  I couldn't find a working example of the method [NSDictionary getObjects:andKeys:] on Google. The only link I could find, doesn't compile. I provided the errors/warnings here in case someone is searching for them. The documentation says that it returns a C array.   I need to fill a byte[] with a single non-zero value. How can I do this in C# without looping through each byte in the array? Update: The comments seem to have split this into two questions - Is there a Framework method to fill a byte[] that might be akin to memset What is the most efficient way to do it when we are dealing with a very large array? I totally agree that using a simple loop works just fine, as Eric and others have pointed out. The point of the question was to see if I could learn something new about C# :) I think Juliet's method for a Parallel operation should be even faster than a simple loop. • cellForRowAtIndexPath not being called on tableView reloadData

  I have a UITableView on one view that loads in data at the start of the application, and then later when a user enters text into a box and hits a button, I re-query the database, re-populate the original NSMutableArray that stores the data for the table. All of that is working perfectly. In some logging statements I can tell that the array has the correct information, the numberOfRowsInSection method is returning the proper count, and is being called after the reload is called. However, the cellForRowAtIndexPath is never called the second time (after the reload) and the table data is never updated. I've spent hours searching the net and I've found nothing that helps. Can anyone help? Is there any other way apart from creating a Generic list, traversing the whole array and adding the element in the List? Present Situation: string[] strList = {'foo','bar','meh'}; List<string> listOfStr = new List<string>(); foreach(string s in strList) { listOfStr.Add(s); } My ideal situation: string[] strList = {'foo','bar','meh'}; List<string> listOfStr = strList.ToList<string>(); Or: string[] strList = {'foo','bar','meh'}; List<string> listOfStr = new List<string>(strList); I am suggesting the last 2 method names as I think compiler or CLR can perform some optimizations on the whole operations if It want inbuilt.   Hi, I'm using malloc to make an error check of whether memory can be allocated or not for the particular array z1. ARRAY_SIZE is a predefined with a numerical value. I use casting as I've read it's safe to do so. long double *z1 = (long double *)malloc(sizeof (long double) * ARRAY_SIZE); if(z1 == NULL){ printf("Out of memory\n"); exit(-1); } The above is just a snippet of my code, but when I add the error checking part (contained in the if statement above), I get a lot of compile time errors with visual studio 2008. It is this error checking part that's generating all the errors. What am I doing wrong? On a related issue with malloc, I understand that the memory needs to be deallocated/freed after the variable/array z1 has been used. For the array z1, I use: free(z1); z1 = NULL; Is the second line z1 = NULL necessary? Thanks a lot...

  I'm relatively new to web services, but I need to integrate a call to an existing service in my application. Ideally, I'd like to use JAX-WS because I'm looking for the simplest, quickest-to-develop solution on my end, and MyEclipse is able to generate a JAX-WS client from a WSDL. Unfortunately, the WSDL I've inherited was built from what appears to be Axis using RPC. Will this still work? • cannot convert 'b2PolygonShape' to 'objc_object*' in argument passing

  Hey there, I am not sure if many of you are familiar with the box2d physics engine, but I am using it within cocos2d and objective c. This more or less could be a general objective-c question though, I am performing this: NSMutableArray *allShapes = [[NSMutableArray array] retain]; b2PolygonShape shape; .. .. [allShapes addObject:shape]; and receiving this error on the addObject definition on build: cannot convert 'b2PolygonShape' to 'objc_object*' in argument passing So more or less I guess I want to know how to add a b2PolygonShape to a mutable array. b2PolygonShape appears to just be a class, not a struct or anything like that. The closest thing I could find on google to which I think could do this is described as 'encapsulating the b2PolygonShape as an NSObject and then add that to the array', but not sure the best way to do this, however I would have thought this object should add using addObject, as some of my other instantiated class objects add to arrays fine. Is this all because b2PolygonShape does not inherit NSObject at it's root? Thanks

• How do I store more information in a marker?

