• How to programmatically add mailbox alias on an Exchange 2007 server from C# web app?

  As the subject says, I have a C# web application (.NET 3.5) that's communicating with an Exchange 2007 server. What I need help with is to programmatically (preferably from the web app itself) add a new mailbox alias to a certain mailbox and then before sending out the mail set the new alias as the reply-to address. I'm fairly new to scripting, but from what I've read so far, most people seem to be suggesting the Exchange Powershell to accomplish this. Any hints towards a third-part API that would solve this would be appreciated. I've looked at the EWS API but from what I've seen so far it doesn't look like that's what I'm looking for.

• iphone/ipad application - taking screen shot

  I successfully implemented an application that works on ipad as well as on iphone. In that I provided option to user to send the screen shot of the application as mail attachment. Even that is functioning well. But my code is taking screen shot irrespective of orientation. The image i'm getting is always in portrait mode. I want to take the screen shot depending on the orientation of ipad/iphone and send the image as attachment. I'm using following code to take the screen shot. • Writing email sniffer

  Hello, I am interested in writing an email sniffer that saves all emails sent via web based clients to hd, but I can't work out how to do this. How can I catch HTTPS mail before it is encrypted? I would really appriciate some useful info. I cannot find anything information on the web. There's a program called HTTP Analyzer V5 that does the exact thing I want to make. How should I start? If I make a packet sniffer, it's useless because all data is encrypted. Is there any other option?

• My site was recently attacked. What do I do?

  This is a first for me. One of the sites I run was recently attacked. Not at all an intelligent attack - pure brute force - hit every page and every non-page with every extension possible. Posted with garbage data to every form and tried to post to some random urls too. All tod, 16000 requests in one hour. What should I do to prevent/alert this kind of behavior? Is there a way to limit the request/hr for a given ip/client? Is there a place I should be reporting the user to? They appear to be from China and did leave what seems like a valid e-mail.

  Litmus released an email analytics service last month (may 2010). See here: http://litmusapp.com/email-analytics They boast a very cool "read rate" tracking: they can track normal reads, Skims, and Glanced/Deleted. How can they track skims and glanced/deleted? This to me seems impossible :) They also track forwards and prints. Prints are easy (they include a css @media print query with a bg image). But forwards? I think this might be a combo between subsequent opens and different IPs/reffering URLs. However, this means that if I open my mail and re-read it from another computer, it counts as a forward. Any ideas on this one? To summarize: Litmus Email Analytics says they can track email reads, skims, glanced/deleted, prints and forwards. How do they do it (skims, glanced/deleted and forwards)?

  Possible Duplicates: Recommendations for a .NET component to access an email inbox coding for how to receive a mail in windows apllication What methods are there for having .NET code run and handle e-mails as they arrive? I'm developing a social networking site that will allow users to send an email to an email address that is for posting. This is the same thing Blogger does. This allows me to take a picture with my phone and send it to [email protected] and have it posted to my profile. The site is running IIS6 and I have full access to the server. Emails are currently being processed using the SMTP service that comes with Windows 2003 Server, but I can switch to another system without any issues. I am assuming I would have to somehow have the incoming emails either go into a folder that my application is watching or cause incoming emails to trigger a script. can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Email form isn't sending

  Hi I have an email form that isn't sending out an email to the recipient or a copy to the client. The form can be found at www.kelcos.co.uk/contact and the files associated with this are: /index.php /jquery.js /sendemail.php /submitform.php /thanks.php /verify.php I have used this form on other websites http://www.bowlesgreen.co.uk/contact/ and http://www.arbortectreecare.co.uk/contact/ and it works fine - the only difference is that these other sites use my usual hosting provider and for the one that won't send I'm working through the clients hosting provider, which I can only presume is what is causing the problem. I have contacted the hosting and so far we have eliminated a few things such as: 'The limitation to our systems is that the emails sent using scripts will be blocked if they are not going to or coming from an email address setup on the web hosting account. - so I am now sending the form to an a kelcos.co.uk address, but still no joy. PHP/ASP was originally disabled, but now has been activated the mail() script is enabled I would really appreciated any advise any of you could offer. Thanks

I am sending link to my user through mail, now I want to send each user a specific URL. so instead of sending the clear text I want to send link with encrypted string URL, which I will decrypt on my home page. Like instead of www.mysite.aspx\mypage?userId=12 i'll send www.mysite.aspx\mypage?UserId=)@kasd12 and the same i'll decrypt on my page so that I'll get the userId = 12. • How would you implement database updates via email?

