mod_rewrite not working after upgrade to 12.10

I'm hoping this is a quick and simple fix and that I just need a fresh set of eyes. However, I'm fearful that it might actually be an error in the latest build of the rewrite module. I have a .htaccess file that turns on the rewrite engine (I've made sure the module is enabled), creates some rewrite conditions, and finally a rewrite rule. Here's my .htaccess file for reference: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?request=$1 [L,QSA,NC] </IfModule> Now for the problem: if I go to hostname.com it works fine. If I go to hostname.com/Index it works fine. However, if I go to hostname.com/index it doesn't rewrite the request and I get a 404. I'm not sure what's going on here. I've used a rewrite rule tester and there doesn't appear to be any issues with my rewrite rule itself. Again, this issue didn't manifest until after I upgraded to 12.10, at which point I know that Apache was updated. Any thoughts? Has anyone else here experienced this? I know that two other people besides myself have experienced this here. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Binding navigation property to RadGrid while using EntityDataSource control

I'm new to Entity Framework and I got stuck in an issue while trying to bind a navigation property (foreign key reference) to a dropdownlist. I have Telerik RadGrid control which gets the data using a EntityDataSource control. Here is the model description: Applications: AppId, AppName, ServerId Servers: ServerId, ServerName The Applicaitons.ServerId is a foreign key reference to Servers.ServerId. The RadGrid lists the applications and allows the user to insert/update/delete an application. I want to show the server names as a dropdownlist in edit mode which I'm not able to. . MVC2 and MVC Futures causing RedirectToAction issues

I've been trying to get the strongly typed version of RedirectToAction from the MVC Futures project to work, but I've been getting no where. Below are the steps I've followed, and the errors I've encountered. Any help is much appreciated. I created a new MVC2 app and changed the About action on the HomeController to redirect to the Index page. Return RedirectToAction("Index") However, I wanted to use the strongly typed extensions, so I downloaded the MVC Futures from CodePlex and added a reference to Microsoft.Web.Mvc to my project. I addded the following "import" statement to the top of HomeContoller.vb Imports Microsoft.Web.Mvc I commented out the above RedirectToAction and added the following line: Return RedirectToAction(Of HomeController)(Function(c) c.Index()) So far, so good. However, I noticed if I uncomment out the first (non Generic) RedirectToAction, it was now causing the following compile error: Error 1 Overload resolution failed because no accessible 'RedirectToAction' can be called with these arguments: Extension method 'Public Function RedirectToAction(Of TController)(action As System.Linq.Expressions.Expression(Of System.Action(Of TController))) As System.Web.Mvc.RedirectToRouteResult' defined in 'Microsoft.Web.Mvc.ControllerExtensions': Data type(s) of the type parameter(s) cannot be inferred from these arguments. Specifying the data type(s) explicitly might correct this error. Becuase I thought this might be some VB issue, I created a new MVC2 project using C# and tried the same as above. I added the following "using" statement to the top of HomeController.cs using Microsoft.Web.Mvc; This time, in the About action method, I could only manage to call the non-generic RedirectToAction by typing the full commmand as follows: return Microsoft.Web.Mvc.ControllerExtensions.RedirectToAction<HomeController>(this, c => c.Index()); Even though I had a "using" statement at the top of the class, if I tried to call the non-generic RedirectToAction as follows: return RedirectToAction<HomeController>(c => c.Index()); I would get the following compile error: Error 1 The non-generic method 'System.Web.Mvc.Controller.RedirectToAction(string)' cannot be used with type arguments What gives? It's not like I'm trying to do anything out of the ordinary. It's a simple vanilla MVC2 project with only a reference to the Futures assembly. I'm hoping that I've missed out something obvious, but I've been scratching my head for too long, so I figured I'd seek some assisstance. If anyone's managed to get this simple scenario working (in VB and/or C#) could they please let me know what, if anything, they did differently? Thanks!

