    Hello, I am trying to get a tableview to split data i have in an array into sections... I'm pretty new to this but below is my code snippet - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { if(section == 0) { contentArray = [[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Send SMS", @"Reports", nil] retain]; } if(section == 1) { contentArray = [[NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Accounts", nil] retain]; } return [contentArray count]; } I have split the data successfully into the 2 sections but when populating the rows It just repeats the first content array in both sections.     I want track which articles a user read on a website. Then with that data, be able to know: 1) - top N articles read in the last hour/day/week/month 2) - show recommendations ("users who read this, also read that") 3) - same as (1), but for a specific section on the site Since the site has high traffic ( 1M views/day) i can't use a RDBMS for this. I started to look at NoSQL (cassandra specifically) and since it's all new to me i'm not sure it's what i need or not. I'm possitive i'm not the first one who needs something like this but couldn't find links/articles giving me pointers on how to do something like this. Is NoSQL the best aproach? Any tips on the data model? Thanks.

    I'm getting ready to start a C# web application project and just wanted some opinions regarding pulling data from a database. As far as I can tell, I can either use C# code to access the database from the code behind (i.e. LINQ) of my web app or I can call a stored procedure that will collect all the data and then read it with a few lines of code in my code behind. I'm curious to know which of these two approaches, or any other approach, would be the most efficient, elegant, future proof and easiest to test.

  • How to isolate data per customer, Django powered website

    I have recently started learning python and django and working on a project that includes building a website for collecting information from customers. I am currently trying to figure out best way to isolate the customer data (collected information is sensitive and should only be accessible by customer and the service provider). I found this post Postgresql - one database for everyone, or one-database per customer and my question is that can I automate the model inheritance with customer creation via admin? To be specific, when save() is called for adding customer via django admin, this should create the customer specific tables (create a new set of tables with 'company_name' -prefix). For more information of the environment, I have extended the basic user registration with custom UserProfile adding 'company' and 'role' fields for each user. Upon login, the 'company' of the user will be checked to filter out tables without the 'company_name' prefix. 'Role' will further filter the which company-specific tables and set rights (view, edit). will appreciate any suggestions if more elegant methods could be used to solve the data isolation problem than model inheritance.

  • Popuplating an NSPopupButton with the contents of two NSArrayControllers

    I'm looking to populate an NSPopupButton with the contents of two NSArrayControllers. The NSArrayControllers are both bound to my Core Data Managed Object Context and represent separate entities (in this example: Person and Department). Within my NSPopupButton, I would like a list of departments, and the people that work under them. Like so: Department 1 Person 1 Person 2 Department 2 Person 3 Person 4 All departments would need to be disabled by default, meaning that users should only be able to select people listed within the dropdown. I'm lost as to how I would go about doing something like this. The concept of manually populating an NSPopupButton seems fairly trivial, but I'm a bit shaky as to best to populate the element with Core Data objects. Essentially, I'm just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. I imagine there's a right way to do this, and a number of very wrong ways.

    In order to select data from part of an application that isn't affected by dirty data, I create a TransactionScope that specifies a ReadUncommitted IsolationLevel as per the suggestion from Hanselman here. My question is, do I still need to execute the oTS.Complete() call at the end of the using block even if this transaction scope was not built for the purpose of bridging object dependencies across 2 databases during an Insert, Update, or Delete?     Hi, I'm using jQuery UI, sortable on an ul element. All good, except over time the data in my li elements has become table like, in the sense there are multiple columns of data. They aren't aligning correctly because this seems to be hard to do in ul, and indeed not what ul's are designed for. I have 2 choices the way I see Work out some really cool css to make my ul / li format nicely Work out how to convert this to a sortable table With option 2., looking at a few plugins that exist (tablednd for example), they seem very old. I don't believe the jQuery UI Anyone got any recommendations as far as a direction I should head?

