  • How do I set a ComboBox default *not in the drop down* when a list item begins with the same text as a drop down item?

    - by John Conrad
    Using C#, say you have a ComboBox that has a DropDownStyle set to DropDown (there are items in the drop down but the user can manually enter a value as well). How do you set a default value for the ComboBox that is not in the list of values in the drop down, but begins with text from a possible selection? Normally setting ComboBox.Text works fine, but if there is an item in the drop down that begins with the text you want as the default, it automatically selects the first item in the list that starts with the text. For example: Values in the drop down: c:\program files\ c:\windows\ d:\media\ Default Value Assignment myComboBox.Text = "C:\"; Result Initial value of ComboBox when the form opens is "c:\program files\". So what am I doing wrong? How do I correctly set a default value of an item not in the drop down list that begins with a possible selection?

  • Enable RemoteApp Full Desktop programmatically

    - by Scott Chamberlain
    I am writing a powershell script to set up some HyperV VM's however there is one step I am having trouble automating. How do I check the box to allow Remote desktop access from the RemoteApp settings programmatically? I can set up all of my customizations I need by doing #build the secrity descriptor so the desktop only shows up for people who should be allowed to see it $remoteDesktopUsersSid = New-Object System.Security.Principal.SecurityIdentifier($remoteDesktopUsersGroup.objectSid[0],0) $aceTemplet = 'O:WDG:WDD:ARP(A;CIOI;CCLCSWLORCGR;;;{0})' $securityDescriptor = $aceTemplet -f $remoteDesktopUsersSid #get a copy of the WMI instance $tsRemoteDesktop = Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\CIMV2\TerminalServices -Class Win32_TSRemoteDesktop #set settings $tsRemoteDesktop.Name = $ServerDisplayName $tsRemoteDesktop.SecurityDescriptor = $securityDescriptor $tsRemoteDesktop.IconPath = $IconPath $tsRemoteDesktop.IconIndex = $IconIndex #push settings back to server Set-WmiInstance -InputObject $tsRemoteDesktop -PutType UpdateOnly however the instance of that WMI object does not exist until after you have the above box checked. I attempted to use Set-WmiInstance to instantiate and set the settings at the same time but I keep getting errors like: Set-WmiInstance : At line:53 char:16 + Set-WmiInstance <<<< -Namespace root\CIMV2\TerminalServices -Class Win32_TSRemoteDesktop -Arguments @{Alias='TSRemoteDesktop';Name=$ServerDisplayName;ShowInPortal=$true;SecurityDescriptor=$securityDescriptor} + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [Set-WmiInstance], ArgumentException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : System.ArgumentException,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.SetWmiInstance (also after running the command and getting the error it will delete the instance of Win32_TSRemoteDesktop if it already exited and un-check the box in the properties setting) Is there any way to programmatically check that box or can anyone help with why Set-WmiInstance throws that error?

  • GRUB doesn't recognize partitions on one harddisk

    - by knizz
    I have a dualboot computer with Windows Vista (on hd0) and Ubuntu 9.10. The bootloader is GRUB and the windows bootloader lets me decide between Vista and Ubuntu-Installation (broken WuBi). But now (i don't know why that changed) I can't use start the windows-bootloader anymore. I tried "ls" on the grub-prompt and it gave me a list like: (hd0) (hd1) (hd1,0) (hd1,1) (hd1,2) ... (fd0) It recognizes all partitions of hd1 (the ubuntu-harddisk) but not of hd0(the win-disk). .. WHY? Here is the result of the "boot info script" for the technical details: Boot Info Script 0.55 dated February 15th, 2010 ============================= Boot Info Summary: ============================== => Grub 2 is installed in the MBR of /dev/sda and looks for (UUID=a7c510e3-2399-437b-ab92-fa609e48d63f)/boot/grub. => No boot loader is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb sda1: _________________________________________________________________________ File system: ntfs Boot sector type: Windows Vista/7 Boot sector info: No errors found in the Boot Parameter Block. • Problems with ipsec betwen Cisco ASA 5505 and Juniper ssg5

