  • Regex pattern for searches with include and exclude

    I am working on a Regex pattern for searches that should allow optional '+' sign to include in the search and '-' sign to exclude from the search. For example: +apple orange -peach should search for apples and oranges and not for peaches. Also the pattern should allow for phrases in double quotes mixed with single words, for example: "red apple" -"black grape" +orange - you get the idea, same as most of the internet searches. So I am running 2 regular expressions, first to pick all the negatives, which is simple because '-' is required: (?<=[\-]"?)((?<=")(?<exclude>[^"]+)|(?<exclude>[^\s,\+\-"]+)) And second to pick positives, and it is a little more complex because '+' is optional: ((?<=[\+\s]")(?<include>[^\s"\+\-][^"]+))|(?<include>(?<![\-\w]"?)([\w][^,\s\-\+]+))(?<!") Positive search is where I am having a problem, it works fine when I run it in RegexBuddy but when I try in .Net the pattern picks up second word from negative criteria, for example in -"black grape" it picks up word 'grape' even though it ends with double quote. Any suggestions?

  • Can't install Ubuntu on a HP DV6 Laptop

    I just bought a HP DV6 6011tx (link) Laptop. I formated the disk through Windows and prepared for installing Ubuntu. But when I inserted the live CD, it showed the Ubuntu start screen and then everything went black. There was no cursor, everything just stayed black like the screen was switched off (but the system is running). When I tried to install from the USB, it said Live media is not found. Sometimes it also gave me a black screen like the CD. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

    I am learning Ruby on Rails. I made a simple link like this: <%= link_to "Alex Link", alexes_path(@alex) %> then I routed it in routes.rb like this: resources :alexes get "home/index" then I am a bit unclear, but I think it goes to this part of the controller: def index #@alexes = Alex.all respond_to do |format| format.html # index.html.erb format.json { render json: @alexes } end end Am I correct that it goes to this part of the controller? Then nothing much happens and it goes to the next page which is index.html.rb under views\alexes So what I am wondering is - if I needed to do some business logic, would I write that in the controller snippet? Where inside the snippet? An example would be nice to take a look. Also, I would like to connect to a MongoDb database. Would I also write that in the middle of the controller? Thanks!

  • HTML5 Canvas compositing question (source-in)

    I am trying to recreate a page flipping type animation in HTML5 using canvas. The animation is based on ideas from here: hxxp://oreilly.com/javascript/archive/flashhacks.html but thats not really important. The problem I am having is that using the 'source-in' composite operation is not giving me the results I expect and would like clarification as to why. Here is the example: (i think it can only be viewed in chrome, not working in FF 3.6) http://acpound.fylez.com/test/example.html The black rectangle is supposed to act as a 'mask' for the page being turned over. All I want to see is the turning page in the areas where it overlaps the mask. The problem is the entire black rectangle is drawn, not just the area where they overlap. The source is all on the page. I know HTML5 isn't really being used yet, I'm just experimenting for my personal site and curiosity. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Dell Inspiron 1210 mini Blank Screen on boot 12.04 If I mash buttons I get to a gray screen then the login screen and into the desktop but normally I turn on the laptop and I see a black screen with a cursor then a purple screen then it just goes black. I can hit ctrl alt F1 or F2 and get a prompt. I've tried using the poulsbo ppa driver script fix but that doesn't work. I don't knwo what to do now. I have the OS installed and when I did get into the OS by mashing buttons I installed updates and wireless adapter drivers. It works but if I reboot I jsut get to the black screen and have no idea what to do. What needs to be done so that I can just boot up and see the login screen!?

