  • How to Read some of the properties of the ItemSource when Laying out the Children?

    - by user275561
Assume that I have the ItemSource bound and i am getting the data. Now what I want is this. The ItemSource will contain Data that tells where each button should be. For Example: The first Button could be at Left:200,Top:0, the Second could be Left:50 Top:20. </ItemsControl.Resources> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <Controls:MatrixCanvas /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <item:CustomButton Height="{Binding btnSize}" Width="{Binding btnSize}" Style="{Binding bbColor,Converter={StaticResource ButtonStyleConverter}}" /> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size finalSize) { foreach (var child in Children) { //The child } return base.ArrangeOverride(finalSize); } The Child however is not giving me access to the Item that I want. Is their a good solution for this? Am I going about this the wrong way? The reason I am doing it like this is because their can be buttons added dynamically, removed, some buttons will need to move around etc..

  • Consuming C# Webservice

    - by Debby
Hi, I have a simple webservice running and I have a console application client consuming the service. I did have issues getting this running and I had been helped by some wonderful people in this community. I have another problem, if i want to call the service from the client in a loop, it doesnt work. It works only for the first time and then it just keeps waiting. • DesignTime data not showing in Blend when bound against CollectionViewSource

    - by bitbonk
I have datatemplate for a viewmodel where an itemscontrol is bound again a CollectionViewSource (to enable sorting in xaml). <DataTemplate x:Key="equipmentDataTemplate"> <Viewbox> <Viewbox.Resources> <CollectionViewSource x:Key="viewSource" Source="{Binding Modules}"> <CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions> <scm:SortDescription PropertyName="ID" Direction="Ascending"/> </CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions> </CollectionViewSource> </Viewbox.Resources> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource viewSource}}" Height="{DynamicResource equipmentHeight}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource moduleDataTemplate}"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" /> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> </ItemsControl> </Viewbox> </DataTemplate> I have also setup the UserControl where all of this is defined to provide designtime data d:DataContext="{x:Static vm:DesignTimeHelper.Equipment}"> This is basically a static property that gives me an EquipmentViewModel that has a list of ModuleViewModels (Equipment.Modules). Now as long as I bind to the CollectionViewSource the designtime data does not show up in blend 3. When I bind to the ViewModel collection directly <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Modules}" I can see the designtime data. Any idea what I could do?

  • h:commandButton action not working inside a h:datatable.

    - by Chris
I'm stuck with this piece of jsf code that I don't understand why it's working when used outside a datatable and doesn't inside a datatable... <h:dataTable id="myTable" rendered="true" value="#{bean.selectedItemsList}" var="items"> <h:column> <h:commandButton action="#{bean.removeItemFromList}" image="/resources/images/deleterow.gif"> <f:actionListener binding="#{bean.actionListenerImpl}" type="com.mycorp.ActionListenerImpl"/> </h:commandButton> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{items}" /> </h:column> </h:dataTable> I read around the net to put value="#{items}" inside the action listener so the action can get the items in the row like this: <f:actionListener value="#{items}" binding="#{bean.actionListenerImpl}" type="com.mycorp.ActionListenerImpl"/> But it's doesn't work either. Bu if I do the action outside the data table everything work fine. <h:commandButton action="#{bean.removeItemFromList}" image="/resources/images/deleterow.gif"> <f:actionListener binding="#{bean.actionListenerImpl}" type="com.mycorp.ActionListenerImpl"/> </h:commandButton> Side note I also tried a4j:commandButton and didn't so I guess my problem is probably the actionlistener or how the bean handling it.

  • How can a ListBoxItem property be set in Silverlight at runtime?