  Hello, I'm using Google Maps v3 and I build in the server side a json collection of location data. So when I receive that, I iterate through that collection and create a marker object for each and every one of them. For each of these markers, I bind them with the click event, so when the user clicks on a marker in the map, it displays an infoWindow with data related to the associated location. I have an array to store all the location got from the server that holds the retrieved json objects and their corresponding marker. The problem is that, even when I have an array that I can reference or iterate through, I need to not only get the marker object when the user clicks on them, but also the location object, that stores more information. I tried to mantain this array of objects and reference it from the calling object without success, because the function is called by the marker and not the location object. So I thought if it's possible to store more information in the google maps marker object like using a general purpose field. Please let me know if more information is needed. Thanks!

  I have a textfield that contains say for example the following text:- "A traditional English dish comprising sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with vegetables and gravy." This textfield is in a form that simply updates an item record using it's ID. If I edit part of the textfield and replace "and gravy." with "humous." So that the textfield now contains "A traditional English dish comprising sausages in Yorkshire pudding batter, usually served with vegetables and humous." • Iphone SQLite Databse with german umlauts results in NULL value

  Hi guys, I'm quite new to the Iphone development and after search for an answer for 3 hours now, I hope that you guys can give me a hand. My problem is that I have a SQLite Database with german umlauts. Looking at it with a SQLite browser tool shows me that the data is stored with german umlauts, correctly. But selecting fields with german umlauts in it results in a NULL value. I'm already using "stringWithUTF8String", so I don't get the point where the problem is placed.   When I'm retrieving image from the sqlite database my Bitmap object bm return null value can any one help me..? I found problem in my database.. When I store the byte array in blob data type in database table that time the size of the byte array was 2280.. • Implementing Naïve Bayes algorithm in Java - Need some guidance

  hello stackflow people As a School assignment i'm required to implement Naïve Bayes algorithm which i am intending to do in Java. In trying to understand how its done, i've read the book "Data Mining - Practical Machine Learning Tools and Techniques" which has a section on this topic but am still unsure on some primary points that are blocking my progress. Since i'm seeking guidance not solution in here, i'll tell you guys what i thinking in my head, what i think is the correct approach and in return ask for correction/guidance which will very much be appreciated. please note that i am an absolute beginner on Naïve Bayes algorithm, Data mining and in general programming so you might see stupid comments/calculations below: The training data set i'm given has 4 attributes/features that are numeric and normalized(in range[0 1]) using Weka (no missing values)and one nominal class(yes/no) 1) The data coming from a csv file is numeric HENCE * Given the attributes are numeric i use PDF (probability density function) formula. + To calculate the PDF in java i first separate the attributes based on whether they're in class yes or class no and hold them into different array (array class yes and array class no) + Then calculate the mean(sum of the values in row / number of values in that row) and standard divination for each of the 4 attributes (columns) of each class + Now to find PDF of a given value(n) i do (n-mean)^2/(2*SD^2), + Then to find P( yes | E) and P( no | E) i multiply the PDF value of all 4 given attributes and compare which is larger, which indicates the class it belongs to In temrs of Java, i'm using ArrayList of ArrayList and Double to store the attribute values. lastly i'm unsure how to to get new data? Should i ask for input file (like csv) or command prompt and ask for 4 values? I'll stop here for now (do have more questions) but I'm worried this won't get any responses given how long its got. I will really appreciate for those that give their time reading my problems and comment.

• Design patter to keep track UITableView rows correspondance to underlying data in constant time.

