clear div clearing the page to the end in jquery ui tabs...

I have set up a list using this css... #navlist li { list-style-type: none; padding: 7px; float: left; } I have shown the page using jquery ui with other div containers... the page here the page named friend.jsp?all=true Im using a clearing div... .clear { clear:left; overflow:hidden; height:1px; } Now when i use a clearing div i get the page like this... the clearing div is clearing up to the end of the page... but on the 1st tab, that is on the freinds tab, when i m not using a clearing div i get the tab pane with no height... Any help with setting up a css for ui tabs or with setting up the list without float:left thanks Pradyut

best practice to obtain time zone for iPhone vs iPod Touch

I am creating an app that requires the users current time zone. If the device being used is an iPhone and the user has their Time Zone set to automatically change, I think I can be fairly confident that localTimeZone or systemTimezone will give me the correct time zone for the user's location. If on the other hand the device is an iPod Touch, the time zone returned by localTimeZone and systemTimeZone appears to always be whatever time zone is set in the Date & Time settings, regardless of the user's actual location. I tried using location services but, while the lat/long is being provided properly, the time zone offset in the timesStamp I am getting is always the same as whatever the user has set for their time zone setting. Any suggestions? John

LINQ OrderBy with more than one field

I have a list that I need sorted by two fields. I've tried using OrderBy in LINQ but that only allows me to specify one field. I'm looking for the list to be sorted by the first field and then if there are any duplicates in the first field to sort by the second field. For example I want the results to look like this (sorted by last name then first name). Adams, John Smith, James Smith, Peter Thompson, Fred I've seen that you can use the SQL like syntax to accomplish this but I am looking for a way to do it with the OrderBy method. JQuery XML option node

hi, I am having an issue with parsing XML with JQuery when there is a node with an option node <preferences><dashboard> <report id="si_pg_vw" order="0"> <header> <data> <option type="reportname" value="Page View"/> </data> </header> </report> the following code in firebug returns no children $reportElement.find("data")[0] however if I change option to any other value ("option2", "test" etc) then the line above returns one child which is correct. Am I mising something or is there a bug? Thanks John

Hey, Anyone know how to disable a link in jquery WITHOUT using return false;? Specifically, what I'm trying to do is disable the link of an item, performing a click on it using jquery which triggers some stuff, then re-enabling that link so that if it's clicked again it works as default. Hi, I have a table with 58 records in mysql database. I was able to connect to my database and retrive all records and made 5 pages with links to view each pages using php script. webpage will look like this: name number john 1232343456 tony 9878768544 jack 3454562345 joe 1232343456 jane 2343454567 andy 2344560987 marcy 9873459876 sean 8374623534 mark 9898787675 nancy 8374650493 1 2 3 4 5 that's the first page of 58 records and those 5 numbers at bottom are links to each page that will display next 10 records. I got all that. but what I want to do is display the links in this way: 1-10 11-20 21-30 31-40 41-50 51-58 note: since i have 58 records, last link will display upto 58, instead of 60. Since I used the loop to create this link, depending on how many records i have, the link will change according to the number of records in my table. How can i do this? Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to create an array with different href's to then attach to 5 separate elements. This is my code: var link = new Array('link1', 'link2', 'link3', 'link4', 'link5'); $(document.createElement("li")) .attr('class',options.numericId + (i+1)) .html('<a rel='+ i +' href=\"page.php# + 'link'\">'+ '</a>') .appendTo($("."+ options.numericId)) As you can see I am trying to append these items from the array to the end of my page so each link will take the user to a different section of the page. But i have not been able to do this. Is there a way to to create elements with different links? I am new to javascript so I am sorry if this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If anyone is confused by what i am asking here I can try to clarify if I get some feedback. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, jason

Where is the iPhone's Date & Time getting it's time zone list

I can get a list of time zones with [NSTimeZone knownTimeZoneNames], but that only gives the time zone IDs which include one or 2 cities in each time zone. The Date & Time settings has a great list of cities and I have seen a few other apps that have the same if not similar lookup lists. Where do these lists come from?? I do need to relate a picked city to it's time zone like Date & Time does. Thanks, John

Is there a way to also implicitly know which tuples have been used which satisfy the condition for sum ? I know you can separately write another query to just return the primary key ids which satisfy the condition. But, Is there any other way to do that in the same query ? probably rewrite the query in some way ? or... any suggestion ?

