• jQuery get Function Not Returning Data

  I'm trying to use the jQuery get function to render the results of an HTML page in a div on my page. The result of the get function appears to be successful because the value of textStatus (in the following code block) is "success". The value of data, however, is always empty. $(document).ready(function() { $.get('http://www.google.com', function(data, textStatus){ $('#RSSContent').html(textStatus + ' ' + data); }); }); Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Note: The final code will query an RSS feed, which I plan on transforming and rendering as HTML in the RSSContent div. I simply used http://www.google.com for testing purposes.

  For coverage, I've a set of run time variables of from my program execution. It happens that I get it from a series of executions(Automated testing). ie. its a vector<vector<var,value>> I've a limited set of variables with expected values and generate combination s, that is I have vector<vector<var,value>(smaller than the execution vector)>. Now I need to compare and tell which of the combination I generated were exactly executed in one of the tests. My algo is O(n^4). Is there any way to bring it down. Something like set intersection. I'm using java, and vectors because of thread safety.

• Creating get/set method dynamically in javascript

  I am trying to create a UserDon object, and trying to generate the get and set methods programmatically ( based on Pro Javascript book by John Resig page 37 ), and am testing this on Firefox 3.5 The problem is: in function UserDon, "this" refers to the window object instead of the UserDon object. So after calling var userdon = new UserDon(...) I got setname and getname methods created on the window object (also setage and getage). • Windows Sharepoint Service (WSS) 3.0 search Issue

  Based on this http://servergrrl.blogspot.com/2008/02/how-to-use-wss-30-to-search-more-than.html blog, I've created a domain account for testing and sets the permission at the side level as well as Document Library to allow specific user (DOMAIN/TestUser1) allow accessing this folder. Now, it's interesting that the user can see the document by drilling though BUT it won't be able to search and the document couldn't find it. But if I tested with the site owner (both primary and secondary), it works nicely. What did I do wrong then? It must be related on permission but I cound't work out what it is. BTW ... I am using WSS not MOSS 2007. Thanks

• shoutcast pls forbidden for iPhone programatically?

Am I missing something ?

• Convert Decimal to ASCII

  I'm having difficulty using reinterpret_cast. Before I show you my code I'll let you know what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to get a filename from a vector full of data being used by a MIPS I processor I designed. Basically what I do is compile a binary from a test program for my processor, dump all the hex's from the binary into a vector in my c++ program, convert all of those hex's to decimal integers and store them in a DataMemory vector which is the data memory unit for my processor. I also have instruction memory. So When my processor runs a SYSCALL instruction such as "Open File" my C++ operating system emulator receives a pointer to the beginning of the filename in my data memory. So keep in mind that data memory is full of ints, strings, globals, locals, all sorts of stuff. When I'm told where the filename starts I do the following: Convert the whole decimal integer element that is being pointed to to its ASCII character representation, and then search from left to right to see if the string terminates, if not then just load each character consecutively into a "filename" string. Do this until termination of the string in memory and then store filename in a table. My difficulty is generating filename from my memory. • Convert Date to Datetime field.

  The argument my C# function is getting is a string which is merely a Date or a DateTime. I am suppose to convert this String to DateTime, to carry on furthure calculation. Now I need to test whether the incoming data is a Date, if it is date(examle:"12/31/2009"), then I need to add "00:00:00" (24 hours format) to it, so that it will become "12/31/2009 00:00:00". If string manipulation is one possible way, I want to confirm whether there is some other way where we can automate the testing and conversion within DateTime.TryParseExact() method. • How do I use a command line tool to install .net 4 to IIS

  I'm trying to deploy my WCF RIA services application to our in-house server for testing. I am running the version of the exe that I found inside of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006 There is also C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation that has (what I assume is) the same exe in it, and I can use it just fine. I've tried to un-install the 3.0 version before installing the 4.0 version, but I am still getting the same warning and failure. Has anyone successfully done this with .net 4.0?

