  • Is there a way to remove duplicate emails from a remote account?

    I have a user who has multiple duplicated emails across multiple folders on his IMAP account. How he managed to create them is beyond me, but mine is not to reason why, just to fix it! Can anyone recommend an application that I may use to remove the duplicates. (we're talking mailboxes in excess of 9G, and it's a remote server) I don't mind what OS I have to use to clean up the mailbox, I'm just looking for some recommendations. Thanks

    These details don't matter but I am on a Ubuntu 12.04 machine and I want to ssh into my RaspberryPi without a password. I followed the standard procedure for setting up ssh without a password: local $ ssh-keygen -t rsa (hit enter for defaults to the questions) local $ scp ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub matt@raspihost:~/.ssh/authorized_keys I logged onto the raspihost and checked all my permissions on ~/.ssh/ and on the authorized_keys file itself. It was still not working!

Here is a summary of what I am trying to accomplish. Server Details: Ubuntu 12.04 Hosted by RackSpace (no physical access) Need to run Gnome3 VNC connection must be over SSH Any guides or assistance would be great, I have installed Gnome3 and Vino for the VNC-server.     Apache is receiving requests at port :80 and proxying them to Jetty at port :8080 The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server The proxy server could not handle the request GET /. My dilemma: Everything works fine normally (fast requests, few seconds or few tens of seconds long requests are processed ok). Problems occur when request processing takes long (few minutes?). If I issue request instead directly to Jetty at port :8080 the request is processed OK. So problem is likely to sit somewhere between Apache and Jetty where I am using mod_proxy. How to solve this? I have already tried some "tricks" related to KeepAlive settings, without luck. AngularJS is in fact served by ConnectJS, which is proxied to by Nginx (ConnectJS listens only on localhost). In Firefox console I get this: Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://ankieta.example.com/admin/remotecontrol. This can be fixed by moving the resource to the same domain or enabling CORS. which of course is annoying. Other browsers work fine (Chrome, IE). Any suggestions on this?

  • How to leave the teamviewer window with Alt+Tab

    I use Teamviewer on Ubuntu (Not sure if the problem is the same on Windows). Whenever I use Alt+TAB to change the focussed window on my computer to another window while the remote window has focus the remote window catches the Alt keydown event but not the Alt release event! So when I get back to the remote Teamviewer window the remote computer still has the Alt Key stuck pressed. How can I prevent that the Alt-key gets stuck on the remote computer?

  • Run a local script on a remote server using ssh with out having to worry about quotes

    So I have been running local scripts fine on a remote server: ssh user@server '`cat local-script.sh`' However, today I have a script that has both single and double quotes in it. Which causes the script to fail because the output of cat local-script.sh is wrapped in quotes. With out modifying the script itself, is there a better way to handle this? I thought this may work: ssh user@server $(<local-script.sh) But is does not seem to do anything...

  • Why isn't the backup file created when running sqlcmd from remote machine?

    I tried running the sqlcmd from a remote host to do a simple backup of a sql 2008 database. The command goes something like this: sqlcmd -s xxx.xxx.xxx.xx -U username -P some_password -Q "Backup database [db] to \ disk = 'c:\test_backup.bak' with format" I get a succesfull message but the file isn't created. When I run this on the sql manager on the same machine, it works. I thought it was permission problems, but I'm using the same username in both cases. Any thoughts?

  • Finding Buried Controls

    This post is pretty specific to an issue I had but still has some ideas that could be applied in other scenarios. The problem I had was updating a few buttons so their Text values could be set in the code behind which had a method to grab the proper value from an external source. This was so that if the application needed to be installed by a customer using a language other than English or needed a different notation for the button's Text they could simply update the database. Most of the time this was no big deal. However I had one instance where the button was part of a control, the button had no set ID and that control was only found in a dll. So there was no markup to edit for the Button. Also updating the dll was not an option so I had to make the best of what I had to work with. In the cs file for the aspx file with the control on it I added the Page_LoadComplete. The problem button was within a GridView so I added a foreach to go through each GridViewRow and find the button I needed. Since I did not have an ID to work with besides a random ctl00$main$DllControl$gvStuff$ctl03$ctl05 using the GridView's FindControl was out. I ended up looping through each GridViewRow, then if a RowState equaled Edit loop through the Cells, each control in the Cell and check each control to see if it held a Panel that contained the button.   • How do I access my remote Ubuntu server via X-windows from my Mac?

    I have an Ubuntu server (12.04 LTS) running remotely on a cloud hosting service. I have installed ubuntu-desktop via apt-get: $ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop It appears to have installed no problem. I have confirmed that /etc/ssh/ssh_config on the server contains the lines ForwardAgent yes ForwardX11 yes ForwardX11Trusted yes and that /etc/ssh/sshd_config on the server contains the line: X11Forwarding yes I then rebooted the server. It came back up no problem. Now, starting X11.app on my Mac I am presented with an Xterm. I connect to my server from this terminal using: $ ssh -X <myhost> and I connect to the server, no problem. At this point I don't know what to do. I have tried $ sudo startx but I get a "no screens found" error. I don't have screens because its a headless cloud server, but I just want to acces it from my Mac through X. What now?

  • Is Version control with GIT useful to work in small projects fon an individual developer? [closed]

    I work as website developer. I develop with Drupal CSM. I have a drupal base installation which has some settings which are sort of default for all my proyects. This drupal installation is my drupal-base folder Every time I start a new project I just duplicate the `drupal-base- folder and start coding the new features I need for the new proyect. The problem is that sometimes I work in more than one projects at the same time and I get a new feature in one of the project that I'd like to commit to my drupal base installation and also to the other projects. Then keeping the sync of all this is nightmare. I thought that Version Control with GIT could help me with this and I went into a tutorial about it. But now I'm not sure if this will be usefull for me. Then my question is: I think that GIT is just usefull for big projects where a team is working all together in the same files. But it is not usefull to work in small and individual projects. Am I right?

The problem is that both mta handle the same virtual domains so virtual_alias_maps, bcc or anything other address/domain related will not work. If this setup is not possible with postfix, is there another mta (maybe exim?) that is capable of doing this?

  • What would prevent the same ActiveX control from downloading on one internal website but not another?

    We have two internal webservers for an application at my company, one is the development server and the other is production. This application server will deploy and install and ActiveX control to allow the use of specific functionality. The ActiveX control is the exact same on both servers. Last week suddenly when trying to install and run this ActiveX control from the development server stopped working. IE will still prompt the user to install it, but when select "Install this Add-on for all users on this computer", nothing happens. Another IE window pops open and immediately closes and that is it. It is almost as if a pop-up blocker is running (but it is not enabled). The kicker which has me completely stumped is that if we try the same thing on the Production server, everything works as we would expect. Items of interest: Both servers are in the 'Trusted Sites' No pop-up blocker in IE is activated ActiveX controls for Trusted and Intranet Sites are all enabled. Has anyone experienced something similar? I'm not a Windows administrator so please feel free to explain things as elementary as you see fit.
