  • How can text be set on both the left and right sides of a line in Word?

    - by Lord Torgamus
    Is it possible to set Microsoft Word to display some text left-aligned and other text right-aligned on a single line? Here's an example of what I mean: | Chickens, turkey and duck 30 | | Cows 240 | | Pigs and boar 83 | | Sheep Not applicable | where the vertical lines denote the sides of the page. The full justify option won't work because I don't want anything in the middle of the lines. The table of contents option has the formatting I want, but only supports page numbers, which does me no good.

    - by gadym
    hello there, I would like to know how to add a color to a line in sharepoint 2007 list if in one field there is a specific text contained ? for example : I have a list that have three fields: list1 1.id 2.name 3.full description now i want to show only the first and the second field to the user. list1 id name 1 abc 2 edv second thing, i want to give a color (let say red) to a row that contains in the hidden field - "full description", a text with the word for example 'color'. I found a javascript code that i can add to the aspx page : (document).ready(function(){ $Text = $("td .ms-vb2:contains('color')"); $Text.parent().css("background-color", "red"); }); but it's only works if the the "full description" is shown. can someone give me an idea ? thanks, gadym

  • can i quickly run entire page's text through a function on page load?

    - by korben
    i have setup a profanity filter with bad words in a XML file and have the following function to run on my page to replace the words: BadWordFilter.Instance.GetCleanString(TextBox1.Text); i'm about to go through my entire site now wrapping that function around every little text variable one by one and it's going to be a huge pain in the butt i'm hoping there's a way that i could just set my masterpage to automatically run all text through this thing on any page_load, so that the effect would be site-wide instantly. is this possible? much appreciated for any help

  • How to determine a text block of a file in one version come from which file in the previous version?

    - by Muhammad Asaduzzaman
    The problem is described below: Suppose I have a list of files in one version(say A,B,C,D). In the next version I have the following files(A,E,F,G). There are some similarities in their contents. The files in the later version comes from the previous version by file name renaming, content addition, deletion or partial modification or without any change( for example A is not changed). I take a block of text from a file(E, 2nd version) and check which files(in the 1st version) contain this text block. I found that B,C and D contain the text fragment. I want to determine from which file(B or c or d) this text block actually comes from.(I assume that E is a file whose name change in the second version). Since the contents may be changed, added or deleted in the later version, so in order to determine similarity I use LCS algorithm. But I cannot map the file with its previous version. I think one possible approach might be to use the location information of the match text blocks. But this heuristics not always work. Is there any research or algorithm exist to find so. Any direction will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • How do i return a template class from a template function?

    - by LoudNPossiblyRight
    It looks logical but for some reason when i uncomment the last cout line, this code does not compile. How do i return a template class? What do i have to do to this code to make it work? #include<iostream> using namespace std; template <int x> class someclass{ public: int size; int intarr[x]; someclass():size(x){} }; template<int x, int y> int somefunc(someclass<x> A, someclass<y> B){ return ( A.size > B.size ? A.size : B.size); } template<int x, int y, int z> someclass<x> anotherfunc(someclass<y> A, someclass<z> B){ return ( A.size > B.size ? A : B); } int main(){ someclass<5> A; someclass<10> B; cout << "SIZE = " << somefunc(A,B) << endl; //cout << "SIZE = " << (anotherfunc(A,B)).size << endl; //THIS DOES NOT COMPILE return 0; }

  • How can I determine the sector size on an external hard drive?

    - by sigint
    Hard drives are transitioning from 512 byte to 4096 byte sector sizes, and it looks like Windows XP won't support these newer drives without additional software (such as WDalign from Western Digital) My question is: how does this affect external hard drives? I'll be buying a 1TB USB external drive, and it'll be plugged into a mix of Windows 7 and XP machines. Is there an easy way to tell what the sector size on an external hard drive is?

  • Using jQuery, how to modify text outside of tags?

    - by Jacob
    Given a string of text that is both adjacent to a span and inside of a div, what are some methods to modify just that text, leaving the surrounding HTML intact? For example: <div id="my-div">modify this text<span id="my-span"></span></div> I have tried things like $('#my-div').html(function(i, elem){blah;}); but this seems to cause the span to be deleted and a new span to be added, because some styling is lost. I realize that it would be best to wrap the text string in its own HTML tags before applying client-side code, but that is out of my control.

  • How can I set a minimum thumbnail size with ImageMagick?

    - by Zilk
    I'm trying to create thumbnails of JPG photos using ImageMagick's convert tool. The thumbnails need to have a defined size (210x159), no blank areas, and the image can be cropped if necessary. Unfortunately, I only have ImageMagick 6.3.7 available, which doesn't support the '^' geometry modifier (added in v6.3.8-3). Is there another way to achieve this in earlier versions of ImageMagick? Thanks in advance.

  • Windows 7 batch files: How to write string to text file without carriage return AND trailing space?

