  • Bing Maps - how to link to a push pin from a link outside the map

    I have a Virtual Earth Maps (Bing Maps??) to which I have added a set of pushpins. Each pushpin is labelled 1 to n. In addition to adding pushpins to the map, I also add text to the web-page that contains the description to each pushpin. I would like to add a link to the text outside the map, that when clicked will open the balloon associated with the corresponding pushpin. How do I open the balloon associated with a pushpin, through a link that exists outside the map? To get a better understanding, look at my map: link. When you click load, PushPins are added to the map. I would like to have a link from the list on the right of the map, that opens the corresponding PushPin. Thanks in advance!

  • I started getting a weird message "Encrypting file system - Back up your file encryption key"

    Hello I started getting a strange message when I start my computer. An icon appears in the system tray, and a popup tells me "Encrypting file system - Back up your file encryption key". I know what EFS is, but I don't use it. To my knowledge, I don't have any encrypted files on my partition. I have searched using Total Commander on all the partitions for files that have the "encrypted" attribute, but I found nothing. So I don't have any encrypted files. Does anyone know what I did to get this message?

    I have a table in my view controller (let's call it TVC1). I have rows in TVC1 that are used so the user can input some more data in addition to the data on TVC1. So, when someone taps a specific row in TVC1, it will show another view controller (let's call it TVC2). However, when TVC2 is shown, all of the data in TVC1 is cleared. How can I save the data in TVC1? Should I do it through the app delegate?   • Back up Windows 2008 SBS to iSCSI disk

    I've almost no experience with SBS 2008, so please excuse my noob question! SBS 2008 only has the most basic backup utility built in as far as I can tell (similar to Vista), and it will only back up to physical volumes. I've read that you can set up a batch task to backup to a network volume, but right now I just need to get something deployed ASAP. We have an iSCSI target with plenty of free space. Is it worth backing up to an iSCSI target? Or am I wasting my time? If I need to do a recovery from the iSCSI disk, how would I go about it?

  • When Citrix desktop disconnects SAP Client holds session and can't log back in

    We have a fairly large Citrix implementation and have just pushed out SAP desktop client to all of the desktops. Everything else is working fine except the following problem: If a user Disconnects their session and the session is running the SAP client, (logging off works fine) the user can not reconnect and log back in. We have a script on the server that terminates the session as a work around. We can see on the server that it is the SAP client that is holding on and running. This is at a large office, but the SAP servers are in another hemisphere. As is the custom Citrix says its SAP and SAP says it is Citrix. I don't like using a powershell script as a substitute for a system configuration solution.

  • Getting values from DataGridView back to XDocument (using LINQ-to-XML)

    Learning LINQ has been a lot of fun so far, but despite reading a couple books and a bunch of online resources on the topic, I still feel like a total n00b. Recently, I just learned that if my query returns an Anonymous type, the DataGridView I'm populating will be ReadOnly (because, apparently Anonymous types are ReadOnly.) Right now, I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to: Get a subset of data from an XML file into a DataGridView, Allow the user to edit said data, Stick the changed data back into the XML file. Upon doing a Step-thru trace of my code, I'm finding that the changes to the values made in DataGridView are not bound to the XDocument object and as such, do not propagate back. How do we take care of Step 3? (getting the data back to the XML) Is it possible to Bind the XML directly to the DataGridView? Or do I have to write another LINQ statement to get the data from the DGV back to the XDocument? Suggstions?

  • Change Ubuntu 11 scrollbars back to the old style

    The question: I've installed Ubuntu 11.04 and the new scrollbars in Nautilus, GEdit, etc. are driving me insane! How do I go back to the old (Ubuntu 10.10 and earlier) scrollbars? The explanation (for those who haven't upgraded yet): In the Natty Nautilus you can't actually see a scrollbar normally. Instead you mouse over to where it should be (to the left of the border) and then it appears, but it doesn't appear under the mouse pointer! Instead it appears to the side (to the right of the border), so starting to scroll is now a fairly involved mouse manoeuvre. I don't know what UX genius came up with this, but I want none of it.

    i am trying to set up policy routing on my home server. My network looks like this: Host routed VPN gateway Internet link through VPN 192.168.0.35/24 ---> 192.168.0.5/24 ---> 192.168.0.1 DSL router 10.200.2.235/22 .... .... 10.200.0.1 VPN server The traffic from 192.168.0.32/27 should be and is routed through VPN. I wanted to define some routing policies to route some traffic from 192.168.0.5 through VPN as well - for start - from user with uid 2000. Policy routing is done using iptables mark target and ip rule fwmark. The problem: When connecting using user 2000 from 192.168.0.5 tcpdump shows outgoing packets, but nothing comes back. Traffic from 192.168.0.35 works fine (here I am not using fwmark but src policy).   • CentOS: revert python version back to original

