• Occasional InterruptedException when quitting a Swing application

  I recently updated my computer to a more powerful one, with a quad-core hyperthreading processor (i7), thus plenty of real concurrency available. Now I'm occasionally getting the following error when quitting (System.exit(0)) an application (with a Swing GUI) that I'm developing: Exception while removing reference: java.lang.InterruptedException java.lang.InterruptedException at java.lang.Object.wait(Native Method) at java.lang.ref.ReferenceQueue.remove(ReferenceQueue.java:118) at java.lang.ref.ReferenceQueue.remove(ReferenceQueue.java:134) at sun.java2d.Disposer.run(Disposer.java:125) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Well, given that it started to happen with a more concurrency-capable hardware, and it has to do with threads, and it happens occasionally, it's obviously some kind of timing thing. But the problem is that the stack trace is so short. All I have is the listing above. It doesn't include my own code at all, so it's somewhat hard to guess where the bug is. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Any ideas how to start solving it?

  I have a custom implementation of IResourceProvider and ResourceProviderFactory. Now the default way of making sure ASP.NET uses these custom types is to use the web.config and specify the factory like so: <globalization resourceProviderFactoryType="Product.Globalization.TranslationResourceProviderFactory" /> This works perfectly, except that in my resource provider I need database access. I want to use my IoC-container(Ninject) to inject the repositories needed to access this data into the CustomResourceProvider. But how am I going to do this? I have no control over the instantiation of the factory, so the factory can't get a reference to my IoC. Is there any way to register a custom provider programmatically, in for example the Global.asax?

  Hi, I'd like to create a folder under a package in Eclipse... The purpose of this folder is merely for organizational purposes. Meaning, I don't want it to be another package. Every time I try to add a folder under a package, it just creates a package instead. I'd like to have the following structure: project/src/package1/someClass.java project/src/package1/someFOLDER/anotherClass.java project/src/package1/package2/anotherFOLDER/oneOtherClass.java Is it possible to do this without adding a package? I come from a .NET/C# and C++ background... here I'd just add a folder and the reference to that class would be updated in the project. How can I just add an organizational folder in eclipse? Thanks

All textures are .map. The attached image has the machine cofiguration with page file. here is the log file when the file crashes. what is the line in the log file mean. How to solve this. • Connect sortable lists together and update SQL using jQuery UI

  I'm using jQuery UI's sortable lists to sort items in a todo list, and the reordering of the lists works like a charm. I have several UL lists for each todo category, i.e. Design, Development, etc. I want to be able to move an item from one category to another, and jQuery UI's sortable lists plugin allows me to do this with the connectWith option parameter. But I can't seem to find how to update the database as well. The todo database table has a field for a reference to the category which is laying in it's own table. • Visual Studio - 'Browse UDDI Servers' -> 404 ?

  Hi - I have a ASP.Net application which implements a web service. Within the ASP.Net application there's a test script which consumes the web service and it all works etc. I have built a .NET console application and want to 'Add a Web Reference' so that the console app can consume the web service provided by the ASP.NET application. When I use the 'Browse UDDI Servers on the local network' to do that any plausible URL I use results in a 404. I'm guessing I need to do something to my ASP.Net application so that it acts as an UDDI server ? Does anyone know what ? Update I just wanted to clarify something - I'm not desperate to use UDDI it just seems that's the only option in my circumstances which are : I'm actually doing this for another developer who is used to using Visual Studio to do this stuff The other developers system will need to run on another machine within the same network.

• ASP.net Error in Design Mode

  I just switched to VS 2010, and upgraded a previous project. I'm getting the following error on a page in design mode for 2 controls: Error Creating Control - ObjectName Object reference not set to an instance of an object. One of them is a simple label, and the other is a ajax update panel. Other pages look fine. When I build and test the app, the page renders fine in the browser and functions fine - the label functions as expected and the content in the update panel works as expected. Any ideas why I'm getting this error? I tried some of the google results to no avail. It'd be great to get this out of the way. Thanks!

  I've got a string: (notice the spacing) eh oh 37 and I want it to become: eh oh 36 (so I want to keep the spacing) Using awk I don't find how to do it, so far I have: echo "eh oh 37" | awk '$3>=0&&$3<=99 {$3--} {print}' But this gives: eh oh 36 (the spacing characters where lost, because the field separator is ' ') Is there a way to ask awk something like "print the output using the exact same field separators as the input had"? Then I tried with sed, but got stuck after this: echo "eh oh 37" | sed -e 's/\([0-9][0-9]\)/.../' Can I do arithmetic from sed using a reference to the matching digits and have the output not modify the number of spacing characters? Note that it's related to my question concerning Emacs and how to apply this to some (big) Emacs region (using a replace region with Emacs's shell-command-on-region) but it's not an identical question: this one is specifically about how to "keep spaces" when working with awk/sed/etc.

• OS X contains heapsort in stdlib.h which conflicts with heapsort in sort library

  I'm using Ariel Faigon's sort library, found here: http://www.yendor.com/programming/sort/ I was able to get all my code working on Linux, but unfortunately, when trying to compile with GCC on Mac, its default stdlib.h contains another heapsort, which unfortunately results in a conflicting types error. Here's the man page for Apple heapsort: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man3/heapsort.3.html Commenting out the heapsort in the sort library header causes a whole heap of problems. (pardon the pun) I also briefly thought of commenting out my use of stdlib.h, but I use malloc and realloc, so that won't work at all. Any ideas?