    - by sympatric greg
    Given this XAML, I need to resize the userControl in response to user input. How can I set a new width for ListBoxItem (or perhaps the StackPanel)? <ScrollViewer x:Name="ScrollViewer" Margin="0" BorderBrush="Transparent" Width="165" VerticalScrollBarVisibility="Auto" HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Hidden"> <ListBox x:Name="AttributeListBox" ItemsSource="{Binding Attributes}" BorderBrush="Red" Width="160" Foreground="AntiqueWhite" Background="Transparent" IsEnabled="False" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="Width" Value="150"/> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="0,-2,0,0"/> <Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Left" /> <Setter Property="Template" Value="{StaticResource ListBoxItemSansFocus}" /> </Style> </ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel x:Name="ListBoxItemStackPanel" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Orientation="Vertical" > <TextBlock FontSize="10" Text="{Binding Key}" Foreground="White" FontWeight="Bold" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="2,0,0,0" TextWrapping="Wrap"/> <TextBlock FontSize="10" Text="{Binding Value}" Foreground="White" Margin="6,-2,0,0" TextWrapping="Wrap"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </ScrollViewer>

  • Dependency Property ListBox

    - by developer
    Hi All, I want to use a dependency property, so that my label displays values selected in the listbox. This is just to more clearly understand the working of a dependency property. <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:WPFToolkit="clr-namespace:Microsoft.Windows.Controls;assembly=WPFToolkit" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1" x:Name="MyWindow" Height="200" Width="300" > <StackPanel> <ListBox x:Name="lbColor" Width="248" Height="56" ItemsSource="{Binding TestColor}"/> <StackPanel> <Label Content="{Binding Path=Test, ElementName=lbColor}" /> </StackPanel> </StackPanel> </Window> Code Behind, namespace WpfApplication1 { /// <summary> /// Interaction logic for Window1.xaml /// </summary> public partial class Window1 : Window { public ObservableCollection<string> TestColor { get; set; } public String Test { get { return (String)GetValue(TestProperty); } set { SetValue(TestProperty, value); } } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for Title. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty TestProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Test", typeof(String), typeof(ListBox), new UIPropertyMetadata("Test1")); public Window1() { InitializeComponent(); TestColor = new ObservableCollection<string>(); DataContext = this; TestColor.Add("Red"); TestColor.Add("Orange"); TestColor.Add("Yellow"); TestColor.Add("Green"); TestColor.Add("Blue"); } } } Can anyone explain me how will I accompalish this using a dependency property. Somehow I am very confused with the Dependency Property concept, and I just wanted to see a working example for that.

  • Silverlight 3 + Java WebService

    - by Heko
Hello! I have a Silverlight 3 project, and I need to call a Java WebService - the bindings are ok (SOAP 1.1 and basicHttpBinding): ClientConfig File: <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpBinding" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="None"> <transport> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </transport> </security> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="myAddress" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpBinding" contract="SkyInfoServiceReference.SkyinfoTestInterface" name="SkyinfoTestInterfaceExport2_SkyinfoTestInterfaceHttpPort" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> When I call a method on client I get this Policy error: An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI '...'. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent. This error may also be caused by using internal types in the web service proxy without using the InternalsVisibleToAttribute attribute. Please see the inner exception for more details. I know about those 2 policy XML filesbut Java EE service which I'm trying to call is hosted on a IBM WebSphere Process Server to which I don't have access. Does anybody know how to work around this policy exception?

  • Dynamically add columns to a listbox

    - by mgroves
    I'm brand new to Windows Phone 7 development, and almost as equally new to Silverlight. I have a ListBox with a DataTemplate, StackPanel, and TextBlocks like so: <ListBox Height="355" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="6,291,0,0" Name="detailsList" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="474" Background="#36FFFFFF"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Width="50" Text="{Binding Ticker}" /> <TextBlock Width="50" Text="{Binding Price}" /> <TextBlock Width="50" Text="{Binding GainLoss}" /> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> I have some C# code to populate it: var info = new List<StockInfo>(); info.Add(new StockInfo { Ticker = "C", Price = "5.18", GainLoss = "10" }); info.Add(new StockInfo { Ticker = "WEN", Price = "4.18", GainLoss = "12" }); info.Add(new StockInfo { Ticker = "CBB", Price = "5.22", GainLoss = "210" }); detailsList.ItemsSource = info; And that all works fine. My question is: how do I add/remove additional 'textblocks' to the listbox dynamically (at runtime)? Also, how do I put column headers on the list box?

