• What did Emolator do with My Laptop?

  I played SEGA with my KEGA.exe (Sega Emulator) and it made my right key to be malfunctioned. Befor that day, I had played it, too in my notebook with fullscreen mode, and suddenly my ACER Aspire One notebook restarted during that emulator was running and before the screen was black (boot), my screen was blue with many words but I couldn't read them, but I remember that there was a word like 000000 x 0000000 x 000000 and bla bla bla. And when I played without fullscreen mode, It didn't happened but it made my right key to be malfunctioned until when I went to Bot setup, my right key doesn't work. Do U know what is the problem of my emulator? Can U explain me for that?

• tmux: unbind C-[ as a prefix

  I have a fairly straight forward .tmux.conf file which does nothing more but to define a couple of options, such as history-limit. I have not added any custom key bindings yet. I find it extremely annoying that I cannot unbind C-[ as a prefix in tmux. Here is what I mean: $ uname -a Linux stan-inspiron 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ tmux [0] 0:~* "stan-inspiron" 10:05 12-Jun-12 % vim Whilst inside vim, when I go to insert mode and then use C-[0 to escape insert mode and move to the first character on the line, tmux grabs the key first and complains: Window not found: :0 ** I tried all sorts of things in my .tmux.conf, but nothing works. I thought it might be a terminal or shell issue, but confirmed same behaviour on a configless machine using Bash and [Gnome] Terminal. So the question really is, how do I unbind the C-[ key from tmux? ** I have base-index 1 set.

• VirtualBox Port Fowarding to Connect to PostgreSQL Database

  I'm trying to connect to a PostgreSQL database hosted on a Win7 guest from a Win7 host. I've configured security in pg_hba.conf host all all 127.0.0.1/32 md5 host all all 10.0.2.15/32 md5 host all all 192.168.1.6/32 md5 and set the listen_addresses setting in postgresql.conf to '*'. I think I've set up port forwarding correctly as I see: Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/e1000/0/LUN#0/Config/win7_vm1/GuestPort, Value: 5432 Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/e1000/0/LUN#0/Config/win7_vm1/HostPort, Value: 5432 Key: VBoxInternal/Devices/e1000/0/LUN#0/Config/win7_vm1/Protocol, Value: TCP when I call getextradata. This is similar to http://serverfault.com/questions/106168/cant-connect-to-postgresql-on-virtualbox-guest but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. In the vbox.log file I see: 00:00:01.019 NAT: set redirect TCP host port 5432 = guest port 5432 @ 10.0.2.15 00:00:01.033 NAT: failed to redirect TCP 5432 = 5432 but I'm not sure how to fix that. • openssl creates invalid signature if run by a different user

  Very strange problem here: openssl successfully creates signatures but only those created as root are valid whereas created by another user (www-data) are invalid! • Slap the App on the VM for every private cloud solution! Really ?

  One of the key attractions of the general session "Managing Enterprise Private Cloud" at Oracle OpenWorld 2012 was an interactive role play depicting how to address some of the key challenges of planning, deploying and managing an enterprise private cloud. • Can I automatically add a new host to known_hosts ?

  Here's my situation; I'm setting up a test harness that will, from a central client, launch a number of virtual machine instances and then execute commands on them via SSH. The virtual machines will have previously unused hostnames and IP addresses, so they won't be in the ~/.ssh/known_hosts file on the central client. The problem I'm having is that the first SSH command run against a new virtual instance always comes up with an interactive prompt: The authenticity of host '[hostname] ([IP address])' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is [key fingerprint]. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? Is there a way that I can bypass this and get the new host to be already known to the client machine, maybe by using a public key that's already baked into the virtual machine image ? I'd really like to avoid having to use Expect or whatever to answer the interactive prompt if I can.

  This is a conglomeration question when answering please specify which part you are addressing. I am looking at creating a maze type game that utilizes elevation. I have a few features I would like to have, but am unsure as to some of the implementation. I have done work doing fileIO maze generation (using a key to read the file, and then generate the level based on that file), but I am unsure how to think about this with elevation in the mix. I think height maps might be a good approach, but don't know how to represent them effectively. for a height map which is more beneficial XML(containing h[u,v] data and key definition), CSV (item1 is key reference, item2 is elevation), or another approach that I have not thought of yet? When it comes to placing the elevation values themselves what kind of deltah values are appropriate to have it noticeable at about a 60degree angle while not really effecting gravity driven physics (assuming some effect while moving up/down hill)? I am thinking of maybe going to procedural generation at some point, but am wondering if it is practical to have a procedurally generated grid (wall squares possibly same dimensions as the open space squares), or if designing to a thin wall open spaces is better? this decision will effect the amount of work need on the graphics end for uniform vs. irregular walls. EDIT: game will be a elevation maze shooter. levels/maps will be mazes with elevation the player has to negotiate. elevations will have effects on "combat" vision, and movement

• Can you change a license once you pick one?

