  • Sending mail php

    - by user195257
    Hey, no idea why this sint working, but the message is being sent as "0". I think the e-mail form is what is causing it <?php if ($_POST['check'] == 'checked'){ header("location: /nospamplease.html"); exit(); } $name = $_POST['name']; $email = $_POST['email']; $phone = $_POST['phone']; $date = $_POST['date']; $children = $_POST['children']; $hot = $_POST['hot']; $comments = $_POST['comments']; /*echo $name; echo $email; echo $phone; echo $date; echo $children; echo $hot; echo $comments;*/ if($name == "" || $email == "" || $phone == "" || $date == "" || $children == "" || $hot == "" || $comments == ""){ echo "Please ensure all fields were filled out!"; exit(); }else{ $to = "######"; $subject = "Birthday enquiry"; $message = $message + "Name: "+$name; $message = $message + "Email: "+$email; $message = $message + "Phone: "+$phone; $message = $message + "Date: "+$date; $message = $message + "Children: "+$children; $message = $message + "Hot or cold: "+$hot; $message = $message + "Comments: "+$comments; //echo $message; if(mail($to, $subject, $message)){ echo "Thank you for your enquiry, we will contact you within the next 24 hours! <br /> Click <a href='###'> here</a> to go back to the website!"; }else{ echo "There was an error, contact us directly: <a href='mailto:##'>email</a>"; } } ?> I echoed out the variables, they all are getting posted fine Thanks guys

  • Lightweight development web server with support for PHP v2

    - by David
    In line with this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/171655/lightweight-web-app-server-for-php The above question has been asked numerous times and answered exactly the same in all the cases I've found using google. My question is similar to a degree but with a different desired goal: On demand development instances. I have come up with a somewhat questionable solution to host arbitrary directories in my user account for the purpose of development testing. I am not interested in custom vhosts but looking to emulate the behaviour I get when using paster or mongrel for Python & Ruby respectively. Ubuntu 9.10 TOXIC@~/ APACHE_RUN_USER=$USER APACHE_RUN_GROUP=www-data apache2 -d ~/Desktop/ -c "Listen 2990" Is there a better solution, could I do something similar with nginix or lighttpd? Note: The above won't work correctly for stock environments without a copied & altered httpd.conf. Update: The ideal goal is to mimic Paster, Webbrick, and Mongrel for rapid local development hosting. For those light weight servers, it takes less then a minute to get a working instance running ( not factoring any DB support ). Apache2 vhost is great but I've been using Apache2 for over ten years and it would be some sort of abomination hack to setup a new entry in /etc/hosts unless you have your own DNS, in which case a wildcard subdomain setup would probably work great. EXCEPT one more problem, it's pretty easy for me to know what is being hosted ( ex. by paster or mongeral ) just doing a sudo netstat -tulpn while there would be a good possibility of confusion in figure out which vhost is what.

  • PHP Regex to remove nested form elements but not input elements

    - by that0n3guy
    I'm modifying a PHP script that I have and it is currently outputting a nested form. Something like: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <p>stuff here here, this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> <div>stuff here possibilly</div> Username: <input type="text" name="user" /> <input type="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> <p>otherstuff this may or may not be in a div, script, etc..</p> </form> Nested form's are a no-no (IE hates them and basically causes the form to stop working), so I need to remove the nested form lines, but not the form items. I need to remove the nested: <form name="input" action="html_form_action.asp" method="get"> and </form> but not the outer <form and </form> or the input or submit stuff. Is this possible to do with regex? Note, the reason I just want to regex out the form rather than find the problem is because I know it will take some significant re-working to get rid of the double form... the regex solution is quick for now.

  • PHP Streaming CSV always adds UTF-8 BOM

    - by Mustafa Ashurex
    The following code gets a 'report line' as an array and uses fputcsv to tranform it into CSV. Everything is working great except for the fact that regardless of the charset I use, it is putting a UTF-8 bom at the beginning of the file. This is exceptionally annoying because A) I am specifying iso and B) We have lots of users using tools that show the UTF-8 bom as characters of garbage. I have even tried writing the results to a string, stripping the UTF-8 BOM and then echo'ing it out and still get it. Is it possible that the issue resides with Apache? If I change the fopen to a local file it writes it just fine without the UTF-8 BOM. header("Content-type: text/csv; charset=iso-8859-1"); header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"report.csv\""); $outstream = fopen("php://output",'w'); for($i = 0; $i < $report-rowCount; $i++) { fputcsv($outstream, $report-getTaxMatrixLineValues($i), ',', '"'); } fclose($outstream); exit;

  • How to handle media kept on a separate server (PHP)

