  ASP.NET MVC 3 can be installed side by side with ASP.NET MVC 2 on the same computer, which gives you flexibility in choosing when to upgrade an ASP.NET MVC 2 application to ASP.NET MVC 3. The simplest way to upgrade is to create a new ASP.NET MVC 3 project and copy all the views, controllers, code, and content files from the existing MVC 2 project to the new project and then to update the assembly references in the new project to match the old project. If you have made changes to the Web.config file in the MVC 2 project, you must also merge those changes with the Web.config file in the MVC 3 project. To manually upgrade an existing ASP.NET MVC 2 application to version 3, do the following: 1. In both Web.config files in the MVC 3 project, globally search and replace the MVC version. Find the following: System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0 Replace it with the following System.Web.Mvc, Version=3.0.0.0 There are three changes in the root Web.config and four in the Views\Web.config file. 2. In Solution Explorer, delete the reference to System.Web.Mvc (which points to the version 2 DLL). Then add a reference to System.Web.Mvc (v3.0.0.0). 3. In Solution Explorer, right-click the project name and then select Unload Project. Then right-click again and select Edit ProjectName.csproj. 4. Locate the ProjectTypeGuids element and replace {F85E285D-A4E0-4152-9332-AB1D724D3325} with {E53F8FEA-EAE0-44A6-8774-FFD645390401}. 5. Save the changes and then right-click the project and select Reload Project. 6. • OSX 10.6 Cisco IPSEC strange behavior

  I'm trying to connect to Cisco IPSEC VPN of my company over DSL Internet. I managed to successfully connect using Cisco VPN Client, now I'm trying to switch to OSX 10.6 native client, because of licensing issues. The problems is that the connection fails with a dialog box containing the message: The negotiation with the VPN server failed. Verify the server address and try reconnecting. • Ubuntu 10.04 not detecting multiple monitors

  I have 2 graphics cards, the output from the lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV710 [Radeon HD 4350] I have one monitor connected to the 4850 and 2 connected to the 4350. However when I go into System Preferences Monitors the only monitor shown is the one connected to the 4850. Is there something I need to enable for it to be able to use the other card? How do I get this to work. Thanks.   I have a web server running on a EC2 c1.medium intance. The instance is running on ubuntu, with apache2 and mysql.The ubuntu and apache version are the next; Ubuntu DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=11.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=natty DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 11.04" Apache2 Server version: Apache/2.2.17 (Ubuntu) Server built: Feb 22 2011 18:33:02 Sometimes randomly, my server "hangs up", I cannot connect to it using normal web access or ssh access. If I reboot the instance it reboots fine, the amazon system log doesn't show anything weird, but the problem persists The only way to solve it its stopping the instance, and start it again.   I'm attempting to add some of our LDAP users to a locally defined group on our RHEL server, however I get an error stating that the LDAP user is not found in /etc/passwd. What would be the best way to allow LDAP users to be added to local groups? My feeling is that this must be done manually. I could edit: /etc/group and add the LDAP group to the list. Would that be ideal? • juju bootstrap key error?

  I followed the guides the best as i could. there is some information missing like do as root or as regular user ..formatting, quotes no quotes..what the password or paraphrase for ssh should be ..couple other trivial things. that im sure add up to where im at (stuck!) so i have a working mass server on mx-nas-01 and 3 nodes and have been trying to get juju to start.   Google's PageSpeed plugin suggests that a website should include Last-Modified and ETag headers: Specify a cache validator "Resources that do not specify a cache validator cannot be refreshed efficiently. Specify a Last-Modified or ETag header to enable cache validation" However, Apache suggests that by not including them at all, we speed up websites by eliminating If-Modified-Since and If-None-Match requests: http://www.askapache.com/htaccess/apache-speed-last-modified.html these are in direct opposition - which should be implemented? I'm leaning towards Apache's suggestion, as when I want a file cached, I don't want it refreshed.

  There are a number of reasons why you may want to change the folder that you store the TFS Cache. It can take up “some” amount of room so moving it to another drive can be beneficial. This is the source control Cache that TFS uses to cache data from the database. Moving the Cache is pretty easy and should allow you to organise your server space a little more efficiently. You may also get a performance improvement (although small) by putting it on another drive..   In my configuration i used Apche+mod_cluster as a front_end(load balancer) server and two JBOSS AS 7.1.0 as backend server. In my configuration on one system i have install Apache+mod_cluster + JBOSS AS 7.1.0 and on other system JBOSS AS 7.1.0. Both JBOSS AS 7.1.0 are in domain mode means in clustering. My problem is that if Apche+mod_cluster crash than client can not access any JBOSS AS . I want to configure Apache+mod_cluster in Master_Slave format, means if one of Apache+mod_cluter down another Apache+mod_cluster become active and pass client(browser) request to back-end server in normal form without any interruption. Is there any way to make two Apache+mod_cluster to communicate with each other , means to check health status of each other and if any one get down other Apche+mod_cluster will do it's task ......

