  i use nicEdit to write RTF data in my CMS. The problem is that it generates strings like this: hello first line<br><br />this is a second line<br />this is a 3rd line since this is for a news site, i much prefer the final html to be like this: <p>hello first line</p><p>this is a second line<br />this is a 3rd line</p> so my current solution is this: i need to trim the $data for <br /> at the start/end of the string replace <br /><br /> with </p><p> (one single <br /> is allowed). finally, add <p> at the start and </p> at the end i only have the 3rd step so far. can someone give me a hand with steps 1 and 2? function replace_br($data) { # step 3 $data = '<p>'.$data.'</p>'; return $data; } thanks! ps: it would be even better to avoid specific situations. example: "hello<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />too much space" -- those 5 breaklines should also be converted to just one "</p><p>"

• Batch folder of images into grayscale using php

  Can anyone spot where I'm going wrong here. It should be creating grayscale copies of images in one folder and saving them in another folder. Could it be to do with the way im referencing the file locations.   I wanted to write an iptables script in Python. Rather than calling iptables itself I wanted to use the python-iptables package. However I'm having a hard time getting some basic rules setup. I wanted to use the filter chain to accept incoming TCP traffic on port 1234. • Powershell - Splitting string into seperate components

  I am writing a script which will basically do the following: Read from a text file some arguements: DriveLetter ThreeLetterCode ServerName VolumeLetter Integer Eg. W MSS SERVER01 C 1 These values happen to form a folder destination W:\MSS\, and a filename which works in the following naming convention: SERVERNAME_VOLUMELETTER_VOL-b00X-iYYY.spi - Where The X is the Integer above The value Y I need to work out later, as this happens to be the value of the incremental image (backups) and I need to work out the latest incremental. So at the moment -- Count lines in file, and loop for this many lines. $lines = Get-Content -Path PostBackupCheck-Textfile.txt | Measure-Object -Line for ($i=0; $i -le $lines.Lines; $i++) Within this loop I need to do a Get-Content to read off the line I am currently looking at i.e. line 0, line 1, line 2, as there will be multiple lines in the format I wrote at the beginning and split the line into an array, whereby each part of the file, as seen above naming convention, is in a[0], a[1], a[2]. etc The reason for this is because, I need to then sort the folder that contains these, find the latest file, by date, and take the _iXXX.spi part and place this into the array value a[X] so I then have a complete filename to mount. This value will replace iYYY.spi It's a little complex because I also have to make sure when I do a Get-ChildItem with -Include before I sort it all by date, I am only including the filename that matches the arguements fed to it from the text file : So, SERVER01_C_VOL-b001-iYYY.spi and not anything else. i.e. not SERVER01_D_VOL-b001-iYYY.spi Then take the iYYY value from the sort on the Get-ChildItem -Include and place that into the appropriate array item.   I'm resizing some images to the screen resolution of the user; if the aspect ratio is wrong, the image should be cut. • Regex for removing certain variable numeric values from some text

  I want to substitute all 4 instances of the number 300 from the code below, with 470. <div> <object width="300" height="300"> <embed src="link-removed" width="300" height="300"></embed> </object> <p> <a href="another-link">link</a> </p> </div> The width and height of the code being pasted might not always be 300 by 300. So I figure I probably need a regular expression that subs any numeric value that follows the strings "width=" and "height=", whilst remembering to account for the quotations marks that surround the number. Can anyone tell me if that's the best way, and if so, what would be the best regex? In case it matters, the code being pasted is stored as "text" in the db rather than as a string, as it's quite lengthy (i've removed a few hundred chars from what you see pasted here)...

• What is the easiest way to read wav-files using Python [summary]?

  I want to use Python to access a wav-file and write its content in a form which allows me to analyze it (let's say arrays). I heard that "audiolab" is a suitable tool for that (it transforms numpy arrays into wav and vica versa). I have installed the "audiolab" but I had a problem with the version of numpy (I could not "from numpy.testing import Tester"). I had 1.1.1. version of numpy. I have installed a newer version on numpy (1.4.0). • Problem running python/matplotlib in background after ending ssh session.

  Hi there, I have to VPN and then ssh from home to my work server and want to run a python script in the background, then log out of the ssh session. My script makes several histogram plots using matplotlib, and as long as I keep the connection open everything is fine, but if I log out I keep getting an error message in the log file I created for the script. The way that I'm creating the figures is, loglog() hist(list,x) ylabel('y') xlabel('x') savefig('%s_hist.ps' %source.name) close() The script requires some initial input, so the way I'm running it in the background is python scriptToRun.py << start>& logfile.log& Is there a way around this, or do I just have to stay ssh'd into my machine? I can just stretch it (or reduce its size) by using: .fooimage {width: 300px; height: 400px;} $("foo").innerHTML = "<img src='"+this.someimage+"' class='fooimage' />"; Or I could test its size: imgHeight = newImg.height; imgWidth = newImg.width; ... and maybe something like this: if(imgHeight >400){ $("foo").innerHTML = "<img src='"+this.someimage+"' height='400' />"; } and browsers will do the rest. But there must be something better. Any ideas? Thanks! :)

The reason I want to do this is so if there isn't much content to display, the vertical border still goes all the way down. • UITableViewIndex Grows to Incorrect Bounds Unexpectedly

  I have a standard UITableView + UISearchDisplayController + UITableViewIndex setup. Everything works like a champ. Except, under very specific conditions, the index grows too long to display on the screen. Specifically, after ending a search and re-displaying the unfiltered, indexed table, the index sometimes grows too long. More specifically, this doesn't happen if I search then cancel. It only happens if I search, then push a view controller from the search table, then pop that view controller back to the still-searching table, then cancel the search, then re-search and then cancel that final search. After the end of the final search the index is too long. In portrait, the table view is reporting a height of 416 and the index a height of 404 under normal conditions. If I log from searchDisplayControllerDidEndSearch when the index is sized incorrectly, it is reporting a height of 620. I've tried everything from setLayout on the table and the index to manually re-sizing the frame. Nothing works (the manual re-size causes the correct height to be logged, but it doesn't change the display on screen). I was about to try re-sizing after a delay in case the cancel animation was interfering, but then I realized what an absurd situation I'm in and thought seeking help might be wise...

• How do I perform a flip and grow animation like in iPhoto 09?

  I'm developing a Cocoa application and want to be able to click a button in one of the views in my NSCollectionView and have a details view flip open and position to the middle of the screen like it does in iPhoto 09 when you click the "i" in the bottom-right hand corner of a photo. The photo "flips" and grows, centered on the window to reveal details about the photo. I'm guessing they're using Core Animation to achieve this. I've been looking at the Lemur Flip example, but when I try to modify it to add repositioning code to the animation, it throws off the flip.
