• IBM Websphere on Windows- OutOfMemoryError: Failed to create a thread

  I have a J2EE application running on an IBM Websphere Application Server on a Windows Operating System. Occasionally I see an OutOfMemoryError Exception with the following information in the javacore file. 1TISIGINFO Dump Event "systhrow" (00040000) Detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError":"Failed to create a thread: retVal -1073741830, errno 12" received Java is run with the following configurations: -Xms512m -Xmx1350m -Xscmx50M Analyzing the javacore file, the number of threads are just 124. Analyzing the heap dump, the memory occupied by the heap is about 500Mb. Given the relatively normal number of threads and heap size a lot lower than the maximum, I am trying to figure out why I see this error? I´m not sure if this helps, but here is the top section of the javacore file... • CSS Dropdown Menu issues

  Can anyone help with a small problem. I've got a nice simple CSS dropdown menu http://www.cinderellahair.co.uk/new/CSSDropdown.html The problem I have is when you rollover a menu item that has children which are wider than the content, it pushes the whole menu right. Aside of shortening the child menu links down, is there any tweak I can make to my CSS to stop this happening? • Voice Recognition Connection problem

  I,m trying to work through and test a Voice Recognition example based on the VoiceRecognition.java example at http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/ApiDemos/src/com/example/android/apis/app/VoiceRecognition.html but when click on the button to create the activity, I get a dialog that says Connection problem. My Manifest file is using the Internet Permission, and I understand it passes the to the Google Servers. Do I need to do anything else to use this. Code below UPDATE 2: Thanks to Steve, I have been able to install the USB Driver and debug the app directly on my Droid. UPDATE: Ok, I was able to replace my emulator image with one from HTC that appears to come with Google Voice Search, however now when I run from the emulator, i'm getting an Audio Problem message with Speak Again or Cancel buttons. It appears to make it back to the onActivityResult(), but the resultCode is 0. • Ivy and Snapshots (Nexus)

  Hey folks, I'm using ant, ivy and nexus repo manager to build and store my artifacts. I managed to get everything working: dependency resolution and publishing. Until I hit a problem... (of course!). I was publishing to a 'release' repo in nexus, which is locked to 'disable redeploy' (even if you change the setting to 'allow redeploy' (really lame UI there imo). You can imagine how pissed off I was getting when my changes weren't updating through the repo before I realised that this was happening. Anyway, I now have to switch everything to use a 'Snapshot' repo in nexus. Problem is that this messes up my publish. I've tried a variety of things, including extensive googling, and haven't got anywhere whatsoever. The error I get is a bad PUT request, error code 400. Can someone who has got this working please give me a pointer on what I'm missing. Secondly, I want to add the prefixes in the above XML as expected, how can I do that with XSL?

• My app has some basic problems, and it stops working

  I am writing a basic application which contains two activities. Both contain a TextView showing the title and the first one contains an EditText in which the user types a message and clicks on a button on its side, the second activity is launched which shows the message the user types. It has the following problems: The title (the first TextView in both the activities) doesn't show in the middle of the line, despite of the android:gravity="center_horizontal" attribute. The EditText in the first activity does not show at all. When I click on the button, the app stops saying "Unfortunately Write n Display and stopped.", rather than launching the second activity at all. I don't have adequate knowledge about logcat, but I have followed the steps somebody had told me, that is WindowOpen Perspective Other DDMS Then run the app and select the package name from the Devices and click on log cat, select the exception(s) and export to text file. • How to register a function in a driver code as its ISR

  Following the feedback i got from: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2683682/new-to-linux-kernel-driver-development/2683819 I have written a driver (.c file) by comparing it with an existing driver and "borrowing" heavily from its code. The driver is registered fine and init() and probe() are working fine. I am also able to access the peripheral device registers. :-) However i am a bit hazy about the IRQ/ISR. The peripheral-device is a input device and raises an interrupt on a GPIO pin. How do i move ahead from my current state ( init(), probe(), etc. ) to be able to handle the IRQ and execute my ISR function?? Many-Thanks in Advance

