  • Building a VS2010 solution from TFS2008

    I have a TFS 2008 Build Agent that has been used to build .Net 3.5 applications. I now have a .Net 4.0 app which i want to compile on the same build agent. I have ensured that MSBuild 4.0 is installed on there and all the required componentry is also installed, but i am getting the following MSB4062 error when building: [Any CPU/Release] C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets(244,5): error MSB4062: The "Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.GetSilverlightItemsFromProperty" task could not be loaded from the assembly C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.dll. Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.Build.Tasks.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. Confirm that the declaration is correct, and that the assembly and all its dependencies are available. I am presuming that i get this because the TFSBuild.proj gets executed by MSBuild 3.5 which in turn means my solution is compiled with MSBuild 3.5. Am i correct with my diagnosis? Is there any way to ensure that TFS2008 uses MSBuild 4.0 for my solution? Can it be done on a single team project so that it doesn't affect any other team projects being built on the same build agent?     I am trying to install Pylucene (pylucene-3.3-3-src.tar.gz) on my ubuntu linux 11.10. I have python 2.7.2. I was able to compile JCC (I think) because I didnt see any error when I installed it. When I tried to install Pylucene I get the following error. Can someone help? Thanks.   • TeamCity stopped working once I added NUnit to the mix

    I'm struggling a lot trying to get our build server going. I am currently running tests in a Windows XP virtual machine, and have installed TeamCity v5.0.3, build 10821. I am using NUnit v2.5.3. I finished the initial setup with TeamCity without any issues at all, provided that I use the sln2008 build runner that makes the entire process almost brainless. It's really quite nice that way, and very satisfying to see your first successful automated build. Now it's time to kick it up a notch and I wanted to get NUnit working. I keep the NUnit 2.5.3 assemblies in an external libs folder in SVN, so I checked that out onto the test system. I selected NUnit 2.5.3 from the build runner options, as the online instructions had recommended. But when I build, I get the following error: Window1.xaml.cs(14,7): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘NUnit’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Window1.xaml.cs(28,10): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘Test’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Window1.xaml.cs(28,10): error CS0246: The type or namespace name ‘TestAttribute’ could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Everything compiles great in the IDE. From finding blog posts and submitting comments, I got some advice and confirmed the following: I have the HintPath value set properly in my project file (points to the external lib) I can also do a full Release and Debug build from the command line using msbuild I have tried do use the NUnit installer so nunit.framework.dll gets registered into the GAC I have changed the build agent's logon account to be a user on the test system, rather than LOCAL SYSTEM. Nothing seems to help... can anyone else here offer me some advice on what to try next?

    Hi, I want to develop my own REST service, so I've created a HttpHandler that is configured with verb="" and path="", the the application in "~/MyRESTsrv/" will handle any derivated URL. This approach works good in IIS7 with "integrated mode" and apparently in IIS6 if you map all the extensions to "aspnet_isapi.dll". Is this possible in Apache/XSP with Mono? Do I have to do something special or it will work out of the box? Cheers.

  • DFS share Access denied for some time after workstation is booted.

    I have 2 Win server 2008 servers acting as domain controllers and Dns servers doing DFS. All my workstations are windows xp sp3. I have a DFS share drive mapped at login via login script. After the pc is booted I get an access denied message when trying to access the mapped drive. If i go to the file share on one of the servers i can get to it fine. After about 10 minutes i can try to access the mapped drive again and it works fine. I am not sure if it is some delay happening in dfs name resolution or a gpo issue.

  • Can a wifi AP act as a client, and a server at the same time?

    I feel this is SF worthy (as opposed to SU) as I go into a bit of detail on gateways/routing. Here's my ideal setup (if possible) -- there is a wifi network (lets call it bob's) with which I want access to, but I have a few other computers on my network which I want to keep behind a firewall. So I was thinking of buying a wireless access point so that I could set it up to connect to bob's network from the AP, and then from my server, connect to the AP via ethernet. So that's the first bit. Second part is that I want to have my own private wifi network off the back of this; can I then tell the AP to serve a new network called foobar. When I say private network, I mean that my server is actually a Debian linux install with routing configured (and I also do some QoS stuff on, etc). So ideally, I'd like all the clients on the private network to be behind the server in terms of routing. However, if the private clients connect to the server via wifi, then aren't they exposed to the "public" network? That is, if someone is savvy enough to scan for my IP range. Also, to do routing I'd need to connect two ethernet cables between the server and the AP (because you can't do routing/QoS on virtual devices) -- which isn't a problem really; but I'm not sure whether the AP will allow me to separate the public and private LANs. Or, as well as the AP, am I better getting a wifi-to-ethernet adapter for the server? I could use a wifi usb, but this can be tricky to set up on headless linux; plus the signal strength is a bit lousy. If this question is a bit vague/spurious in places, please comment and I will explain in more detail.

