• Flash swf to play PCM WAV files?

  I am in need of a Flash swf that is capable of loading PCM WAV files via a url passed to it. An example of the file can be found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff512405.aspx The swf does not need a visible interface, as it is meant for audio playing only and not user interaction. The swf should have a simple javascript interface for page-level interactions. These include: load(url): loads a PCM WAV file over the internet using the url that is passed through it. play(): Should play the PCM WAV file that was loaded stop(): Should stop playing the current file. I can provide a sample audio file that matches the specifications if the developer is unable to obtain a url from the link posted above.

  Hi i have a error like " dbFileName cannot be opened because it is version 655. This server supports version 612 and earlier. • XMPP TLS connection with SslStream

  I am trying to create a simple xmpp client that connects to Gtalk. The first part of the handshake seems to work. Ror the TLS handshake I created a client SslStream, connected to the intended server (talk.google.com) and successfully got authenticated . The first SSlStream.Read is to receive the greeting reply, it went fine . I do a SslStream.write to send my first command, but when i do my Sslstream.Read() to get the reply , i get this error."System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." Can anyone point me to the right direction?   I have a multiple language website, that uses subdirectories from the root ('/en' for english and '/es' for spanish) for each specific language. Each redirect appends a get variable to the URL, and hides it using a 'P' flag for proxy. My current htaccess file for the spanish subfolder is: Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=10 RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^(.*)\.html$ $1.php RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1?l=es [P,R=301,L] The problem is that I also want to append the 'www' to the domain if it was left off. The proxy redirect does not show the 'www.' Is it possible to place a rewriterule before that final one that will append the www, and then still process the final one?

  Is it possible to detect if an ascii character belongs to Asian double byte or Cyrillic character sets? Perhaps specific code ranges? I've googled, but not finding anything at first glance. There's an RSS feed I'm tapping into that has the locale set as 'en-gb'. But there are some Asian double byte characters in the feed itself - which I need to handle differently. Just not sure how to detect it since the meta locale data is incorrect. I do not have access to correct the public feed.

  I have a backend service and front-end services. They communicate via the trusted subsystem pattern. I want to transfer a username from the frontend to the backend and do this via username credentials as found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms730288.aspx This does not work in our scenerio where the front-end builds a backend service channel factory via: channelFactory = new ChannelFactory<IBackEndService>(.....); Creating a new channel is done via die channel factory. I can only set the credentials one time after that I get an exception that the username object is read-only. channelFactory.Credentials.Username.Username = "myCoolFrontendUser"; var channel = channelFactory.CreateChannel(); Is there a way to create the channel factory only one time as this is expensive to create and then specify username credential when creating a channel?

But then TypeError: Sys.Data.OpenDataContext is not a constructor What shall I do to be able to call the service the way they do it on the first link? What are the scripts and resources needed?   i built an appengine web app cricket.hover.in. The web app consists of about 15k url's linked in it, But even after a long time of my launch, no pages are indexed on google. Any base link place on my root site hover.in are being indexed with in minutes. but i placed the same link home page of root site a long back. but its of no use. can any one analyse , if there is any issue with cricket.hover.in or if bots have any issues with Google app engine actually tested the url using labs app of webmaster tools of google there the return is fine and html is clear. but when tested the same (cricket.hover.in) at the following urls its showing different results of failure www.dnsqueries.com/en/googlebot_simulator.php www.smart-it-consulting.com/internet/google/googlebot-spoofer/ but if i test some of my php or word press links at the above url's the results are good and fine. please help me with this.

  I have a Windows 2008 R2 server running on a VM machine. My .NET service is running on this server periodically querying WMI, for example: SELECT ProcessId FROM Win32_Service WHERE ... After a day or two WMIprvse takes up to 500M memory and WMI queries start getting out of memory exceptions. Google yielded a few results in antique Java and Python, but no modern implementations. I am curious if I have to write my own parser. Do you know of a modern implementation in C# or Java? In case there really are no parsers available, how should I implement one? Are there general guidelines or tools (in a C# environment) I should know of? • Best Practices - Data Annotations vs OnChanging in Entity Framework 4