  • State Animation on ListBox ItemTemplate

    - by Peanut
I have a listbox which reads from Observable collection, and is ItemTemplate'ed: <DataTemplate x:Key="DataTemplate1"> <Grid x:Name="grid" Height="47.333" Width="577" Opacity="0.495"> <Image HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="10.668,8,0,8" Width="34" Source="{Binding ImageLocation}"/> <TextBlock Margin="56,8,172.334,8" TextWrapping="Wrap" Text="{Binding ApplicationName}" FontSize="21.333"/> <Grid x:Name="grid1" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Margin="0,10.003,-0.009,11.33" Width="26" Opacity="0" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <Image HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="0" Source="image/downloads.png" Stretch="Fill" MouseDown="Image_MouseDown" /> </Grid> </Grid> </DataTemplate> <ListBox x:Name="searchlist" Margin="8" ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource DataTemplate1}" ItemsSource="{Binding SearchResults}" SelectionChanged="searchlist_SelectionChanged" ItemContainerStyle="{DynamicResource ListBoxItemStyle1}" /> In general, my question is "What is the easiest way to do Animation on Particular Items in this listbox As they are selected? Basically the image inside the "grid1" will be setting its opacity to 1, slowly. I would prefer to use states, but I do not know of any way to just tell blend and xaml to "When a selected item is changed, change the image opacity to 1 over a period of .3 seconds". Infact, I have been doing this in the .cs file using the VisualStateManager. Also, there is another issue. When the selected index is changed, we goto the CS file and look at SelectedItem. SelectedItem returns an instance of the Object in which it was bound to (The object inside the observable collection), and NOT an instance of the DataTemplate/ListItem etc. So how am I able to pull the correct image out of this list? State animation with VisualStateManager I can handle fine if its just normal things, but when it comes to generated listboxes' items, I'm lost. Thanks

  • WPF - How to stop an ItemsControl psuedo-grid's columns from dancing/jumping around during layout

    - by Drew Noakes
Several other questions on SO have come to the same conclusion I have -- using an ItemsControl with a DataTemplate for each item constructed to position items such that they resemble a grid is much simpler (especially to format) than using a ListView. The code resembles: <StackPanel Grid.IsSharedSizeScope="True"> <!-- Header --> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" SharedSizeGroup="Column1" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" SharedSizeGroup="Column2" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBlock Grid.Column="0" Text="Column Header 1" /> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Text="Column Header 2" /> </Grid> <!-- Items --> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Path=Values, Mode=OneWay}"> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" SharedSizeGroup="Column1" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" SharedSizeGroup="Column2" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBlock Grid.Column="0" Text="{Binding ColumnProperty1}" /> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding ColumnProperty2}" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> </StackPanel> The problem I'm seeing is that whenever I swap the object to which the ItemsSource is bound (it's an ObservableCollection that I replace the reference to, rather than clear and re-add), the entire 'grid' dances about for a few seconds. Presumably it is making a few layout passes to get all the Auto-width columns to match up. This is very distracting for my users and I'd like to get it sorted out. Has anyone else seen this?

  • WPF: Horizontal Alignment

    - by emptyset
    Probably I'm just missing something obvious, but I can't get the image in my DataTemplate to align to the right in the Grid, so that when the window is stretched, the image is "pulled" to the right as well: <Window.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="PersonTemplate" DataType="Minimal.Client.Person"> <Border BorderBrush="Purple" BorderThickness="2" CornerRadius="2" Padding="5" Margin="5"> <Grid Margin="10"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" MinWidth="200"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" MaxWidth="200"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Column ="0" Orientation="Horizontal" > <TextBlock FontFamily="Verdana" FontSize="16" FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding LastName}" /> <TextBlock FontFamily="Verdana" FontSize="16" Text=", " /> <TextBlock FontFamily="Verdana" FontSize="16" Text="{Binding FirstName}" /> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Grid.Column="1" Orientation="Vertical" HorizontalAlignment="Right"> <Border BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="1"> <Image Source="{Binding Picture}" Width="180" Height="150" /> </Border> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Border> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> Any suggestions?

