Val* operator[](Key k); What happens when a user writes: Map<int,int> myMap; map[10] = 3; Doing something like that will only overwrite a temporary copy of the [null] pointer at Key k. Is it even possible to do: map[10] = 3; printf("%i\n", map[10]); with the same operator overload?

    If I have a hash map and iterate over the objects repeatedly, is it correct that I'm not guaranteed the same order for every call? For example, could the following print two lines that differ from each other: Map<String,Integer> map = new HashMap<String,Integer>() {{ put("a", 1); put("b", 2); put("c", 3); }}; System.out.println(map); System.out.println(map); And is this the case for sets and collections in general? If so, what's the best way in case you have to iterate twice over the same collection in the same order (regardless of what order that is)? I guess converting to a list.

    I have a big SVG file representing a complicated graph with hundreds of points. I want to represent this in a web page. My idea was that I could make it like Google Maps represent their maps, in those slippy, dragable, moveable maps. I'am looking for an easy and fast JavaScript library which could do the work. What I need for my "map" is the drag/move, zoom ability, and some way to click on the points of the picture, which makes a little information apear about that point, like Google maps markers. I'am looking for a free/open source library. I saw some solutions but I'am uncertain about them, and none of them seemed to be perfet: Polymaps - I love the technique it uses, but I don't know much about this library. Leaflet - I love the simplicity of it, but I dont know how could I apply it for my SVG. Raphael - I heard the awesomeness of this, but It seemed a lots of work to do this task. What would be the best/easiest solution for my problem, and what is your opinion aboute the above libraries?

    Hi all, I've an Enum class public enum MyEnum{ ABC; } than my 'Mick' class has this property private Map<MyEnum, OtherObj> myMap; I've this spring xml configuration. <util:map id="myMap"> <entry key="ABC" value-ref="myObj" /> </util:map> <bean id="mick" class="com.x.Mick"> <property name="myMap" ref="myMap" /> </bean> and this is fine. I'd like to replace this xml configuration with Spring annotations. Do you have any idea on how to autowire the map? The problem here is that if I switch from xml config to the @Autowired annotation (on the myMap attribute of the Mick class) Spring is throwing this exception nested exception is org.springframework.beans.FatalBeanException: Key type [class com.MyEnum] of map [java.util.Map] must be assignable to [java.lang.String] Spring is no more able to recognize the string ABC as a MyEnum.ABC object. Any idea? Thanks

    I send a query to an api and map the json results to my classes using Jackson. When I get some results it works fine, but when there are no results it fails with java.io.EOFException: No content to map to Object due to end of input at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper._initForReading(ObjectMapper.java:2766) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper._readMapAndClose(ObjectMapper.java:2709) at org.codehaus.jackson.map.ObjectMapper.readValue(ObjectMapper.java:1854) at com.jthink.discogs.query.DiscogsServerQuery.mapQuery(DiscogsServerQuery.java:382) at com.jthink.discogs.query.SearchQuery.mapQuery(SearchQuery.java:37)* But the thing is the api isn't returning nothing at all, so I dont see why it is failing.   • Render an SSRS report with a Map as an image map without actually having a ReportViewer on the page

    I have a report that has a Map with spatial data. Clicking an object on that map sends you to other pages on the site. I have tried a few different ways of displaying the report: If I put a ReportViewer on the actual page, the page sometimes takes 10+ seconds to load, but the report viewer creates a fully operable image map. If I create a ReportViewer in the code behind, I can use the Render method to to format the report as HTML4.0 and get the streamids from which I can extract the image (painfully). This is pretty fast (1-2 seconds), but only gives me an image, no image map. I can get a very similar functionality as the above example by using rendering extensions on the report URL to create an image and then set an image's source to this url. This is the fastest method, but still does not create an image map. So is there a way to create an image map from the report without having to use the ReportViewer? Or a way to substantially speed up the Report Viewer?

It dies with the following error using gcc 4.4.3: error: no matching function for call to std::map<int,std::vector<int,std::allocator<int> >,std::less<int>,std::allocator<std::pair<const int,std::vector<int,std::allocator<int> > > > >::map(<brace-enclosed initializer list>) Edit Following the suggestion by Cogwheel and adding the extra brace it now compiles with a warning that can be gotten rid of using the -fno-deduce-init-list flag. Is there any danger in doing so?

    I was wondering if it was possible to create a struct containing a number of variables and a map in a map. What I have at the moment: typedef std::map<std::string,double> lawVariables; struct ObjectCustomData { std::string objectType; bool global_lock; std::map<std::string, lawVariables> lawData; }; This struct is then passed on to another function as a single data block for that object. The structure setup is as follows: Each object has a data block that contains: its ObjectType, a bool for a lock, and a varying number of "laws" that could look like this: law1 -> var_a = 39.3; -> var_g = 8.1; law8 -> var_r = 83.1; -> var_y = 913.3; -> var_a = 9.81; Firstly, I'm unsure whether I should be using a Map within a Map and secondly even if this would be valid, I'm unsure how to fill it with data and how to recall it afterwards. I looked at maps because then I can search (on a name) if a certain object has a certain law, and if that law has certain variables. (sorry for the first messy post appearance, hope this is better :) )

    How do I load Levels in my game, as in Layer 1 would be Objects, Layer 2 would be Characters and so on. I only need 3 layers, and they will all be put on top of each other. i.e having a flower with a transparent background to be put on grass or dirt on the layer below.I would like to Read From the same file too. How would i go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated. I load the map from a level file which are just numbers corresponding to a tile in the tilesheet.     I am trying to install Snort 2.8.4.1 (only package available in the repos) with Barnyard2 with limited success. I've managed to fix everything but this: [lordquackstar@quackwall rules]$ sudo barnyard2 -c /etc/snort/barnyard2.conf -d /var/log/snort -f snort.u2 -w /etc/snort/barny Password: Running in Continuous mode --== Initializing Barnyard2 ==-- Initializing Input Plugins! Initializing Output Plugins! Parsing config file "/etc/snort/barnyard2.conf" ERROR: Unable to open Generator file "/etc/snort/gen-msg.map": No such file or directory ERROR: Stat check on log dir (/var/log/barnyard2) failed: No such file or directory. Fatal Error, Quitting.. The gen-msg.map error is puzzling me. The rulesets that come with the package do not contain this file. The newish rules I just downloaded from Snort.org for version 2.8.6.1 don't have this file. The only file that looks close is called sid-msg.map, but that's the wrong one. Where can I obtain this file? Just in case it matters: The packages come from the ClearOS repositories (OS is based off of CentOS). I'm running CentOS 5.2