• Package management system corrupted. Cannot install or remove packages. U12.04LTS

  Having read other posts, I believe that this may be less about samba than about update system. Below is the log file of the failed installation of Samba. I have been trying without success to install/outstall samba so that I could install anything else ... I cannot either install or remove samba using either update-manager or apt-get (nor indeed Software Centre). One of the errors that I have had to correct is the presence after "removal" (failed) of /usr/share/system-config-samba directory which finally allowed itself to be deleted. That, however was then ... I have U12.04LTS. running on release 63 because I allowed the upgrade to 64 this morning which fell over - no output to monitor - obviously even less support for my graphic chip than I am suffering already (see other posts in this forum). According to my interpretation of the dpkg returned errors there may be some problem with the package files, but if this is the case then it is on servers 'main', 'nantes uni fr' and 'best fr' at the very least if not everywhere. The suggestions offered at Package operation failed and elsewhere have not worked for me. This linked post suggests that a similar error is present in other packages, or that the error is in the 'update system' I have tried ... sudo apt-get remove samba ... autoremove ... install samba ... clean ... update -f all of the above In update-manager I have tried the "reload packages list" which fails to terminate because of the error. I have tried to install and remove samba from the software centre ... :( I am at a loss ... I need help, please! Firstly to recover my apt-get/update-manager/Software Centre so that I can at least carry on with my continuing installation - up to communicating with home network hence need for samba - which brings me to my second requirement ... samba. PS is the issue about "MaxReports" associated or apart? UPDATE! Being heartily sick of restarting FF every 5 seconds I thought I'd try again with Chromium ... and got the same errors from dpkg about corrupt compressed package - coincidence? Of course this was no longer in clipboard when I got here because apport has just errored ... AAARRRGGGH!!! Why does every error clear the clipboard?   I am running vsftpd with Virtual Users (managed through a MySQL db). Each users home/default directory is owned by vsftpd:vsftpd. I need to give a user read/write permissions to some website files, owned by apache:apache so they can make some changes. I did a bind mount for the web directory to a directory in the ftp user's home/default directory. When logging in, the user is not able to write to the web folder, unless I set files to 777. Is it possible to set this up with making the directory and it's files 777? The web directory needs to be apache:apache in order for apache to work with it.

• MapReduce job is hung after 1 of 5 reducers completed on single-node environment

  I have only one Data Node on my dev environment on EC2. I ran heavy MR job and in 6 hours noticed that 100% of mappers and 20% of reducers finished (1 of reducer shows 100% competition, other ones - 0%). Looks like job is hung between 2 reducer runs. I don't see any errors in log files. What it can be? P.S. • LXC Container Networking

  I just started to experiment with LXC containers. I was able to create a container and start it up but I cannot get dhcp to assign the container an IP address. If I assign a static address the container can ping the host IP but not outside the host IP. The host is CentOS 6.5 and the guest is Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I used the template downloaded by lxc-create -t download -n cn-01 command. If I am trying to get an IP address on the same subnet as the host I don't believe I should need the IP tables rule for masquerading but I added it anyways. Same with IP forwarding. • Is Tomcat Shared Session / Cluster between two machine possible?

  I have a setup of several Tomcat servers distributed between a few servers, all running the same thing. Apache is on top of Apache and a loadbalancer in front of the Apache servers. I want to cluster the Tomcats using Shared Session to minimize downtime and user interruption while deploying apps. I know clustering works within the same server but is it possible to setup Tomcat in a way that it shares sessions between servers on different machines? = Server 1 == Apache 1 === Tomcat 1 = Server 2 == Apache 2 === Tomcat 2 When Server/Tomcat 1 would be taken down, users and their sessions would transfer over to Server/Tomcat 2 and vice versa.

• mod_proxy failing as forward proxy in simple configuration

  (On Mac OS X 10.6, Apache 2.2.11) Following the oft-repeated googled advice, I've set up mod_proxy on my Mac to act as a forward proxy for http requests. My httpd.conf contains this: <IfModule mod_proxy> ProxyRequests On ProxyVia On <Proxy *> Allow from all </Proxy> (Yes, I realize that's not ideal, but I'm behind a firewall trying to figure out why the thing doesn't work at all) So, when I point my browser's proxy settings to the local server (ip_address:80), here's what happens: I browse to http://www.cnn.com I see via sniffer that this is sent to Apache on the Mac Apache responds with its default home page ("It works!" is all this page says) So... Apache is not doing as expected -- it is not forwarding my browser's request out onto the Internet to cnn. Nothing in the logfile indicates an error or problem, and Apache returns a 200 header to the browser. Clearly there is some very basic configuration step I'm not understanding... but what?

  I've written an extension to RequestTracker for a client, but he says the performance isn't good enough. I'd like to do some profiling, but I'm not sure how to connect up a profiler (say NYTProf, for example)? I tried what the man page says and put PerlModule Devel::NYTProf::Apache in my apache config, but all I get in the results are Apache2:XSLoader, Devel::NYTProf::Apache and ModPerl::Util modules in the results, and neither my own nor RT's modules.