    Hi, Im having a problem connecting all of this. Im new to Ldap and after failing to install all of this on Ubuntu 10.04 Im trying to set it up on my local PC. I installed OpenLdap for windows http://www.userbooster.de/en/download/openldap-for-windows.aspx, Enabled the php5.3.1 extension for ldap (c:\xampp\php\ext\php_ldap.dll) in php.ini Copied the ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll to Windows\System32 & Windows\System (Windows XP) Set the password generated by c:\Program Files\OpenLDAP\slappasswd.exe in c:\Program Files\OpenLDAP\slapd.conf (rootpw {SSHA}hash) run the c:\Program Files\OpenLDAP\slapd.exe Install phpldapadmin and call https:// 127.0.0.1 / phpldapadmin/ when I enter the credentials i get Invalid credentials (49) for user and in openldap.log i get could not stat config file "%SYSCONFDIR%\slapd.conf": No such file or directory (2) Can someone help.

    today i tried to install win7 from an external hdd to my system. i tried this tut http://www.pcworld.com/article/165159/install_windows_7_from_an_external_hard_drive.html and everything went fine till i pluged off the external hdd. after i pluged it off and tried to restart the system i get a missing boot manager error. if i plug the external hdd in again it's all working fine again. i've searched for the last 2h and didn't find a good answer. did any of you have one ? regards Alex ps: i already tried any forms of reperation and the system is installed on the correct hdd.

  • Coda 2 and SCP uploading files with the wrong permission

    Currently I have a basic Ubuntu server running a website. The website is for a few students learning HTML/PHP and each student has their own account with a symbolic link to the shared website folder. Since the students are working on the website together, each user needs to be able to modify all the files (index.html for example). So I created a Webdev group containing all of the students with the default umask of 0002 set in their .bashrc (This allows newly created files to be 774). The shared folder is owned by the group Webdev with a chmod g+s so that new files/folders also belong to the group Webdev. The problem is that the students are using an IDE (Coda 2) and when they create a new file or folder using the IDE the file has the permissions of 644 on the server (not group writable). However when I make a new file through connecting with Cyberduck (SFTP client) the file permissions are 664 (as they should be). So I don't understand why Coda would be any different. However, after some trial and error I believe that Coda is first creating the file on local disk and then uploading that file to the server. On a mac by default a newly created file is 644. When the client uploads a file that's already 644 it stays 644 on the server side (umask is kind of useless in this situation). I've also tried creating ACL permissions for that folder but an uploaded file from my mac via SCP doesn't get the default ACL permissions. In Coda there is an option to change file permissions on a transfer. However this option seems to apply a chmod to all files being uploaded or saved. When one of students is modifying a file created by someone else when they try to upload the file or save it Coda tries to also do a chmod but fails because that user isn't the owner of the file. My current solution is using bindfs... I mount the shared web folder and bindfs sets permissions and group ownership of newly created files. However, bindfs seems to be a bit slow and I'm sure there is a better solution. Even if the students ditched Coda 2 and used Mac vim with scp the newly created files on the server would behave the same (644) which is default on the mac. Other options... 1) Either I teach the students to use (ssh/chmod) with their IDE to change their own file permissions when uploading. 2) I make all the students' Macs have the default umask of 0002 which would upload files with the right permissions. 3) Write a corn script to fix the file permissions every 5 to 15 minutes... (This option I think is the worst if students are working together at the same time). Is there any way that I could make all files that are uploaded via SCP have the default file permissions of 664 even though the uploaded file has a lower permission? (After hours of searching I don't think this is possible) I guess a corn script is my best option for novice users.   • Can't connect to a machine via Cisco VPN on Mac

    Hi there, I have a curious problem. I can connect to work's vpn using Cisco VPN Client. I can get internet through that vpn. When I go check the IP online it tells me the IP address of the server I connected. However, when I try to ping one of the machines at work I get nothing. And traceroute says there is no route to the destination. But works for google. Any ideas? Is some traffic not sent through the VPN on mac Alex

  • Installing MySQL 5.5 manually on Ubuntu 10.04 server, errors about "/tmp/mysql.sock"

    I've set up an Ubuntu server and wanted to install MySQL 5.5. I've been following these MySQL documentation steps. I have libaio dev installed. Everything went fine until I ran bin/mysqld_safe --user=mysql & It runs into an issue and never returns to the shell. The output of mysqld_safe is logging to /usr/local/mysql/data/host_name.err. When I checked that file, it was complaining about /tmp/mysql.sock. I can unfortunately describe just parts of the error, since before I started right now it deleted all the files I've started installing back then by mistake. Should I change the socket to /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.socket after copying the .cnf file to /etc? I've also checked the /var/run/mysqld directory and there is no mysqld.socket. How do I proceed?   • Excel (.xls) files not opening in Excel when launched from Explorer