    - by Sandman
    So, I have three server, and the idea was to keep all media (images, files, movies) on a media server. I never got around to do it but I think I probably should. So these are the three servers: WWW server DB server Media server Visitors obviously connect to the WWW server and currently image resizing and cache:ing is done on the WWW servers as the original files are kept there. So the idea for me is for image functions I have, that does all the image compositioning, resizing and cahceing would just pie the command over to the media server that would return ther path to the finnished file. What I don't know is how to handle functions such as file_exists() and figuring out image dimensions when needed before even any image management comes into play. Do I pipe all these commands to the other server, via HTTP? I was thinking along the ways of doing it this way: function image(##ARGS##){ if ($GLOBALS["media_host"] != "localhost"){ list ($src, $width, height) = file('http://$GLOBALS[media_host]/imgfunc.php?args=##ARGS##'); return "<img src='$src' height and width >"; } .... do other stuff here } Am I approaching this the wrong way? Is there a better way to do this?

  • PHP readfile() and large downloads

    - by Nirmal
    While setting up an online file management system, and now I have hit a block. I am trying to push the file to the client using this modified version of readfile: function readfile_chunked($filename,$retbytes=true) { $chunksize = 1*(1024*1024); // how many bytes per chunk $buffer = ''; $cnt =0; // $handle = fopen($filename, 'rb'); $handle = fopen($filename, 'rb'); if ($handle === false) { return false; } while (!feof($handle)) { $buffer = fread($handle, $chunksize); echo $buffer; ob_flush(); flush(); if ($retbytes) { $cnt += strlen($buffer); } } $status = fclose($handle); if ($retbytes && $status) { return $cnt; // return num. bytes delivered like readfile() does. } return $status; } But when I try to download a 13 MB file, it's just breaking at 4 MB. What would be the issue here? It's definitely not the time limit of any kind because I am working on a local network and speed is not an issue. The memory limit in PHP is set to 300 MB. Thank you for any help.

  • Having trouble passing text from MySQL to a Javascript function using PHP

    - by Nathan Brady
    So here's the problem. I have data in a MySQL DB as text. The data is inserted via mysql_real_escape_string. I have no problem with the data being displayed to the user. At some point I want to pass this data into a javascript function called foo. // This is a PHP block of code // $someText is text retrieved from the database echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo('{$someText}')\">"; If the data in $someText has line breaks in it like: Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 The javascript breaks because the html output is <img src=someimage.gif onclick="foo('line1 line2 line3')"> So the question is, how can I pass $someText to my javascript foo function while preserving line breaks and carriage returns but not breaking the code? =========================================================================================== After using json like this: echo "<img src=someimage.gif onclick=\"foo($newData)\">"; It is outputting HTML like this: onclick="foo("line 1<br \/>\r\nline 2");"> Which displays the image followed by \r\nline 2");"

  • RSS feed created with PHP only shows the title in the feed reader

    - by James Simpson
    I am using the following PHP code to generate the XML for an RSS feed, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. No short description is displayed in the feed reader, all I see is the title of the article. Also, all of the articles say they were published at the same time. This is the first time I have tried to setup an RSS feed, so I'm sure I've made several stupid mistakes. $result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM blog ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 10"); $date = date(DATE_RFC822); header('Content-type: text/xml'); echo ("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n"); echo ("<rss version=\"2.0\">\n"); echo ("<channel>\n"); echo ("<lastBuildDate>$date</lastBuildDate>\n"); echo ("<pubDate>$date</pubDate>\n"); echo ("<title>my website name</title>\n"); echo ("<description><![CDATA[the description]]></description>\n"); echo ("<link>http://my-domain.com</link>\n"); echo ("<language>en</language>\n"); $ch=100; while ($a = mysql_fetch_array($result)) { $headline = htmlentities(stripslashes($a['subject'])); $posturl = $a[perm_link]; $content = $a['post']; $date = date(DATE_RFC822, $a['posted']); echo ("<item>\n"); echo ("<title>$headline</title>\n"); echo ("<link>$posturl</link>\n"); echo ("<description><![CDATA[$content]]></description>\n"); echo ("<guid isPermaLink=\"true\">$posturl</guid>\n"); echo ("<pubDate>$date2</pubDate>\n"); echo ("</item>\n"); } echo ("</channel>\n"); echo ("</rss>\n");

  • How to deserialize MXML with PHP?

