  • Rails and Python hosting problem

    I am trying to host some files/rails app in the port 8080 for external access. For python I am using the SimpleHTTPServer module, and for rails, webrick. However, both of them does not work very well. I don't get the response back, and, sometimes, if I get it, it's VERY slow. Nevertheless, apache works very well on the port 8080 (i am not running them at the same time). What is going on?

    Hi, I recently contacted a web host regarding support for external database access to a Microsoft SQL Server database included in a package they offer. They replied saying that it is only possible with an SSH-tunnel. Is it possible to connect to a SQL Server database in Visual Studio using an SSH-tunnel? It is important for me to be able to access the database from my local machine (for debugging, generating LINQ classes, editing tables, etc). Or, how should I go about working with their database?

  • Are there any scripts to synchronize sites?

    I've just set up a fail-over DNS to switch the site to a second host if the first is down. This is great for showing an old / archived version of the site, but I suspect maintenance is going to be a real pain. I moved the files over with rsync in the first place. Is this the kinda thing that could be run as a cron job, automatically moving over newer files?

    I have moved my Opencart website to a new host, and I receive the error: Notice: Error: Could not load language total/sub_total! in .../vqmod/vqcache/vq2-system_library_language.php on line 41 How do I resolve this? I have tried renaming vqmod/xml to vqmod/xml.bad, with no result. I have tried renaming /vqmod/vqcache to /vqmod/vqcache.bad, with no result. Update: In \system\library\language.php, I commented out an else branch which resulted in an application exit.

  • Most efficient way to move a few SQL Server tables to SQLite?

    I have a fairly large SQL Server database; I'd like to pull 4 tables out and dump them directly into an sqlite.db for remote querying (via nightly batch). I was about to write a script to step through(most likely on a unix host kicked off via cron); but there should be a simpler method to export the tables directly (SQLite not an option in the included DTS Import/Export wizard) What would the most efficient method of dumping the SQL Server tables to SQLite via batch be?

    I don't know the best way to title this question but am trying to accomplish the following goal: When a client logs into their profile, they are presented with a link to download data from an existing database in CSV format. The process works, however, I would like for this data to be 'fresh' each time they click the link so my plan was - once a user has clicked the link and downloaded the CSV file, the database table would 'erase' all of its data and start fresh (be empty) until the next set of data populated it.     I have a HP Server with SmartArray P400 controller (incl. 256 MB Cache/Battery Backup) with a logicaldrive with replaced failed physicaldrive that does not rebuild. I first tried to add the unassigned drive 2I:1:8 as a spare to logicaldrive 2, but this was not possible: ~# /usr/sbin/hpacucli ctrl slot=0 array B add spares=2I:1:8 Error: This operation is not supported with the current configuration. Use the "show" command on devices to show additional details about the configuration. ~# Interestingly it is possible to add the unassigned drive to the first array without problems. I thought maybe the controller put the array into "failed" state due to the missing spare and protects failed arrays from modification. So I tried was to reenable the logicaldrive (to add the spare afterwards): ~# /usr/sbin/hpacucli ctrl slot=0 ld 2 modify reenable Warning: Any previously existing data on the logical drive may not be valid or recoverable. Continue? (y/n) y Error: This operation is not supported with the current configuration. Use the "show" command on devices to show additional details about the configuration. ~# But as you can see, re-enabling the logicaldrive this was not possible. Now I replaced the failed drive by hotswapping it with the unassigned drive.     I have a home and work computer, the home computer has a static IP address. If I ssh from my work computer to my home computer, the ssh connection works but X11 applications are not displayed.     I have a basic chat app written in node.js using express and socket.io; it works fine when connecting directly to node on port 3000 But doesn't work when I try to use nginx v1.4.2 as a proxy. The error log does not show any errors. (except when I stop node to test the error logging is working) When through nginx I do see a websocket connection in the dev tools, with the status of 101; but the frames tab under the resuects is empty.