  • Scrolling list items in wpf

    - by sudarsanyes
    I guess the following picture depicts the problem better than texts... That is what I need. <ListBox x:Name="NamesListBox" ItemsSource="{Binding}"> <ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <WrapPanel x:Name="ItemWrapPanel"> <WrapPanel.RenderTransform> <TranslateTransform x:Name="ItemWrapPanelTransformation" X="0" /> </WrapPanel.RenderTransform> <WrapPanel.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="WrapPanel.Loaded"> <BeginStoryboard> <Storyboard> <DoubleAnimation Storyboard.TargetName="ItemWrapPanelTransformation" Storyboard.TargetProperty="X" To="-1000" From="{Binding ElementName=ScrollingListItemsWindow, Path=Width}" Duration="0:0:9" RepeatBehavior="100" /> </Storyboard> </BeginStoryboard> </EventTrigger> </WrapPanel.Triggers> </WrapPanel> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <Label Content="{Binding}" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> is what I did. But here I don't wanna hard code -1000 for the X value, rather I want to determine this based on the length of the wrap panel/number of items. Can somebody help me with this ?? Reason why I choose list box is that the number of items can increase and decrease at any time and suits the problem better. If you have got any other idea, please suggest it too. Thanks.

  • Borderless ImageButtons in WrapPanel

I am attempting to create a WrapPanel with seamless ImageButtons containing Artwork. • WCF throttling and emptying the listenBacklog quickly

    - by user1161625
I'm sort of a WCF newbie (inheriting tasks from someone) and I'm trying to better throttle my application. We have a service that sends print jobs to the Windows print queue and it seems that rather than dumping all of the jobs into the queue it holds on to them in the listenBacklog and slowly releases them to the Windows print queue. Here is my throttling behavior: <behavior name="throttling"> <serviceThrottling maxConcurrentCalls="144" maxConcurrentSessions="1168" /> <serviceDebug httpHelpPageEnabled="true" includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true"/> </behavior> I'm using a custom binding for this service also which is here: <customBinding> <binding name="oneWayPrintBinding" receiveTimeout="00:30:00"> <reliableSession maxPendingChannels="16" inactivityTimeout="01:30:00" /> <binaryMessageEncoding> <readerQuotas maxDepth="2147483647" maxStringContentLength="2147483647" maxArrayLength="2147483647" /> </binaryMessageEncoding> <tcpTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="67108864" listenBacklog="1024" /> </binding> </customBinding> Any recommendations would be very helpful. • How can I bind another DependencyProperty to the IsChecked Property of a CheckBox?

    - by speedmetal
    Here's an example of what I'm trying to accomplish: <Window x:Class="CheckBoxBinding.MainWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525"> <StackPanel> <CheckBox Name="myCheckBox">this</CheckBox> <Grid> <Grid.Resources> <Style TargetType="ListBox"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="{Binding ElementName=myCheckBox, Path=IsChecked}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Red" /> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Grid.Resources> <ListBox> <ListBoxItem>item</ListBoxItem> <ListBoxItem>another</ListBoxItem> </ListBox> </Grid> </StackPanel> </Window> When I try to run it, I get this XamlParseException: A 'Binding' cannot be set on the 'Property' property of type 'Trigger'. A 'Binding' can only be set on a DependencyProperty of a DependencyObject. So how can I bind a property on the ListBox to the IsChecked property of a CheckBox?

  • Why does implementing ObservableCollection crash my silverlight application?

