    When constructor is explicit, it isn't used for implicit conversions. In the given snippet, constructor is marked as explicit. Then why in case foo obj1(10.25); it is working and in foo obj2=10.25; it isn't working ? #include <iostream> class foo { int x; public: explicit foo( int x ):x(x) {} }; int main() { foo obj(10.25); // Not an error.     I have a small problem with ArrayList. You see, I wish to get an instance of RenderNewHUD in my renderer class, which has a list of registered renderers. I did not want to create a variable for this due to limitations and awkwardness. Here is my code. RenderNewHUD hud = renderer.renderList.get(RenderNewHUD()); How exactly can I go along getting the instance of RenderNewHUD without creating a new instance? If you need any more of my code, just ask.     I have 2 projects linked and these 2 projects each have a package under them. XProject - XPackage - XClass - X1Method(); X2Method(); YProject - YPackage - YClass - Y1Method(); I'm trying to call X1 and X2 methods from Y1 Method. I can call X1 Method but when I call X2 method I get a runtime error (java.lang.NoSuchMethodError:) All methods are public and there is nothing wrong with method names. It is just nonsense to have one of them working while other is giving runtime errors. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Should I be using libraries if I'm trying to learn how to program?

    I have been programming "a lot" in the past few months and at first I was trying to find the "easyest" language. Fortunately I realized that it's not about the language, it's about learning HOW to code. I ran into the Stanford lectures online (programming methodology) and I watched them all (around 23 hours total) awhile ago. Then I got into Java ME and programmed about 28.47% of a mobile RPG game (only around 2k lines of code). I feel like I learned a lot from those two experiences compared to previous ones but now that I'm moving into flash/actionscript 3.0 development and I'm finding myself learning like I did when I first started with PHP. I'm not really getting whats under the hood kind of. I'm finding myself using libraries to speed up development time which doesn't seem like a bad thing BUT I personally do not know how to write the libraries myself off hand. So should I be coding everything myself or is it ok to use libraries when you don't even know how to code them?

Rather, is there any advantage to the above (other than perhaps clarity) over: a { color:red; } /* notice no :link part */ a:visited { color: blue; } etc.,etc.
