  Hello, How can I change default boot order in Ubuntu 10.04 from Ubuntu to Windows7? However, I already checked sudo gedit /etc/default/grub and modify the grub file to be GRUB_DEFAULT=4 and update the grup sudo update-grub I even install graph software to re order the book sudo startupmanager But still after restart the default choose for boot is Ubuntu ...   I'm a beginner in ruby-on-rails and I spent my last hour trying to do the following thing: I have a ruby-on-rails application - the blog with posts and categories. I want to have another URL for the posts (I would like to have http://localhost:3000/news instead of http://localhost:3000/posts) First I tried to replace the controller and classes from Posts to News, but I gave up(because of the annoyng singular-plural thing). Then in my I replaced map.resources :posts (case 1) to map.resources :news, :controller => "posts" #case 2 or map.resources :posts, :as => 'news' #case 3 in routes.rb as I saw on some websites. It doesn't work either. How can I do this? The problem is the RedirectToAction() returns a RedirectToRouteResult class and seems there is no way to convert that to JsonResult class ? This is the error I am getting; Error 124 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Web.Mvc.RedirectToRouteResult' to 'System.Web.Mvc.JsonResult'

  Hi All, I'm using a DTF immediate custom action. The Custom Action takes minimum of 5 minutes to perform its operation. Until that in the progress dialog, only the progress text is visible. The progress bar doesn't move at all. I set the ProgressText in the WiX file. How can i make the progress bar to move, so that it will be much user friendly. Now its just idle. It makes the feeling that the installer is struck in that action. Could someone please help me, how to give value to the progress control from C# DTF Custom Action. Thanks, Varun

  I'm working on a site, and its CMS used to save new page urls using the underscore character as a word seperator. Despite the fact that Google now treats underscore as a word seperator, the SEO powers that be are demanding the site use dashes instead. This is very easy to do within the CMS, and I can of course change all existing URLs saved in the MySQL database that serves the CMS. My problem lies in writing a .htaccess rule that will 301 old style underscore seperated links to the new style hyphenated verstion.   I am using Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7. On both machines, I cannot make Hiragana the default input method. Is there a way to do this? In the IME tool bar, there is the option to set the "Input Mode." This is always defaulted to "Direct Input." I would like to default to Hirgana or Katakana. I have found the setting dialog for this, by right clicking on the IME toolbar - settings - Japanese IME Standard - Properties - Default Input Mode. This setting seems to have no effect, no matter the combination of selections in the dialogs. Is there a way to reliably set the default Input Mode?

In my Controller I created 2 action methods: Import and Export. How could I manage to redirect each button click to the proper action method in my Controller? I have tried Html.ActionLink: <%= Html.ActionLink("Upload", "Import", "OracleFile")%> <%= Html.ActionLink("Download", "Export", "OracleFile")%> Html.ActionLink didn't do the trick. The action links were taking me to the right Action methods but they were generating a GET request. This way Request.Files.Count = 0. I need a POST request.

The scenario is this: I've got a default model binder set-up for a certain data-type, but depending on how it's being used (which is controlled via an attribute on the action) I need to ignore a set of data. I can use the RouteData on the controller context and see the action name, which I can use to go get the data, but wondered if that information is already available. Additionally, if the action in question is an asynchronous one, they'd be more processing involved in looking it up...

• Why are certain default application associations "locked"?

  Edit: As i now have three answers that do not answer the question: This question is not about getting the association to work again. I do not like fighting symptoms, i prefer cures. After associating my MP3 files with MPlayer using the Open with/Choose default program... dialogue i can no longer change that association using said dialogue, the Always use this [...] Checkbox is henceforth always greyed out (Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program does not let me change it either, it seems to just use the same dialogue anyway). That also happened for MP4s but not for MKVs for example, and if i associate my MP3s with other applications like VLC it does not get blocked. I would really like to know why that is and if i can avoid this beforehand (thankfully i know ways to fix it afterwards already). Edit: Another obervation: The blocking programs (i managed to block it with an association to Visual Studio as well) do not appear in the Recommended Programs of the open-with-dialogue (And the explorer said: "The current program is not recommended, but i won't let you change it, ha!"). Edit: A screenshot as requested: As you can see on the top left (if you know the icon of MPlayer), the file is currently associated with MPlayer. Edit: Ways to fix it (Note: This question is not about fixing it) Using the Default Programs Control Panel > Default Programs > Set Default Programs, select WMP, Choose defaults for this program, check .mp3 This should reassociate the files with WMP and you can create a new association in the explorer. Using the registry (As always, keep your hands off it unless you know what you are doing or if you are fine with accidentally breaking your system) HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > FileExts > .mp3 Here you could for example clean up the open-with-list, and the current default program seems to be saved here as well in the key UserChoice, there you can change the ProgId string to another application, you can associate it with WMP by entering WMP11.AssocFile.MP3 or just pick another application right away. You may need to mess with permissions on the key though, if you cannot change the ProgId value.

