I'm well aware of cross-domain issues and I am actively pursuing them as a possible cause. My question is: are there other possible causes for a permission denied exception? I have tried using JQuery plugins that use YQL to do cross domain Ajax calls; however, they are geared towards json and tend to return the data to me in a mangled state.     Is there any pitfalls when using char*'s to write cross platform code that does memory access? I'm working on a play memory allocator to better understand how to debug memmory issues. I have come to believe char*'s are preferable because of the ability to do pointer arithmetic and derefernce them over void*'s, is that true?     All my entities can not be deleted - only deactivated, so they don't appear in any read methods (SELECT ... WHERE active=TRUE). Now I have some 1:M tables on this entities on which all CRUD operations can be executed. What is more efficient or has better performance? My first solution: To add to all CRUD operations: UPDATE ... JOIN entity e ... WHERE e.active=TRUE My second solution: Before all CRUD operations check if entity is active: if (getEntity(someId) != null) { //do some CRUD } In getEntity there's just SELECT * FROM entity WHERE id=? AND active=TRUE. Or any other solution, recommendation,...?

    I think one of the more difficult concepts to understand in the Zend Framework is how the Table Data Gateway pattern is supposed to handle multi-table joins. Most of the suggestions I've seen claim that you simply handle the joins using a $db-select()... Zend DB Select with multiple table joins Joining Tables With Zend Framework PHP Joining tables wthin a model in Zend Php Zend Framework Db Select Join table help Zend DB Select with multiple table joins My question is: Which object is best suited to handle this kind of multi-table select statement? I feel like putting it in the model would break the 1-1 Table Data Gateway pattern between the class and the db table. Yet putting it in the controller seems wrong because why would a controller handle a SQL statement? Anyway, I feel like ZF makes handling datasets from multiple tables more difficult than it needs to be. Any help you can provide is great... Thanks!

    I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to write this query. A hypothetical problem that is that same as the one I'm trying to solve: Say I have a table of apples. Each apple has numerous attributes, such as color_id, variety_id and the orchard_id they were picked from. The color_id, variety_id, and orchard_id all refer to their respective tables: colors, varieties, and orchards. Now, say I need to query for all apples that have color_id = '3', which refers to yellow in the colors table. I want to somehow obtain this yellow value from the query. Make sense? Here's what I was trying: SELECT * FROM apples, colors.id WHERE color_id = '3' LEFT JOIN colors ON apples.color_id = colors.id

The main reason being, those calls need to work under the app’s credentials. So instead here is what a SharePoint app does, It downloads a file called ~hostweburl/_layouts/15/SPRequestExecutor.js.     Recently we showed you how to enhance GIMP’s image editing power and today we help you super-charge GIMP even more. G’MIC (GREYC’s Magic Image Converter) will add an impressive array of filters and effects to your GIMP installation for image editing goodness. Note: We applied the Contrast Swiss Mask filter to the image shown in the screenshot above to create a nice, warm sunset effect. To add the new PPA open the Ubuntu Software Center, go to the Edit Menu, and select Software Sources. Access the Other Software Tab in the Software Sources Window and add the first of the PPAs shown below (outlined in red). The second PPA will be automatically added to your system. Once you have the new PPAs set up, go back to the Ubuntu Software Center and do a search for “G’MIC”. You will find two listings available and can select either one to add G’MIC to your system (both work equally well). Click on More Info for the listing that you choose and scroll down to where Add-ons are listed. Make sure to select the Add-on listed, click Apply Changes when it appears, and then click Install. We have both shown here for your convenience… When you get ready to use G’MIC to enhance an image, go to the Filters Menu and select G’MIC. A new window will appear where you can select from an impressive array of filters available for your use. Have fun!