    - by Sudeep
Hi, I have a combobox whose ItemsSource property is bound to an ObservableCollection property and its SelectedIndex property is bound to an integer property respectively. <ComboBox Name="cmbDealt" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=DealList, Mode=TwoWay}" SelectedIndex="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=DealIndex}"></ComboBox> <CheckBox IsChecked="{Binding Mode=TwoWay, Path=SomeCondition}" Content="Some Condition"></CheckBox> My data structure looks like private ObservableCollection<string> m_DealList = null; private int m_DealIndex = 0; private bool m_SomeCondition = false; public ObservableCollection<string> DealList { get { if (m_DealList == null) m_DealList = new ObservableCollection<string>(); else m_DealList.Clear(); if (m_SomeCondition) { m_DealList.Add("ABC"); m_DealList.Add("DEF"); } else { m_DealList.Add("UVW"); m_DealList.Add("XYZ"); } return m_DealList; } } public int DealIndex { get { return m_DealIndex; } set { if (value != -1) { m_DealIndex = value; } } } public bool SomeCondition { get { return m_SomeCondition; } set { m_SomeCondition = value; OnPropertyChanged("DealList"); OnPropertyChanged("DealIndex"); } } Now the application loads successfully. However, when the user changes the SelectedIndex of the ComboBox to 1 from 0 and then checks the checkbox (so as to call the "DealIndex" property changed event), the application crashes. I am not sure why this could be happening. Can someone shed some light and propose a solution? TIA... Sudeep

  • How to change button background color depending on bound command canexecute ??

    - by LaurentH
    Hi, I Have a ItemTemplate in which is a simple button bound on a command, which can be executable or not depending on some property. I'd like the color of this button's background to change if the command isn't executable. I tried several methods, but I can't find anyway to do this purely in XAML (I'm doing this in a study context, and code behind isn't allowed). Here's my code for the button : <Button x:Name="Dispo" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Margin="0" VerticalAlignment="Center" Width="30" Height="30" Grid.Column="2" Grid.Row="0" Command="{Binding AddEmpruntCommandModel.Command}" CommandParameter="{Binding ElementName='flowCars', Path='SelectedItem'}" vm:CreateCommandBinding.Command="{Binding AddEmpruntCommandModel}" > <Button.Style> <Style TargetType="{x:Type Button}"> <Style.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Button.Background" Value="Green"/> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsEnabled" Value="False"> <Setter Property="Button.Background" Value="Red"/> </Trigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Button.Style> </Button>

Our asmx service looks like this: <bindings> <binding name="ATransactionSoap" closeTimeout="00:01:00" openTimeout="00:01:00" receiveTimeout="00:10:00" sendTimeout="00:01:00" allowCookies="false" bypassProxyOnLocal="false" hostNameComparisonMode="StrongWildcard" maxBufferSize="65536" maxBufferPoolSize="524288" maxReceivedMessageSize="65536" messageEncoding="Text" textEncoding="utf-8" transferMode="Buffered" useDefaultWebProxy="true"> <readerQuotas maxDepth="32" maxStringContentLength="8192" maxArrayLength="16384" maxBytesPerRead="4096" maxNameTableCharCount="16384" /> <security mode="None"> <transport clientCredentialType="None" proxyCredentialType="None" realm="" /> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" algorithmSuite="Default" /> </security> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <client> <endpoint address="http://.../atransaction.asmx" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="ATransactionSoap" contract="ATransactionSoap" name="ATransactionSoap" />

  • Bind to a property of a parent element in wpf

    - by msfanboy
    Hello all, I want to bind the Height property of the RichTextBox to the Height Property of the GridViews Row. How can I do that? I do not know how to get the Rows Height as I can not access the Row in xaml what I would like to do. <my:RadGridView Height="524" ItemsSource="{Binding Lessons}" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Name="dataGrid1" VerticalAlignment="Top" SelectionMode="Single" CanUserSortColumns="False" IsFilteringAllowed="False"> <my:RadGridView.Columns> <my:GridViewDataColumn Name="ContentColumn" Width="0.3*" Header="Content"> <my:GridViewDataColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <RichTextBox Height="{Binding ElementName=MyRowNameToBindTo,Path=Height}"> <FlowDocument> <Paragraph> <Run Text="{Binding Content}"/> </Paragraph> </FlowDocument> </RichTextBox> </DataTemplate> </my:GridViewDataColumn.CellTemplate> ...