  When my model changes I want to animate changes in UITableView by inserting/deleting rows. For that I need to know the ordinal of the given row (so I can construct NSIndexPath), which I find hard to do in better-than-linear time. For example, consider that I have a list of addressbook entries which are manualy sorted by the user, i.e. there is no ordering "key" that represents the sort order. There is also a corresponding UITableView that shows one row per addressbook entry. When UITableView queries the datasource I query the NSMUtableArray populated with my entries and return required data in constant time for each row. However, if there is a change in underlying model I am getting a notification "Joe Smith, id#123 has been removed". Now I have a dilemma. A naive approach would be to scan the array, determine the index at which Joe Smith is and then ask UITableView to remove that precise row from the view, also removing it form the array. However, the scan will take linear time to finish. Now I could have an NSDictionary which allows me to find Joe Smith in constant time, but that doesn't do me a lot of good because I still need to find his ordinal index within the array in order to instruct UITableView to remove that row, which is again a linear search. I could further decide to store each object's ordinal inside the object itself to make it constant, but it will become outdated after first such update as all subsequent index values will have changed due to removal of an object. So what is the correct design pattern to accurately reflect model changes in the UITableView in costant (or at least logarithmic) time?

  Hey all, I've created a widget that will essentially unlock a music track, providing you post to either your twitter account, or facebook wall. I've signed up through facebook connect and I am able to successfully post onto my own wall... but the functionality I'm looking for is to be able to take ones username and password and automatically log in to facebook, and send my desired message. I create a new contact and get the id of a prospect list all using classes I created which are just wrappers for the soap api calls sugar provides. I know this for a fact because I add a contact via the soap call and also retrieve the id of a prospect list via the soap call. I found this thread in the sugar forums and I did try the code given there but I still got the same error. Anyone have a solution for this? I really need to associate a contact to a prospect list (target list) via a soap call. I am using SugarCRM 5.5.0 (I also tried with sugarcrm 5.5.2 and got the same error) on ubuntu server using mysql. Thanks!

  Hello, Let's imagine that we have table items... table: items item_id INT PRIMARY AUTO_INCREMENT title VARCHAR(255) views INT Let's imagine that it is filled with something like (1, item-1, 10), (2, item-2, 10), (3, item-3, 15) I want to make multi update view for this items from data taken from this array [item_id] = [views] '1' => '50', '2' => '60', '3' => '70', '5' => '10' IMPORTANT! Please note that we have item_id=5 in array, but we don't have item_id=5 in database. I can use INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE, but this way image_id=5 will be inserted into talbe items. How to avoid inserting new key? I just want item_id=5 be skipped because it is not in table. Of course, before execution I can select existing keys from items table; then compare with keys in array; delete nonexistent keys and perform INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE. But maybe there is some more elegant solutions? Thank you.

And I don't have to create a folder for the "default language". Are there other pros and cos of using gettext and php arrays for multilingual websites?   I am trying to get the jQuery autocomplete plugin to take a local JSON variable as input. Once the user has selected one option from the autocomplete list, I want the adjacent address fields to be autopopulated. • iPhone JSON object releasing itself?

  I'm using the JSON Framework addon for iPhone's Objective-C to catch a JSON object that's an array of Dictionary-style objects via HTTP. Here's my connectionDidFinishLoading function: - (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [connection release]; NSString *responseString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:responseData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [loadingIndicator stopAnimating]; NSArray *responseArray = [responseString JSONValue]; // Grab the JSON array of dictionaries NSLog(@"Response Array: %@", responseArray); if ([responseArray respondsToSelector:@selector(count)]) { NSLog(@"Returned %@ items", [responseArray count]); } [responseArray release]; [responseString release]; } The issue is that the code is throwing a EXC_BAD_ACCESS error on the second NSLog line. The EXC_BAD_ACCESS error I think indicates that the variable got released from memory, but the first NSLog command works just fine (and shows that the data is all there); it seems that only when calling the count message is causing the error, but the respondsToSelector call at least thinks that the responseArray should be able to respond to that message. When running with the debugger, it crashes on that second line, but the stack shows that the responseArray object is still defined, and has 12 objects in it (so the debugger at least is able to get an accurate count of the contents of that variable). Is this a problem with the JSON framework's creation of that NSArray, or is there something wrong with my code?