MVC 2 with IIS 6 Problems

Hey guys, I'm using IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 Server and I am trying to get an MVC2 project installed on that machine. I am having nightmare-ish problems doing so! I've looked up TONS of references on what to do, and not 1 single one works. (They work for MVC1 projects, as I have a few of those running already using said solutions). Does anyone have any tips/hints/ideas on what needs to be done for MVC2 projects with IIS 6? I am definitely pulling my hair out over this. I have tried it on 2 of my dev servers, and both get the same result. The closest I can get to a served page is an error page "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", however, the page has try/catch blocks that are being ignored, so I dont think its running the code on the controller, I think it's saying that the controller is the error. (For the reference, the error in question is directed at the HomeController.cs file). Need Help Setting an Image with Transparent Background to Clipboard

I need help setting a transparent image to the clipboard. I keep getting "handle is invalid". Basically, I need a "second set of eyes" to look over the following code. (The complete working project at ftp://missico.net/ImageVisualizer.zip.) This is an image Debug Visualizer class library, but I made the included project to run as an executable for testing. (Note that window is a toolbox window and show in taskbar is set to false.) I was tired of having to perform a screen capture on the toolbox window, open the screen capture with an image editor, and then deleting the background added because it was a screen capture. So I thought I would quickly put the transparent image onto the clipboard. Well, the problem is...no transparency support for Clipboard.SetImage. Google to the rescue...not quite. This is what I have so far. I pulled from a number of sources. See the code for the main reference. My problem is the "invalid handle" when using CF_DIBV5. Do I need to use BITMAPV5HEADER and CreateDIBitmap? Contructor parameters for dependent classes with Unity Framework

I just started using the Unity Application Block to try to decouple my classes and make it easier for unit testing. I ran into a problem though that I'm not sure how to get around. Looked through the documentation and did some Googling but I'm coming up dry. Here's the situation: I have a facade-type class which is a chat bot. It is a singleton class which handles all sort of secondary classes and provides a central place to launch and configure the bot. I also have a class called AccessManager which, well, manages access to bot commands and resources. When I create a bot instance it's going to try to resolve IAccessManager but won't be able to because I haven't registered the types yet (that's the next line). But I can't move the registration in front of the Bot creation because as part of the registration I need to pass the Bot as a parameter! Circular dependencies!! Gah!!! This indicates to me I have a flaw in the way I have this structured. But how do I fix it? Help!!

How do I use UIImagePickerController just to display the camera and not take a picture?

Hello All: I'd like to know how to open the camera inside of a pre-defined frame (not the entire screen). When the view loads, I have a box, and inside it, I want to display what the camera sees. I don't want to snap a picture, just basically use the camera as a viewfinder. I have searched this site and have not yet found what I'm looking for. Please help. Thanks! Thomas Update 3: A-HA! Found this on the Apple Class Reference. Discussion The delegate receives notifications when the user picks an image or movie, or exits the picker interface. The delegate also decides when to dismiss the picker interface, so you must provide a delegate to use a picker. If this property is nil, the picker is dismissed immediately if you try to show it. Gonna play around with the delegate now. Then I'm going to read on wtf a delegate is. Backwards? Whatever :-p Update 4: The two delegate functions for the class are – imagePickerController:didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo: – imagePickerControllerDidCancel: and since I don't actually want to pick an image or give the user the option to cancel, I am just defining the methods. Need a little help with sound in a JApplet

I am working on a solitaire game in Java, and i need to implement sound when the desk is shuffled, card flipped, etc. I used the following sites as reference to try and get it to work, but i am getting Null Pointer Exceptions or mishandled URL exception (depending on what i tweak). here Also, i am using netbeans 6.7.1 as my IDE. I appear to be having a problem with ASP.NET MVC in that, if I have more than one form on a page which uses the same name in each one, but as different types (radio/hidden/etc), then, when the first form posts (I choose the 'Date' radio button for instance), if the form is re-rendered (say as part of the results page), I seem to have the issue that the hidden value of the SearchType on the other forms is changed to the last radio button value (in this case, SearchType.Name). Update: I've seen this bug again today. It seems that this crops its head when you return a posted page and use MVC set hidden form tags with the Html helper. I've contacted Phil Haack about this, because I don't know where else to turn, and I don't believe that this should be expected behaviour as specified by David.