    - by Oskar Kjellin
    I am trying to set up an ipsec tunnel between our ASA 5505 and a Juniper ssg5. The tunnel is up and running, but I cannot get any data through it. The local network I am on is 172.16.1.0 and the remote is 192.168.70.0. But I cannot ping anything on their netowork. I receive a "Phase 2 OK" when I set up the ipsec. I think this is the part of the config that is applicable. It seems like the data is not routed through the tunnel, but I am not sure... object network our-network subnet 172.16.1.0 255.255.255.0 object network their-network subnet 192.168.70.0 255.255.255.0 access-list outside_cryptomap extended permit ip object our-network object their-network crypto ipsec ikev1 transform-set ESP-3DES-SHA esp-3des esp-sha-hmac crypto map outside_map 1 match address outside_cryptomap crypto map outside_map 1 set pfs crypto map outside_map 1 set peer THEIR_IP crypto map outside_map 1 set ikev1 phase1-mode aggressive crypto map outside_map 1 set ikev1 transform-set ESP-3DES-MD5 crypto map outside_map 1 set ikev2 pre-shared-key ***** crypto map outside_map 1 set reverse-route crypto map outside_map interface outside webvpn group-policy GroupPolicy_THEIR_IP internal group-policy GroupPolicy_THEIR_IP attributes vpn-filter value outside_cryptomap ipv6-vpn-filter none vpn-tunnel-protocol ikev1 tunnel-group THEIR_IP type ipsec-l2l tunnel-group THEIR_IP general-attributes default-group-policy GroupPolicy_THEIR_IP tunnel-group THEIR_IP ipsec-attributes ikev1 pre-shared-key ***** ikev2 remote-authentication pre-shared-key ***** ikev2 local-authentication pre-shared-key *****

  • Cannot read status the monit daemon, even with allowed group

    - by jefflunt
    I cannot seem to get monit status or other CLI commands to work. I've built monit v5.8 to run on a Raspberry Pi. I'm able to add services to be monitored, and the web interface can be accessed just fine, as I've set it up for public read-only access (it's a test server, not my final production setup, so not a big deal right now). Problem is, when I run monit status while logged in as root I get: # monit status monit: cannot read status from the monit daemon I also have monit started on boot via this /etc/inittab file entry: mo:2345:respawn:/usr/local/bin/monit -Ic /etc/monitrc I've verified that monit is running, and I'm getting email alerts anytime I either kill the monit process manually, or reboot my raspberry pi. So, next I check my monitrc file permissions to see which group is allowed access. # ls -al /etc/monitrc -rw------- 1 root root 2359 Aug 24 14:48 /etc/monitrc Here's my relevant allow section of the control file. set httpd port 80 allow [omitted] readonly allow @root allow localhost allow 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 Also tried setting permissions on this file to 640 to allow group read permissions, but no matter what I try I either get the same error as noted above, or when the permissions are set to 640 I get: # monit status monit: The control file '/etc/monitrc' must have permissions no more than -rwx------ (0700); right now permissions are -rw-r----- (0640). What am I missing here? I know that the httpd must be enabled, as that's the interface that the CLI uses to get information (or so I've read), so I've done that. And in terms of monit doing its monitoring job and sending email alerts, that's all working as well. Here's my entire monitrc file - again, this is version v5.8, and it was build with both PAM and SSL support. The process runs under the root user: # Global settings set daemon 300 with start delay 5 set logfile /var/log/monit.log set pidfile /var/run/monit.pid set idfile /var/run/.monit.id set statefile /var/run/.monit.state # Mail alerts ## Set the list of mail servers for alert delivery. Multiple servers may be ## specified using a comma separator. If the first mail server fails, Monit # will use the second mail server in the list and so on. By default Monit uses # port 25 - it is possible to override this with the PORT option. # set mailserver smtp.gmail.com port 587 username [omitted] password [omitted] using tlsv1 ## Send status and events to M/Monit (for more informations about M/Monit ## see http://mmonit.com/). By default Monit registers credentials with ## M/Monit so M/Monit can smoothly communicate back to Monit and you don't ## have to register Monit credentials manually in M/Monit. It is possible to ## disable credential registration using the commented out option below. ## Though, if safety is a concern we recommend instead using https when ## communicating with M/Monit and send credentials encrypted. # # set mmonit http://monit:[email protected]:8080/collector # # and register without credentials # Don't register credentials # # ## Monit by default uses the following format for alerts if the the mail-format ## statement is missing:: set mail-format { from: [email protected] subject: $SERVICE $DESCRIPTION message: $EVENT Service: $SERVICE Date: $DATE Action: $ACTION Host: $HOST Description: $DESCRIPTION Monit instance provided by chicagomeshnet.com } # Web status page set httpd port 80 allow [omitted] readonly allow @root allow localhost allow 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 ## You can set alert recipients whom will receive alerts if/when a ## service defined in this file has errors. Alerts may be restricted on ## events by using a filter as in the second example below.

