  • How to return a value into webpage

    Hello: I have a simple webpage that displays the credit balance for calling cards. So far without any problems, with HTML, PHP and mysql, I was able to retrieve the balance from a data base. But I have to display the result in ANOTHER PAGE, wich looks akward because the page must reload. Can I just load this value into a pre-drawed field under the input fields that collect the data from the customer? Such as : Account Number: 134556 PIN: * |send| Balance is: $12.36 Thanks in advanced

    So I am trying to read an XML file into a string in Perl and send it as part of a SOAP message. I know this is not ideal as there are methods for SOAP sending files, however, I am limited to having to use the SOAP that is set up, and it is not set up for sending with file support. Therefore I need to parse out the markup tags < and replace them with []. What is the best way to do this?

Now, whenever a user types a message and presses the send button, the message's edit text field sets a glossy green background, also the green colored background comes floating at the back of the edit text field.     I have two buttons which call the same function. That functions signature is - (IBAction)eraseTextField {...} I would like to figure out what button called the function. So I would like for the functions signature to be something like - (IBAction)eraseTextField: (id)sender {...}. Is there a way for the system to know to send the id of the calling object to a function that it calls? Thanks for the help.

Suppose I have about 1000 bytes I need to send over the network rapidly, is it better to encrypt 50 bytes of data 20 times, or 1000 bytes at once? Which will be faster?     I am creating a bluetooth application. I created a simple midlet with a exit command and i create a thread for finding the service and discovering the device. While doing so it displays a animated screen on which i added the parent commandListener for exit command. After successful connection both user is represented with greetings(Current screen calls the parent Display method setCurrent for displaying itself). This screen also have CommandListener set to the parent. Now i want to add few more commands. I Implemented the CommandLIstener Interface in this class, added few commands but the commands are not working. I dont whats wen wrong.   • is there a way to run a command before puppet implements a change?

    I want to have puppet run a specific command before performing any type of change. I am aware of the prerun_command option in the main puppet.conf, but this is not what I'm looking for. I want the command to only run if something is about to change, not on every puppet run. Here's the scenario. Let's say I have a bunch of web servers behind a load balancer. I then want puppet to update the web site files. But in order to prevent issues where some files have been updated, but other files haven't, and the mixed versions causing problems, I want to take the server out of the load balancer pool. I could write a script which when run will tell the load balancer to remove the box from the pool. Then puppet can do the change, and use postrun_command to put the box back in the pool once complete. But I need a way to run that script to remove the server from the pool. The only solution I can think of is to keep 2 copies of the files on the box. One a staging copy, and when puppet updates that, use a notify action to trigger the removal script, and then copy from staging into the live location. But I was hoping for something a little more generic that would work on any change being performed (upgrading a package, restarting a service, creating a user, anything).