FreeType2 Bitmap to System::Drawing::Bitmap.

Hi, I'm trying to convert a FreeType2 bitmap to a System::Drawing::Bitmap in C++/CLI. FT_Bitmap has a unsigned char* buffer that contains the data to write. I have got somewhat working save it disk as a *.tga, but when saving as *.bmp it renders incorrectly. I believe that the size of byte[] is incorrect and that my data is truncated. Any hints/tips/ideas on what is going on here would be greatly appreciated. Links to articles explaining byte layout and pixel formats etc. would be helpful. Thanks!! C++/CLI code. Why is my PHP query executing twice on page load?

I am newish to PHP and I seem to be having an issue with an insert statement that executes twice when I open this page to view a document. In the database the 2nd insert is 1 second later. I am unsure if it is a favicon issue as my upload page uses an insert query and it executes once. How do I solve an unresolved external when using C++ Builder packages?

I'm experimenting with reconfiguring my application to make heaving use of packages. Both I and another developer running a similar experiment are running into a bit of trouble when linking using several different packages. We're probably both doing something wrong, but goodness knows what :) The situation is this: The first package, PackageA.bpl, contains C++ class FooA. The class is declared with the PACKAGE directive. The second package, PackageB.bpl, contains a class inheriting from FooA, called FooB. It includes FooB.h, and the package is built using runtime packages, and links to PackageA by adding a reference to PackageA.bpi. Other info The class does descend from TObject, though originally before refactoring into packages it was a normal C++ class. (More detail below. It seems "safer" using VCL-style classes when trying to solve problems with a very Delphi-ish thing like this anyway. Changing this only changes the order of unresolved externals to first not find Method1 and Method2, then others.) The .cpp files also contain #pragma package(smart_init) near the top, under the includes. Questions that might help... Are packages reliable using C++, or are they only useable with Delphi code? Is linking to the first package by adding a reference to its BPI correct - is that how you're supposed to do it? I could use a LIB but it seems to make the second package much larger, and I suspect it's statically linking in the contents of the first. Can we use the PACKAGE directive only on TObject-derived classes? There is no compiler warning using it on standard C++ classes. Is splitting code into packages the best way to achieve the goal of isolating code and communicating through defined layers / interfaces? I've been investigating this path because it seems to be the C++Builder / Delphi Way, and if it worked it looks attractive. But are there better alternatives? I'm very new to using packages and have only known about them through using components before. Any general words of advice would be great! We're using C++Builder 2010. I've fabricated the class and method names in the above code examples, but other than that the details are exactly what we're seeing. Cheers, David

Finite state machine A deterministic finite state machine is a simple computation model, widely used as an introduction to automata theory in basic CS courses. It is a simple model, equivalent to regular expression, which determines of a certain input string is Accepted or Rejected. Leaving some formalities aside, A run of a finite state machine is composed of: alphabet, a set of characters. states, usually visualized as circles. One of the states must be the start state. Some of the states might be accepting, usually visualized as double circles. transitions, usually visualized as directed arches between states, are directed links between states associated with an alphabet letter. input string, a list of alphabet characters. A run on the machine begins at the starting state. Each letter of the input string is read; If there is a transition between the current state and another state which corresponds to the letter, the current state is changed to the new state. After the last letter was read, if the current state is an accepting state, the input string is accepted. If the last state was not an accepting state, or a letter had no corresponding arch from a state during the run, the input string is rejected. Note: This short descruption is far from being a full, formal definition of a FSM; Wikipedia's fine article is a great introduction to the subject. Example For example, the following machine tells if a binary number, read from left to right, has an even number of 0s: The alphabet is the set {0,1}. The states are S1 and S2.
