  • Encoding non-English characters

    Hey there! I'm having a bit of trouble here and I was hoping someone throws me a hint :) I'm getting some GET VARS with JS but I have trouble with non-latin charsets: cyrillic for example. The cyrillic var appears correct in the url but when I retrieve it with JS I get some dummy string. I was wondering of a function similar to "unescape" for such a case. Alternatively, if someone knows a way I could convert a cyrillic string to the same dummy string I get from the URL, it will still do me the trick, since all I need is compare. :) Thanks! Martin

    Ok, after figuring out the earlier question 'Layout Question', now my OnItemClickListener, and ItemLongClickListener(ContextMenu) have stopped working.     I want to make some GUI mockup program for video player, so my idea is just to show some menu pictures over real video being playback. I have working program made with C and SDL just to load pictures and make a slideshow, but i don´t know how to put this over video with transparencies.   • Funny characters in my db

    My web app is breaking when I try edit a certain content type and I'm pretty sure it is because of some weird characters in my database. So when I do: SELECT body FROM message WHERE id = 666 it returns: <p>⢠<span></span></p><p><br /></p><p><em><strong>NOTE:</strong> Please remember to use your to participate in the discussion.</em></p> However when I try to count how many documents have those characters postgres complains: foo_450_prod=# SELECT COUNT(*) FROM message WHERE body LIKE'%â¢%'; ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xe2a225 HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encodi Does anybody know what the issue is and how I can query for those funny characters?     Hi All, I have a problem with my entity manager in my application. I have two DAO clasess like this: @Repository public abstract class DaoA { protected ClassA persistentClass; @PersistenceContext(name="my.persistence", type=PersistenceContextType.EXTENDED) protected EntityManager entityManager; -------------- some typical action for DAO -------------- } Second DAO is for ClassB and looks similar to DaoA. The rest of things are done for me by the Spring framework. When I'm debugging the application I recognize that both DAO objects have different instances of EntityManager. In the result my two different DAOs are connected with different PersistenceContext. Question is if this is correct behaviour or not? I would like to have the same PersistenceContext for all my DAO classes. Please give me a hint if this is possible and if I understood the JPA correctly? Regards Hsd

I am now considering using a regular expression,and then use the java.util.Pattern to help get the data out,but still not very clear about the process.   • In eclipse, how can I create a shortcut for an existing command that has no shortcut binding in the

    In eclipse, the behavior of Ctrl+F11 is determined by preference config, and you could have either "Run last launch in history" or "Run current resource/editor" option available. But I'd like to have both of them at the same time, with an additional shortcut (e.g. Alt+F11). But eclipse doesn't provide the two commands in "key preference". Can I create a new shortcut that links to the "Run last launched" or "Run current editor"? It'd be even better if i could make a shortcut to show the launch history(the arrow beside the green little run button) Is this possible? could anyone give a quick hint on where to find resources to implement it? P.S.: Maven plugin's "Add dependency" common is another good candidate.

  • BULK INSERT with inconsitant number of columns

    I am trying to load a large amount data in SQL server from a flat file using BULK INSERT. However, my file has varying number of column, for instance the first row contains 14 and the second contains 4. That is OK, I just want to make a table with the max number of columns and load the file into it with nulls for the missing columns. I can play with it from that point. But it seems that SQL Server when reaching the end of the line and having more columns to fill for that same row in the destination table, just moves on to the next line and attempts to put the data on that line to the wrong column of the table. Is there a way to get the behavior that I am looking for? Is there a table hint that I can use the specify this? Has anyone run into this before? Here is the code BULK INSERT #t FROM '<path to file>' WITH ( DATAFILETYPE = 'char', KEEPNULLS, FIELDTERMINATOR = '#' )

    Can you guys help me with the algorithm to do these things? I have preorder, inorder, and postorder implemented, and I am given the hint to traverse the tree with one of these orders. I am using dotty to label (or "visit") the nodes. Depth is the number of edges from the root to the bottom leaf, so everytime I move, I add +1 to the depth? Something like that? No idea about the algorithm for descendants. They are asking about the number of nodes a specific node has under itself. These are normal trees btw.

For your understanding, I would like to let's say take bytes 1-500 and 1.000-3.000 from file1 and bytes 501-999 and bytes 3.001 to 5.000 from file2 to offer them as a combined block-device. My prefered programming language is Python and I want to write my program in user-space as much as possible. For Windows I found such an implementation.   • Mapping java.util.Date to xs:date instead of xs:dateTime in JAX-WS

    Hi all, We hav an EJB, jws-anotated as a web service. It has a pretty complex pojo-model that generates an equally complex xsd. The pojos contain numerous java.util.Date. These all map to xs:dateTime. This service is used as "business service" in Oracle(BEA) OSB(AquaLogic). We also have a "proxy service" which we map to the BS with XQuery (the OSB/AquaLogic way). The proxy service's xsd has xs:date for the corresponding fields. For some reason, Oracle's implementation of XQuery does not support casting from xs:date to xs:dateTime(!). I could solve this by casting to xs:string and concat:ing with "T00:00:00", however, i would rather try to get JAX-WS to generate an xsd with xs:date instead. Only, I can't find any info on how to do this (anotations?). Can anyone give me a hint? Kind regards, Lars

    Hello everyone: I am trying to analyze my agent results from a collection of 20 txt files here. If you wonder about the background info, please go see my page, what I am doing here is just one step. Basically I would like to take only my agent's result out of the messy context, so I've got this command for a single file: cat run15.txt | grep -A 50 -E '^Agent Name: agent10479475' | grep -B 50 '^==' This means : after the regex match, continue forward by 50 lines, stop, then match a line separator starts with "==", go back by 50 lines, if possible (This would certainly clash the very first line). This approach depends on the fact that the hard-coded line number counter 50, would be just fine to get exactly one line separator. And this would not work if I do the following code: cat run*.txt | grep -A 50 -E '^Agent Name: agent10479475' | grep -B 50 '^==' The output would be a mess... My question is: how to make sure grep knows exactly when to stop going forward, and when to stop getting backward? Any suggestion or hint is much appreciated.

    Hi, at work, we have a SVN repo, which we access to thorugh http, like: svn co http://user@machine/PATH even at work and for some misterious reasons, teh connections between local machines and the repo machine are very slow, but the connection between home and work is almost impossible. I wonder if I could do somethin like: 1- get a copy of the "master" SVN repo to my local machine 2- each time i make modifications etc, use svn co http://user@MYLOCALmachine/PATH instead of svn co http://user@machine/PATH 3- when I am back at work, "merge" somehow all the modifications in my local repo to the master one. Sorry, I am ewally new to SVN, any hint would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi guys, is there a way (hardware/software-combination) that I can use to control one or more "Philips Living Colors" lamps using a PC - e.g. a USB-stick that acts as the "remote". This way i could control the lamp through software (e.g. a web-app - over iPhone / remotely) or even create what Philips builds into some of their TVs and calls "ambilight" (graphics driver detecting the main color to control the lamp). I guess this is more like a hardware than a software question - but I couldn't find anything about this online and I'm sure not to be the first to have come up with this idea right when I unpacked my LivingColors lamp yesterday ;) Any idea/hint is appreciated. -chris