  I'm trying to code a batch file to copy only the most recently dated file in a given folder to another directory on the local machine, and simultaneously rename it as it does. I've found a very similar question here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/97371/batch-script-to-copy-newest-file and have managed to cobble together the below code from other forums too, but have hit a brick wall as it only results in the batch file itself being copied to the destination folder. It doesn't matter to me where the batch file itself sits in order for this to run. The source folder is C:! • Can't create admin user on Heroku

  I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine. • ListView not showing up in fragment

  When I insert a listview in a fragment in my application, it doesn't show up after I populate it with items. In fact, the application crashes due to a NullPointerException. Can anybody help me?   Hi, I'm looking for a way to share some iPhone SDK source code I have with others. Goals: Share iPhone SDK source code, Objective C written in XCode. I have a good bit of source code I want to share. I'd like for it to be easy. I'd like for it to have syntax highlighting, by this I mean coloring and formatting Ideally it would allow me some room to make it "fit" into my site. I want it to look like basically another page on my site where the content is the code. It shouldn't be just a text file in other words. I want something that really illustrates the flexibility that the team has when implementing stories to define the scope and complexity of the feature themselves. Most of the teams have long-term waterfall experience and are used to having a well-defined specification. I'm looking for something that illustrates the need for the team to vary the scope of what they are building themselves, dependent on the time and resources available. I couldn't find anything at tastycupcakes.com and Google wasn't much help. Maybe someone has prepared something themselves they would care to share?

• AWStats is processing log files but does not display them

  I've setup AWStats on my VPS to get some more insight into the traffic coming to my site. As instructed I ran a manual build/update which ran fine: sudo -u www-data ./awstats.pl -config=xxxx.com Create/Update database for config "/etc/awstats/awstats.xxxx.com.conf" by AWStats version 6.9 (build 1.925) From data in log file "/usr/share/doc/awstats/examples/logresolvemerge.pl /var/www/xxxx.com/logs/*-access.log |"... Phase 1 : First bypass old records, searching new record... Searching new records from beginning of log file... Phase 2 : Now process new records (Flush history on disk after 20000 hosts)... Warning: awstats has detected that some hosts names were already resolved in your logfile /usr/share/doc/awstats/examples/logresolvemerge.pl /var/www/xxxx.com/logs/*-access.log |. If DNS lookup was already made by the logger (web server), you should change your setup DNSLookup=1 into DNSLookup=0 to increase awstats speed. Jumped lines in file: 0 Parsed lines in file: 814 Found 0 dropped records, Found 0 corrupted records, Found 0 old records, Found 814 new qualified records. It also produced the file in the DatDir: /var/lib/awstats/awstats052010.xxxx.com.txt which contains what I would expect. BUT when I visit: xxxx.com/awstats/awstats.pl it tells me Last Update: Never updated (See 'Build/Update' on awstats_setup.html page) and the rest of the page is blank. • James - mail server configuration help needed

  Hi, I am trying to setup James mail server on a linux machine. The linux machine has public static ip address assigned. I installed James and added in the config.xml added the servername as mydomain.com. In the DNS for mydomain.com, I have created a A-record, say mx.mydomain.com, which corresponds to the ipaddress of the above mail server machine. Then added mx.mydomain.com as MX record for mydomain.com. In James, I have created a new user test. Then from gmail, I sent a mail to test@mydomain.com. The mail is not received back and it didn't even bounce back. The linux machine is behind a firewall with only 22, 80, 8080 ports open for external network. My question here is, Do I require do open any other ports on the firewall so that the mail I send from gmail arrives to James? If it's not the port problem, any views on solving this issue? I don't want to send mails from this server. It's only for receiving the mails.

