  • body onload cache not clearing

    - by Mad Cow
    I'm using an image swapping function generated by Dreamweaver to allow an image to change when moused over. The images are small. I have a problem because the images are getting stored in cache and without clearing it out I cant get the new images to show. It works on some browsers, but unfortunately not on all... I've read about putting "a random query" into the javascript to force the page to reload, but I dont know where to put it (the code was generated for me by dreamweaver). A subset of my code is : <script type="text/javascript"> function MM_preloadImages() { //v3.0 var d=document; if(d.images){ if(!d.MM_p) d.MM_p=new Array(); var i,j=d.MM_p.length,a=MM_preloadImages.arguments; for(i=0; i<a.length; i++) if (a[i].indexOf("#")!=0){ d.MM_p[j]=new Image; d.MM_p[j++].src=a[i];}} } function MM_swapImgRestore() { //v3.0 var i,x,a=document.MM_sr; for(i=0;a&&i<a.length&&(x=a[i])&&x.oSrc;i++) x.src=x.oSrc; } function MM_findObj(n, d) { //v4.01 var p,i,x; if(!d) d=document; if((p=n.indexOf("?"))>0&&parent.frames.length) { d=parent.frames[n.substring(p+1)].document; n=n.substring(0,p);} if(!(x=d[n])&&d.all) x=d.all[n]; for (i=0;!x&&i<d.forms.length;i++) x=d.forms[i][n]; for(i=0;!x&&d.layers&&i<d.layers.length;i++) x=MM_findObj(n,d.layers[i].document); if(!x && d.getElementById) x=d.getElementById(n); return x; } function MM_swapImage() { //v3.0 var i,j=0,x,a=MM_swapImage.arguments; document.MM_sr=new Array; for(i=0;i<(a.length-2);i+=3) if ((x=MM_findObj(a[i]))!=null){document.MM_sr[j++]=x; if(!x.oSrc) x.oSrc=x.src; x.src=a[i+2];} } </script> </head> <body onload="MM_preloadImages('../images/navigation/social-about-us-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-about-us.jpg','../images/navigation/social-activities-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-ourservices-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-howwework-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-fundraising-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-howtohelp-over.jpg','../images/navigation/social-contactus-over.jpg')"> My website is http://www.clockhouse.org.uk/ I'm sure there is a better way i could have written this, but if anyone can help me fix this code I'd be very grateful Many thanks

  • Is there a (Linux) C++ IDE that can 'construct' a project from a makefile?

    - by Paul
    I am working on a legacy C app which uses makefiles. I am more comfortable (and more productive) working from within an IDE, so I am looking for an IDE that can import the makefile and create a project. Incidentally, these are hand written makefiles (not complicated ones like those generated by Autoconf). I am using Code::Blocks at the moment, but it seems it is unable to import makefiles ...

  • Why save output until the end?

    - by user509006
    Very quick question about programming practices here: I've always used echo() to output HTML code to the user as soon as it was generated, and used ob_start() at the same time to be able to output headers later in the code. Recently, I was made aware that this is bad programming practice and I should be saving HTML output until the end. Is there a reason for this? What is it, and why isn't output buffering a good alternative? Thanks!

  • jQuery embedding youtube IE issue

    - by webmonkey237
    I have been working on a custom image slider featured here: JQuery $(function(){ $('.cont:gt(0)').hide(); $("#parent").on("mouseenter", ".extraContent div", function(){ var ind = $(this).index(); $("#parent").find(".cont").stop().fadeTo(600,0,function(){ $('#parent').find('.cont').eq(ind).stop().fadeTo(300,1); }); }); $('#parent .extraContent').on('click',function(){ window.location=$(this).find("a").attr("href"); return false; }); }); CSS ?#parent { width:400px; margin:auto} .mainContent { width:430px; height:300px; border:1px solid #000;padding:5px; } .extraContent {overflow:auto; width:450px;} .extraContent div{float:left; width:90px; height:90px; border:1px solid #00F; margin:5px; padding:5px } .extraContent div:hover { border:1px solid #0F0;cursor:pointer } .cont{ position:absolute; } HTML <div id="parent"> <div class="mainContent"> <div class="cont"> Content 1....</div> <div class="cont"> Content 2....</div> <div class="cont">Content 3...<br /><iframe width="267" height="200" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6tlQn7iePV4?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div> <div class="cont"> Content 4....</div> </div> <div class="extraContent"> <div><p>1 Custom content here <br /> <a href="">Some link</a></p></div> <div><p>2 Custom content here <br /> <a href="">Some link</a></p></div> <div><p>3 Custom content here <br /> <a href="">Some link</a></p></div> <div><p>4 Custom content here <br /> <a href="">Some link</a></p></div> </div> </div>? My problem is if I embed YouTube video straight from the site using there iframe it transitions fine in Chrome but Firefox & IE just display the video straight away and each slide/div appears under the video, is this a known problem and doesn't anyone know a way I can get IE & FF to behave. p.s. because this is going to be in a content management system the only way the user can embed the video is using the default code from youtube.   • Returning an error code in Erlang

    - by Zubair
    I'm writing some Erlang code and I'm very unsure whether I should let everything fail fast. One problem I find with fail fast is that for the developer/user the exception generated is pretty meaningless. Any idea what I should return which would not give esoteric and hard to read stack traces?

