• Impersonation on IIS 7.0 passes the machine credentials for Crystal Reports

  On a 32-bit Windows 2008 server running the Donor2 Application in the Classic .NET Managed Pipeline mode, configured for Windows Integrated Authentication and Impersonation, all of the .NET pages are passing the authenticated user’s credentials [DomainName\UserName]. This is the correct, expected behavior. The Crystal Reports pages, instead of passing the authenticated user’s credentials, are passing the IIS Server’s credentials [DomainName\MachineName$]. One of the very frustrating aspects of this situation is that I have another server which, as far as I can tell, is configured identically. That server, when loading Crystal Reports, is passing the authenticated user’s credentials [DomainName\UserName] as expected. I have obviously missed something, but I have no idea what it could be.

• Problems installing SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7 Pro

  I'm having no luck. I've tried installing SQL Server 2008 Express on my Windows 7 Pro box about 4 times now. Each time it installs the 'setup files required' then does nothing. All I can do is click the 'New ... or Add Features...' link to try starting again but get the same results each time. Any developers experienced this before?

  Hi all, I'm attempting to create a class with many parameters, using a Builder pattern rather than telescoping constructors. I'm doing this in the way described by Joshua Bloch's Effective Java, having private constructor on the enclosing class, and a public static Builder class. The Builder class ensures the object is in a consistent state before calling build(), at which point it delegates the construction of the enclosing object to the private constructor. Thus public class Foo { // Many variables private Foo(Builder b) { // Use all of b's variables to initialize self } public static final class Builder { public Builder(/* required variables */) { } public Builder var1(Var var) { // set it return this; } public Foo build() { return new Foo(this); } } } I then want to add type bounds to some of the variables, and thus need to parametrize the class definition. • Creating an OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 OpenDIrectory database with a specific domain in mind

  Mountain Lion Server has been one of the most infuriating things ever recently. Above and beyond tons of crashing I've been completely unable to do the following in a way that makes sense to both me and Apple. Name your server srv01.myoffice.domain.com Create an OpenDirectory database as a Master from scratch as dc=domain,dc=com I can rename my server temporarily (taking down vital services in the process due to the automagicliciousness) and create a new profile, however when I switch back to the original domain name the default search base for server related authentication magic is now dc=srv01,dc=myoffice,dc=domain,dc=com. I've tried everything I can think of including using slapconfig backupdb/restoredb and slaving the server off of another then promoting it. This seems rather silly and Apple shows no response to many requests to resolve this. Does anybody out there have the magic to have OpenDirectory work as it should.. being able to give it any domain you want and then having all vital services operate correctly.

I have users complaining of very slow internetn connectivity on site and have checked with our ISP who have said that the line is testing at 8mb. We have 2 x BT lines that have our ISP broadand on them. Both lines go into a Cisco 2600 series router that then has a PIX firewall off that. Connectivity is successful just gone really slow and unable to download anything. • Revocation status of DC can't be verified

  A Domain Controller within my forest was working fine (as the story usually goes). Then, suddenly, I can't logon with my smart card. Instead, I'm greeted with the following message: The system could not log you on. The revocation status of the domain controller certificate used for smart card authentication could not be determined. I literally have no idea what's happened here. As an attempted quick fix, I removed the root certificate which issued the Smart Card's certificate from the CA of both the client and DC. Then imported a newly exported one from the DC in question. Same issue. I've spotted a number of related articles on Microsoft's forums and a HP support document. Each don't really shed much light as it's a generic error message apparently. Having said all of this, other smart cards (issued from other DCs) work fine. So I have no idea what's up with this one.

