  • Changing the default boot option without losing the boot menu

    I've had a working multi-boot setup with the Windows boot loader, containing menu items for two Windows 7 systems, and one for Grub. Grub in turn contains multiple menu items, but I think that's not relevant here. I've upgraded one system to Windows 8. When I now set a different system as the default, I lose the boot menu, and I lose the possibility of booting into the other systems. I've set Windows 7 as the default, rebooted, and get Windows 7, but I don't get to choose which system to boot into. I can run its own bcdedit to change the default back to Windows 8, and another reboot shows the boot menu again, but how can I avoid defaulting to Windows 8? Here are my current boot settings, is there anything that is misconfigured?     Hi, i'm having a problem with dynamically loaded forms - instead of using the action attribute of the newly loaded form, my jquery code is still using the action attribute of the first form loaded.     If I install Winamp through automated means (e.g. Using http://ninite.com/), it is automatically installed using the default 'boxy' skin. I can't work out how to interface with this skin as easily as the new 'Bento' skin. In addition, there doesn't seem to be an option to download the Bento skin, or change the skin from Default to Bento without uninstalling and reinstalling it again. Is there a menu option or a downloadable skin that is the default Bento skin? Or do I have to re-install to get this 'new default' skin?

  • Advanced Chrome/ Chromium won't set as the default browser

    I've downloaded Advanced Chrome (http://browser.taokaizen.com/) and am now using it instead of Chrome. Each time I open the browser, it keeps asking me if I would like to set it as the default browser, which I do. When the browser is reopened, it asks me again. I've looked at Settings and tried to click the 'make Chromium my default browser' button, but it doesn't appear to register my wish to make it the default browser - nothing happens! Any ideas?

    I have been working on migrating a web application from Struts1 to Struts2. I have a simple Form with around 45 Fields (basically a grid with data). I have to capture all those in Struts2 Action.I noticed that in struts2 we have OGNL through which we just write getters setters in action itself by declaring fields locally to get those variables flowing in the request. I cannot write 45 getters/setters in my action, there must be a way to pass whole object(a POJO) from jsp to Action layer. In Struts 1, we normally get a ActionForm Object and/or get request parameters in a map and then populate. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hi, I have around 70 shapes in a planning document i use for work, everything is fine but i am trying to add a new feature. These shapes are changed using edit points each week to show up on a map, but sometimes shape "A" may not get used in which i just want to turn it back to a default size along with all the other shapes. Does anyone know how i could achieve this via a Macro, i have tried lots of things and searched everywhere but i am at my wits end... If a shape is not default, set all non default shapes to default size. Thanks in advance

    I want to embed a partial view in an ASP.NET MVC page by returning it from an action method. In my base view, I would have: <%= Html.Action("MyPartialViewAction") %> My controller would have an action method like: [ChildActionOnly] public ActionResult MyPartialViewAction() { return PartialView("MyPartialView"); } I expected the returned partial view (MyPartialView) to have access to the ViewData that was set in the base page's controller action but that doesn't appear to be the case. If I insert the partial view by using the following in my base view it works: <% Html.RenderPartial("MyPartialView") %> I don't want to do that though because I want my "MyPartialViewAction" to execute logic to determine WHICH partial view to return.

    I have several Windows Server 2003 Terminal servers to service our domain users. Sometimes the Default User profile (C:\Documents and Settings\Default User) gets filled with tempoary internet files, so when a new user logs in, he gets a 1GB profile (instead of 20MB) that fills up the server fast. Why is it the default user profile gets filled up with files like that, by who and how do i prevent this?

    I'm working with Ruby on rails 2.3.4 and I'd like to have a link that executes an action when clicked. The relevant part of the routes.rb file looks like this: map.search_filter_relevance "/anuncios/buscar", :controller => 'announcements', :action => 'search_filter_relevance' My view(it's the model's index page) looks like this: <%= link_to 'M&Aacute;S RELEVANTES', search_filter_relevance_path %> And my controller looks like this: def search_filter_relevance raise params.inspect unless params[:announcements].nil? or params[:announcements].empty? @announcements = params[:announcements].order_by_featured end end The problem is that when I click the link I get an error due to some null value in the Show action! I'm not accessing that action at all...why is executing it?