I found the custom action project template in VS2008 when WIX 3.0 is installed. Now, i couldnt find any template in VS2005 with WIX 2.0. • How can I add subdomains of default accepted domain of Exchange 2010

  I have an Exchange 2010 that has several accepted domains. Now I want this server to accept - besides the default SMTP domain - all subdomains of the default domain. The documentation in Technet states When you create an accepted domain, you can use a wildcard character (*) in the address space to indicate that all subdomains of the SMTP address space are also accepted by the Exchange organization. For example, to configure Contoso.com and all its subdomains as accepted domains, enter *.Contoso.com as the SMTP address space. It is, however not possible to add e. g. *.contoso.com if contoso.com is already configured. Exchange complains in this case that the domain is already configured. It is also not possible to edit the "value", i. e. the domain name of an accepted domain. I know that I cannot modify the default accepted domain, but changing it to another does not help either, because the domain name itself can never be edited. The last idea was deleting the accepted domain and re-creating it with "*." prepended. This is, however, also impossible because it is of course not possible to delete or modify the default address policy and if a domain name is used in an address template it cannot be removed from the accepted domains. The question is: How can I make my Exchange 2010 server accept any subdomain of its default accepted domain with a wildcard?

• C# style Action<T>, Func<T,T>, etc in C++0x

  C# has generic function types such as Action<T> or Func<T,U,V,...> With the advent of C++0x and the ability to have template typedef's and variadic template parameters, it seems this should be possible. The obvious solution to me would be this: template <typename T> using Action<T> = void (*)(T); however, this does not accommodate for functors or C++0x lambdas, and beyond that, does not compile with the error "expected unqualified-id before 'using'" My next attempt was to perhaps use boost::function: template <typename T> using Action<T> = boost::function<void (T)>; This doesn't compile either, for the same reason. My only other idea would be STL style template arguments: template <typename T, typename Action> void foo(T value, Action f) { f(value); } But this doesn't provide a strongly typed solution, and is only relevant inside the templated function. Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not the C++ wiz I prefer to think I am, so it's very possible there is an obvious solution I'm not seeing. Is it possible to have C# style generic function types in C++?

• after upgrade to outlook 2013 Contacts have the default picture in reading pane

  I'm using Windows 8 on a domain (using a domain account not a Microsoft account) connecting to Exchange, all my Contacts were outlook contacts with pictures and other data, I could see the picture of the contact in the reading pane and people pane while using Outlook 2010. After the upgrade to Outlook 2013 I can see my outlook contacts but it appears that they are unavailable in the reading pane because all i can see is the default picture (the default picture picture is also visible in the notifications). If I put the mouse over the name of the people while in the reading pane all I can see is the card with the default info (the only data is that the contact is available in the next 8 hours), if i compose a new message and hover the name of the contact i can see the card with all the data (picture, company, etc.). Is this the default behavior in Outlook 2013 if you are in a domain and not connected to any service or there is a way to show the picture of my contacts in every part of outlook?

• Removing $_SESSION['layout']['action'] globally from all users!

  Ok, I am storing a session variable like so to load up users layouts faster if it's set instead of calling the database. But since the layout can be changed via the Administrator, I'd like to be able to globally remove all sessions where $_SESSION['layout']['action'] is set for all users. $_SESSION['layout']['action'] = array(a ton of indexes and mulit-dimensional arrays); Now, I know it's being stored into my database sessions table, there's a column for session_id, last_update, and data. So, question I have is how to remove that session array key ['action'] from all users. Using $_SESSION = array(); session_destroy(); Does not work. Basically, session_start() is being loaded on every page load, so I just want to remove all ['action'] keys from ['layout']. Is this possible to do? Thanks
