    - by Ilya Biryukov
Hey I have this kinda structure in my ini file I want to be able parse a variable inside a variable value site.url = "www.example.com" site.url.images = site.url "/images" However, site.url is not parsed inside the site.url.images. I am using zend config ini to parse my ini files. Is there a solution beside adding this feature myself?

  • PHP: testing for existence of a cell in a multidimensional array

    - by gidireich
Hi, I have an array with numerous dimensions. Want to test for existence of a cell. The below cascaded approach, will be for sure a safe way to do it: if (array_key_exists($arr, 'dim1Key')) if (array_key_exists($arr['dim1Key'], 'dim2Key')) if (array_key_exists($arr['dim1Key']['dim2Key'], 'dim3Key')) echo "cell exists"; But it there a simpler way? I'll go into more details about this: 1. Can I perform this check in one single statement? 2. Do I have to use array_key_exist or can I use something like isset? Will appreciate if someone explains when to use each and why Thanks Gidi

  • Usage of ||, OR in PHP

    - by shin
    I have the following code which redirect pages depends on $path. ... $path = $this->uri->segment(3); $pathid = $this->uri->segment(4); if($path=='forsiden'){ redirect('','refresh'); }elseif($path =='contact'){ redirect('welcome/kontakt','refresh'); }elseif($path =='illustration'){ $this->_gallery($path,$pathid); }elseif($path =='webdesign'){ redirect('welcome/webdesign','refresh'); }elseif($path==('web_tjenester' || 'webdesigndetails' || 'vismahjemmeside' || 'joomla' || 'vismanettbutikk' || 'vpasp' || 'artportfolio')){ ... CODE A ... }else{ ... CODE B ... } I am not getting right results with $path==('web_tjenester' || 'webdesigndetails' || 'vismahjemmeside' || 'joomla' || 'vismanettbutikk' || 'vpasp' || 'artportfolio') contact, illustration, gallery and webdesign are redirected and working alright. However all other pages are added CODE A. I am expecting CODE A only when $path is web_tjenester', 'webdesigndetails', 'vismahjemmeside', 'joomla', 'vismanettbutikk', 'vpasp' or 'artportfolio'. Could anyone point out my mistake and correct me please? Thanks in advance. --UPDATE-- The following works, but is there any ways shorten the code? I am repeating ($path==..). elseif(($path=='web_tjenester') || ($path=='webdesigndetails') || ($path=='vismahjemmeside') || ($path=='joomla') || ($path=='vismanettbutikk') || ($path=='vpasp') || ($path=='artportfolio')){

  • PHP regex to match sentences that contain a year

    - by zen
I need a regular expression that will extract sentences from text that contain a year in them. Example text: Next, in 1988 the Bradys were back again for a holiday celebration, "A Very Brady Christmas". Susan Olsen (Cindy) would be missing from this reunion, Jennifer Runyon took her place. This was a two hour movie in which the Bradys got together to celebrate Christmas, introducing the world to the spouses and children of the Brady kids. This movie was the highest rated TV-movie of 1988. If the example text was variable $string, I need it to return: $sentenceWithYear[0] = Next, in 1988 the Bradys were back again for a holiday celebration, "A Very Brady Christmas". $sentenceWithYear[1] = This movie was the highest rated TV-movie of 1988. If it's possible to retain the year via regex, I'd use the year within the sentence and eventually insert the sentences into a database like: INSERT INTO table_name (year, sentence) VALUES ('$year', '$sentenceWithYear[x]')

  • PHP DateTime Regex

    - by CogitoErgoSum
Hey, long story short I have inherited some terrible code. As a result a string comparison is buggy when comparing dates due to the format of the date. I am trying to convert the date to a valid DateFormat syntax so I can run a proper comparison. These are some samples of the current format: 12/01/10 at 8:00PM 12/31/10 at 12:00PM 12/10/09 at 5:00AM and so forth. I'd like to convert this to a YYYYMMDDHHMM format i.e 201012012000 for comparison purposes. If anyone can give me a quick regex snippet to do this that'd be appreciated as right now i'm hitting a brick wall for a regex. I can do it by exploding the string over several times etc but I'd rather do it in a more efficient manner. Thanks!