  • ASA 5505 stops local internet when connected to VPN

    - by g18c
    Hi I have a Cisco ASA router running firmware 8.2(5) which hosts an internal LAN on 192.168.30.0/24. I have used the VPN Wizard to setup L2TP access and I can connect in fine from a Windows box and can ping hosts behind the VPN router. However, when connected to the VPN I can no longer ping out to my internet or browse web pages. I would like to be able to access the VPN, and also browse the internet at the same time - I understand this is called split tunneling (have ticked the setting in the wizard but to no effect) and if so how do I do this? Alternatively, if split tunneling is a pain to setup, then making the connected VPN client have internet access from the ASA WAN IP would be OK. • Scripted forwarding for Outlook 2003

    - by John Gardeniers
    We have a staff member in sales who has gone onto a 4 day week (getting ready for retirement), so each Thursday afternoon her email needs to be forwarded to another user and each Friday afternoon it needs to be set back. I'm using the VBS script below to do this, run via the Task Scheduler. Although the script appears to do it's job, based on what I see when I view the user's Exchange settings, Exchange doesn't always recognise that the setting has changed. e.g. Last Thursday the forwarding was a enabled and worked correctly. On Friday the script did it's thing to clear the forwarding but Exchange continued to forward messages all weekend. I found that I can force Exchange to honour the changed setting be merely opening and closing the user's properties in ADUC. Of course I don't want to have to do that. Is there a non-manual way I can have Exchange read and honour the setting? The script (VBS): ' Call this script with the following parameters: ' ' SrcUser - The logon ID of the suer who's account is to be modified ' DstUser - The logon account of the person to who mail is to be forwarded ' Use "reset" to clear the email forwarding SrcUser = WScript.Arguments.Item(0) DstUser = WScript.Arguments.Item(1) SourceUser = SearchDistinguishedName(SrcUser) 'The user login name Set objUser = GetObject("LDAP://" & SourceUser) If DstUser = "reset" then objUser.PutEx 1, "altRecipient", "" Else ForwardTo = SearchDistinguishedName(DstUser)' The contact common name objUser.Put "AltRecipient", ForwardTo End If objUser.SetInfo Public Function SearchDistinguishedName(ByVal vSAN) Dim oRootDSE, oConnection, oCommand, oRecordSet Set oRootDSE = GetObject("LDAP://rootDSE") Set oConnection = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") oConnection.Open "Provider=ADsDSOObject;" Set oCommand = CreateObject("ADODB.Command") oCommand.ActiveConnection = oConnection oCommand.CommandText = "<LDAP://" & oRootDSE.get("defaultNamingContext") & ">;(&(objectCategory=User)(samAccountName=" & vSAN & "));distinguishedName;subtree" Set oRecordSet = oCommand.Execute On Error Resume Next SearchDistinguishedName = oRecordSet.Fields("DistinguishedName") On Error GoTo 0 oConnection.Close Set oRecordSet = Nothing Set oCommand = Nothing Set oConnection = Nothing Set oRootDSE = Nothing End Function

  • apt-mirror does not mirror the i18n directory

    - by Fred
    I need to setup a local Ubuntu mirror so the whole network doesn't need to hit remote servers in order to update and install new packages. Following a brief tutorial found here, I managed to get a server up and running that correctly mirrors packages from the main and restricted categories. However, when I call apt-get update on a client, I get a couple of errors such as : Ign http://192.168.1.18 karmic/main Translation-fr Ign http://192.168.1.18 karmic/restricted Translation-fr Checking back on the server, I see that apt-mirror only took the binary-amd64 directory of the mirror, and didn't take i18n that would provide Translation-fr. The manpage for apt-mirror doesn't say anything about i18n, and Google is of no help either. How do I properly mirror i18n? My current mirror.list file is as follows : ############# config ################## # # set base_path /var/spool/apt-mirror # # if you change the base path you must create the directories below with write privileges # # set mirror_path $base_path/mirror # set skel_path $base_path/skel # set var_path $base_path/var # set cleanscript $var_path/clean.sh # set defaultarch <running host architecture> # set postmirror_script $var_path/postmirror.sh set run_postmirror 0 set nthreads 20 set _tilde 0 # ############# end config ############## deb http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/archive karmic main restricted deb http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/archive karmic-updates main restricted clean http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/archive

  • What's the difference between find and findstr commands in Windows?

