    Hi, I'm unit-testing my SpringMVC (v. 2.5) controllers using code like the following: public void testParamValidation() { MyController controller = new MyController(); MockHttpServletRequest request = new MockHttpServletRequest(); request.addParameter("foo", "bar"); request.addParameter("bar", baz"); ModelAndView mav = controller .handleRequest(request, new MockHttpServletResponse()); // Do some assertions on mav } This controller is a subclass of AbstractCommandController, so the parameters are bound to a command bean, and any binding or validation errors are stored in an object that implements the Errors interface.     Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method?     My master page has a contentplaceholder in the head tag. Because I want my page's title to represent the function of the current page and because I want the title to be translated in the user's language I have added a title tag in the page's head's contentplaceholder. All jolly and good except that now there appears a second, empty title tag that off course isn't valid. Any ideas how to solve this?

    In my web.config I have the Role Manager configured as follows: <roleManager enabled="true" cacheRolesInCookie="true" cookieName=".ASPROLES" cookieTimeout="30" cookiePath="/" cookieRequireSSL="false" cookieSlidingExpiration="true" cookieProtection="All"> however in our custom RoleProvider it would seems that the GetRolesForUser method is always being called, rather than as I would have expected, the RoleManager serving up the roles from its cookie. We're using something like to get the roles for a user: string[] myroles = Role.GetRolesForUser("myuser"); Is there something that I'm missing in the configuration, or in the use of the RoleManager Thanks in advance

    Hello, I have a Class which models a User and another which models his country. Something like this: public class User{ private Country country; //other attributes and getter/setters } public class Country{ private Integer id; private String name; //other attributes and getter/setters } I have a Spring form where I have a combobox so the user can select his country or can select the undefined option to indicate he doen't want to provide this information. So I have something like this: <form:select path="country"> <form:option value="">-Select one-</form:option> <form:options items="${countries}" itemLabel="name" itemValue="id"/> </form:select> In my controller I get the autopopulated object with the user information and I want to have country set to null when the "-Select one-" option has been selected. So I have set a initBinder with a custom editor like this: @InitBinder protected void initBinder(WebDataBinder binder) throws ServletException { binder.registerCustomEditor(Country.class, "country", new CustomCountryEditor()); } and my editor do something like this: public class CustomCountryEditor(){ @Override public String getAsText() { //I return the Id of the country } @Override public void setAsText(String str) { //I search in the database for a country with id = new Integer(str) //and set country to that value //or I set country to null in case str == null } } When I submit the form it works because when I have country set to null when I have selected "-Select one-" option or the instance of the country selected. The problem is that when I load the form I have a method like the following one to load the user information. @ModelAttribute("user") public User getUser(){ //loads user from database } The object I get from getUser() has country set to a specific country (not a null value), but in the combobox is not selected any option. I've debugged the application and the CustomCountryEditor works good when setting and getting the text, thoughgetAsText method is called for every item in the list "countries" not only for the "country" field. Any idea? Is there a better way to set null the country object when I select no country option in the combobox? Thanks

    I just created my first MVC2 project using the standard template. I need to be able to change the default browser for my project to test in IE (I use chrome as the default on my OS). Unfortunately, the "right click on default.aspx" suggestion which worked in MVC1 can't work with these new projects as they don't have that file. I'm sure I'm overlooking something simple... Thanks.

  • Themeing and Master Pages

    I have the requirement to support themeing of my site's pages. The way I am doing this is by dynamically choosing a master page based on the current theme. I have setup a directory structure like so /shared/masterpages/theme1/Master1.master /shared/masterpages/theme1/Master2.master /shared/masterpages/theme1/Master3.master /shared/masterpages/theme2/Master1.master /shared/masterpages/theme2/Master2.master /shared/masterpages/theme2/Master3.master And I am still using the page directive in the view <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/shared/masterpages/theme1/Master1.Master"%> I would still like to leverage the view's MasterPageFile property and just change the theme directory. I can only think of three ways to do this none of them which sound great. Create a custom BaseView class that uses OnPreInit to change the theme like this Create some xml file or database table that links each view to a master page file and then set this in the controller. Build some tool that reads all the views and parses them for their masterpagefile, (similar to 2 but could be done at run time potentially.) Option 1 seems the best option to me so far. Does anyone else have any thoughts on how to do this?

  • Django model operating on a queryset

    I'm new to Django and somewhat to Python as well. I'm trying to find the idiomatic way to loop over a queryset and set a variable on each model. Basically my model depends on a value from an api, and a model method must multiply one of it's attribs by this api value to get an up-to-date correct value. At the moment I am doing it in the view and it works, but I'm not sure it's the correct way to achieve what I want. I have to replicate this looping elsewhere. Is there a way I can encapsulate the looping logic into a queryset method so it can be used in multiple places? I have this atm (I am using django-rest-framework): class FooViewSet(viewsets.ModelViewSet): model = Foo serializer_class = FooSerializer bar = # some call to an api def get_queryset(self): # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! foos = Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date') for item in foos: item.needs_bar = self.bar return items I would think something like so would be better: def get_queryset(self): bar = # some call to an api # Dynamically set the bar variable on each instance! return Foo.objects.filter(baz__pk=1).order_by('date').set_bar(bar) I'm thinking the api hit should be in the controller and then injected to instances of the model, but I'm not sure how you do this. I've been looking around querysets and managers but still can't figure it out nor decided if it's the best method to achieve what I want. Can anyone suggest the correct way to model this with django?   • Tablesorter, Color rows depending on an specific value

    Hi all, I've been looking around for a solution to this thing but I haven't found anything similar to what I'm looking for. The thing is that I've got a table filled with data from a database, and what I want is to change the background colour of an specific row depending on a value of the class I'm loading in each row. The thing is that I have to display some data but as the fields to be displayed are quite a lot, I don't have more space to show an status field, so I would like to show the row in red if the status is inactive, and the rest of the rows in the normal color of the blue stylesheet. Is there a way to do that through tablesorter? I'm opened to suggestions, as I'm not sure how to do it. Thank you all in advance, Victor