  • Creating PDF's using PHP

Does anyone know of another script or even a better way in general to generate PDF files? The reason why I am converting HTML to PDF is because I want someone to use a WYSIWYG editor to create the contents and click save to generate their PDF file... Any input would be greatly apprecaited

  • Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 93 bytes) error in php

    - by Chris
    I inserted the following code: $counter = 1; while($_POST['additional_contact1'] != '' || $_POST['additional_contact2'] != '' || $_POST['additional_contact3'] != '') { if($_POST['additional_contact' . $counter] != '') { $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_contact'] = $_POST['additional_contact' . $counter]; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_int_prefix'] = $_POST['additional_int_prefix' . $counter]; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_prefix'] = $_POST['additional_prefix' . $counter]; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_first'] = $_POST['additional_first' . $counter]; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_last'] = $_POST['additional_last' . $counter]; } else { $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_contact'] = null; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_int_prefix'] = null; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_prefix'] = null; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_first'] = null; $_SESSION['contact'][$counter]['additional_last'] = null; } $counter++; } and I received this error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 93 bytes) I tried to increase the memory limit with ini_set(), but it still won't work at 96M. What am I doing wrong with my code to make it need so much memory? How can I solve this problem?

  • PHP XML Validation

    - by efritz
    What's the best way to validate an XML file (or a portion of it) against multiple XSD files? For example, I have the following schema for a configuration loader: <xsd:schema xmlns="http://www.kauriproject.org/schema/configuration" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://www.kauriproject.org/schema/configuration" elementFormDefault="qualified"> <xsd:element name="configuration" type="configuration" /> <xsd:complexType name="configuration"> <xsd:choice maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xsd:element name="import" type="import" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" /> <xsd:element name="section" type="section" /> </xsd:choice> </xsd:complexType> <xsd:complexType name="section"> <xsd:sequence> <xsd:any minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" processContents="lax" /> </xsd:sequence> <xsd:attribute name="name" type="xsd:string" use="required" /> <xsd:attribute name="type" type="xsd:string" use="required" /> </xsd:complexType> <xsd:complexType name="import" mixed="true"> <xsd:attribute name="resource" type="xsd:string" /> </xsd:complexType> </xsd:schema> As the Configuration class exists now, it lets one add a <section> tag with a define concrete parser class (much like custom configuration sections in ASP.NET). However, I'm unsure of how to validate the section being parsed. If it possible to validate just this section of code with an XSD file/string without writing it back to a file?

  • While loops within while loops and output php?

    - by NovacTownCode
I have a while loop to show the replies for a post on my website. The value for parentID used in the query is $post['postID'] which is an array of details for the post being viewed. As seen below it outputs the following (each subject is a link to view the full post) $q = $dbc -> prepare("SELECT * FROM boardposts WHERE parentID = ?"); $q -> execute(array($post['postID'])); while ($postReply = $q -> fetch(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC)) { echo '<p><a href="http://www.example.com/boards?topic=' . $_GET['topic'] . '&amp;view=' . $postReply['postID'] . '">' . $postReply['subject'] . '</a>'; } This currently outputs something along the lines of, Replies To This Message: subject 1 subject 2 subject 3 subject 4 Is there a way in which I can also in the list include replies to the replies, something along the lines of, Replies To This Message: subject 1          subject 1 reply          subject 1 reply                  subject 1 reply reply subject 2 subject 3          subject 3 reply          subject 3 reply                  subject 3 reply reply subject 4          subject 4 reply subject 5 subject 6          subject 6 reply                  subject 4 reply reply I understand all the indenting can be with css, but am stuck as to how to pull the data from the mysql database and in the correct order, I tried while loops within while loops, but that involved queries inside while loops, which is bad! Thanks for your input!

  • PHP's SimpleXML not handling &#8217 ; properly

    - by Matty
I'm parsing an RSS feed that has an &#8217; in it. SimpleXML turns this into a ’. What can I do to stop this? Just to answer some of the questions that have come up - I'm pulling an RSS feed using CURL. If I output this directly to the browser, the &#8217; displays as ’ which is what's expected. When I create a new SimpleXMLElement using this, (e.g. $xml = new SimpleXmlElement($raw_feed); and dump the $xml variable, every instance of &#8217; is replaced with ’. It appears that SimpleXML is having trouble with UTF-8 ampersand encoded characters. (The XML declaration specifies UTF-8.) I do have control over the feed after CURL has retrieved the feed before it's used to construct a SimpleXML element.

