  • WCF passing data types

    writing a WCF soap server which is going to be working with a flex client. what the best way of passing the result of a sql select statement? with pro's and con's would be good :D I know I can define data contracts, however defining lots of these for every sql statment is going to take a long time. i'm doing this with SQL server 2000, VS2010 and flex sdk 3/4. apart form that there isn't really that many other requirements that couldn't be moved at present.     Hi, I am writing a CPP program on windows 2k3 where i want to achieve the following thing. Pass the user context from the impersonated thread to a outproc COM component. Steps what i m trying in details are: 1) Start an execution of exe with user USR1 2) Impersonate the current thread with USR2 3) Initiate a API on outproc COM object. And this COM object should run with USR2 What is happening: on 3rd step, COM object is getting started with USR1 only. Can anybody help me in passing the user context to COM object. For example: void MyParameterizedFunction(String param1, int param2, bool param3=false); Does Java support this kind of syntax? Are there any reasons why this two step syntax is preferable?

    Wonder if there is a parameter I can pass in mmysqldump equivalent for SQL Servery mysqldump that will make the incorrect "DROP TABLE IF EXISTS" statements into "DROP VIEW IF EXISTS", so that populating a database in an automated development environment refresh will work? Clarification, I'm getting DROP TABLE IF EXISTS statements in my .sql dump file even though they aren't tables. FYI: This is a Drupal site. The tables in question are ubercart meta statistics tables.

Is there any library missing in the CS file!! I cannot figure out what is the problem.

    Hello, I have a dictionary I'm passing to a View. I want to be able to pass the values of that dictionary back to a Controller action from this same View. Is there anyway this can be accomplished without using a form? The situation is that I need to be able to pass these back to a controller action that is called when a user clicks an ActionLink from the View, and in my experience an ActionLink cannot be used to submit a values of a form, i.e. I've only been able to submit values of a form using the form's submit button. Unless there's a way to use an ActionLink to submit values in a form.

There are no. of places in entire application we need to update data in bulk (or multiple records) I just need your suggestions that Which method will be faster (please mention if there are some other overheads) Manageability or testability concern with any approach Any other bottleneck or issue with any of the approach (Serialization /Deserialization concern or limit on size of the data passing) Any other method you suggest for same operations Thanks

Some of the contain only output <operation name="getServerTimeZone"> <output message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapOut"/> </operation> I would expect that the correct should be: <operation name="getServerTimeZone"> <input message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapIn"/> <output message="s0:getServerTimeZoneSoapOut"/> </operation> The problem is that when I am trying to create stubs from the WSDL using gsoap wsdl2h parser I got the following error: No wsdl:definitions/portType/operation/input I haven't tested with other tools (ie WSDL2Java). My question: Is it valid to have a portType with no input? I am using AltovaXML Spy and this WSDL passes the validation.... Is there any meaning having WSDL operation with no input? (I am not talking about One-Way Message Passing, where you can have input but no output - this is valid).

    I was told I can add the -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError parameter to my JVM start up options to my JBoss start up script to get a heap dump when we get an out of memory error in our application. I was wondering where this data gets dumped? Is it just to the console, or to some log file? If it's just to the console, what if I'm not logged into the unix server through the console? Thanks
