• Multilingual support using gettext with codeigniter, best practice?

  I know how to create .po files and how to generate .mo files and then use them for translation on my Codeigniter powered site. However, I'm not quite sure on how to change language from the site GUI. I want to stick to codeigniter's default url calling schema: www.domain.com/controllername/method/param1/param2. Calling the server like this is a no-brainer: www.domain.com/controllername?lang=en Doing that for every controller using the default url schema, requires me to implement the same method in every controller, just to pass the lang parameter to the setlocale() function and then bind to my .po domain name. Feels awkward... ANy ideas how you guys work with gettext in codeigniter? And yes, I do want to work with gettext.

• How to use MSBuild to create ClickOnce files that match those created by Visual Studio

  I am trying to use MSBuild in a TFS Build file to create click once files for my application. According to MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms165431.aspx) it seems that the project file's click once settings should be used unless you override them with property arguments on the command line. However, even though I have specified (in VS) that some prerequisites should be bootstrapped in with the setup, they don't seem to get installed if I use the MSBuild command line to create the package, even though they do seem to get installed if I use Visual Studio to create the ClickOnce package. Please could someone advise me how to get my prerequisites to get installed via ClickOnce when the clickonce package is built using the MSBuild command line? For information, in Visual Studio, project properties, "Publish" tab, "Prerequisite" button, I have ticked "Create setup program to install prerequisite components", I have ticked my pre-requisites and I have specified "Download prerequisites from the component vendor's web site"

• Ruby equivalent of PHP's fopen() method

  I'm trying to find out if Ruby has en equivalent of php's fopen() method currently used like this: $fd = fopen("php://stdin", "r"); would that be using ARGV variable? Basically what I plan on doing is forward raw e-mail messages using the .procmailrc file which I already got working in a test php file, but the project requires the use of Ruby. Therefore I'm not 100% sure if using the ARGV variable would work or if somehow I need to capture the e-mail stream by some other means. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

  I'm using the zend currency module to manage currencies in a web app. I can't figure out how to create a custom format for my currencies, since there are no examples on the documentation pages: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.currency.options.html From what I read there, I could use the format parameter to set a format, but I can't find a way how. Does anyone have a good code example for this problem? currently I do the following: $currency->setFormat(array (display' => Zend_Currency::USE_SYMBOL)); That works to display only the symbol, but I'm also interested in putting an extra space after or before the symbol and to display currencies like this: "$ 1,234.56 USD" "€ 1.234,56 EUR"

  Question: I am implementing an OpenSource version of Microbosoft Sync framework, [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...isplaylang=en] (Checkout: git clone [email protected]:quandary/SyncFramework.git) but I ran into a unittest problem. I added a nunit test-project to the C# project, but it's not compiling... I created the project on Windows, and there it compiled well. On Linux, the project compiles well, but compiling the unittest, I always get: Assembly 'nunit.framework, Version=2.5.5.10112, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=96d09 My problem now is I installed nunit and added a reference to it (on Linux with mono), but I still get this message, I take out 'require specific version', and I still get this message... I also removed the windows reference to nunit, but still no change.

Like if the date is "May 26 2008" then we can define format "MMM dd yyyy" and date will be matched. But if date is in some string like "Abc May 26 2008" then date will not be matched.So for that can we use regular expression here ? If yes how ?

  Hi, For some reason, I want to serve my robots.txt via a PHP script. I have setup apache so that the robots.txt file request (infact all file requests) come to a single PHP script. The code I am using to render robots.txt is: echo "User-agent: wget\n"; echo "Disallow: /\n"; However, it is not processing the newlines. How to server robots.txt correctly, so search engines (or any client) see it properly? Do I have to send some special headers for txt files? • How to properly use .SWC packages in Flash CS 4

  Hi! I've googled a lot trying to find how to properly import and use .swc files in Flash CS 4, tried lots of different methods but none seem to work. What I've done is: 1. Placed it in my "D:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\en\Configuration\Components" folder. It does however not show up in the component inspector. 2. Added it in Publishing Settings as a Library and External Library, still can't seem to use it. I've also tried adding "import org.osflash.signals;" after each method but I receive the error "1172: Definition org.osflash:signals could not be found." So what I'm asking for is an easy way to get the .swc package working code-wise with all classes imported etc. The .swc file is as you may have guessed as3signals. Thanks in advance.

  I have a WPF control1 (has a moving control) that is hosted through elementhost on a windows form. My aim is to capture the mouse move events for the elementhost. In order to fix this issue, I added a button on top of elementhost and set its Visible property to Hidden. Still I get fake mouse move events.. How to fix this issue? Is there any workaround? • Keycodes of function keys with F-lock off?

  Many recent keyboard from Microsoft and Logitech have a so-called F-Lock key, which toggles the function keys F1 to F12 between their traditional keycodes and new meanings that are printed onto the keys: F1=Help F2=Undo F3=Redo F4=Open ... . (See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-Lock.) This means that long-established shortcuts such as Alt+F4 no longer work if the F-lock is off, and googling shows that quite a few people are unhappy about this. So I'm wondering, what virtual key (VK) codes do the function keys send when F-lock is off? VK_F13 to VK_F24 perhaps? Or do they not trigger standard keyboard events at all? (I haven't got such a keyboard to try and find out myself, and didn't manage to dig up anything on MSDN about this.)

Example: Lets say I have a timer on my page, that executes some javascript every 20 seconds. The execution time for the timer handler is 1 second. Does firefox and ie treat each call of the timer function seperatly, so it never goes over the limit, or is it that firefox/ie adds up the time of each call so after the handler finishes, so after 200 seconds on my site (with the timer called 10 times) an error occurs even though the timer handler itself is only 1 second long?

  I would like to format a DateTime to a string containing the month name abbreviated and the date for use in axislabels in a graph. The default DateTime format strings do not contain abbreviated month. I guess there is no standard but I could take a substring of the first 3 characters of the month name and replace this into the MonthDay format. But, hope there is an easy way to do it in dynamic language like groovy. say I have a class Service, where I delegate the business logic. the methods in it are funA(), funB()... funX(). Now I have a controller class, where I call the service closure, which can be invoked like service.funA() . Now based on a variable (which can have values A, B ... X), I need to cal the correct service closure. Basically to avoid writing lot of if conditional statements. Something like service."fun+var"() would do. I'm not sure whether it is possible to substitute variable in closure (function)name. or any way by passing function (name) as a parameter...not sure I think PHP has a similar feature http://php.net/manual/en/functions.variable-functions.php thanks for any pointer..
