• How to clip a rectangle from a tiff?

  I have a Winforms Gui in C# that allows a user to draw a rectangle on a display of a tiff and save the position, height, width etc. Basically, what I want to do is take the saved position, height and width of the rectangle and clip that area into a sep. bitmap that can then be passed to sep. method that will just OCR the new clip of the bitmap only. What is the best way to do this?

  I am using a simple EditText and register an View.OnKeyListener. Some GUI changes should happen (fading in/out of views) when certain conditions for the EditView text apply. In the emulator, this works as expected. On the Motorola Droid/Milestone, the listener does not work, only after pressing DEL, the listener is called the first time and always afterwards when activating the number input, the listener works correctly Note: I deactivated the suggestions with TYPE_TEXT_FLAG_NO_SUGGESTIONS and used the IME action IME_ACTION_GO to have a workaround for this (otherwise the user could not "start" a request).

  How can I call a class in Java, when the name of the class won't be known at compile time (such as if it were a plugin). For example, from a GUI, a user selects a plugin (a Java class), the application then creates a new instance of the class, and calls one of its methods (the method name would be known at compile time (e.g. "moduleMain")).   board image the above is a board layout done by using gridbaglayout. i would like insets of 5 pixels around the whole board but not between each label. i scaned the api and havent come up with something that lets me do this. does this mean i have to nest my board gui inside another gridbaglayout with the insets desired? thank you.

  How can I validate the cells in a DataGridColumn individually? The validation is configured per-row. For example FIELD VALUE TYPE age 13 Integer height 13x3 Integer registered true Boolean temperature 98.G6 Float In this case, of course 13x3 and 98.G6 would be invalid. Writing a Validator is no problem, and I can grab the TYPE from the data provider object, but now do I get individual access to the GUI cells so I can give the Validator a source which is an individual cell, set the errorString on an individual cell.

  I have concerns about the performance of the following architecture: j2ee application in an appserver, ejb session bean and DAOs remote (rich) client, a swing app. A classic, form-based client only one stateless ejb, the ejb is accessed via web services, not rmi, through a homegrown framework each web service request will get authenticated against an LDAP no state stored on the server, only client-side sessions I guess working on the rich GUI will involve a remote call in every 2-10 seconds, or more, per user.   I've been building a Windows Service to create a WebBrowser object to navigate, login, and download a site's HTML. However, I recently discovered this bug which prevents the DocumentCompleted event from firing if the WebBrowser is not visible: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259935 I've got to assume this is because the Windows Service doesn't allow for a GUI and therefore this bug is tripped.