    Hi all, I installed python 2.6 using the instructions here on CentOS 5.4. However I realized it was a bad move and I need to revert back to 2.4, which was there originally. Can anyone guide me on how to undo what I did here? In particular, I am not sure how to undo this: Configure ld to find your shared libs: $ cat /etc/ld.so.conf.d/opt-python2.5.conf /opt/python2.5/lib (hit enter) (hit ctrl-d to return to shell) $ ldconfig I tried removing the alias and the symlink and even re-aliasing python to /usr/bin/python, but when I try to install an RPM i get this error: error: Failed dependencies: libpython2.4.so.1.0 is needed by ...   • Powerpoint template image placeholders can't send to back

    We want to be able to set up a PowerPoint 2007 template with a picture frame image. We then want to insert an image in normal view which would appear behind the picture frame image that was put in the template (so it looks logically like a picture in a picture frame). Problem is, when we insert the image in normal view it always appears on top of the picture frame image. It appears that you can't send to back when the other elements are included in a template. Any ideas?

  • How to diagnose repeated freezing of windows 7 (comes back alive in few seconds)

    I installed Windows 7 in a 3 year old machine, it installed successfully, took all drivers and running great, but what happens is every 5-6 minutes it freezes for few seconds... 30 seconds to 1 minute and then comes back alive. I checked Event Viewer, nothing matching the frozen timeline. I would appriciate any help on how to detect causing service/hardware. After it comes alive, everything runs normal, I did run task manager and checked cpu usage, at time it freezes just before and after that no task took more cpu or memory, it was like idle machine. No external usb drives or no devices, on board intel desktop board with SATA HDD, SATA hdd running in absolute good mode.

  • How to make TimeMachine back up contents of any path or mounted volume

    I keep different types of data in different encrypted sparsebundle images (say, one for each client) which automatically mount upon login but can't be opened by anybody other than myself. So, after login I have a number of virtual volumes in /Volumes/ which keeps my client data both secure and organized. How do I include data inside these virtual Volumes in TimeMachine's backups, or data residing in any path on any partition/volume? I found a promising solution description at blog.eurocomp.info involving editing the com.apple.TimeMachine.plist but all I can get TimeMachine to do is backing up the sparsebundle files themselves. I want it to back up the files inside the mounted image, though - something like adding /Volumes/Client_abc/ to TimeMachine's search path. Please do not redirect my to this previous question as it doesn't solve the problem at all. Please also refrain from telling me why you think I should not want this answer as that will not solve anything either. Please lastly don't say "it can't be done" unless you can technically prove that claim.

    Has anyone had any issues with logrotate before that causes a log file to get rotated and then go back to the same size it originally was?     I need some advice on what kind of pattern(s) I should use for pushing/pulling data into my application. I'm writing a rule-engine that needs to hold quite a large amount of data in-memory in order to be efficient enough. I have some rather conflicting requirements; It is not acceptable for the engine to always have to wait for a full pre-load of all data before it is functional. Only fetching and caching data on-demand will lead to the engine taking too long before it is running quickly enough. An external event can trigger the need for specific parts of the data to be reloaded. Basically, I think I need a combination of pushing and pulling data into the application.   • Input not supported message when monitor is powered off then back on

    I've been getting a message on my monitor where "Input not supported" is floating around. This only happens when I manually turn the monitor off and then later turn it back on. Leaving the monitor on and allowing it to go to the screen saver doesn't seem to cause the issue (but I prefer to turn the monitor off if I'm going to be away from the computer for any length of time). Any ideas what might cause this, only when the monitor is turned off manually?     I have an application I am creating with a DashboardActivity & a SettingsActivity. On the dashboard, I have one object displayed, but when I go into settings, I want to be able to select/deselect X options. Once the user clicks the back button, I save that data locally and to the server. Once the phone receives a success message from the server that it was stored properly, I want to reload the dashboard. I thought I would do this with the onPause and onResume, but they are called when the DashboardActivity is first created. What would be the best way to reload the dashboard by calling my web service after the settings were saved to the server? I am going to: 1) throw up a progress dialog box letting the user know it's being submitted to the server, and once a response is received, 2) go back to the previous activity and call the "refresh" webservice again. What's the best way to accomplish 1 & 2?
