  I have a 3 column layout using table-less design. <div id="main"> <div id="left"></div> <div id="content"></div> <div id="right"></div> </div> The CSS: #left {width: 200px;float:left;display:inline;} #content {width: 600px;float:left;display:inline;padding: 0 10px;} #right {width: 160px;float:left;display:inline;} I am using a web application, and I can't change the layout. By can't change, I mean the div's with left/content/right cannot be removed. On some pages, both the left and right columns are completely empty. And I want the #content div to expand more than the 600px. is this possible, without altering the HTML? What are my options? Thanks allot!

  Hello, I'm looking for Javascript code for letting the user draw a line (on an image). Just as the line tool in Photoshop (for example): The user clicks on the image, drags the mouse (while the line between the start point and the mouse point is dynamically drawn on mouse drag). I would also need a callable function to send the page the start and end coordinates. I've found this very nice script for area selection: http://www.defusion.org.uk/code/javascript-image-cropper-ui-using-prototype-scriptaculous/ and I've found many script for drawing lines (and other shapes in JS), but could not find what I'm looking for. • Adapting existing HTML/Javascript model to Titanium's latest release (v 0.9)

  In pre-0.9 versions of Titanium, one could simply specify an .html file (local or remote) in the tiapp.xml file and interact with it in the same manner as one would on a website. As of version 0.9, that is no the longer case. One creates their entire app dynamically. Unfortunately, this broke my previous implementation and, other than an updated Kitchen Sink, much of the new model and API calls are not covered in the documentation (e.g., createLabel). So, my question is this... What are the simplest steps for re-creating the previous effect (knowingly forgoing some of the advantages of the Titanium's latest approach if necessary)? My previous implementation was exactly as it functions on the website. The website has a single index.html file with no content other than links to JavaScript and style files. The document body's onload event called the first JavaScript function (located in the main script) and, from that point forth, the entire content was dynamically created. How can I set up the latest version of Titanium so that I am poised to do the exact same thing? BTW: Whereas I previously had the choice to keep the files local or remote, I don't believe that remote access (e.g., simply using the webView widget to point to the website) is viable. That's because pages displayed via the webView do not have access to most of the API. Since the iPhone and Safari browsers do not support the file input type, the only means for uploading files (something my app requires) is calling Titanium's function. Thanks in advance.

• Dynamic DateTimeRangeValidator using Enterprise Library 4.1?

  I'm trying to add a range of - 365 days and + 365 days but it appears that using this attribute in EL 4.1 only accepts a special ISO formatted string ... thus I can't simply add a normal string to this validation routine. <DateTimeRangeValidator(DateTime.Now.AddDays(2), DateTime.Now.AddDays(4))> _ I wanted to do something similar to the above - fyi Does anyone know how you can force this attribute to accept this ISO formatted string w/out hand coding this value?

• PyGTK: dynamic label wrapping

  It's a known bug/issue that a label in GTK will not dynamically resize when the parent changes. It's one of those really annoying small details, and I want to hack around it if possible. I followed the approach at 16 software, but as per the disclaimer you cannot then resize it smaller. So I attempted a trick mentioned in one of the comments (the set_size_request call in the signal callback), but this results in some sort of infinite loop (try it and see). Does anyone have any other ideas? (You can't block the signal just for the duration of the call, since as the print statements seem to indicate, the problem starts after the function is left.) The code is below. You can see what I mean if you run it and try to resize the window larger and then smaller. (If you want to see the original problem, comment out the line after "Connect to the size-allocate signal", run it, and resize the window bigger.) Depending upon the server, i want to fire the log. In case of Development server, it would fire log from "emailDevelopment". I have a system variable in each server named "ApplicationEnvironment" whose value is Development, Beta, Production based on the server names.   I have a client whose desire is to have her Wordpress blog show a MailChimp form on her home page as a gateway to a .pdf. I need the following behavior to occur when the user clicks "Submit": execute the included MailChimp's javascript file; this ensures the form was properly filled, and then performs the sign-up to the newsletter list (don't need help with this part) then show the user an informational PDF for download or viewing EDIT: The logical order was flipped from when I originally posted this. The script should execute, and only if the script gets executed properly should the PDF show to the user Note: My experience level with HTML and PHP is 3/4, and with JS I am 2/4 EDIT: (seems more like 1/4 at this point lol). If my research is correct, PHP (server-side language) would be used to do that which the client wants. Additional validation is not necessary beyond what MailChimp's script provides (it ensures that user has submitted a completed form) is not necessary in this case (the client says it's ok if the e-mail isn't valid at all). This map is similar to the one that can be sent to the .css() method, except that the range of properties is more restrictive. So, why does this work $('#con div').css( { top : function(i) { console.log(i); return (i * 500) + 'px'; } } ); and this doesn't? $('#con div').animate( { top : function(i) { console.log(i); return (i * 500) + 'px'; } } ); The console shows that the function is being evaluated for css, but not for animate. Am I missing something? By the way, I'm using 1.4.2.