I am using qunit and jquery. Latest version of both. In my code when I submit the form I have the event as e. I call e.serializeArray() Here is my test. equals(args.data, [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "john" } ], 'input data'); And this is the error message from qunit. expected: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] result: [ { "name": "user_name", "value": "david" } ] As you can see to the naked eye the expected and result value is same but qunit is not liking it. I guess I am missing something.

Multi-Threading in .NET

Hi all.. I wrote this program, that is supposed to read about 5000 email address and send an pre-defined html mail. I am using the background worker component. The problem is this: I have wired up the method who is supposed to send the mail. But I am calling another method that is supposed to append the body html to the salutation, like public string GiveMeFullHtml(string personname) ... "Dear Mr. John Doe" + HTML ... It seems that when it hits this method call, operation completes. IUt only sends the first mail and completes. I think because the HTML string method is on another thread or sth like that. Can you give me a little insight. Do I have to get everything done in the very same method when using multi-threading? Thanks in advance

How to Look Up Email by Full Name in Active Directory?

I want to search for a user's email by using Active Directory. Available is the user's full name (ex. "John Doe" for the email with an email "[email protected]"). From what I've searched, this comes close to what I'm looking to do -- except that the Filter is set to "SAMAccountName", which is not what I have. Unless I'm misunderstanding, I just need to pick the right attribute and toss in the full name name in the same way. Unfortunately, I don't know what this attribute is, apparently no one has had to ask about searching for information in this manner, and that is a pretty big list (msdn * microsoft * com/en-us/library/ms675090(v=VS.85) * aspx, stackoverflow didn't let me link 2 hyperlinks because I don't have 10 rep) of attributes. Does anyone know how to obtain the user's email address through an Active Directory lookup by using the user's full name?

How do I add a space between two concatenated NSStrings?

I have three string objects: NSString *firstName; NSString *lastName; NSString *fullName; The values for firstName and lastName are received from NSTextFields. I then want to concatenate the two strings and place the result in fullname. This is the code that I'm using: fullName = [firstName stringByAppendingString:lastName]; However, the result does not put a space between the two names (e.g. JohnSmith). How do I add in the space? I'd like the result to look like (John Smith).

FOR XML PATH('') but that was inlcuding weird encoded characters (eg. carriage return). ... so i'm not 100% happy with that. I also tried to see if there's a COALESCE solution, but all my attempts failed. So - any suggestions?

Compare values for audit trail

I'm attempting to develop an audit trail/tracking solution for an existing database written in PLSQL/PHP - however I'm still unsure as of yet on an easy (to implement and maintain) solution for tracking changes to fields/values. For instance, the project tracking portion of the DB APP tracks over 200 fields and ideally I'd like a nice way to show a history of changes, such as: 5/10/2010 - Project 435232 updated by John Doe Changed Project Name (Old: Test Project; New: Super Test Project) Changed Submission Date (Old: 5/10/2010; New: 5/11/2010) Changed Description (Old: This is an example!; New: This is a test example) Essentially for each field (db column) it would output a new line to show the old/new values. So far my current idea is saving the current version of the data to a temporary table, updating the primary table with the new data then loading each row into an array and doing an array compare to determine the differences. This seems a bit convoluted, and if there is an easier method I'd love to know it. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated!

How do I accumulate values in t-SQL? AFAIK there is no ARRAY type. I want to reuse the values like demonstrated in this PostgreSQL example using array_agg(). I'm trying out the Highcharts jQuery plugin for creating charts of data in an MVC application. But I need to get the data for the function dynamically from an Action Method. How can I do that? Intersection of two querysets in django

Hello, I can't do an AND on two querysets. As in, q1 & q2. I get the empty set and I do not know why. I have tested this with the simplest cases. I am using django 1.1.1 I have basically objects like this: item1 name="Joe" color = "blue" item2 name="Jim" color = "blue" color = "white" item3 name="John" color = "red" color = "white" Is there something weird about having a many-to-many relationship or what am I missing? queryset1 = Item.objects.filter(color="blue") this gives (item1, item2) queryset2 = Item.objects.filter(color="white") this gives (item2, item3) queryset1 & queryset2 gives me the empty set [] The OR operator works fine (I'm using "|" ) Why is this so?
