    Hi, I am migrating a website over to a new server, its in ASP and uses several Access databases, the site and CMS can read, display the data, and even edit and update existing data entries, but when I want to add a new entry, I get an error... Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied: 'CreateObject' /padp2010d/ads_tradetracker.asp, line 11 There seems to be no passwords on the databases, I have set up and tested the ODBC Data Sources and they are working fine.   • Doctrine-CLI database creation issue.

    I have Doctrine setup in my Zend Framework application and I built my schema YAML file. But when I tell Doctrine to build the tables it says it does but it doesn't actually make them. It creates the models, and will create the DB but it will not populate the DB with the tables and throws no errors. Does anyone have a guess or know why this is not working? Thank you.

    I am planning to build a POS Application for my shop. I have enough knowledge to build the application using DB and also using local files( system.IO - binary files ) to store and access the data for my application. But , i have no deployment experience and confused in choosing data storing option. Database using MDF may be good option ( may ease plenty of coding ) but i don't want to have SQL server on my desktop. as i am using WPF for building , my concern is that my application may get slow due to server response and design rendering of WPF. Then i tried to use only local data (binary files) to store the data and retrive using class and objects. but this coding is taking lot of time , so in the middle of the process i struck in the dilemma of going back to Database . Please help , for performance wise whic one is better . and in Practical World ,in professional applications which one is widely using .. please give suggestions ..

  • Using SMO to call Database.ExecuteNonQuery() concurrently?

    I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how I can run update scripts concurrently against multiple databases in a single SQL Server instance using SMO. Our environments have an ever-increasing number of databases which need updating, and iterating through one at a time is becoming a problem (too slow). From what I understand SMO does not support concurrent operations, and my tests have bore that out. There seems to be shared memory at the Server object level, for things like DataReader context, keeps throwing exceptions such as "reader is already open." I apologize for not having the exact exceptions I am getting. I will try to get them and update this post. I am no expert on SMO and just feeling my way through to be honest. Not really sure I am approaching it the right way, but it's something that has to be done, or our productivity will slow to a crawl. So how would you guys do something like this? Am I using the wrong technology with SMO? All I am wanting to do is execute sql scripts against databases in a single sql server instance in parallel. Thanks for any help you can give, Daniel

  • How to design this simple database?

    I have 2 tables - one storing user information (id, username, password) and the second one storing information about events (id, name, description, date, username(represents the user who created the event)). I would like to implement 'favourite events' functionality. This would allow the user to store his favourite events and later display them in a list. I am not sure how to implement this in terms of design. I need a simple solution. Something like storing the IDs of favourite events in a field in the user table. I am using mysql and php. Can anyone point me to the right direction?

    Ok, I attempted at making my own search function which doesnt work very well. It consists of eliminating useless words such as "how" "you" "to" then using a premade Stemmer class that reduces words to their root so "Appointments" searches "appoint" However in the end I'm really only searching keywords and the results are not very accurate. Are there open source search engines that i can implement for free?

  • Storing day and month (without year)

    I'm having trouble with figuring out the best way to store some data in my database. I've got to store DD/MM dates in a database, but I'm not sure of the best way to store this so that it can be easily sorted and searched. Basically a user will be able to save important dates in the format DD/MM, which they will be reminded of closer to the day. The DATE data type doesn't seem completely appropriate as it includes year, but I can't think of another way of storing this data. It would be possible to include a specific year to the end of all occasions, but this almost doesn't seem right.

These are my requirements: It must use an existing popular p2p network (I must guarantee my key/value will be stored and kept in multiple peers). None but myself should be able to edit or delete the key/value. Ideally an encryption key that only I have access to would be required to edit my key value. All peers would be able to read the key value (read-only access, only the key holder would be able to edit the value) Is there such p2p distributed hash table? Would the bittorrent distributed hash table meet my requirements?' Where could I find documentation?

    So I'm just getting started with Nokogiri and Rails I have the following which returns the name of someone. In my database , I saved some information about Users. Than, I want to connect with this information about User.     Hi there, I feel like this is quite delicate, I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files. I also have a Postgres db I need to backup. Any tips for running this operation as a python script? Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process?     I have created one simple note taking application in jquery & php. Current functionality is like when user clicks save button it sends a ajax request with complete data to update it in db(mysql). All works well. But now I want to auto save only changed text while user typing. I don't want to send entire text to server again and again in text change event. It should send only text which has changed. For Ex: This is saved text. When user continues typing. This is saved text. Unsaved text.. It should be able to send only "Unsaved text.." to server to update in db. How can i implement this in jquery & server side script.? Any Idea..?

    Hi guys, I am trying to use jQuery (latest version) & ajax to poll a mysql db every x seconds, post.php does a simple search query on the table and limits to 1 row. (eg SELECT id FROM TABLE LIMIT 1) I've got some other jQuery UI (using v1.8) code that displays some modal/dialog boxes on the screen, simply put if post.php returns something from the db I need to initialise the dialog to pop up onto the screen. I've done all the popup stuff I am just having issues joining all these bits together - i've added some pseudo code of how i expect this to work.   • Making a relevant search of text in database using regex

    Can anyone tell me how I could count the possible instances of a keyword in a block of text? I've split a search term up into separate tokens, so just need to run through and do a count for every instance and removing punctuation or other special characters when making the count. Secondly, if someone has inserted search terms surrounded by double quotes, i want to be able to skip explode, but just count instances of that exact phrase. It doesn't have to be case sensitive and I would like to remove punctuation from the phrase when doing the count. Thirdly, in both cases i want to be able to ignore wordpress and html tags. Lastly, if anyone know any good tutorials for relevant searches that answer the questions above, that would cool too.     Hi All, Recently I attended interview in java, the interviewer asked a question like below: I have a request which go throgh A,B,C modules and response go back throgh A , in module A I need to talk to database and again in module C I need to talk to database, so in this situation how many connections you will open and where do you close those connections? My Answer: I said that in module A I will open a connection and I will close it then and there, then control go to module B then module C, in module C again I will open one more connection and i will close it again. then he asked me again another question I want to open one connection per one request processing, how can i do this?