  • sidewaysfire and twosided

    - by hanno
    I try two use sidewaysfigure from the rotating package in the twosided memoir class. The resulting figures look correct in the pdf that is generated, with the page rotated by 90 degrees. However, when I print the document (on linux, using CUPS), some of the pages with a sidewaysfigure are upside down (rotated by 180 degreeS).

  • HTML/CSS Design for Report

    - by Kevin Brown
    I'm looking for some resources that demonstrate good graphic design for generated (PHP/HTML/CSS) reports. The website I'm designing is essentially a long test. Everything is finished except the report generation, and this part needs to look good! I'd appreciate any advice/resources you can point me to! I know this isn't directly programming related, but my purposes do encompass coding and output.

  • Display Commas in Large Numbers: JavaScript

    - by user3723918
    I'm working on a customized calculator, which is working pretty well except that I can't figure out how to get the generated numbers to display commas within the number. For example, it might spit out "450000" when I need it to say "450,000". This thread gives a number of suggestions on how to create a new function to deal with the problem, but I'm rather new to JavaScript and I don't really know how to make such a function interact with what I have now. I'd really appreciate any help as to how to get generated numbers with commas! :) HTML: <table id="inputValues"> <tr> <td>Percentage:</td> <td><input id="sempPer" type="text"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Price:</td> <td><input id="unitPrice" type="text"></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><input id="button" type="submit" value="Calculate"></td> </tr> </table> <table id="revenue" class="TFtable"> <tr> <td class="bold">Market Share</td> <td class="bold">Partner A</td> <td class="bold">Partner B</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="bold">1%</td> <td><span id="moss1"></span></td> <td><span id="semp1"></span></td> </tr> </table> </form> JavaScript: <script> function calc() { var z = Number(document.getElementById('sempPer').value); var x = Number(document.getElementById('unitPrice').value); var y = z / 100; var dm1 = .01 * 50000 * x * (1-y); var se1 = .01 * 50000 * x * y; document.getElementById("moss1").innerHTML= "$"+Number(dm1).toFixed(2); document.getElementById("semp1").innerHTML= "$"+Number(se1).toFixed(2); } </script>

  • When should I use OperationContextScope inside of a WCF service?

    - by blinton
    I'm currently working on a WCF service that reaches out to another service to submit information in a few of its operations. The proxy for the second service is generated through the strongly typed ProxyFactory<T> class. I haven't experienced any issues but have heard I should do something like the following when making the call: using (new OperationContextScope((IContextChannel)_service)) _service.Send(message); So my question is: when is creating this new OperationContextScope appropriate, and why? Thanks!

  • Dynamic CSS Background URLs

    Consider this CSS Property: background: url(http://images.something.com/background.png) left top repeat-x; Is there a way to dynamically specify the URL being used in the external file (Meaning the URL is sort of automatically generated rather than hard-coded in the CSS file) ? Thanks.

  • php array_filter without key preservation

    - by pistacchio
    Hi, if i filter an array with array_filter to eliminate null values, keys are preserved and this generated "holes" in the array. Eg: The filtered version of [0] => 'foo' [1] => null [2] => 'bar' is [0] => 'foo' [2] => 'bar' How can i get, instead [0] => 'foo' [1] => 'bar' ? Thanks

  • Any way to hide elements from webview? (android)

    - by ajent
    There's a webpage I pull up with webview, however i'd like to hide the 1 text link at the top. Is there a way to do this? The link is in the body, so I can't hide the body element in whole. The webpage is all text, and one tiny image at the bottom, but the text is generated each time you load it, so I can't just copy/paste the body. Thanks

  • managed object subclasses are not generating implementation files and are incorrectly named

    - by mkc842
    In Xcode 4.6, I generated plenty of managed object subclass files without any problem. But now that I'm trying to do it in Xcode 5, it generates only a .h file. The header file has the correct properties, but it takes the name of my project, rather than the name of the core data entity I selected. Just to be sure I hadn't forgotten something, I carefully followed these steps . What could be going on? Thanks

  • Python: Open() using a variable

    - by nuustik
    Good day, I've ran into a problem with opening a file with randomly generated name in Python 2.6. import random random = random.randint(1,10) localfile = file("%s","wb") % random Then I get an error message about the last line TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for %: 'file' and 'int' I just couldn't figure this out by myself nor with Google, but there has to be a cure for this, I believe. Thanks.
