  • rails test.log is always empty

    All the log entries generated when running tests with 'rake' are written to my development.log instead of test.log file Do I have to explicitly enable logging for test in enviornments/test.config?? (I'm using 'turn' gem to format test output, Can that cause an issue?) I'm running rails 2.3.5, ruby 1.8.7 I've all these gems installed for RAILS_ENV=test.   • Searchlogic cannot sort search result

    Imagine a code: search = Project.search( :title_or_description_or_child_name_or_child_age_or_inspiration_or_decorating_style_or_favorite_item_or_others_like_any => keys, :galleries_id_like_any => @g, :styles_id_like_any => @st, :tags_like_any => @t ) search.all returns the rows correctly. But search.descend_by_views returns nil. Is this gem buggy? What else should I use then?

    I'm trying to write some tests (RSpec) against the AppEngine and its datastore. I've tried to load the environment and tests via: appcfg.rb run -S spec app/tests/ And I end up with the following error: spec:19: undefined method `bin_path' for Gem:Module (NoMethodError) I can run non-appengine specs just fine by running: spec app/tests/ Any suggestions on how to get RSpec up and running with JRuby and Google App Engine would be greatly appreciated. After I open up the port I send the data I want like this. sp.write [200.chr, 30.chr, 7.chr, 5.chr, 1.chr, 2.chr, 0.chr, 245.chr].to_s It doesn't work, but if I put it in a loop of around 200 times: 200.times do sp.write [200.chr, 30.chr, 7.chr, 5.chr, 1.chr, 2.chr, 0.chr, 245.chr].to_s end It works. Any ideas on why this is happening?

  • Installing RESTful Authentication on netbeans

    Hi I am using Netbeans 6.8 on ubuntu 10.04 and am having trouble installing RESTful Authentication. I have gone to Install Generators, selected restful_authentication and installed it - all messages from Gem show that it has installed and it shows under the Installed tab. However, when I come to use it by clicking on the Generator drop down there is no sign of it. I beleive ther should be a selection saying "authenticated".

    Is there a way to programmatically invoke the keypad "click" sound? My app has a custom keypad (built out of UIButtons) and I'd like to provide some audio feedback when the user taps on the keys. I tried creating my own sounds in Garageband, but wasn't happy with any of my creations. If there isn't a standard way to invoke the key click, can anyone point me to a library of sounds that might have such a gem?

    After I did brew update and brew upgrade, my postgres got some problem. I tried to uninstall postgres and install again, but it didn't work as well. How can I solve it?   • Installing a rails plugin from a Git repository

    I've been trying to install Shoulda script/plugin install git://github.com/thoughtbot/shoulda.git but all I get is: removing: C:/Documents and Settings/Danny/My Documents/Projects/Ruby On Rails/_ProjectName_/vendor/plugins/shoulda/.git > And the vender/plugins directory is empty. I have Rails 2.1.1 installed as a gem and have verified that 2.1.1 is loaded (using a puts inserted into config/boot.rb). Any ideas about what's going on? (this is on a windows box)