    - by Prashant Bhate
    In Windows, what are the differences between find and findstr commands? Both seems to search text in files: find c:\>find /? Searches for a text string in a file or files. FIND [/V] [/C] [/N] [/I] [/OFF[LINE]] "string" [[drive:][path]filename[ ...]] /V Displays all lines NOT containing the specified string. /C Displays only the count of lines containing the string. /N Displays line numbers with the displayed lines. /I Ignores the case of characters when searching for the string. /OFF[LINE] Do not skip files with offline attribute set. "string" Specifies the text string to find. [drive:][path]filename Specifies a file or files to search. If a path is not specified, FIND searches the text typed at the prompt or piped from another command. findstr c:\>findstr /? Searches for strings in files. FINDSTR [/B] [/E] [/L] [/R] [/S] [/I] [/X] [/V] [/N] [/M] [/O] [/P] [/F:file] [/C:string] [/G:file] [/D:dir list] [/A:color attributes] [/OFF[LINE]] strings [[drive:][path]filename[ ...]] /B Matches pattern if at the beginning of a line. /E Matches pattern if at the end of a line. /L Uses search strings literally. /R Uses search strings as regular expressions. /S Searches for matching files in the current directory and all subdirectories. /I Specifies that the search is not to be case-sensitive. /X Prints lines that match exactly. /V Prints only lines that do not contain a match. /N Prints the line number before each line that matches. /M Prints only the filename if a file contains a match. /O Prints character offset before each matching line. /P Skip files with non-printable characters. /OFF[LINE] Do not skip files with offline attribute set. /A:attr Specifies color attribute with two hex digits. See "color /?" /F:file Reads file list from the specified file(/ stands for console). /C:string Uses specified string as a literal search string. /G:file Gets search strings from the specified file(/ stands for console). /D:dir Search a semicolon delimited list of directories strings Text to be searched for. [drive:][path]filename Specifies a file or files to search. Use spaces to separate multiple search strings unless the argument is prefixed with /C. For example, 'FINDSTR "hello there" x.y' searches for "hello" or "there" in file x.y. 'FINDSTR /C:"hello there" x.y' searches for "hello there" in file x.y. Regular expression quick reference: . Wildcard: any character * Repeat: zero or more occurances of previous character or class ^ Line position: beginning of line $ Line position: end of line [class] Character class: any one character in set [^class] Inverse class: any one character not in set [x-y] Range: any characters within the specified range \x Escape: literal use of metacharacter x \<xyz Word position: beginning of word xyz\> Word position: end of word For full information on FINDSTR regular expressions refer to the online Command Reference.

  • Apache mod_header rule to change all cookies to secure

    - by Supowski
    I would like to change all cookies to be secure and http-only. I works fine for one cookie, but doesn't work when multiple cookies are set in response. Apache mod_header rule should change cookies from: Set-Cookie cookie1=value; Path=/somePath Set-Cookie cookie2=value; Path=/somePath to Set-Cookie cookie1=value; Path=/somePath; Secure; Http-Only Set-Cookie cookie2=value; Path=/somePath; Secure; Http-Only I use mod_headers for it with following rule: Header edit Set-Cookie ^(.*)$ $1;Secure;HttpOnly It works fine when only one cookie is set, but if there is more than one, it just removes all the following and they are not set at all. Any help how to write mod_headers rule for multiple values? or the problem is in something else?

  • How can I get Solr listening on 0.0.0.0 instead of just localhost?

    - by Neil
    I'm trying to get Solr to listen on 0.0.0.0 instead of just localhost, and it doesn't seem to be picking up the configuration options. I downloaded apache-solr-1.4.1 from the Solr website, and I'm running: user@:apache-solr-1.4.1/example $ java -jar start.jar With these configuration options: <Call name="addConnector"> <Arg> <New class="org.mortbay.jetty.bio.SocketConnector"> <Set name="host"><SystemProperty name="jetty.host" default="0.0.0.0" /></Set> <Set name="port"><SystemProperty name="jetty.port" default="8983" /></Set> <Set name="maxIdleTime">50000</Set> <Set name="lowResourceMaxIdleTime">1500</Set> </New> </Arg> </Call> Where the only line changed from the default is this one: <Set name="host"><SystemProperty name="jetty.host" default="0.0.0.0" /></Set> And when I check netstat, I see this: $ netstat -an | egrep 'Proto|\b8983\b' Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:8983 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN tcp6 0 0 ::1:8983 :::* LISTEN Where Local Address should be 0.0.0.0:8983 instead of 127.0.0.1:8983. Does anyone know why this might not be working?