  I'm currently implementing xVal client-side validation. The server-side validation is working correctly at the moment. I have referenced xVall.dll (from xVal1.0.zip) in my project as well as the System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations and System.web.mvc.DataAnnotations from the Data Annotations Model Binder Sample found at http://aspnet.codeplex.com/releases/view/24471. I have modified the method BindProperty in the DataAnnotationsModelBinder class since it returned a nullpointer exception telling me the modelState object was null. Some blogposts described to modify the method and I did according to this SO post. I referenced using Visual Studio - add reference -- browse - selected from my bin dir where I stored the external compiled dlls (copied to the bin dir of my project). But if I call ./apiscanner ~/Desktop/MyPath/MyApp.app on terminal it reports Last login: Sun Jun 13 07:22:07 on ttys002 unknown required load command 0x80000022 Trace/BPT trap logout Even if I copy the files apiscanner and doit to MyPath, then execute, I get the same problem. • What Is The Best Database For Delphi Desktop Applications That Supports Stored Procedures?

  I started with Turbo Pascal 3, went to TP5, Bought TP6 called Borland the next day and downgraded to TP5.5. Bought Delphi 3, and now have Delphi 5 Enterprise. I sort of lost interest in writing code about 4-5 years ago for two reasons; Spent all day writing ASP & SQL for someone else. PC Techniques magazine went away. I've got a few programs in the shareware market that are solid performers but are in need of serious updating. I love Delphi or did when it was Borland (before Borland bought DBase and all the other crap), I'd like to salvage as much of my D5E code as possible but I doubt I can. I plan on upgrading to Delphi 2010. My next software release needs to interact with a database. I'm very proficient with MS Sql and like to put all of the database code in stored procedures. What is the best database choice that interacts well with Delphi, allows stored procedures and is so easy to deploy that even the Geico gecko could deploy it? 10/25/2009 18:53 PM EST Re-Opened After Reading Install Docs for Delphi 2010 I downloaded a trial version of Delphi 2010 and unzipped the install. I've been reading the install docs included in the package. MSSQL driver requires the installation of the SQL Native Client. SQL Native Client 2008 is required for dbxmss.dll. SQL Native Client 2005 is required for dbxmss9.dll I checked my machine to see if SQL Native Client is installed. Nope. I wasn't done reading the docs so I made a note to install SQL Native Client. I googled dbxmss.dll and dbxmss9.dll and found a very interesting thread on the Embarcadero forums. read thread here. After reading this thread and some careful thought I don't think I will be using Microsoft SQL Express. I can't rely on my customers having the right drivers installed. So, I'm back to looking for a different solution. If I'm selling a $40 product to the general masses I need to have a bulletproof solution that doesn't require my brand new customer to update their machine before my software will work.

  If i define a few gems in my config/environments/test.rb file like this: config.gem "rspec" config.gem "rspec-rails" config.gem "mocha" and then run 'rake gems:install RAILS_ENV=test' I get the following error: Missing these required gems: mocha Run rake gems:install to install the missing gems. however if I run rake gems:install like it says it will continue to recurse like this forever. How do I actually get the gems to install using rake (not gem install)? thanks!

If these errors have to removed can someone please suggest the way to do so also.

  I am using HAProxy on EC2 and using httpchk to manage node availability. I had used a pseudo-unique path as the health check route in an attempt to make sure only my servers responded to the health check. Earlier today I had an EC2 server fall out of existence, and before the haproxy config was auto-regenerated (controller issues), Amazon had reassigned the IP to someone whom 200's every request (honeypot?), my HAProxy host then pulled the server back into rotation and started distributing some of my traffic there until the controller recovered and removed the ip from the list. TLDR; Is there a way to add a server authentication method to HAProxy's httpchk?

• ForwardAgent in Jenkins

  I'm trying to enable ForwardAgent in the "Publish over SSH" Jenkins Plugin. This would allow jenkins to execute deployments, rsyncs and svn+ssh checkouts on remote servers. But there's no option for this in the GUI. ForwardAgent is set to yes in /etc/ssh/ssh_config and in /var/lib/jenkins/.ssh/config, but when Jenkins jobs login over ssh, the remote session does not have the key loaded in agent. ("Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.") Is there a way to force ForwardAgent, or a better way to do this (via a Jenkins slave)? Thanks for any ideas, much appreciated!

  Super stumped by why Postgres isn't working on a new app I just started. I've got it working for one app already. I'm using postgres.app, and it's running. I started a new app with rails new depot -d postgresql and then I went into the database.yml file and changed username to my $USER (which is what it is for the other app, which is working).
