  • Remote Desktop svchost (networkservice) & lsa.exe high cpu usage, hangs on welcome screen

    We have deployed an RDS Farm with 12 virtual RDS servers using Hyper V. Currently some users are not able to log on. After passing credentials to the connection broker, the session hangs on the "Welcome" screen. Using resource monitor we've seen that svchost (with the "networkservice" service) has a CPU usage of 50%, when viewing the wait chain on the process it displays that it's waiting for a lsa.exe to finish. We can't kill any of the users processes, even when trying with taskkill /f. Suspending lsa.exe did work but didn't have any effect. The networkservice also couldn't be restarted. Also, if this happens, the current users logged on to the RDS server can't be displayed. Task manager crashes when viewing the users, RDS service manager crashes when viewing the users (even remotely) and the cmd command "query session" doesn't work. No antivirus is installed on the RDS server. The only thing we can do is rebooting the server, which is not an option because of the fact that other users are in active sessions. Does anyone have ANY idea what's going on? We didn't encounter this in our pre-production setup.

    Does anyone know a kind of software that allows controlling of other computer, but the server can configure permission control? For example, the server can define five users, one of them can control, but the other four of them can only view. Also, file transfer support is required. I've tried TightVNC, it works fine with anything else, but it just does not support user permission control. RAdmin can serve this job, but I wish to find some software which is free. Thank you!

    I've been trying to figure out why I keep getting this error when I try to connect to the MySQL server with the following commands. $~ mysql -u username -h SQLserver -p Enter password: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'username'@'myIP' (using password: YES) I've done the following: Port is open in the firewall other wise I wouldn't get the error it'd just timeout. MySQL server not running with skip-networking or bind-address username has host as '%' and I can connect locally so the password is correct.     I installed Gitorious on my (shared) hosting. I was getting errors, but I seemed to have fixed most of them. It is working. When I commit/push, I get a lot of remote: errors spewed out although it does push the files properly from what I can tell.     We're using the Eclipse CDT 5 C++ IDE on Windows to develop a C++ application on a remote AIX host. Eclipse CDT has the ability to perform remote debugging using gdbserver. Unfortunately, gdbserver is not supported on AIX. Is anyone familiar with a way to debug remotely using Eclipse CDT without gdbserver? Perhaps using an SSH shell connection to gdb?

I attempted to use something like this: $("a").click(function() { location.reload(); }); However, this will reload the page without following the link (something like a href="#div02"). How do I get it to both follow the link and reload the page?

  • Drupal 6 / Views2 Grid style: whole cells link to nodes

    I have a Users page, which is simply a nicely styled grid (HTML table) of users. I'm displaying a few fields for each one, and both the name and the profile picture have been set to link to the user node. What is the best way to change it so that the whole cell (HTML td) links to the user node? Would you have to use javascript? I've looked into modifying the theme of the view (over-riding the Style output e.g. views-view-grid--users.tpl.php), but cant see an elegant way to get the URL of the user node. And I think you would have to use javascript anyway to turn a whole block element into a link.

  • Symbolic link all files in directory to show in another directory?

    What I want is to be able to display all files that are ftp'd into /home/ftp in /srv/ftp /srv/ftp is password protected, and has files in it which I don't want to be accessible from the public ftp. So as such I wish that all files uploaded to /home/ftp are automatically symbolically linked (or otherwise) to /srv/ftp. Does this make sense? e.g. ls /srv/ftp: file.sh another.txt something_else.i386 then a user ftp's and drops a file in /home/ftp (or ssh, or whatever) ls /home/ftp: user_file.mk ls /srv/ftp: file.sh another.txt something_else.i386 user_file.mk I hope this makes sense. I have been told that this can probably be achieved using ln to create symbolic links, but I don't want to have to ssh in and create the links every time I (or someone else) puts files over ftp.     When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails.     Hi, I just deployed a web application on JBOSS 4.2. It can be accessed locally only (http://localhost:8080/myApp). I cant access it from remote computer by typing its domain: (www.hostname.com:8080/myApp). I added Port 8080 as Exception in Windows Firewall.     I am working remotely on a Windows Server via Remote Desktop Connection and some process has hung the server. I looked up how to bring up the Task Manager remote (equivalent of locally doing CTRL+ALT+DEL) and I found CTRL+ALT+END and it doesn't seem to work. I tried logging off and logging back on and the system is still up (tried earlier seeing the properties of My Comptuer, FYI). Does anyone know how I can escape this 'hindrance' and star fresh?!?

  • How do I control remote Windows 7 machine? VNC/RDP/?

    I have a Windows 7 laptop that's going out and about and I'd like to be able to admin' it from my Ubuntu (precise) desktop. While the laptop is in my office I can use Gnome's "Remote Desktop Viewer" (Vinagre) to connect via RDP. However, when it's in the office I don't really need RDP of course! And when it's out of the office I cannot control the routers/firewalls along the way, so I won't know the IP and cannot set up port forwards. I'm looking for a Ubuntu compatible way to achieve this. Nb. I can set up port forwards at the my office end, so a service on the laptop could try a "backwards" connection to my client.

    I have two computers on which I recently installed windows 7 64 bit. Using VPN, they connect to remote network on which there is a Windows Server 2000 SP4 computer. User is supposed to connect to server using remote desktop. I set same VPN and remote desktop settings on both computers with Windows 7. I set Remote desktop to save connection credentials on both computers, but when I connect to server form one computer, it uses saved credentials and I don't get log-in prompt on server side. On the other computer with same settings using same username and password, I get log-in prompt once the remote desktop connects to server. I even tried copying the .rdp file from the computer on which everything is working fine to the other computer, but that didn't help. Note that I'm not trying to have both computers connected at the same time. What is causing this and how do I make the other computer skip windows server 2000 log-in prompt.

    So the release of Windows Server 2012 has removed a lot of the old Remote Desktop related configuration utilities. In particular, there is no more Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration utility that gave you access to the RDP-Tcp properties dialog that let you configure a custom certificate for the RDSH to use. In its place is a nice new consolidated GUI that is part of the overall "edit deployment properties" workflow in the new Server Manager. The catch is that you only get access to that workflow if you have the Remote Desktop Services role installed (as far as I can tell). This seems like a bit of an oversight on Microsoft's part. How can we configure a custom SSL certificate for RDP on Windows Server 2012 when it's running in the default Remote Administration mode without needlessly installing the Remote Desktop Services role?

    I have a domain installed on virtual Windows Server 2008 x64. SQL Server 2008 Express x64 is running in Windows Server 2008 x64 and client on Windows 7 RTM x86. Both are into the domain. I'm starting both Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio 2008 under domain admin user. This account is a member of group sysadmin on SQL Server. Server has firewall exceptions for both TCP and UDP on ports 135-139 and 1433-1434. Visual Studio 2008 Remote debugger services is started on server and Domain Admins group is allowed to debug, When I'm starting debugging of a query in SMS I'm getting this error: Failed to start debugger Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
