  • How can I set time limit on get_file_contents in PHP?

    Hello, At times the get_file_contents takes too long and that hangs the entire script. Is there any way of setting a time out limit on get_file_contents, without modifying the maximum execution time of the script? Edit: Its taking long because the file does not exist. I am getting "failed to open stream: HTTP request failed!" error. But it takes forever.

  • Best way to set a default button (or trigger its event in javascript) for an input field, not part of a form

    I've got a stand-alone input field, not part of any form. I also got a button, that has some onclick event. When I type something in the input field, and press the Enter key, I want it do effectively press the button, or trigger its onclick event. So that the button is "the input field's default button" so to speak. <input id='myText' type='text' /> <button id='myButton' onclick='DoSomething()'>Do it!</button> I guess I can mess around with the input field's onkeypress or onkeydown events and check for the Enter key, etc. But is there a more 'clean' way, I mean something that associated the button with that input field, so that the button is the 'default action' or something for that field? Note that I'm not inside a form, I am not sending, posting, or submitting something. The DoSomething() function just changes some of the HTML content locally, depending on the text input.

    Here is some actual code I'm trying to debug: BEGIN OPEN bservice (coservice.prod_id); FETCH bservice INTO v_billing_alias_id, v_billing_service_uom_id, v_summary_remarks; CLOSE bservice; v_service_found := 1; -- An empty fetch is expected for some services. EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN v_service_found := 0; END; When the parametrized cursor bservice(prod_id) is empty, it fetches NULL into the three variables and does not throw an exception. So whoever wrote this code expecting it to throw an exception was wrong, right? The comment seems to imply that and empty fetch is expected and then it sets a flag for later handling, but I think this code cannot possibly have been tested with empty sets either. Obviously, it should use bservice%NOTFOUND or bservice%FOUND or similar.

  • Prolog Beginner: How to unify with arithmentic cmparison operators or how to get a set var to range

    I am new to prolog. I need to write an integer adder that will add numbers between 0-9 to other numbers 0-9 and produce a solution 0-18. This is what I want to do: add(in1, in2, out) :- in1 < 10, in2 < 10, out < 18. I would like to be able to call it like this: To Check if it is a valid addition: ?- add(1,2,3). true ?- add(1,2,4). false With one missing variable: ?- add(X,2,3). 1 ?- add(1,4,X). 5 With multiple missing variables: ?-add(X,Y,Z). % Some output that would make sense. Some examples could be: X=1, Y=1, Z=2 ; X=2, Y=1, Z=3 ...... I realize that this is probably a pretty simplistic question and it is probably very straightforward. However cording to the prolog tutorial I am using: "Unlike unification Arithmetic Comparison Operators operators cannot be used to give values to a variable. The can only be evaluated when every term on each side have been instantiated."

  • Set up CakePHP in a subdirectory; Wordpress is installed in the root

    I have been searching for a solution for 2 hours but nothing seems to work... here is my problem: I have WordPress installed in the root (var/www). So by going to http://www.geekderek.com, I see my wordpress site. I put CakePHP in a subdirectory var/www/cakephp. I want to be able to see my CakePHP app by going to: www.geekderek.com/cakephp. However, currently this url just returns a Wordpress page saying "Content not found." I believe this problem can be solved by modifying .htaccess in my root directory. So here is my .htaccess: http://pastebin.com/sXJTRstB As you can see, I added this line to the default WP .htaccess file: RewriteRule ^cakephp(/(.*))?$ cakephp/app/webroot/$1 [QSA,L] However, for some reason this doesn't seem to work.     Hi, in a C++ program some string reads info from file, and in some part contains a "\r" character. I need to remove it, afte the read, in order to avoid problems. I thought about comparing strings character to character, I thought that "\r" would take two chars, but not, it is just one. how would i use a conditional ? if char[4]==`\r' ??? Thanks P.D. Could I do something like this? - (void)doStuff:(CGFloat*)floatPointer I guess this must look different than other object pointers which have two of those stars. Also I'm not sure if I must do something like: - (void)doStuff:(const CGFloat*)floatPointer And of course, no idea how to assign an CGFloat value to that floatPointer. Maybe &floatPointer = 5.0f; ?   • (UNITY3D) Get slerp to work just as LookAt(,Vector3.right) does