If I comment out the ImportTransactions it doesnt throw a error, however I have produced similar code for another vbs file and this does not throw any errors Thanks in advance for any help, Clare

  • Xml failing to deserialise

    - by Carnotaurus
    I call a method to get my pages [see GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath)]. The FromXElement method is supposed to deserialise the LitePropertyData elements to strongly type LitePropertyData objects. Instead it fails on the following line: return (T)xmlSerializer.Deserialize(memoryStream); and gives the following error: <LitePropertyData xmlns=''> was not expected. What am I doing wrong? I have included the methods that I call and the xml data: public static T FromXElement<T>(this XElement xElement) { using (var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(xElement.ToString()))) { var xmlSerializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(T)); return (T)xmlSerializer.Deserialize(memoryStream); } } public static List<LitePageData> GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath) { XDocument document = XDocument.Load(xmlFullFilePath); List<LitePageData> results = (from record in document.Descendants("row") select new LitePageData { Guid = IsValid(record, "Guid") ? record.Element("Guid").Value : null, ParentID = IsValid(record, "ParentID") ? Convert.ToInt32(record.Element("ParentID").Value) : (Int32?)null, Created = Convert.ToDateTime(record.Element("Created").Value), Changed = Convert.ToDateTime(record.Element("Changed").Value), Name = record.Element("Name").Value, ID = Convert.ToInt32(record.Element("ID").Value), LitePageTypeID = IsValid(record, "ParentID") ? Issues with Bobby and Cynthia Bobby and Cynthia are free services that supposedly allow a user to expose web page accessibility barriers. It is something of a guide but perhaps a blunt instrument. I tested a few of the webpages that I have designed. Sure enough, my pages fall short and for good reason. I am not about to claim that Bobby and Cynthia are useless. Although it is useful and commendable tool, it project appears to be overly ambitious. Nevertheless, let me explain my issues with Bobby and Cynthia: First, certain W3C standards for designing web documents are often too strict and unworkable. For instance, in some versions W3C standards for HTML, certain tags should not include a particular attribute, whereas in others they are requisite if the document is to be ???well-formed???. The standard that a designer chooses is determined usually by the requirements specification document. This specifies which browsers and versions of those browsers that the web page is expected to correctly display. Forcing a hypertext document to conform strictly to a specific W3C standard for HTML is often no simple task. In the worst case, it cannot conform without losing some aesthetics or accessibility functionality. Second, the case of HTML documents is not an isolated case. Standards for XML, XSL, JavaScript, VBScript, are analogous. Therefore, you might imagine the problems when you begin to combine these languages and formats in an HTML document. Third, there is always more than one way to skin a cat. For example, Bobby and Cynthia may flag those IMG tags that do not contain a TITLE attribute. There might be good reason that a web developer chooses not to include the title attribute. The title attribute has a limited numbers of characters and does not support carriage returns. This is a major defect in the design of this tag. In fact, before the TITLE attribute was supported, there was the ALT attribute. Most browsers support both, yet they both perform a similar function. However, both attributes share the same deficiencies. In practice, there are instances where neither attribute would be used. Instead, for example, the developer would write some JavaScript or VBScript to circumvent these deficiencies. The concern is that Bobby and Cynthia would not notice this because it does not ???understand??? what the JavaScript does. </Html> <FriendlyName>unused</FriendlyName> <IsDeleted>false</IsDeleted> <Properties> <LitePropertyData> <Description>Image for the page</Description> <DisplayEditUI>true</DisplayEditUI> <OwnerTab>1</OwnerTab> <DisplayName>Image Url</DisplayName> <FieldOrder>1</FieldOrder> <IsRequired>false</IsRequired> <Name>ImageUrl</Name> <IsModified>false</IsModified> <ParentPageID>3</ParentPageID> <Type>String</Type> <Value xsi:type="xsd:string">smarter.jpg</Value> </LitePropertyData> <LitePropertyData> <Description>WebItemApplicationEnum</Description> <DisplayEditUI>true</DisplayEditUI> <OwnerTab>1</OwnerTab> <DisplayName>WebItemApplicationEnum</DisplayName> <FieldOrder>1</FieldOrder> <IsRequired>false</IsRequired> <Name>WebItemApplicationEnum</Name> <IsModified>false</IsModified> <ParentPageID>3</ParentPageID> <Type>Number</Type> <Value xsi:type="xsd:string">1</Value> </LitePropertyData> </Properties> <Seo> <Author>Phil Carney</Author> <Classification /> <Copyright>Carnotaurus</Copyright> <Description> What is the purpose of this option? The concern is that Bobby and Cynthia would not notice this because it does not ???understand??? what the JavaScript does. </Description> <Keywords>unused</Keywords> <Title>unused</Title> </Seo> </row> </rows> </root> EDIT Here are my entities: public class LitePropertyData { public virtual string Description { get; set; } public virtual bool DisplayEditUI { get; set; } public int OwnerTab { get; set; } public virtual string DisplayName { get; set; } public int FieldOrder { get; set; } public bool IsRequired { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public virtual bool IsModified { get; set; } public virtual int ParentPageID { get; set; } public LiteDataType Type { get; set; } public object Value { get; set; } } [Serializable] public class LitePageData { public String Guid { get; set; } public Int32 ID { get; set; } public String Name { get; set; } public Int32? • EF Code first + Delete Child Object from Parent?