    Trying to consistently tack on a route parameter for every action without having to set it every action I tried this with ViewData but it seems ineffecient to do to every action. when I have over 40-50 actions, and Sessions are a no go for me. Is there a simpler way through filters or something else I could use? eg. http://localhost/myController/myView?param=foo eg. http://localhost/myController/myView/myID?param=foo (needs to be tacked on id automatically)

  • IIS7.5 is only resolving to the Default Web Site

    I am able to access only the Default Web Site on a Windows 2008 R2 Server which is running IIS 7.5 The Default Web Site's binding is to "All Unassigned", same way as I have done it on a different machine running IIS6 under Windows 2003 Server. The bindings of the desired Web Site have the IP address of the server and the correct home directory. Regardless what I do, the only page content I can see is the default index page in the wwwroot directory which is the Default Web Site. What must I do to deliver the correct content from the Web Sites that are configured in IIS7.5?

  • Site Action Button Missing

    I have a Moss 2007 site collection which was running smoothly. However, after moving to Forms Authentication connected to Active Directory neither my Farm Administrator account nor the 2 Site collection administrators can get past the site homepage. There is no Site Action buttons availabe. When I log into CA witht he Farm Administrator account the Site Action button exists there so I suspect its something to do with the permissions to the site application. I have tried to connect directly to the settings URL http://mysite/_layouts/settings.aspx etc but get the ususal error Error: Access Denied Current User You are currently signed in as: xxxx (Farm Administrator Account) Sign in as a different user Request access I get the same error when logging in with the site collection admin accounts. Ive also checked to make sure that the sites are not locked out.

    UPDATE: My model going into the save method is PartialViewModel, which in the save method, is pushed into the index's ContactViewModel and sent back. This wasn't clear. I am playing around with MVC3, and have a contact controller with a SaveDetails action. The index cshtml has a partial with a form whose action is pointing to this controller. When I submit the form not having completed it fully, thereby firing the validation, the url now contains the SaveDetails action name (http://localhost:7401/Contact/SaveDetails). The form code is: @using (Html.BeginForm("SaveDetails", "Contact")) { ... } The controller action looks like this: public ActionResult SaveDetails(Models.PartialsViewModel pvm) { return View("Index", new ContactViewModel{ PartialsViewModel = pvm } ); } What am I doing wrong?

RedirectToAction("ThanksCreate") : RedirectToAction("Register"); In my unit tests I would like to get hold of the ‘views’ modelstate somehow like this: var modelState = result.ViewData.ModelState; Assert.IsFalse( modelState.IsValid ); where ‘result’ (ViewResult) is the result of the action ‘Create’ depending on the submitted DTO. My dilemma is that my action ‘returns’ a RedirectToRouteResult which I thought is quite nice but it might not be testable or is it? How could I get hold of the ModelState in my scenario? Thanks.   • Default documentroot apache does not work

    I have apache version 2.2 and php 5.3.15 on a single server. I configured virtual hosting and a default vhost. 0_default_.conf - goes to /var/www/default sub.domain.com.conf - goes to /var/www/sub.domain.com My question is, how could I set the default documentroot to sub.domain.com permanently? That means all request should be redirected to sub.domain.com. I try to remove 0_default_.conf but when viewing the page it display the php source code of sub.domain.com. Here is my configurations -- http://pastebin.com/4e3awUJ4 Although I can create index.php to /var/www/default and permanently redirect to sub.domain.com site but it's not viable solution for me because what if I didn't point the ip address of sub.domain.com to the server so user cannot view that subdomain.     We have some problems with users performing a specific action twice, we have a mechanism to ensure that users can't do it but somehow it still happens. Here is how our current mechanism works: Client side: The button will be disabled after 1 click. Server side: We have a key hash in the URL which will be checked against the key stored in SESSIONS, once it matches, the key is deleted. Database side: Once the action is performed, there is a field to be flagged indicating the user has completed the action. However, with all these measures, still there are users able to perform the action twice, are there any more safer methods?