  I have some code that I thought I had written so that it would play nice on IE. But apparently it does not. I use IE8 for my testing and get quite frustrated with the built-in debugging 'tool'. I found that firebug has a javascript tool that debugs for IE but I have to click it for every page, wait for it to load and then test my script. Is there a way to make IE ALWAYS load the firebug .js file? I tried searching for way to set up a custom header file for my IE installation but was unsuccessful. Is there another tool out there that would be better/easier to use? Another way to test scripts for IE compatibility?

  Hi, I have 3 tables (Student, Course, student_course_choose(have field grade)) I defined a view on these 3 tables that get me an Average of the each student. I want to have constraint(with trigger) on these view(or on the table that need it) to limit the average of each student between 13 and 18. I somewhere read that I must use foreach statement(instead of foreach row) on trigger because when I decrease some grade of special student and his/her average become less than 13 they don't give me error (because later I increase grade of another his/her course ). how must I wrote this Trigger? (I want to implement aprh for testing trigger) note:I can write it in SQL server, oracle or Mysql no diff for me.

  Hello, I'm using ADO.NET entity framework, and am using an AdventureWorks database attached to my local database server. For unit testing, what approaches have people taken to work with a database? Obviously, the database has to be in a pre-defined state of change so that the tests can have some isolation from each other... so I need to be able to run through the inserts and updates, then rollback either between tests or after the batch of tests are done. • Working Solo On Small Projects: Cowboy Coding The Way To Go?

  I am a big advocate of agile methods when working on teams and/or large projects. However, I find that for smaller projects, when working solo, I usually start the project writing unit tests, documenting extensively, refactoring. As time wears on, I stop because I feel like I'm wasting time. I find that cowboy coding with an agile spin (testing often, writing human readable code) often works extremely well for me on small, solo projects that I don't expect others to have to work with. Do other people share my sentiment? Or do you think that one should never stick to their guns (get it? cowboys)? So the real question: Are there any agile methodologies that are particularly tailored to a solo project? (other than my "agile cowboy" method above)

  The question is to find the 1000th prime number. I wrote the following python code for this. The problem is, I get the right answer for the 10th , 20th prime but after that each increment of 10 leaves me one off the mark. I can't catch the bug here :( count=1 #to keep count of prime numbers primes=() #tuple to hold primes candidate=3 #variable to test for primes while count<20: for x in range(2,candidate): if candidate%x==0: candidate=candidate+2 else : pass primes=primes+(candidate,) candidate=candidate+2 count=count+1 print primes print "20th prime is ", primes[-1] In case you're wondering, count is initialised as 1 because I am not testing for 2 as a prime number(I'm starting from 3) and candidate is being incremented by 2 because only odd numbers can be prime numbers. I know there are other ways of solving this problem, such as the prime number theorem but I wanna know what's wrong with this approach. Also if there are any optimisations you have in mind, please suggest. Thank You

  Hello, I seem to be having some problems creating a jquery plugin. I am testing a simple plugin in firebug console and the function is not being defined as I would expect. Here is the code pattern I am using jQuery.fn.test = function () {console.log("runs")} I am trying to call the function with this call which is not working. $.test() But this call does $.fn.test() I don't think this is how it is supposed to work so I think I am doing something wrong, although all the documentation seems to agree that I should be correct. • Can I allow a write access to a particular registry key without elevation?

  I develop an extension for Visual Studio 2005, 2008, and 2010. The Visual Studio 2005 SDK requires write access to the following registry key during builds. The normal way to handle this run Visual Studio with elevated privileges. The entire issue can be avoided if there's some way I can set permissions to allow access to this particular registry key without elevation: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0Exp Side note: This key is only used for testing Visual Studio 2005 extensions. The issue does not occur on client machines so this is just a workaround for my own development machine.

  I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 which comes with Emacs 23. I need Jabref to push citations to Emacs. However, despite I installed the Jabref plugin to push citations through emacsclient, it's not working. I did my testing, and read some of the Emacs Lisp Intro. Some commands do work, for instance if I type (in the console): emacsclient --eval "(switch-to-buffer \"*sratch*\")" the emacs windows switches to that buffer. However if I issue an insert command: emacsclient --eval "(insert \"do you see me?\")" no text is inserted in the current buffer. Does Emacs 23 changed something about insert?