  • amount of data returned by wcf 3.0 service contract method causes error

    CommuncationException was unhandled The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. here is my svc.map file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ServiceReference> <ProxyGenerationParameters ServiceReferenceUri="http://d3w9501/SimpleWCF/SimpleWCF.svc" Name="svc" NotifyPropertyChange="False" UseObservableCollection="False"> </ProxyGenerationParameters> <EndPoints> <EndPoint Address="http://d3w9501.americas.hpqcorp.net/SimpleWCF/SimpleWCF.svc" BindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_ISimpleWCF" Contract="TestSimpleWCF.svc.ISimpleWCF" > </EndPoint> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_ISimpleWCF" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647" > <security mode="None" /> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> </EndPoints> </ServiceReference>

  • Problem adding a behaviors element to my WCF client config

    - by SteveChadbourne
    I'm trying to add a behaviors element to my client config file so I can specify maxItemsInObjectGraph. The error I get is: The element 'system.serviceModel' has invalid child element 'behaviors'. List of possible elements expected: 'bindings, client, extensions'. Here is my config: <configuration> <system.serviceModel> <bindings> <basicHttpBinding> <binding name="BasicHttpBinding_KernService" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647"> <security mode="None" /> </binding> </basicHttpBinding> </bindings> <behaviors> <endpointBehaviors> <behavior name="ServiceViewEventBehavior"> <dataContractSerializer maxItemsInObjectGraph="2147483647"/> </behavior> </endpointBehaviors> </behaviors> <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost/KernMobile.WCF/KernService.svc" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="BasicHttpBinding_KernService" contract="KernWcfService.KernService" name="BasicHttpBinding_KernService" behaviorConfiguration="ServiceViewEventBehavior" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> </configuration> It's also complaining about the behaviorConfiguration attribute in the endpoint element. Any ideas? .Net 4.0 BTW.

  • Change Address/Port of WSDL EndPointAddress at runtime?

    - by Pretzel
So I currently have 3 WSDLs added as Service References in my solution. They look like this in my app.config file (I removed the "bindings" field, because it's uninteresting): <system.serviceModel> <client> <endpoint address="http://localhost:8080/query-service/jse" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="QueryBinding" contract="QueryService.Query" name="QueryPort" /> <endpoint address="http://localhost:8080/platetype-service/jse" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="PlateTypeBinding" contract="PlateTypeService.PlateType" name="PlateTypePort" /> <endpoint address="http://localhost:8080/dataimport-service/jse" binding="basicHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="DataImportBinding" contract="DataImportService.DataImport" name="DataImportPort" /> </client> </system.serviceModel> When I utilize a WSDL, it looks something like this: using (DataService.DataClient dClient = new DataService.DataClient()) { DataService.importTask impt = new DataService.importTask(); impt.String_1 = "someData"; DataService.importResponse imptr = dClient.importTask(impt); } In the "using" statement, when instantiating the DataClient object, I have 5 constructors available to me. In this scenario, I use the default constructor: new DataService.DataClient() which uses the built-in Endpoint Address string, which is fine and good. But I want the user of the application to have the option to change this value. 1) What's the best/easiest way of programatically obtaining this string? 2) Then, once I've allowed the user to edit and test the value, where should I store it? I'd prefer having it be stored in a place (like app.config or equivalent) so that there is no need for checking whether the value exists or not and whether I should be using an alternate constructor. (Looking to keep my code tight, ya know?) Any ideas? Suggestions?