A push in the right direction would be a great help... or is there any other forum that can be easily used.

  • PHP PDO MySQL IN (?,?,?...

    - by nute
I want to write a MySQL statement like: SELECT * FROM someTable WHERE someId IN (value1, value2, value3, ...) The trick here is that I do not know ahead of time how many values there will be in the IN(). Obviously I know I can generate the query on the go with string manipulations, however since this will run in a loop, I was wondering if I could do it with a PDO PreparedStatement. Something like: $query = $PDO->prepare('SELECT * FROM someTable WHERE someId IN (:idList)'); $query->bindValue(':idList', implode(',', $idArray)); Is that possible?

  • MySQLi PHP: Check if SQL INSERT query was fully successful using MySQLi

    - by Jonathan
Hi, I have this big function that gets a lot of different data and insert it into multiple tables.. Not all the data is always available so not all the SQL INSERT queries are successful. I need to check which SQL INSERT query was fully successful and which wasn't to the do something with this data (like inserting into a log table or similar). Just to give you an example of how I think it can be done: $sql = 'INSERT INTO data_table (ID, column1, column2) VALUES(?, ?, ?)'; if ($stmt->prepare($sql)) { $stmt->bind_param('iss', $varID, $var1, $var2); if ($stmt->execute()) { $success == TRUE; //or something like that } } I'm not completely sure this is the best way and if its always really show if the data was inserted into the table... Any suggestions??

  • PHP mySQL count number of fields not empty

    - by Pez Cuckow
I have a database of users where they can send messages to other users (up to four) and the ID of the message they sent is in their user row. e.g. Name, Email, Msg1, Msg2, Msg3, Msg4 Pez, [email protected], 1, 55, 42, 5 //Send 4 messages Steve, [email protected], 0, 0, 0, 0 //Send 0 messages Leon, [email protected], 3, 0, 3, 5 //Send 3 messages How in a MySQL query can I get the amount of those message rows that are not empty or not equal to 0, allowing me to order by that? So it would return Pez - 4 Mesasges Leon - 3 Messages Steve - 0 Messages Im my mind something like order by count(!empty(msg1)+!empty(msg2)+!empty(msg3)+!empty(msg4)) Many thanks,

  • PHP's PDO Prepare Method Fails While in a Loop

    - by Andrew G. Johnson
Given the following code: // Connect to MySQL up here $example_query = $database->prepare('SELECT * FROM table2'); if ($example_query === false) die('prepare failed'); $query = $database->prepare('SELECT * FROM table1'); $query->execute(); while ($results = $query->fetch()) { $example_query = $database->prepare('SELECT * FROM table2'); if ($example_query === false) die('prepare failed'); //it will die here } I obviously attempt to prepare statements to SELET everything from table2 twice. The second one (the one in the WHILE loop) always fails and causes an error. This is only on my production server, developing locally I have no issues so it must be some kind of setting somewhere. My immediate thought is that MySQL has some kind of max_connections setting that is set to 1 and a connection is kept open until the WHILE loop is completed so when I try to prepare a new query it says "nope too many connected already" and shits out. Any ideas? EDIT: Yes I know there's no need to do it twice, in my actual code it only gets prepared in the WHILE loop, but like I said that fails on my production server so after some testing I discovered that a simple SELECT * query fails in the WHILE loop but not out of it. The example code I gave is obviously very watered down to just illustrate the issue.

  • PHP calling and displaying CSS in different browser.

    - by user147685
I'm having problem with CSS where, when I run on Mozilla Firefox the CSS is doing fine. But when I run inside Internet Explorer, the CSS is not working. When I try to change the code in the CSS file, it works otherwise. Mozilla is OK, but Internet Explorer is not. I have an idea calling 2 different CSS. For example, style_IE.css and style_moz.css. Both CSS files will be called from header.html. How can I fix this problem? Is there some code that can distinguish between browsers? Whenever the user is running in Internet Explorer, then style_IE is called if not it otherwise.