    - by ebb
    I have a one-to-many relationship between my table Case and my other table CaseReplies. I'm using EF Code First and now wants to delete a CaseReply from a Case object, however it seems impossible to do such thing because it just tries to remove the CaseId from the specific CaseReply record and not the record itself.. short: Case just removes the relationship between itself and the CaseReply.. it does not delete the CaseReply. My code: // Case.cs (Case Object) public class Case { [Key] public int Id { get; set; } public string Topic { get; set; } public string Message { get; set; } public DateTime Date { get; set; } public Guid UserId { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } public virtual ICollection<CaseReply> Replies { get; set; } } // CaseReply.cs (CaseReply Object) public class CaseReply { [Key] public int Id { get; set; } public string Message { get; set; } public DateTime Date { get; set; } public int CaseId { get; set; } public Guid UserId { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } public virtual Case Case { get; set; } } // RepositoryBase.cs public class RepositoryBase<T> : IRepository<T> where T : class { public IDbContext Context { get; private set; } public IDbSet<T> ObjectSet { get; private set; } public RepositoryBase(IDbContext context) { Contract.Requires(context != null); Context = context; if (context != null) { ObjectSet = Context.CreateDbSet<T>(); if (ObjectSet == null) { throw new InvalidOperationException(); } } } public IRepository<T> Remove(T entity) { ObjectSet.Remove(entity); return this; } public IRepository<T> SaveChanges() { Context.SaveChanges(); return this; } } // CaseRepository.cs public class CaseRepository : RepositoryBase<Case>, ICaseRepository { public CaseRepository(IDbContext context) : base(context) { Contract.Requires(context != null); } public bool RemoveCaseReplyFromCase(int caseId, int caseReplyId) { Case caseToRemoveReplyFrom = ObjectSet.Include(x => x.Replies).FirstOrDefault(x => x.Id == caseId); var delete = caseToRemoveReplyFrom.Replies.FirstOrDefault(x => x.Id == caseReplyId); caseToRemoveReplyFrom.Replies.Remove(delete); return Context.SaveChanges() >= 1; } } Thanks in advance.

  • One of my most frequently used commands

    - by Kevin Smith
    On a Linux or UNIX server this is one of my most frequently used commands. find . -name "*.htm" -exec grep -iH "alter session" {} \; It is an easy way to find a string you know is in a group of files, but don't know or can't remember which file it is in. For the example above, I knew that WebCenter Content sends a bunch of alter session commands to the database when it opens a new database connection. I wanted to find where these were defined and what all the alter session commands were. So, I ran these commands: cd /opt/oracle/middleware/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/idc/resources/core find . -name "*.htm" -exec grep -iH "alter session" {} \; And the results were: ./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET optimizer_mode = ?./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS = ?./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT = ?./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP = ?./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET CURSOR_SHARING = ?./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS '30579 trace name context forever, level 2'./tables/query.htm: ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = ?./tables/query.htm: alter session set events '30579 trace name context forever, level 2' I could then go edit the query.htm file and find the include that contained all the ALTER SESSION commands.