• Flash CS5 and dynamic textfields

  I have a "shell" that started life in Flash CS3 (Flash 9, AS3) that has been since used with CS4 and now CS5. It creates TextFields in ActionScript for display (reading the content of those fields from XML). The text fields are either Myriad Pro Regular or Myriad Pro Semibold, both are embedded in the SWF from the Library (any given text field will only use one of those fonts) and using Advanced anti-aliasing. Once a FLA goes into CS5 is still has the same problem when saved back into CS4. The problem is the spacing between letters are now quite random, and the width of each text field is too wide (by about 10%). Changing the letterSpacing property (to something negative) makes this more noticeable. I read on here about Font.registerFont(MyriadPro) but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Does anyone know how to make CS5 behave like previous versions of Flash? I'm using Flash Professional on Snow Leopard (as part of CS5 Web Premium).

• Issue with IHttpHandler and relative URLs

  Hi, I've developed a IHttpHandler class and I've configured it as verb="*" path="*", so I'm handling all the request with it in an attempt of create my own REST implementation for a test web site that generates the html dynamically. So, when a request for a .css file arrives, I've to do something like context.Response.WriteFile(Server.MapPath(url)) ... same for pictures and so on, I have to response everything myself. My main issue, is when I put relative URLs in the anchors; for example, I have main page with a link like this <a href="page1">Go to Page 1</a> , and in Page 1 I have another link <a href="page2">Go to Page 2</a>. Page 1 and 2 are supposed to be at the same level (http://host/page1 and http://host/page2, but when I click in Go to Page 2, I got this url in the handler: ~/page1/~/page2 ... what is a pain, because I have to do an url = url.SubString(url.LastIndexOf('~')) for clean it, although I feel that there is nothing wrong and this behavior is totally normal. Right now, I can cope with it, but I think that in the future this is gonna bring me some headache. I've tried to set all the links with absolute URLs using the information of context.Request.Url, but it's also a pain :D, so I'd like to know if there is a nicer way to do these kind of things. Don't hesitate in giving me pretty obvious responses because I'm pretty new in web development and probably I'm skipping something basic about URLs, Http and so on.   Hello, I am using an autocomplete widget, and would like a dialog to show when an item is selected. The dialog does show up, but I want a field in the dialog to receive focus when it opens. • Dynamic function docstring

  I'd like to write a python function that has a dynamically created docstring. In essence for a function func() I want func.__doc__ to be a descriptor that calls a custom __get__ function create the docstring on request. Then help(func) should return the dynamically generated docstring. The context here is to write a python package wrapping a large number of command line tools in an existing analysis package. Each tool becomes a similarly named module function (created via function factory and inserted into the module namespace), with the function documentation and interface arguments dynamically generated via the analysis package.

• How to add a dynamic library to Android?

  I want to add a non-native shared library to Android so every application on the device would be able to use it. I mean using packaged classes just like a core library as if they were present in the application itself. I studied Android source code to figure out a way to add a new path to the application ClassLoader and found out that it is created during startup and there's no way to change the paths later. I can use my own ClassLoader, but all I will get after loading a class will be a reference to a Class object. This way I will be bound to work through reflection mechanism, which is slower than the native execution system. Is there any way to organise a shared library on Android?

I need to understand the working of this particular program, It seems to be quite complicated, could you please see if you could help me understanding what this program in Perl does, I am a beginner so I hardly can understand whats happening in the code given on the following link below, Any kind of guidance or insights wrt this program is highly appreciated.