  I'm building a public website which has its own domain name with pop/smtp mail services. I'm considering giving users the option to update their data via email - something similar to the functionality found in Flickr or Blogger where you email posts to a special email address. The email data is then processed and stored in the underlying database for the website. I'm using ASP.NET and SQL Server and using a shared hosting service. Any ideas how one would implement this, or if it's even possible using shared hosting? Thanks

  I have a deposit page where people can deposit money on their accounts, but I would like to extend this with other payment methods and also I don't want to have certain information in the form visible to people (those who now how to manipulate form data using firebug). • Trying to Install Rails 3

  I'm trying to install Rails 3 on a brand new MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.3, Ruby 1.8.7, and Rails 2.3.5 and I'm wondering if I've hosed myself. So far, I've run these commands: $ gem update --system $ gem install arel tzinfo builder memcache-client rack rack-test rack-mount erubis mail text-format thor bundler i18n $ gem install rails --pre However, when I run the last command, I get this error: ERROR: While executing gem ... (Gem::FilePermissionError) You don't have write permissions into the /usr/bin directory. I think it wants me to run the command with sudo so that it can write over /usr/bin/rails. But if I do that, won't I be overwriting my Rails 2.3.5 executable? I don't want to do that. Instead, I'd like to keep both versions of Rails. Can anyone help? Thanks.

  I'm trying to make a visual basic application which is connected to a Microsoft Access Database using OLEDB. Inside my database I have a user table with the following layout ID - Autonumber Username - Text Password - Text Email - Text To insert data into the table I use the following query INSERT INTO Users (Username, Password, Email) VALUES ('004606', 'Password', '[email protected]') However I seem to get an error with this statement and according to VB it's a syntax error. But then I tried to use the following query INSERT INTO Users (Username) Values ('004606') This query seemed to work absolutely fine... So the problem is I can insert into just one field but not all 3 (excluding the ID field because it's an autonumber). Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

• Limitation of Attachment size when using SMTP

  Hi, I wrote a C++ program to send a mail using SMTP. But when I attach any files I notices that a single file's size always is limited to 808 bytes. As an example if I send a text file with 10 KBs, when I download the attachment it has only text worth 808 bytes. If the large file is a zip file, it gets corrupted in unzipping obviously due to CRC failure. I used a MAPI library to send larger files without a problem. Is this a network limitation of SMTP? Can someone please explain why this is happening?? Thank You!!!

  I'm trying to learn to use glassfish for the first time. My IDE is netbeans and I've installed the glassfish plugin for netbeans. I opened up synaptics package manager and typed in glassfish. My choices were imqv2 glassfish-activaton glassfish-mail glassfish-appserv glassfish-toplink-essentials glassfish-jmac-api glassfish-javaee I'm not sure what is in each package, or which package are needed. I can't seem to find anything that tells me anything descriptive about these packages. I've seen a lot of tutorials on how to install glassfish, but I'd prefer to use apt-get / synaptics to install glassfish so that syntactics can take care of updating.

• Drupal email users

  I'm using Drupal 6.16: When a user creates an account on my site I have them select a category (ie children, youth, adult, etc). This is done with the select list box using the content_profile module. I have a content type that posts an announcement. In this content type is a check box that says 'email group'. Right now it does nothing, but what I would like for it to do is e-mail all the users that are associated with the group they chose when signing up for their account.   The UI in Android Honeycomb is very different. I'm looking for things that have changed that would be of interest to developers. Google hasn't updated it's UI guidelines yet, so I am trying to find this stuff out by inspecting the layouts. I am mainly interested in dimensions of icons and new types of views. The action bar height is 56dp (?android:attr/actionBarSize). It seems that the menu icons are 32 x 32 dp now, they were 48 x 48 dp before. Since they are in the action bar, they have a lot of padding around them. The size of a menu icon with padding is 64 x 56 dp. I needed this since I was trying to put a ProgressBar as a menu item. Anything else change? Also, I'm interested in the size of some common UI patterns, like the widths for a list/detail layout like the mail client.

• iPhone not returning to application after calling eMail send

  I am sending an email from within my iPhone application. The eMail page pops up ok, I click on the Send button, the iPhone plays a whoosh sound, and the eMail actually arrives at the recipient. Unfortunately, the mail dialog still sits there unresponsive, and the only option - to click the home button - kills the app. Is there something else that needs to be specified to close the eMailMessage view? • Flex : providing data with a PHP Class

  Hello, i'm a very new user to flex (never use flex, nor flashbuilder, nor action script before), but i want to learn this langage because of the beautiful RIA and chart it can do. I watched the video on adobe : 1 hour to build your first program but i'm stuck : On the video it says that we have to provide a PHP class for accessing data and i used the example that flash builder gave (with zend framework and mysqli). I never used those ones and it makes a lot to learn if i count zen + mysqli. My question is : can i use a PHP class like this one ?