  I am working on a product that I don't feel is completely ready but I have a set of users that are very interested in using it now as "alpha" testers. I would like to give them the product now for free as "alpha" testers, but I would like to later license the software. Is this possible? Can anyone point me to any links/books/articles/etc? Thanks. EDIT: Due to the lack of my clarity and the reponses to the question I thought I should add this statement. I haven't decided if I am going to close-source or open-source this project yet. The user base that wants to get their hands on it now has kind of surprised me and I was concerned about what my options are as far as being able to give it to them now as open-source and later change to closed-source, or even vice versa. • Web App vs Portal Platform - convincing the customer

  We're evaluating a set of requirements for a customer who wants Liferay which mainly has AAA and Web CMS requirements, and allowing user to upload their own content. Also all inetgration is via web services. However there is no need for other features such as actual "portlets", i18n, mashups, skins, themes, tagging, social presence, no collaboration etc So we feel we can do this as a standard JEE web app and not use Liferay (or any other portal product) since these are overheads we dont need. The customer feels the Web CMS requirements + user upload justify the "portal" product. Can anyone help me with some points to convince the customer? Assuming our point of view is right.

• Disaster Recovery Example

  Previously, I use to work for a small internet company that sells dental plans online. Our primary focus concerning disaster prevention and recovery is on our corporate website and private intranet site. We had a multiphase disaster recovery plan that includes data redundancy, load balancing, and off-site monitoring. Data redundancy is a key aspect of our disaster recovery plan. The first phase of this is to replicate our data to multiple database servers and schedule daily backups of the databases that are stored off site. The next phase is the file replication of data amongst our web servers that are also backed up daily by our collocation. In addition to the files located on the server, files are also stored locally on development machines, and again backed up using version control software. Load balancing is another key aspect of our disaster recovery plan. Load balancing offers many benefits for our system, better performance, load distribution and increased availability. With our servers behind a load balancer our system has the ability to accept multiple requests simultaneously because the load is split between multiple servers. Plus if one server is slow or experiencing a failure the traffic is diverted amongst the other servers connected to the load balancer allowing the server to get back online. The final key to our disaster recovery plan is off-site monitoring that notifies all IT staff of any outages or errors on the main website encountered by the monitor. Messages are sent by email, voicemail, and SMS. According to Disasterrecovery.org, disaster recovery planning is the way companies successfully manage crises with minimal cost and effort and maximum speed compared to others that are forced to make decision out of desperation when disasters occur. In addition Sun Guard stated in 2009 that the first step in disaster recovery planning is to analyze company risks and factor in fixed costs for things like hardware, software, staffing and utilities, as well as indirect costs, such as floor space, power protection, physical and information security, and management. Also availability requirements need to be determined per application and system as well as the strategies for recovery.

• Stop animation playing automatically

  I've created an animation to animate a swinging mace. To do this I select the mace object in the scene pane, open the animation pane, and key it at a certain position at 0:00. I'm prompted to save this animation in my assets folder, which I do, as maceswing I then rotate the mace, move the slider through time and key it in a different position. I move the slider through time again, move the object to the original position and key it. There are now three things in my assets folder: maceswing appears to be my animation, but I have no idea what Mace Mace 1 and Mace 2 are. (I've been mucking around trying to get this working so it's possible Mace 1 and Mace 2 are just duplicates of Mace. I still want to know what they are though) When I play my game, the mace is constantly swinging, even though I didn't apply maceswing to it. I can't stop it. People say there's some kind of tick box to stop it constantly animating but I can't find it. My mace object only has an Animator component: Unticking this component doesn't stop the animation playing so I have no idea where the animation is coming from. Or what the Animator component actually does. I don't want this animation constantly playing. I only want it to play once when someone clicks a certain button: var Mace : Transform; if(Input.GetButtonDown('Fire1')){ Mace.animation.Play('maceswing'); }; Upon clicking the 'Fire1' button, I get this error: MissingComponentException: There is no 'Animation' attached to the "Mace" game object, but a script is trying to access it. You probably need to add a Animation to the game object "Mace". Or your script needs to check if the component is attached before using it. There is no 'Animation' attached to the "Mace" game object, and yet I can see it swinging away constantly. Infact I can't stop it! So what's causing the animation if the game object doesn't have an 'Animation' attached to it?