  I was wondering what the general recommendation is for Entity Framework in terms of data validation. I am relatively new to EF, but it appears there are two main approaches to data validation. The first is to create a partial class for the model, and then perform data validations and update a rule violation collection of some sort. This is outlined at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc716747.aspx The other is to use data annotations and then have the annotations perform data validation. Scott Guthrie explains this on his blog at http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2010/01/15/asp-net-mvc-2-model-validation.aspx. I was wondering what the benefits are of one over the other. It seems the data annotations would be the preferred mechanism, especially as you move to RIA Services, but I want to ensure I am not missing something. • Response.TransmitFile() with UNC share (ASP.NET)

As far as I can tell, this is the case; I get this error in Event Log when I attempt it: TransmitFile failed. File Name: \\myshare1\e$\file.zip, Impersonation Enabled: 0, Token Valid: 1, HRESULT: 0x8007052e The suggested alternative is to use WriteFile(), however, this is problematic because it loads the file into memory. In my application, the files are 200MB, so this is not going to scale. Is there a method in ASP.NET for streaming files to users that's: scalable (doesn't read entire file into RAM or occupy ASP.NET threads) works with UNC shares Mapping a network drive as a virtual directory is not an option for us. I would like to avoid copying the file to the local web server as well. Thanks

Building content at run time is supported only when XNA Game Studio has been installed on the Windows-based development computer." Actually, before I know of that, I have already used a lot of content pipeline to help me read out my game's assets. And because of that, I am now very headache to confront the publish's problem "The application requires that the assemblies Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Content.Pipeline 3.1.0.0 be installed ....." So I would like to find some ways that can help me solve this without convertion of my pipelines. So that I don't need to rewrite it all in new classes that manually load assets for me. But if I query for all properties related to Chad Sexton, I don't see 311 mentioned. But he is listed as member on the Freebase web info page (which is correct). { "*": null, "name": "Chad Sexton", "type": "/music/artist" } How can I grab the band member names along with the band info?

  Hi- I'm trying to use an external library DevExpress.XtraTreeList.v8.1.dll in my vsto office addin built using VS2010 beta 2. I am getting the following compile time error: DevExpress.Utils.AppareanceObject threw an exception -- System.NotSupportedException. The error message goes on to say that for compatibility reasons I can use the NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy switch. I've tried putting this config variable in all of the following locations: 1) my applications config file. 2) C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006\msbuild.exe.config 3) C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\dev.exe.config None of these have resolved the problem. Here were the references I've used. re-enable cas msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee191568(VS.100).aspx How do I get rid of this error so I can build the application in vs 2010?

• Need to compare blobs in firebird

  Hey guys, I need to check on the contents of blobs in my databases (yes, plural, but one problem at a time). In one database, I have about 900 images of potentially varying sizes. I need to check to see if the versioning system that's built into our application is actually correctly replicating the image data from the previous version to the new version of a record. How do I compare values en masse so I don't have to pick through each record one at a time and open up the blob using FlameRobin or Firebird Maestro and visually compare these images? This template applies a CustomerView to an instance of the CustomerViewModel class shown in the main window. <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CustomerViewModel}"> <vw:CustomerView /> </DataTemplate> I substituted the angle brackets for square brackets - not sure how to post them. The code is in the MainWindowResourses.xaml and the code starts on line 19. Anyone know how I can do this in Silverlight ?? We don't have the DataType and I need to be able to tell the app that this View is associated with this ViewModel - so I can create a tab control with different view like the demo app. Cheers, EC

• Specifying culture for http request/reponse

  I have a ReSTful web service which needs to parse culture-sensitive data from the request. This data could either be in an XML body or part of the query string. Is there any acepted way of determining which culture the data is being sent in (and by extension the culture in which the response should be sent)? One option is simply to specify to the clients the culture in which all requests should be sent. A friendlier option seems to be to allow the client to specify the culture. I've considered: a) using the accept-language http header to encode this information. b) using the xml:lang attribute for XML POSTs, and an extra field for query strings (e.g. ...&culture=en-GB) http://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-accept-lang-locales warns of limitations in using the accept-language header, but most of the warnings seem to center around requests originating from browsers. In my case the requests will come from other applications. All advice greatly appreciated!