    Ive been working over a sidescroller shooter game. Ive got my sidescroller shooter character to look around with these : chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.right); & chest.LookAt(mousepos,Vector3.left); (Left when the character is turned to the left and right when the character is turned to the right) so it wont aim in to any other axis... But when the mouse gets to cross the middle of the character and not around it it gets the rotation to make a small transportation between frames and it wont get all the way to there.. It'll just teleport to its correct rotation like lookat should. Well the question is, how do I get any quaternion slerp which works with a Time.deltTime to work as same as LookAt(,Vector3.right)? I must have the Vector3.right and left so it'll move trough 1 axis. Many thanks to anyone who helps me out. :)

I'm making a game in which several characters have relationships with each other and they need to be able to interact with each other and store some relationship data regarding how they feel about each other. I have an object for each character. Is it bad for each of those character objects to have an array of all the other character objects in order to perform these interactions? Is there a better way to do this?

    Hi there, We're building an app which in part of its functionality tries to capture the number of likes associated to a particular video owned by a user. Users of the app are asked for extended off-line access and we capture the key for each user: The format is like this: 2.hg2QQuYeftuHx1R84J1oGg__.XXXX.1272394800-nnnnnn Each user has their offline / infinite key stored in a table in a DB. The object_id which we're interested in is also stored in the DB. At a later stage (offline) we try to run a batch job which reads the number of likes for each user's video. (See attached code) For some reason however, after the first iteration of the loop - which yields the likes correctly, we get a failure with the oh so familiar message: "Session key is invalid or no longer valid" Any insight would be most appreciated.   • How to set Camera View as background with views over it?

    So, I'm trying to make the background to one of my apps look "futuristic." I thought of an idea to make the screen look almost transparent yet have views over it. So, it would look something like this: I'm thinking that I can use the camera to capture the background of the phone (without taking a picture, just having the real time view in the background) and then, if possible, place a semi-transparent slightly blurred ImageView over that. Finally, on top of that I can place the other views including the ImageButtons. So, my question is how would I go about doing this? I have searched but haven't found anything relevant. It must be possible; its just how to do it? I don't expect you to give me all the code as an answer, just if you have any ideas that can help or links or code that can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Folks, I am successful to map an external directory by creating an xml file like : <Context path="/uploads" docBase="C:\uploads\photos" crossContext="true"/> And I named this xml file as uploads.xml and saved under "#Tomcat\conf\Catalina\localhost" here # = Directory where Tomcat has been installed. And when I start Tomcat(5) from cammand line (batch file) i.e. startup.bat The images can be accessed normally like "http://localhost:8080/uploads/user1.png" It works. Actually I am using IntelliJ Idea 8 for devevelopment. When I start Tomcat from IntelliJ Idea, I am not able to access the context i.e. the images. "http://localhost:8080/uploads/user1.png" It shows "HTTP 400 Bad Request" The context path for my project is "http://localhost:8080/spark/" Any help or suggestion is needed at the earliest time.   • Using Rails, how can I set my primary key to not be an integer-typed column?

    I'm using Rails migrations to manage a database schema, and I'm creating a simple table where I'd like to use a non-integer value as the primary key (in particular, a string). To abstract away from my problem, let's say there's a table employees where employees are identified by an alphanumeric string, e.g. "134SNW". I've tried creating the table in a migration like this: create_table :employees, {:primary_key => :emp_id} do |t| t.string :emp_id t.string :first_name t.string :last_name end What this gives me is what seems like it completely ignored the line t.string :emp_id and went ahead and made it an integer column. Is there some other way to have rails generate the PRIMARY_KEY constraint (I'm using PostgreSQL) for me, without having to write the SQL in an execute call? NOTE: I know it's not best to use string columns as primary keys, so please no answers just saying to add an integer primary key. I may add one anyway, but this question is still valid.