    I appear to have done something to Excel (2003) whereby whenever I double-click on an Excel file (.xls) in Windows Explorer, Excel launches OK, but the corresponding workbook doesn't open, and I'm left with an instance of Excel with no active workbook, i.e. a grey screen. It was fine earlier on, but now it's goosed. It's clearly not windows file associations, as Excel launches ok. It's a problem specific to Excel itself...   • Dell R910 with Integrated PERC H700 Adapter

    I am in the process of designing an architecture based around a single Dell R910 server running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. I would like the server to have 8 RAID1 pairs of spinning disks, so I intend to implement: Dell R910 Server Integrated PERC H700 Adapter with 1 SAS expander on each SAS connector (so 8 expanders in total) 7 RAID1 pairs of 143Gb 15K HDD, each paired on one connector using an expander 1 RAID1 pair of 600Gb 10K HDD, paired on the remaining connector using an expander My main concern is not to introduce bottlenecks in this architecture, and I have the following questions. Will the PERC H700 Adapter act as a bottleneck for disk access? Will using SAS expanders for each RAID1 pair cause a bottleneck or would this be as fast as pairing disks directly attached to the SAS connectors? Can I mix the disks, as long as the disks in each RAID1 pair are the same? I assume so. Can anyone recommend any single-to-double SAS Expanders that are known to function well with the H700?     I'm running Arch Linux. Recently, when I turn on my PC, the system time is set to 1:00 1 January 1970 - presumably the 1:00 o'clock is from the timezone shift. Does anyone have any ideas why systemd isn't setting my system time correctly? Some useful output (I think)...     Hi, I managed to setup a SVN (over SSL) server and TortoiseSVN client on Win. I made a Post-Commit Hook for test project. The Post-Commit will update the web dir so the App in PHP can be executed with the newest version. It all works when done over shell. The only problem is, when i commit the changes over the client in Win the change is commited but HOOK throws error post-commit hook failed (exit code 1) with output: Error validating server certificate for 'https://SERVER_IP:443': - The certificate is not issued by a trusted authority. In case of Internet Explorer, the popup dialog to enter the Username/password appears only once and the entered login credentials are reused for subsequent HTTP requests to the web server. However in case of Firefox, the Authentication popups appears whenever the request is made to the Web Server. The Web Server used is Emweb Server. So not to search LDAP server data, but to download contact that are not available in the client application (Outlook) and upload data to LDAP if the contact is in (Outlook) and not in LDAP database and the other way around, in other words synchronize.

    I have a folder where I store all my web icons in .png and .ico format. I set view to large icons and sort by to date modified -> descending. When I save new icons in this folder from web, I drag and drop them from browser (chrome) to the folder. The problem is after that the icons in the folder are not sorted by date modified descending any more... So how can I set any file or program or something that will set the sort by to date modified -> descending for that folder only each time I will access (open) the folder? I am using window 7 x64.

    Hi, I have a home networking question. I have two DLINK wireless/wired routers in my house, connected to the Internet ISP. There are a 2 computers on each of the two networks. Network1: has 192.168.0.0 (gateway) Valid IP'S range - 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.10, with COMP1 having a fixed IP of 162.168.0.1 Network2: has 192.168.0.100 (gateway) Valid IP'S range - 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.0.110 with COMP2 having a static IP of 162.168.0.101, a WIRELESS printer on 192.168.0.102 Both routers have a netmask of 255.255.255.0 My need is to connect the two routers, so that I can Remote desktop for COMP1 to COMP2 and viceversa, and COMP1 to connect to the wireless printer on Network2. can anyone help to set this up so that the both networks can talk to each other. By now, I have a shell script that starts an application in the foreground and waits for the termination of the application afterwards starts several applications (like browser, mailer, IRC client) in the background The script is working, however all the applications are getting the same icon and are treated like different windows of one application, i.e. the script. Is there a way to start applications from a script, that makes Unity display the icons of the applications, e.g. the Thunderbird icon, instead of a single default icon for the script?
