• Deploying xbap in a full trust mode

  I have xbap which needs to run on a full trust mode because my application needs to upload a file from the client machine to process. I have to provide a installation steps to install. If i do it as a click one instillation, do i still get a security error? If so what is the best way to resolve it? If i install it in remote server, I saw couple of options in internet like creating certificates and ask user to import this certificate. Other option is to ask the user to allow access to xbap applications which provides access to all xbap applications (not so good). what is best way? It would be really great, if some could provide me the installation steps for both scenarios.

  Hi, On a webserver (shared hosting provider) I published a website with a ADO.Net Framework model in use with MySql Connector 6.3.1. When I request a page, a Security Exception will be happen with this error messages: "LinkDemand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer ". This exception raised when code collect the listeners of a tracksource: public class MySqlTrace { private static TraceSource source = new TraceSource("mysql"); static MySqlTrace() { foreach (TraceListener listener in source.Listeners) // <-- Exception throw here { // ... } } } The web.config doesn't have any trace data or system.diagnostics. My question is, why will a get a LinkDemand security exception during collecting the source listeners. What can maybe be wrong in here?

We have a large number of sites all running the same code. Once a site has failed to load a DLL it throws up a Yellow Screen of Death until the next App Pool recycle. We haven't been able to reproduce this behavior and the sites seem to work fine for days or weeks at a time (and many App Pool recycles) before failing. Has anybody else seen similar behavior? Update: We've tried reproducing the failure by setting up a few hundred sites and writing a script to hit them repeatedly while recycling the App Pool once every couple of minutes and were unable to accomplish much other than loading down the server's CPU for a few days straight. We then tried messing (locking one of the DLLs, changing the file permissions) with the copies of the DLLs that ASP.NET makes and managed to reproduce similar behavior but not the same exception. Does anybody have any ideas on how to adjust the security policy to get it to throw a System.Security.Policy.PolicyException: Execution permission cannot be acquired. when loading a specific DLL?

  Hi, We have a .NET client calling a Java webservice using SSL. Sometimes the call fails due to poor connectivity (the .NET Client is a UI that is used from the weirdest locations). We would like to implement an automatic retry mechanism that will automatically retry a failed call X times before giving up. This should be done solely with specific types of connectivity exceptions (and not for exceptions generated by the web service itself). We tried to find how to do it on the Binding/Channel level, but failed... any ideas? Thanks, yonadav

• Multi-step Workflows: make Workflow A depend on results of Workflow B and/or Workflow C

  I have been tasked with creating a Software Installation Approval section for our Intranet. When a person requests that a particular piece of software be installed on their workstation, we need to get IT approval and then business approval. Once those are obtained, it is to be installed. I am using Sharepoint Designer to do this. I have List A, where the user enters the information on the requested software. Workflow A then creates a Task in List B, which is then assigned to the IT approver. Workflow B works on List B on item creation, setting the due dates, titles, and other fields, and then pauses until the due date. The IT approver works with the business side and completes the task. Once List B task is complete, the item in List A should be marked as complete -- I have everything up to this point working fine. I want to make this more robust in 2 ways. As the only real option is to mark List B task as "completed", which essentially means "Approved", we have no way of really denying a request. What I want to add is the option to approve or deny a request through the task on List B -- if it is approved, I want the item in List A to continue to show "In Progress" with a custom status of "Approved", and I want to create a new task for software installation; once the installation task is marked as completed, then I want List A to show "Completed" with a status of "Installed". If it is denied, I want the item in List A to show as "Completed", with a status of "Denied". The problem is, I'm not even sure where to start making these modifications. Creating and modifying the custom status fields isn't that big of an issue -- I have messed around with this and I'm fairly confident I can do this easily. My main concern is that I know I will need a Workflow C, but I don't know where or how to trigger this to get the results I need. I've managed to get Workflows A and B working fine, but anything beyond this is really pushing the limit of my knowledge. It's probably obvious that I am rather new to Sharepoint workflows. I was very much thrust into this position and I am still feeling my way around. Thanks in advance for any help!

In case I want to use more then one TinyMCE package in my ASP.Net Project For example to use the Development Package and the .Net Package(Or use the Development Package , the .Net Package and the JQuery Package ). what steps do I need to take to include them in my solution? In TinyMCE web site Installation page ( wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Installation ) they wrote : "You should extract TinyMCE in your wwwroot or site domain root folder." But the problem is all the different packages unzip to the same folder name that is tinymce. There can't be more then one folder with the tinymce name in the site domain root folder. (files will be overwritten) Of course I can rename them for example to TinyMCEDev and TinyMceDotNet ,but what about code redundancy issues etc ? Thanks

Why is the option to install Windows 7 SP1 missing from Windows Update? i'm less interested in why the option is missing, and more interested in how to diagnose why the option to install Windows 7 SP1 is being hidden. • SIMPLE OpenSSL RSA Encryption in C/C++ is causing me headaches

  Hey guys, I'm having some trouble figuring out how to do this. Basically I just want a client and server to be able to send each other encrypted messages. This is going to be incredibly insecure because I'm trying to figure this all out so I might as well start at the ground floor. So far I've got all the keys working but encryption/decryption is giving me hell. I'll start by saying I am using C++ but most of these functions require C strings so whatever I'm doing may be causing problems. Note that on the client side I receive the following error in regards to decryption. error:04065072:rsa routines:RSA_EAY_PRIVATE_DECRYPT:padding check failed I don't really understand how padding works so I don't know how to fix it. Anywho here are the relevant variables on each side followed by the code.   I'm getting an error whilst trying to install psycopg2 on ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. I've tried by using easy_install too. No error during the installation. It's quite weird as my python (2.6.2) has been compiled with UCS4 and so the installation should just work without problems.   I'm trying to create my first Windows Service in C# VS2010 and slowly discover how I should do things. But now I have reached a point, where I cannot install a new version of my service. My setup program tells me Error 1001. Service MyService was not found on computer '.'. --> The specified service does not exists as an installed service. The last part of the message is translated into english from danish. I cannot see the service in either the service list (services.msc) or in the registry. I have removed the left overs from a previous installation, so no traces here either. I have emptied the temporary folder under my windows account. Where do I locate the rest of the remains obstructing my installation of the service?

I've tried connecting with TeraTerm and that works fine, so it's not a problem with the connection to the phone itself. I've been searching around for ages trying to find a solution but haven't come up with anything that works. Any ideas?

• Getting useful emails from Hudson instead of tail of ant log

  A team member of mine recently setup some Hudson continuous-integration builds for a number of our development code bases. It uses the built in ant integration configured in simple way. While, it is very helpful and I recommend it strongly, I was wondering how to get more more concise/informative/useful emails instead of just the tail of the ant build log. E.G., Don't want this: > [...truncated 36530 lines...] > [junit] Tests run: 32, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Time elapsed: 0.002 sec ... (hundred of lines omitted) ... > [junit] Tests run: 10, Failures: 0, Errors: 0, Time elapsed: 0.001 sec > [junit] Tests FAILED > > BUILD FAILED I assume, that I could skip the build-in ant support and send the build log through a grep script, but I was hoping there was a more integrated or elegant option.
