  • How to hide and disable cursor globally?

    I have two questions: How to hide cursor for all programs? I tried to hide the cursor by using ShowCursor, but it only works in my program. The cursor still appears when moving cursor outside of my program. How to disable mouse operations for all programs? I use SetWindowsHookEx to hook mouse and prevent other programs to processing the mouse operations. I can hook the clicks, but the problem is that I can't hook the "move". When I move the mouse to menu or system buttons ("minimize/restore/close"), they are highlighted. This means they can still "see" the mouse. Can anyone help me please?

  • How to check if aspect ratio auto adjustment is enabled in monitor

    Game application is written in C++ and uses DirectX 8. I am getting a maximum monitor resolution to calculate it's aspect ratio. Then I use this value to fix game rendering (scale and set clipping to receive normal 4:3 image with black borders on wide screen monitors). How can I check if monitor is using aspect ratio auto adjustment now? Because my scaling plus monitor scaling makes resulting image overscaled. Thanks EDIT: I saw correct different monitor resolution handling with or without aspect ratio auto adjustment in "Royal Envoy" casual game. But don't know how do they do this.

  • IE8 ignores absolute positioning and margin:auto

    I have a lightbox-style div with scrolling content that I am trying to restrict to a reasonable size within the viewport. I also want this div to be horizontally centered. This is all easy in Fx/Chrome/IE9. My problem is that IE8 ignores the absolute positioning which I use to size the content, and the rule margin: 0 auto which I use to horizontally center the lightbox. 1) Why? 2) What are my options for workarounds? EDIT: The centering issue is fixed by setting text-align:center on the parent element, but I have no idea why that works since the element I want to center is not inline. Still stuck on the absolute positioning stuff.     I am using code first approach in a ASP.NET MVC 3 application and all integer primary keys in models (public int Id { get; set; }) are by default configured as an identity with auto-incrementing. How to disable this and enable a way to manually enter the integer for the primary key? The actual situation is that the Id integers have a special meaning and I would therefore like to have them choosable at creation and later editable. It would be ideal if in case the integer is not given at creation time it is auto-incremented, else the specified value is used. But editable primary fields is my primary need. Is there any way to do this elegantly in ASP.NET MVC 3?

    For me, compact discs and these customized auto-start dialogs are somewhat outdated and waste... However, I have to create such a dialog as an index for a CD consisting of a few PDF files. Making one to work on Microsoft Windows is quite easy. As there might be users from different platforms (Unix, Apple,...), the question raises how to offer them such a (auto-starting) dialog as well. Java is of course an option, but I think it's overloaded and naturally too slow for this purpose. Now, I think of a single webpage that will appear in the local browser. Using all these web standards this could a very creative, light-weight approach working on most systems. Do you see any problems that might occur here? Probably, there is a different and more elegant solution to this issue?

    Hi all, I'm using jqTransform to make my forms look a bit prettier, however I'm using jquery to change the select list (depending on what's selected from another select list) and it just pulls in the regular form select list rather than the jqTransform styles.. I was wondering if there's a way of reinitializing it? I've tried adding: jQuery('#bookingForm').jqTransform({ imgPath: '/templates/home/images/jqtransform/' }); after the jquery inserts the new select box, but it doesnt seem to work.. I'm trying to do this because I couldnt figure out how to show/hide options in a select list using jquery.

    Hello, I have a UL and I'm working to dynamically add a new LI to the top of the UL with some animation. I have the following so far which works ok: $("#container").prepend('<li id="newhere"><input type="checkbox" /><span class="listTitle">Im new here</span><ul></ul></li>').hide().slideDown("slow"); #container is the UL The problem with the above is that is hides the entire UL and then slides the entire UL down and I just want the NEW LI that was prepended to animate. I'm trying to use Jquery so that when the mouse enters the parent DIV box, the child element is made visible, and then hides when the mouse leaves the parent DV. There will be multiple divs on the page with these classes. For some reason it's not working. Any ideas?     Hi all, question: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $(".module .caption").hide(); $(".module").hover(function() { $(this).find(".caption").slideDown(); },function() { $(this).find(".caption").slideUp(); }); }); </script> This snippet works great for my purposes, the only caveat is that I need the .module hover function to simultaneously add a class of "under" to all other ".caption"'s that are not $this, and then remove them when the hover ends. So basically I don't want the "module" that is hovered to get the class, I want it to do exactly what I am showing here...sliding .caption up and down on end hover, I just want all other ".caption"s to get the under class when any ".module" is hovered. Just hitting a dead end with what I have been trying, want to do it in the same function. Any ideas?

    howdy using vs2008 C# Does anyone know how change the directory location that auto recover files are saved to in visual studio sp1. The specific directory it should be on my C# drive in my documents is always empty even when the feature is turned on. There where some changes to our network env and it seems my auto recover files are now being mapped to network drive and i need to change it back. I cant find anything on how to do this on net searches if anyone can help please. thanks for any help