  • How to rename an alias in PowerShell?

    - by jwfearn
    I want to make my own versions of some of the builtin PowerShell aliases. Rather than completely removing the overridden aliases, I'd like to rename them so I can still use them if I want to. For example, maybe I'll rename set to orig_set and then add my own new definition for set. This is what I've tried so far: PS> alias *set* CommandType Name Definition ----------- ---- ---------- Alias set Set-Variable PS> function Rename-Alias( $s0, $s1 ) { Rename-Item Alias:\$s0 $s1 -Force } PS> Rename-Alias set orig_set PS> alias *set* CommandType Name Definition ----------- ---- ---------- Alias set Set-Variable Any ideas as to why this isn't working?

  • How to update records based on sum of a field then use the sum to calc a new value in sql

    - by Casey
    Below is what i'm trying to do with by iterating through the records. I would like to have a more elegant solution if possible since i'm sure this is not the best way to do it in sql. set @counter = 1 declare @totalhrs dec(9,3), @lastemp char(7), @othrs dec(9,3) while @counter <= @maxrecs begin if exists(select emp_num from #tt_trans where id = @counter) begin set @nhrs = 0 set @othrs = 0 select @empnum = emp_num, @nhrs = n_hrs, @othrs = ot_hrs from #tt_trans where id = @counter if @empnum = @lastemp begin set @totalhrs = @totalhrs + @nhrs if @totalhrs > 40 begin set @othrs = @othrs + @totalhrs - 40 set @nhrs = @nhrs - (@totalhrs - 40) set @totalhrs = 40 end end else begin set @totalhrs = @nhrs set @lastemp = @empnum end update #tt_trans set n_hrs = @nhrs, ot_hrs = @othrs where id = @counter and can_have_ot = 1 end set @counter = @counter + 1 end Thx

  • Creating a Build Definition using the TFS 2010 API

    - by Jakob Ehn
    In this post I will show how to create a new build definition in TFS 2010 using the TFS API. When creating a build definition manually, using Team Explorer, the necessary steps are lined out in the New Build Definition Wizard:     So, lets see how the code looks like, using the same order. To start off, we need to connect to TFS and get a reference to the IBuildServer object: TfsTeamProjectCollection server = newTfsTeamProjectCollection(newUri("http://<tfs>:<port>/tfs")); server.EnsureAuthenticated(); IBuildServer buildServer = (IBuildServer) server.GetService(typeof (IBuildServer)); General First we create a IBuildDefinition object for the team project and set a name and description for it: var buildDefinition = buildServer.CreateBuildDefinition(teamProject); buildDefinition.Name = "TestBuild"; buildDefinition.Description = "description here..."; Trigger Next up, we set the trigger type. For this one, we set it to individual which corresponds to the Continuous Integration - Build each check-in trigger option buildDefinition.ContinuousIntegrationType = ContinuousIntegrationType.Individual; Workspace For the workspace mappings, we create two mappings here, where one is a cloak. Note the user of $(SourceDir) variable, which is expanded by Team Build into the sources directory when running the build. buildDefinition.Workspace.AddMapping("$/Path/project.sln", "$(SourceDir)", WorkspaceMappingType.Map); buildDefinition.Workspace.AddMapping("$/OtherPath/", "", WorkspaceMappingType.Cloak); Build Defaults In the build defaults, we set the build controller and the drop location. To get a build controller, we can (for example) use the GetBuildController method to get an existing build controller by name: buildDefinition.BuildController = buildServer.GetBuildController(buildController); buildDefinition.DefaultDropLocation = @\\SERVER\Drop\TestBuild; Process So far, this wasy easy. Now we get to the tricky part. TFS 2010 Build is based on Windows Workflow 4.0. The build process is defined in a separate .XAML file called a Build Process Template. By default, every new team team project containtwo build process templates called DefaultTemplate and UpgradeTemplate. In this sample, we want to create a build definition using the default template. We use te QueryProcessTemplates method to get a reference to the default for the current team project   //Get default template var defaultTemplate = buildServer.QueryProcessTemplates(teamProject).Where(p => p.TemplateType == ProcessTemplateType.Default).First(); buildDefinition.Process = defaultTemplate;   There are several build process templates that can be set for the default build process template. Only one of these are required, the ProjectsToBuild parameters which contains the solution(s) and configuration(s) that should be built. To set this info, we use the ProcessParameters property of thhe IBuildDefinition interface. The format of this property is actually just a serialized dictionary (IDictionary<string, object>) that maps a key (parameter name) to a value which can be any kind of object. This is rather messy, but fortunately, there is a helper class called WorkflowHelpers inthe Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Build.Workflow namespace, that simplifies working with this persistence format a bit. The following code shows how to set the BuildSettings information for a build definition: //Set process parameters varprocess = WorkflowHelpers.DeserializeProcessParameters(buildDefinition.ProcessParameters); //Set BuildSettings properties BuildSettings settings = newBuildSettings(); settings.ProjectsToBuild = newStringList("$/pathToProject/project.sln"); settings.PlatformConfigurations = newPlatformConfigurationList(); settings.PlatformConfigurations.Add(newPlatformConfiguration("Any CPU", "Debug")); process.Add("BuildSettings", settings); buildDefinition.ProcessParameters = WorkflowHelpers.SerializeProcessParameters(process); The other build process parameters of a build definition can be set using the same approach   Retention  Policy This one is easy, we just clear the default settings and set our own: buildDefinition.RetentionPolicyList.Clear(); buildDefinition.AddRetentionPolicy(BuildReason.Triggered, BuildStatus.Succeeded, 10, DeleteOptions.All); buildDefinition.AddRetentionPolicy(BuildReason.Triggered, BuildStatus.Failed, 10, DeleteOptions.All); buildDefinition.AddRetentionPolicy(BuildReason.Triggered, BuildStatus.Stopped, 1, DeleteOptions.All); buildDefinition.AddRetentionPolicy(BuildReason.Triggered, BuildStatus.PartiallySucceeded, 10, DeleteOptions.All); Save It! And we’re done, lets save the build definition: buildDefinition.Save(); That’s it!

