  Most of the questions in stackoverflow or in other forums, show how to generate views and sends them by email. But my goal is to generate a PDF from a view with the media=print format and sends it in attachment by email. I have a view that displays a report. I use CSS Print to display this report in a print format. (Basically I display some elements and hide others). How can I generate a PDF from this view (with format media=print) and send it by e-mail in attachment. I am using ActionMailer to send emails and iTextSharp to generate PDFs

• Yahoo account remains open after using openID to login.why?

  hi i have added openid login with Yahoo! and Google in my site. it is ok and works fine. when users select for example Yahoo! to login to my site, they will be logged in in their yahoo mail account too. i think it is not secure because maybe they don't notice to this issue and leave computer while their email account is availble. what do you think about this and what is your solution for your own sites? as i notice the same story is for stackoverflow.com.

• Is there a chance that sending an email via a thread could ever fail to complete?

  I have a project where I send a couple of emails via a seperet thread, to speed up the process for the end-user. It works successfully, but i was just wondering whether there were any potfalls that i might not have considered? My greatest fear is that the user clicks a button, it says that the message has been sent (as it will have been sent to the thread for sending) but for some reason the thread might fail to send it. Are there any situations where a thread could be aborted prematurely? Please note, that i am not talking about network outages or obvious issues with an email recipient not existing. For simplicites sake please assume that the connect is up, the mail server alive and the recipient valid. Is it possible, for example, for the thread to abort prematurely if the user kills the browser before the thread has completed? This might be a silly question, but i just wanted to make sure i knew the full ramifications of using a thread in this manner. Thanks, in advance, for your help.

• Drupal email users

  I'm using Drupal 6.16: When a user creates an account on my site I have them select a category (ie children, youth, adult, etc). This is done with the select list box using the content_profile module. I have a content type that posts an announcement. In this content type is a check box that says 'email group'. Right now it does nothing, but what I would like for it to do is e-mail all the users that are associated with the group they chose when signing up for their account. If this will require extra code please be specific as I am not a strong php programmer. Thanks for the help!! msindle

  I'm trying to modify the HTML of the dialog boxes in CKEditor. The HTML inside each of those boxes is an absolute nightmare, and even worse, the source code is compressed and it's unclear what the path of execution is. • Can I create a new project based on GNU GPL v2?

  I've found a SourceForge project with a solid core that I would like to improve. The project hasn't been updated since 2007 so I assume it is "dead". I sent an e-mail asking to become a contributor to the listed project manager last week but still haven't received a response. The project is licensed under the GNU GPL v2. I would like to contribute to the current project but that doesn't appear to be possible. Can I modify the current source version of the project and release this modified project? I would keep the same license on the modified project.

  If you look at your Inbox in iPhone OS 3.0's Mail app, you'll see that swiping down displays a grayish background color above the UISearchBar. Now, if you scroll down to the bottom of the table, you'll see that the background color at that end is white. I can think of a couple ways of solving this problem, but they're pretty hacky: Change the table view's background color depending on the current scrollOffset by overriding -scrollViewDidScroll: Give the UITableView a clear background color and then set its superview's backgroundColor to a gradient pattern image. Does anyone know what the "best practice" solution is for this problem? thanks.

• How to make/monitor/deploy daemon processes in JRuby

  I'm currently porting a Rails App currently using REE to JRuby so I can offer an easy-to-install JRuby alternative. I've bundled the app into a WAR file using Bundler which I'm currently deploying to GlassFish. However, this app has a couple of daemon processes and it would be ideal if these could be part of the WAR file, and potentially monitored by Glassfish (if possible). I've looked at QuartzScheduler, and while meets my needs for a couple of things, I have a daemon process that must execute every 20 seconds as it's polling the database for any delayed mail to send. If anyone can provide any insight as to how best to set up daemon processes in a JRuby/Java/Glassfish environment any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

  Since there are so many valid characters for email addresses, are there any valid email addresses that can in themselves be XSS attacks or SQL injections? I couldn't find any information on this on the web. The local-part of the e-mail address may use any of these ASCII characters: Uppercase and lowercase English letters (a–z, A–Z) Digits 0 to 9 Characters ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` { | } ~ Character . (dot, period, full stop) provided that it is not the last character, and provided also that it does not appear two or more times consecutively (e.g. [email protected]). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mail_address#RFC_specification I'm not asking how to prevent these attacks (I'm already using parametrized queries and HTML purifier), this is more a proof-of-concept. The first thing that came to mind was 'OR [email protected], except that spaces are not allowed. Do all SQL injections require spaces?