    This is a trick question, while developing a php+ajax application i felt into some long queries, nothing wrong with them, but they could be done in background. I know that there's a way to just send a reply to user while throwing the real processing to another process by exec(), however it dosen't feels right for me, this might generate exploits and it's not pratical on making it compatible with virtual servers and cross platform. PHP offers the ob_* functions although they help on flushing the cache, but the user will keep connected until the script is running. I'm wondering if there's an alternate to exec to keep a script running after sending data to user and closing connection/thread with apache, or a less "dirty" way to have processing data sent to another script.

  • MVC Entity Framework Model not returning correct data

    Hi, Run into a strange problem while writing an ASP.NET MVC site. I have a view in my SQL Server database that returns a few date ranges. The view works fine when running the query in SSMS. When the view data is returned by the Entity Framework Model, It returns the correct number of rows but some of the rows are duplicated.     I have a hierarchical data structure which I'm displaying in a webpage as a treeview. I want to data to be ordered to first show nodes ordered alphabetically which have no children, then under these nodes ordered alphabetically which have children. Currently I'm ordering all nodes in one group, which means nodes with children appear next to nodes with no children. I'm using a recursive method to build up the treeview, which has this LINQ code at it's heart: var filteredCategory = from c in category orderby c.Name ascending where c.ParentCategoryId == parentCategoryId && c.Active == true select c; So this is the orderby statement I want to enhance.     Hello, few times ago, i asked how to do to display datas per month, i must told a bad explanation because i just figured out that it's not what i want : Here's what I got : $req1 = ... AND v.date > (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 2 MONTH)) AND v.date < (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 1 MONTH)) $req2= ... AND v.date > (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 3 MONTH)) AND v.date < (DATE_SUB(CURDATE(), INTERVAL 2 MONTH)) But the problem, imagine that today you are the 10th june, it's going to calculate ALL the data between the 10 june to the 10 may then the 10 may until the 10 april... But what i want is data : from 1st may to 1 st june, from 1st june to 1st july... do you see what i mean ? thank you ;)

  • C++ Linked List - Reading data from a file with a sentinel

    So I've done quite a bit of research on this and can't get my output to work correctly. I need to read in data from a file and have it stored into a Linked List. The while loop used should stop once it hits the $$$$$ sentinel. Then I am to display the data (by searching by ID Number[user input]) I am not that far yet I just want to properly display the data and get it read in for right now. My problem is when it displays the data is isn't stopping at the $$$$$ (even if I do "inFile.peek() != EOF and omit the $$$$$) I am still getting an extra garbage record. I know it has something to do with my while loop and how I am creating a new Node but I can't get it to work any other way.   • Creating/compling .net data class within an application

    Is there a pattern, Xml structure, architecture technique we can use to create simple data holder class code that we can deserialise to/from and do that at runtime? We're in the early design stage of a .Net project and one of our goals is to make the resulting system extensible through configuration without needing a developer. We need to support new sources of data, typcially delivered as Xml messages. Currently we convert/deserialise the messages into simple classes and then use an already existing language which can manipulate those classes as we need. That works well when you have a developer to map the Xml to simple class, create the class and then write the deserialisation, but it's not extensible for for an administrator. Our target user audience is high end DBA and/or network admin - people who can handle Xml but may not know C#.

    I'm not sure how to do this without getting an error. Here is a simplified example of my problem. Say I have this data frame DF a b c d 1 2 3 4 2 3 4 5 3 4 5 6 Then I have a variable x <- min(c(1,2,3)) Now I want do do the following y <- DF[a == x] But when I try to refer to some variable like "x" I get an error because R is looking for a column "x" in my data frame. I get the "undefined columns selected" error How can I do what I am trying to do in R?

  • mysqli and field types

    Hi, I'd like to know if there is a simple way to fetch data from mysql tables with "correct" data types? What i mean, if field type is for example INT or SMALLINT is it possible to pass those types directly to PHP as integers? I did some searching and found mysqli_fetch_fields, but for SMALLIT type is 2, for INT 3 and so on. It could be done that way, but it looks rather clumsy workaround. Is there any better way? I'm using PHP and mysqli. Thank you.