    - by oscilatingcretin
    I am trying to have my batch file write a string of text to a text file. At first, the command I was using was writing an extra carriage return to the end of the string, but I found this command that prevented that: echo|set /p=hello>hello.txt However, now it's putting a trailing space at the end. I need only the string I specify to be written without any extra characters. Is this possible?

  • C++ Array vs vector

  • Update on: How to model random non-overlapping spheres of non-uniform size in a cube using Matlab?

    - by user3838079
    I am trying to use MATLAB for generating random locations for non-uniform size spheres (non-overlapping) in a cube. The for loop in the code below never seems to end. I don't know what am missing in the code. I have ran the code for no. of spheres (n) = 10; dims = [ 10 10 10 ] function [ c r ] = randomSphere( dims ) % creating one sphere at random inside [0..dims(1)]x[0..dims(2)]x... % radius and center coordinates are sampled from a uniform distribution % over the relevant domain. % output: c - center of sphere (vector cx, cy,... ) % r - radius of sphere (scalar) r = rand(1); % you might want to scale this w.r.t dims or other consideration c = r + rand( size(dims) )./( dims - 2*r ); % make sure sphere does not exceed boundaries function ovlp = nonOverlapping( centers, rads ) % check if several spheres with centers and rads overlap or not ovlp = false; if numel( rads ) == 1 return; % nothing to check for a single sphere end dst = sqrt( sum( bsxfun( @minus, permute( centers, [1 3 2] ),... permute( centers, [3 1 2] ) ).^2, 3) ); ovlp = dst >= bsxfun( @plus, rads, rads.' ); %' all distances must be smaller than r1+r2 ovlp = any( ovlp(:) ); % all must not overlap function [centers rads] = sampleSpheres( dims, n ) % dims is assumed to be a row vector of size 1-by-ndim % preallocate ndim = numel(dims); centers = zeros( n, ndim ); rads = zeros( n, 1 ); ii = 1; while ii <= n [centers(ii,:), rads(ii) ] = randomSphere( dims ); if nonOverlapping( centers(1:ii,:), rads(1:ii) ) ii = ii + 1; % accept and move on end end

  • How to count the letters in a text with Javascript?

    - by Doguhanca
    I am currently trying to write a ''web application'' that has a simple text area inside, in which I want the letters of the text written to be pointed out. For example, if I write: ''How old are you? I am 19 years old'' I need a code to tell me how many 'A's and 'Y's and 'D's (and all letters of the alphabet from 0-26) are used in this sentence when I press a button on a HTML/ CSS page. Could you please tell me what I must write into my .JS file and what I should write into my .HTML file to do this with a click of a button when something is written in the ? I hope my explanation was detailed enough. Thanks! Edit (I'm very sorry for the problems I caused) - What I have done so far looks like this: HTML: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="theme.css"> <meta charset="utf-8"> <script src="test.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <div class='header'> Al.Fa.Be </div> <div class='yaz'> <textarea></textarea> </div> <div class='description'> <a href='http://www.google.com'>Ara</a> </div> <div class='description2'> <input id="clickMe" type="button" value="Hesapla" onclick="doFunction();" /> </div> CSS: body{ background:white; } selection{ background:#CCC; } #clickMe{ background:#CCC; border:1px solid #333; } .header{ font-size:70px; font-weight:bold; font-family:Arial; color:#333; margin-left:580px; padding-top:200px; } textarea{ width:1210px; height:40px; color:black; margin-top:20px; margin-left:100px; padding-left:10px; padding-top:10px; font-size:18px; font-family:Arial; } .description{ background:#f2f2f2; padding:6px; width:50px; text-align:center; border:1px solid #ddd; font-family:Arial; margin-left:620px; margin-top:20px; font-size:14px; } .description a{ color:#555; text-decoration:none; } .description2{ background:#f2f2f2; padding:6px; width:60px; text-align:center; border:1px solid #ddd; font-family:Arial; margin-left:750px; margin-top:-30px; font-size:14px; } .description2 a{ color:#555; text-decoration:none; } .yaz{ color:white; } Javascript: // Input name.   • Is there a prefered way to specify a text column in SQLite?

    - by JannieT
    Since the SQLite engine will not truncate the data you store in a text column, is there any advantage in being specific with column sizes when you define your schema? Would anyone prefer this: CREATE TABLE contact( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, name VARCHAR(45), title VARCHAR(10) ); over this: CREATE TABLE contact( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, name TEXT, title TEXT ); Why? Are there advantages to not being specific?

  • How do I set font size to 0px in IE6?

    - by Justin808
    I have an unordered list, I'm trying to hide the text in the list. I can do this 2 ways that i know of: font-color: transparent; font-size: 0px; I prefer the 0px method as its not selectable. This issue is neither way works in IE6. The first way just doesn't work in IE6 at all, the 2nd leave a 1PX high font. Is there a way to hide the text in IE6? This is a visual thing, I know you can read the text by reading the source and that is OK, I just need it to visually not be there.