• Best way to test a batch email script

  I have a php mail script sitting on a LAMP vps server. The script grabs about 1000 emails and sends them each an html email. I tested the script with about half a dozen of my own test email accounts and things worked fine. But I am concerned something may go wrong when I actually use this script for 1000 emails. Some things I would like to test for are 1) Confirm all 1000 emails were sent and received 2) Test to make sure emails did not end up in people's spam folders 3) Detect any other general failures Does anyone have suggestions on how I can test for the above cases? I would like to read about your experiences building batch email scripts.

• Automatic upload of 10KB file to web service?

  I am writing an application, similar to Seti@Home, that allows users to run processing on their home machine, and then upload the result to the central server. However, the final result is maybe a 10K binary file. (Processing to achieve this output is several hours.) What is the simplest reliable automatic method to upload this file to the central server? What do I need to do server-side to prevent blocking? Perhaps having the client send mail is simple and reliable? NB the client program is currently written in Python, if that matters.

• Trouble Avoiding Microsoft Outlook's Email Warning

  I have a set of records in Microsoft Access that I am trying to send in an Email. The email feature works great. Except a warning message pops up every time a message is ready to send, and the user has to click "Allow" or "Deny" for every email sent. My problem is that when I put my message in the function it always returns false, and the message fails. Any help would be appreciated.   I am new to openERP and facing issues with HR module. I have this structure Project Manager-Team Leader-Developer Team Leader is a manager of developer Project Manager is manager of Team Leader. So, if developer asks for leave then first leave request should be sent to Team Leader (mail notification to Team Leader and Project Manager) and once TL approves Leave then automaitically request sent to Project Manager for second level approval. With openERP 6.1, there is no possibility to approve leave by Team Leader unless and until Team Leader is specified as a HR manager which is inappropriate. Anybody have any solution then let me know.   Hey Guys, I am trying to generate a full rss feed, however when loading the feed in Mail, it just shows the title, with a read more link at the bottom. I have tried several different options. But none seem to work. I would like to generate the feed with a combination of several feeds in my modl. • Best way to order menu items injected by an IoC/plugin Framework

  One of the common things I've seen done in applications built on IoC/plugin frameworks is to add commands to menus or toolbars from the dynamically loaded plugins. For example, the application's default plugins supply actions like "New, Open, Save" that show up in the context menu for a certain item in the workspace. A new plugin may add "Mail, Post, Encrypt" commands, but where do those commands show up in relation to "New, Open, Save"? How can the application that is loading components through IoC impose order on the items that get injected? Does it require metadata from the plugins that give a hint on how to group or order the items? Does it use a config file of previously known menu names (or ids) to define the order (seems a little weak to me)? Or are "unknown" plugins treated as second class citizens and always get dumped into sub menus? Something I've never even imagined (which I'm hoping to see in the answers)

• Redirect for .htaccess Wildcard Subdomains

  Hello, I've been trying to figure out a way to redirect requests for wildcard subdomains to a specific folder ( called 'core' ) and calling the requested page/file from that specific folder. For example, making all calls to -http://johnny5.mysite.net redirect to -http://mysite.net/core/, or -http://docholliday.mysite.net/login.php redirect to -http://mysite.net/core/login.php, or a final example, -http://jamesbrown.mysite.net/images/feelgood.jpg to -http://mysite.net/core/images/feelgood.jpg. The problem I've been having has been getting the redirect to call the requested page/file from 'core'. I've been able to get the wildcard subdomains to redirect requested pages/files to the root ( -http://mysite.net ), but not to the specific folder ( -http://mysite.net/core/ ). • PHP elseif statement not executed even though initial if statement is false

  I am writing a recursive function to print out the differences between 2 multildimensional php arrays. The purpose of this code is to see the difference between jpeg headers to deteremine how adobe bridge cs3 is saving rating information within the jpg file. When I am single-stepping through the code using my eclipse - zend debugger ide, it appears that even though the initial if statement is false (ie both values are arrays), the subsequent elseif statements are never executed. It works - my question is w.r.t elegance - to catch the exception thrown by the main method, the sendEmail() method resides in the catch block of the main method. The sendEmail() method has its own try-catch block. • Change Gmail message routing on individual mailboxes

  We are using dual delivery for one of our Google Apps doamins and need to be able to disable mail delivery to the Gmail account. You can manually update the settings on a per user basis through the Admin interface by unchecking the box next to "Google Apps Email" in the Email routing section. From the Google Apps API documentation for the python library it does not appear that I programmatically disable the email routing for "Google Apps Email" on a per user basis. Does anyone know if it's possible? The only routing related method I can find is at the Domain level and not the user level. gdata.apps.adminsettings.service Thank you!

  Hi, I am migrating a website over to a new server, its in ASP and uses several Access databases, the site and CMS can read, display the data, and even edit and update existing data entries, but when I want to add a new entry, I get an error...