    Hi There, I have a simple form in codeigniter that I wish to use for the editing or records. I am at the stage where my form is displayed and the values entered into the corresponding input boxes. This is done by simply setting the values of said boxes to whatever they need to be in the view: <input type="text" value="<?php echo $article['short_desc'];?>" name="short_desc" /> But, if I wish to use form_validation in codeigniter then I have to add thos code to my mark-up: <input value="<?php echo set_value('short_desc')?>" type="text" name="short_desc" /> So not the value can be set with the set_value function should it need to be repopulated on error from the post data. Is there a way to combine the two so that my edit form can show the values to be edited but also re-populate? Thanks

Then, I guess that during the boot process, the script within /etc/init.d that starts abc is executed before that the different environment variables set within /etc/sudoers, /etc/environment and /etc/login.defs are loaded.     I have HP server ML370 g5 with 8 SAS, c drive 1 72 gb raid 0, d drive 2 72 gb raid 0, f drive 5 146 gb raid 5. 2 of 5 sas drive has got bad sectors and raid 5 is showing status failed. now i want to remove all this 5 SAS and put 1 by 1 in any of the bay to make its image for data recovery purpose without writing anything to the drive. how should i proceed. i also want to keep drive c and d intact. also is it possible if i put all this 5 drives in the bay with the same sequense will it recognise the raid 5 array ( i read some where its smart controller..just curious) many thanks in advance.

  • Qt: how to build QML apps for Symbian devices?

    I am pretty new to Qt and I have just started looking at QML. There are some sample applications included with the Nokia Qt SDK for Symbian and I have managed to load them into Qt Creator and run them using the QML Viewer application on the desktop. I would like to try some of the samples out on a device, but I am totally clueless as to how I would go about getting the qml files to run on a device. Are they first packaged into a sis file and installed or is the folder simply copied over? If so how is the app started on the device? Having done some googling the only information I seem to be able to find says that the Qt libraries available for Symbian devices at the moment is only 4.6.3 whereas version 4.7.0 is required for QML apps? Does this mean that I won't be able to run QML apps on a device at the moment? (Device is S60 5th Edition) Any help or pointers in the right direction for more information would be much appreciated.

  • How much time do I have to remove a domain controller that was lost using metadata cleanup?

    I am wondering how long after a Domain Controller has been permanently lost, from the domain due to it dying from hardware perspective, do I have before I have to clean up references of it using meta data cleanup? Planning on doing it soon but not sure if there is anything I should be concerned about. This dead or lost domain controller had no roles other than being a Domain Controller and having integrated Active Directory DNS. As well it held NO FSMO roles, it was just an older replication Domain Controller.

  • How does a debug build make reverse engineering easy?

    Some answer here stated that debug info would make it easier to reverse engineer the software. When I use Visual C++ and distribute an executable with debugging information but without other files (.pdb), will it contain any interesting things? I looked to the executable with a hex editor and found nothing like symbol names, for now I assume the .exe file just links to information in the .pdb files, right? Do you know whether it contains variable names? function/member names? line numbers? anything interesting? Thanks!

    I watch instructional videos that play in Silverlight such as the ones at http://windowsclient.net/learn. I watch them in full screen on my left monitor. While the video is playing, I want to be able to type notes in a text editor on my right monitor. However, as soon as I press a key, the video exits full screen mode. How can I force the Silverlight player to stay in full screen mode even as I type in another application?

  • How can I restrict a user's time spent on internet?

    I see related questions on how to restrict access to certain websites but that is not really what I want. Here's my situation: My baby sitter wants access to the internet but we we don't want her spending hours on the computer and neglecting our infant children. Thus, I want to be able to restrict her surfing to 30 minutes a session, with sessions being at least 3 hours apart. I do not care to restrict the content. Does anyone know what is the best way to implement this? Thanks.
