SERVICES' user account, when I changed the account to that of the session I was logged on with it worked ok. But, what's the difference, and how can I get it to work for the NETWORK SERVICES user.

• Bluetooth connect to a RS232 adapter in android

  Hello All, I am trying to use the Bluetooth Chat sample API app that google provides to connect to a bluetooth RS232 adapter hooked up to another device. Here is the app for reference: http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/BluetoothChat/index.html And here is the spec sheet for the RS232 connector just for reference: http://serialio.com/download/Docs/BlueSnap-guide-4.77%5FCommands.pdf Well the problem is that when I go to connect to the device with: mmSocket.connect(); (BluetoothSocket::connect()) I always get an IOException error thrown by the connect method. When I do a toString on the exception I get "Service discovery failed". My question is mostly what are the cases that would cause an IOException to get thrown in the connect method? I know those are in the source somewhere but I don't know exactly how the java layer that you write apps in and the C/C++ layer that contains the actual stacks interface. I know that it uses the bluez bluetooth stack which is written in C/C++ but not sure how that ties into the java layer which is what I would think is throwing the exception. Any help on pointing me to where I can try to dissect this issue would be incredible. Also just to note I am able to pair with the RS232 adapter just fine but I am never able to actually connect.   Hello again, I have a table (session_comments) with the following fields structure: student_id (foreign key to students table) session_id (foreign key to sessions table) session_subject_ID (foreign key to session_subjects table) user_id (foreign key to users table) comment_date_time comment Now, the combination of student_id, session_id, and session_subject_id will uniquely identify a comment about that student for that session subject. Given that combined they are unique, even though they are foreign keys, is there an advantage to me making them the combined primary key for that table? Thanks again.

  I have included Zend_Form_Element_Hash into a form multiplecheckbox form. I have jQuery set to fire off an AJAX request when a checkbox is clicked, I pass the token with this AJAX request. The first AJAX request works great, but the subsequent ones fail. I suspect it may be once the token has been validated it is then removed from the session (hop = 1). What would be your plan of attack for securing a form with Zend Framework Hash yet using AJAX to complete some of these requests?

The answer will probably not be "they share the same data".   My application is been live from 6 months. The application is host on jboss 7.1 server. From last few days I am finding numerous problem of hanging of jboss server. Though I restart the jboss server again, it does not invoke. I need to restart the server machine itself. Can anyone please let me know what could be the cause of these problems and the workable resolutions or any suggestion ? • SVN checkout/export too long to download

  Hi, My checkout/export session in svn is kinda weird. The file is just a 300KB in size but the downloading keeps going and it reaches a megabytes in size. The file is in RPM format. I don't know if the file is corrupt or the SVN has a bug. I tried to download the file using web browser and seems the downloading works fine. What probably is the main problem is here?

• JSF Navigation issue Facelets and Beans

  Hi, I have an issue with navigation in my simple jsf system. I have MainBean that has two methods: public String register() and public String login(). I have played with faces-config.xml for several hours and I feel like I miss something very important because I think like I have tried all simple solutions so far :). I have added the mysql connector (jdbc) to Tomcat's lib folder and I am able to register the table to mySQL databse. It even allows my users to log in to the page. The only problem is that I can't use navigation in any other page than login.xhtml. Seems like navigation is only active on this one. I tried to use * but is no joy. I am sure that there is a simple fix for that and someone will come up with correct solution soon. I tried to manage navigation from login_failed.xhtml first, then I will apply the same rool for registration to come back to login page when customer registers his nick name). register.xhtml: Basicaly mainBean.register now calls the database and returns string, but obviously it doesn't navigate to any view (but gives an entry to database). I believe it is simple fix for most of the experienced web developers and any help will be greately appreciated. I use eclipse, tomcat 6 and Widows Vista if that helps :) Thank you in advance. • Logging in with webrat, celerity doesn't recognize that.

  I'm using cucumber with webrat, and I am just starting to integrate culerity/celerity. My webrat login steps have been working great, and I have them as a Background for many of my scenarios. The problem is that although I can log in successfully via webrat, my celerity specific step definitions don't seem to recognize that. I can check the session from the step def and it confirms that I have a valid user that is logged in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

• Umount stale glusterfs partition

  I am using glusterfs on several Ubuntu servers: two of them are running glusterfs servers in replication mode. Without any clear error, the glusterfs partition became stale and the system shows this error when I try to access the stale partition: Transport endpoint is not connected Also, when running ls -l on the parent folder I get: d????????? ? ? ? ? ? myfolder I tried all types of commands that I can find to umount this partition, but I could not get it done: umount -l /path/to/mount/point umount -f /path/to/mount/point Also, using fuser command to show processes accessing this folder did not work. Unload the fuse kernel module can not be done as it is clear from the kernel config that fuse is built into the kernel and not a loadable module. I found this line in /boot/config-2.6.32-24-server CONFIG_FUSE_FS=y I have been left with two options: Reboot the system. Create another mount point like myfolder2 and mount this again using sudo glusterfs -f /etc/glustefs/glusterfs.vol /path/to/folder2. Of course, I have chosen to go with option 2. Anyone faced such an issue before? Anyone has a better solution for such a case?

• Kerberos service on win2k dc will not start following disk failure

  Hi, I have a win2k (mixed mode domain) with 4 DCS. One of these also acts an exchange 2000 server which uses 2 logical volumes from an MSA 2000 array. AD etc is stored on local drives. We experienced a problem last week when the raid array fell back to a redundant controller and this temporarily meant that the two logical drives were not visible to the server for around 5 minutes and a couple of reboots. The log records these Events as Type: Warning Event Source: Disk Event Category: None Event ID: 51 Date: 06/11/2009 Time: 11:46:23 User: N/A Computer: server1 Description: An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 during a paging operation. Following these problems, the server “kerberos Key Distribution” service refuses to start with an “error.31 a device attached to the system is not functioning”. All other automatic start services (including net logon) are running and there are no DNS issues etc. All devices are also functioning but the two logical MSA disks are now numbered in the Windows Disk Management MMC as 2 and 4 and I suspect that they may have previously been identified as disks 1 & 2 and perhaps windows still sees this as an ongoing failure?? Replication has not been affected but obviously there are many audit failures in the security log relating to users and workstations presumably linked to the Kerberos issue. Attempting to manually start the kerberos service generates the following in the System Log. Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7023 Date: 09/11/2009 Time: 09:46:55 User: N/A Computer: Server1 Description: The Kerberos Key Distribution Center service terminated with the following error: A device attached to the system is not functioning. DCDIAG passes all tests except “Advertising” and “Services” which I believe relate directly to the failure of Kerberos only. Any advice would be appreciated.

We want to connect using a public key through SSH which doesn't work. It always falls back to using password login.