• Cloudmin KVM DNS hostnames not working

  I have got a new server which has Cloudmin installed. It's working well and I can create and manage VM's as expected. The server came with a /29 subnet and I requested an additional /29 subnet to allow for more virtual machines. I didn't want to replace the existing /29 subnet with a /28 because that would have caused disruption with my existing VM's. To make life easier I decided to configure a domain name for the Cloudmin host server to allow for automatic hostname setup whenever I create a new virtual machine. I have a domain name (example.com) and I have created an NS record as follows: NS kvm.example.com 123.123.123.123 A kvm.example.com 123.123.123.123 In the above example the IP address is that of the host server, I also have two /29 subnets routed to the server. Now, I've added the two subnets to the Cloudmin administration panel as follows: I've tried to hide as little information as possible without giving all of the server details away! If I ping kvm.example.com I get a response from 123.123.123.123, if I ping the newly created virtual machine (example.kvm.example.com) it fails, and if I ping the IP address that's been assigned to the new virtual machine (from the second subnet) it fails. Am I missing anything vital? Does this look (from what little information I can show) like it's setup correctly? Any help/pointers would be appreciated. • Can't access IIS 7 server URL from the same IIS 7 server.

  We have an intranet site ie, xxx.yyyy.com, that users access by entering "http"://xxx.yyy.com. Our problems started when we migrated to IIS 7 running on a new 2003 server. We got rid of our single-sign on code and implemented a security model where we capture a user's domain credentials which we then authenticate against a DB. In order to get the domain credentials passed to our ASP.NET app, we have the following settings: Anonymous Authentication:Disabled ASP.NET Impersonation: Enabled Basic/Digest/Forms Authentication: Disabled Windows Authentication: Enabled We allow "*" and deny "?" in the web.config. Browsing "http"://xxx.yyy.com from any client PC results in a domain login prompt, and if your enter a proper user/pwd, you can get in. However, browsing "http"://xxx.yyy.com while remoting into the server results in 3 domain login prompts and eventually a 401 error - unauthorized. We have traced this behavior to problems with our web site where we have pages doing "screen scraping" using the HttpRequest calling a url on the same server. When doing a HttpRequest from any other client, using a test harness that passes authorized credentials, all is good. So internal HttpRequest calls on the server fail, just like attempts to browse that server's url from within a remote session. Why would a to "http"://xxx.yyy.com on server xxx.yyy.com fail authentication?

• Is there a setting in Exchange Server 2007 that we can set to make these headers propogate and be received by a POP/IMAP client?

  When using EWS Managed API to send Email via Exchange Server 2007. I noticed that MAPI clients like MS Outlook display all custom headers. But when I use POP3/IMAP clients like MS Outlook Express. I have noticed that these custom headers do not display in the message opened from MS Outlook Express. Is there a setting in Exchange Server 2007 that we can set to make these custom headers propagate and be received by a POP/IMAP client? Also why do custom headers in example below display up in lower case in MAPI clients like MS Outlook? But surprisingly if we use SMTPClient class to send email then these headers display as sent with Case Sensitive letters. eg. Header. • restrict access to IIS virtual directory from root website

  I have two domains (domain1.com and domain2.com). Both of them use the same Windows hosting server with IIS7. One of the domains is being called the "primary domain" by my hosting provider (GoDaddy) and it always points to the root folder that I was given. For the other domain, I have created a virtual directory in IIS and pointed it there. The folder structure is like this - root/ --Default.aspx --SomeFile.aspx --domain2folder/ ----Default.aspx ----Domain2SomeFile.aspx So, if I type domain1.com, I see the regulakr Default.aspx. But if I type domain2.com, I am shown the contents of domain2folder as if it were a separate web application - I think that is what IIS virtual directory is meant for. Well and good. But the problem is, when I type http://domain1.com/domain2folder, I see the domain2's website! But I don't want that to be shown when I use the path like that from domain1. Only if they use domain2.com, user should be able to see those contents. How can I do that? Hope I am making sense. Thanks.

• Help diagnosing Likewise Open Active Directory authentication problem

  I have two servers which were up until recently authenticating against the companies Active Directory Domain controller. I believe a recent change to the Active Directory administrator password caused the servers to stop authenticating against AD. I tried to add the servers back to the domain using the command: domainjoin-cli join example.com adusername this seemed to work without complaints, but when I try to login via ssh with my domain account, I get an invalid password error. When I run the command: lw-enum-users it prints all of the domain users, and looking up my own account, I see that it is valid and my password hasn't expired.
