  • Requiring 802.1x login before allowing access to network resources

    I have a ZyXel GS2200-24 managed switch, and a free-radius server running on Ubuntu 11.10. Radius is configured and when I log into the switch the authentication goes through Radius. Now, I'm trying to ensure that access to web resources (as an example, I set up a web server on the ip 192.168.1.2) requires first authenticating with radius, before the switch will allow the connection. Am I correct that this should be handled at the switch level? What are these rules usually called / how are they usually defined?

  • OpenVPN on ec2 bridged mode connects but no Ping, DNS or forwarding

    I am trying to use OpenVPN to access the internet over a secure connection. I have openVPN configured and running on Amazon EC2 in bridge mode with client certs.     I'd like to map Foo[,] to Foo[][] and back. There are simple solutions using loops, but isn't there something more elegant?     I'm looking for a way to connect to a MS Access 2007 database from Java. I don't believe the ODBC way is available to me as I'm writing on a mac and will be pushing this product to Linux. The HXTT drivers also do not work with 2007. Is there a way, a tutorial, an example, etc that accomplishes this? Setting the connection as a JNDI Datasource is preferable but not required

  • How to enable key forwarding with ssh-agent?

    I've used the ssh-agent from oh-my-zsh to manage my SSH key. So far, so good, i only have to type the passphrase for my private key once when I start my shell and public key authentication works great. The problem is however that key forwarding doesn't work. There are 2 servers A & B which I can use public key to login. When I ssh into A then from there ssh into B, I must provide my password, which should not be the case. A is a CentOS 5.6 box, B is an Ubuntu 11.04 box. I have this on my local .ssh/config: Host * ForwardAgent yes OpenSSH on A is standard openssh 4.3 package provided by CentOS. I also enable ForwardAgent for ssh client on A, but forwarding still doesn't work.

    I have several dialogs in the application. I want to pop up help related box when user clicks on the help button next to Main Heading. The help box is activated by selecting the small blue icon next to the heading. When the help box appears it has the information that is required to understand the entry related to the dialog. This help box automatically disappears when user clicks any where other then the help box. Please help!!

    Anybody know how to determine what DLL's a binary depends on using programmatic methods? To be clear, I am not trying to determine the DLL dependencies of the running exec, but of any arbitrary exec (that may be missing a required DLL). I'm looking for a solution to implement in a C/C++ application. This is something that needs to be done by my application at runtime and can't be done by a third party app (like depends).   • Continuing permissions issues - ASP.net, IIS 7, Server 2008 - 0x80070005 (http 500.19) error

    I created an ASP.net MVC developed web application and I am trying to set up IIS. The Error: Http error 500.19, error code 0x80070005, Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions, config file: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\BudgetManagerMain\BudgetManager\web.config If I set the AppPool to use 'administrator' i have no problems and can access the site just fine. If i set to NETWORK SERVICE (or anything else including self-created admin or non-admin user accounts), i get the above error. Things I have tried: identity for Application pool named 'test' is 'NetworkService' Set full access privs for wwwroot and all children files/folders verified effective permissions and NETWORK SERVICE has full access. How do I send notifications to users so they show up in the Notifications globe icon tab on the top left of a user's Facebook page? Some applications I use have their notifications show up there, but I don't see how that mechanism works in Facebook's API docs. Neither are there any permissions which seem to be required to send users notifications.

    Hi, I recently signed up to a new hosted email provider. When I send mail (from OWA, OR Outlook) there is a delay of up to 3 minutes from when i send the message, to when it's received (in my gmail account for example) I've listed the headers below. Is there anything I can advise my new email host to do? My previous email host delivers within 5 seconds!!     I have a 128-bit unsigned integer A and a 64-bit unsigned integer B. What's the fastest way to calculate A % B - that is the (64-bit) remainder from dividing A by B? I'm looking to do this in either C or assembly language, but I need to target the 32-bit x86 platform. This unfortunately means that I cannot take advantage of compiler support for 128-bit integers, nor of the x64 architecture's ability to perform the required operation in a single instruction.

  • Why doesn't update-manager allow me to upgrade distribution?

    I have an Ubuntu 9.04 PC behind a corporate firewall and proxy server. This requires that in order to get update-manager to fetch and apply updates, I must set the proxy and authentication settings in the Synaptic network configuration. Once done, I can check for updates and things work smoothly (except I don't get popup notifications of new updates, must manually check periodically). However, distribution updates just don't show up in update-manager, such as the newly released 9.10 Karmic Koala. I had the same issue in upgrading 8.10 to 9.04 and solved it by downloading and upgrading from the 9.04 ISO. What do I need to do to upgrade to 9.10 using the standard update-manager UI?

  • Forcing the from address when postfix relays over smtp

    I'm trying to get email reports from our AWS EC2 instances. We're using Exchange Online (part of Microsoft Online Services). I've setup a user account specifically for SMTP relaying, and I've setup Postfix to meet all the requirements to relay messages through this server. However, Exchange Online's SMTP server will reject messages unless the From address exactly matches the authentication address (the error message is 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender). With careful configuration, I can setup my services to send as this user. But I'm not a huge fan of being careful - I'd rather have postfix force the issue. Is there a way to do this?

  • Is this a common/bug on this PPPoE setting for Cisco ASA 5505?

    We have to change the way the firewall setup due to we've changed the internet provider. The way we setup we have ADSL modem and we have to do a full bridge mode and the firewall configuration has to change from Static IP to Use PPPoE option on Outside interface with PPPoE username and password, CHAP authentication, WAN IP and WAN subnet mask. [See the attachment] It's been working ok with the use of PPPoE option however the issue is that if we un-plug the power cable of the firewall. This "Outside" interface turned to blank - NO WAN IP, PPPoE username and password. So basically, we have to retype this information again. Is this common or a bug? Any ideas? Thanks