  Hi guys I'm working with Zend framework and just hate the fact that I seem to encounter hundreds of exception errors like if I try to reference a non existant property of an object my application just dies and crashes. However I have no idea where to see these errors or how to be able to display them on screen. I've set display errors to true and error reporting to E_ALL but when an error is thrown all I see is a blank page rendered only until a bit before where the error apparently occurred or the exception was thrown. Help please my debugging hours are dragging

  I have uploaded the video into my rails application by using thoughtbot-paperclip then the video is converted into "flv" format by using ffmpeg. For your reference here I specified some of my model sample code: model.rb: has_attached_file :source,:styles => {:thumb => "137x85>" } If i specified :url or :path option it doesn't worked correctly. In my view I played my video by using the following line: <%= @model.source.url.gsub(/\?.*/,'')%> If i use <%= @model.source.url%>, the video is not played. When do the puts for video url it shows me the video URL as /source/original/sample/sample.fly?22000009. I knew that the last portion is a timestamp, but i want to use <%= @model.source.url%>. What's my mistake here can any one correct me please?

• referencing a WCF web service

  Our current project uses an asmx service. We want to keep this service for now, but would like to add an additional wcf service for ajax calls. I followed a procedure i found online to set up the service and it works fine with javascript in aspx files within that particular project but i'm unsure how to reference it in javascript files in a different project (in the same solution). • UIAlertView crashing on undocumented method

  Our app has been crashing with a frequency of roughly 1 in 1,500 launches due to a bug that is proving elusive. The relevant portion of the stack trace is included. It's being fired as a callback so I have no reference for where it's occurring in my own code. It looks like what's going on is there is a UIViewAnimationState object that is calling UIAlertView's private method (_popoutAnimationDidStop:finished:). Only problem is, it appears the UIAlertView has been dealloced by this point. I don't do anything weird with alert views. I throw them up, and I wait for user input. They are all shown before being released. Anyone encountered this? At this point, I'm leaning toward it being an Apple bug. • Webservice won't accept JSON requests

  Hi, The main issue is that I cannot run a webservice that accepts requests in JSON format. I keep getting a 500 Server error stating that the "request format is invalid." My ASP.NET AJAX extensions are installed. My server is running Plesk Control Panel 8.6 which is undoubtedly causing these problems. The default handler for this specified extension is shown in the web.config like so: For my applications webservice to handle JSON it needs to have this reference: <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> Plesk is not allowing the request to be handled properly. I need to know the correct http directive(s) to put into the web.config to properly handle JSON webservices. I tried posting to the Plesk forum two days ago but no response yet. Any insight would be great =)

  Hi Everyone, I have a working Rails application on version 2.3.5 - I am using many to many model relations and have got almost everything working. What I would like to do is on my new kase page show the most recent kase job ref at the top. So for example, if I created a new kase with a job ref of "001", if I then went to create a new kase it would show at the top "Your previous kases reference was 001". I have the field of jobref in the new kase form, so I am trying to workout what I need to do to output only the last jobref. If that makes sense! Thanks, Danny

• wcf class implementing two operation contracts in different service contracts with same name

  Hello, I have declared two service contracts as follows: [ServiceContract] public interface IContract1 { [OperationContract] double Add(int ip); } [ServiceContract] public interface IContract2 { [OperationContract] double Add(double ip); } I have a class which implements these two contracts. I have created two end points for both the contracts. But I'm not able to access the service from client code. It displays a big error when i try to update the service reference as: Metadata contains an error that cannot be resolved.... There was no endpoint listening at ... etc. I know that you can't have two OperationContracts with the same name but is it possible to have two operation contracts in different service contracts with same name but different signature? • SQL ConnectionString in global.asax overridden by web.config

  This is going to sound very odd, but I have a web.config like this: <connectionStrings> <remove name="LocalSqlServer"/> <add name="LocalSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=BACKUPDB;..." providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/> </connectionStrings> And a global.asax like this: void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs when a new session is started if (Application["con"] == null || Application["con"] == "") { Application["con"] = "Data Source=PRODUCTIONDB;..."; } } And EVERYWHERE in my code, I reference my ConnectionStrings like this: SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(Convert.ToString(HttpContext.Current.Application["con"])); However, I see that everything I do inside this application goes to BACKUP db instead of PRODUCTIONDB. What is going on, how could this happen, and why? It doesn't make any sense to me, and it got me into a lot of trouble. We use LocalSqlServer string for FormsAuthentication.

However, when I replace MyDynamicString in the Where clause with the full left(left(etc.. function, it works as expected. Can I not reference this string later in the query? Do I have to build it using the left(left(etc.. function each time in the where clause?

  Hi, I have an API which I am turning into an internal DSL. As such, most methods in my PoJos return a reference to this so that I can chain methods together declaratively as such (syntactic sugar). myComponent .setID("MyId") .setProperty("One") .setProperty2("Two") .setAssociation(anotherComponent) .execute(); My API does not depend on Spring but I wish to make it 'Spring-Friendly' by being PoJo friendly with zero argument constructors, getters and setters. The problem is that Spring seems to not detect my setter methods when I have a non-void return type. The return type of this is very convenient when chaining together my commands so I don't want to destroy my programmatic API just be to compatible with Spring injection.