  • Property overwrite behaviour

    - by jeremyj
    I thought it worth sharing about property overwrite behaviour because i found it confusing at first in the hope of preventing some learning pain for the uninitiated with MSBuild :-)The confusion for me came because of the redundancy of using a Condition statement in a _project_ level property to test that a property has not been previously set. What i mean is that the following two statements are always identical in behaviour, regardless if the property has been supplied on the command line -  <PropertyGroup>    <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' == '' ">PropA set at project level</PropA>  </PropertyGroup>has the same behaviour regardless of command line override as -  <PropertyGroup>     <PropA>PropA set at project level</PropA>   </PropertyGroup>  i.e. the two above property declarations have the same result whether the property is overridden on the command line or not.To prove this experiment with the following .proj file -<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><Project ToolsVersion="4.0" >  <PropertyGroup>    <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' == '' ">PropA set at project level</PropA>  </PropertyGroup>  <Target Name="Target1">    <Message Text="PropA: $(PropA)"/>  </Target>  <Target Name="Target2">    <PropertyGroup>      <PropA>PropA set in Target2</PropA>    </PropertyGroup>    <Message Text="PropA: $(PropA)"/>  </Target>  <Target Name="Target3">    <PropertyGroup>      <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' == '' ">PropA set in Target3</PropA>    </PropertyGroup>    <Message Text="PropA: $(PropA)"/>  </Target>  <Target Name="Target4">    <PropertyGroup>      <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' != '' ">PropA set in Target4</PropA>    </PropertyGroup>    <Message Text="PropA: $(PropA)"/>  </Target></Project>Try invoking it using both of the following invocations and observe its output -1)>msbuild blog.proj /t:Target1;Target2;Target3;Target42)>msbuild blog.proj /t:Target1;Target2;Target3;Target4 "/p:PropA=PropA set on command line"Then try those two invocations with the following three variations of specifying PropA at the project level -1)  <PropertyGroup>     <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' == '' ">PropA set at project level</PropA>   </PropertyGroup> 2)   <PropertyGroup>     <PropA>PropA set at project level</PropA>   </PropertyGroup>3)  <PropertyGroup>     <PropA Condition=" '$(PropA)' != '' ">PropA set at project level</PropA>   </PropertyGroup>