    - by Ivan Petrushev
    Hello, I have an array structure that have to be converted to MXML. I know of PEAR XML_Serialize extension but it seems the output format it produces is a bit different. PHP generated XML: <zone columns="3"> <select column="1" /> <select column="4" /> </zone> MXML format: <mx:zone columns="3"> <mx:select column="1" /> <mx:select column="4" /> </mx:zone> Is that "mx:" prefix required for all the tags? If yes, can I make the XML_Serialize put it before each tag (without renaming my data structure fields to "mx:something")? Here are my options for XML_Serialize: $aOptions = array('addDecl' => true, 'indent' => " ", 'rootName' => 'template', 'scalarAsAttributes' => true, 'mode' => 'simplexml');

  • searching XML documents using php

    - by dbomb101
    I am trying to make a search function using the combination of DOM, PHP and XML. I got something up and running but the problem is that my search function will only accept exact terms, on top of this am wondering if the method I picked the most efficient $searchTerm = "Lupe"; $doc = new DOMDocument(); foreach (file('musicInformation.xml')as $node) { $xmlString .= trim($node); } $doc->loadXML($xmlString); $records = $doc->documentElement->childNodes; $records = $doc->getElementsByTagName("musicdetails"); foreach( $records as $record ) { $artistnames = $record->getElementsByTagName("artistname"); $artistname = $artistnames->item(0)->nodeValue; $recordnames = $record->getElementsByTagName("recordname"); $recordname = $recordnames->item(0)->nodeValue; $recordtypes = $record->getElementsByTagName("recrodtype"); $recordtype = $recordtypes->item(0)->nodeValue; $formats = $record->getElementsByTagName("format"); $format = $formats->item(0)->nodeValue; $prices = $record->getElementsByTagName("price"); $price = $prices->item(0)->nodeValue; if($searchTerm == $artistname|| $searchTerm == $recordname || $searchTerm == $recordtype ||$searchTerm == $format || $searchTerm == $price) { echo "$artistname - $recordname - $recordtype - $format -$price\n"; }

  • How to create a magic square in PHP?

    - by TerranRich
    I'd like to try my hand at creating a Magic Square in PHP (i.e. a grid of numbers that all add up to the same value), but I really don't know where to start. I know of the many methods that create magic square, such as starting "1" at a fixed position, then moving in a specific direction with each iteration. But that doesn't create a truly randomized Magic Square, which is what I'm aiming for. I want to be able to generate an N-by-N Magic Square of N² numbers where each row and column adds up to N(N²+1)/2 (e.g. a 5x5 square where all rows/columns add up to 65 — the diagonals don't matter). Can anybody provide a starting point? I don't want anybody to do the work for me, I just need to know how to start such a project? I know of one generator, written in Java (http://www.dr-mikes-math-games-for-kids.com/how-to-make-a-magic-square.html) but the last Java experience I had was over 10 years ago before I quickly abandoned it. Therefore, I don't really understand what the code is actually doing. I did notice, however, that when you generate a new square, it shows the numbers 1-25 (for a 5x5 square), in order, before quickly generating a fresh randomized square.

  • Is there a PHP library that performs MySQL Data Validation and Sanitization According to Column Type

    - by JW
    Do you know of any open source library or framework that can perform some basic validation and escaping functionality for a MySQL Db. i envisage something along the lines of: //give it something to perform the quote() quoteInto() methods $lib->setSanitizor($MyZend_DBAdaptor); //tell it structure of the table - colnames/coltypes/ etc $lib->setTableDescription($tableDescArray); //use it to validate and escape according to coltype foreach ($prospectiveData as $colName => $rawValue) if ( $lib->isValid($colName, $rawValue)) { //add it to the set clause $setValuesArray[$lib->escapeIdentifier($colName);] = $lib->getEscapedValue($colName,$rawValue); } else { throw new Exception($colName->getErrorMessage()); } etc... I have looked into - Zend_Db_Table (which knows about a table's description), and - Zend_Db_Adaptor (which knows how to escape/sanitize values depending on TYPE) but they do not automatically do any clever stuff during updates/inserts Anyone know of a good PHP library to preform this kind of validation that I could use rather than writing my own? i envisage alot of this kind of stuff: ... elseif (eregi('^INT|^INTEGER',$dataset_element_arr[col_type])) { $datatype='int'; if (eregi('unsigned',$dataset_element_arr[col_type])) { $int_max_val=4294967296; $int_min_val=0; } else { $int_max_val=2147483647; $int_min_val=-2147483648; } } (p.s I know eregi is deprecated - its just an example of laborious code)

  • Which PHP library I should choose to work with CouchDB?

    - by Guss
    I want to try playing with CouchDB for a new project I'm writing (as a hobby, not part of my job). I'm well versed in PHP, but I haven't programmed with CouchDB at all, and also I have little experience with non-SQL databases. From looking at CouchDB's "Getting Started with PHP" document they recommend using a third-party library or writing your own client using their RESTful HTTP API. I think I'd rather not mess with writing protocol implementations myself at this point, but what is your experience with writing PHP to work with CouchDB? I haven't tested any of the alternatives yet, but I looked at: PHPillow : I'm interested in the way they implement ORM. I wasn't planning to do ORM, but my problem domain probably map well to that method. PHP Object Freezer: seems like a poor man's ORM - I can use it to implement an actual ORM, or just as an easy store/retrieve document API but it seems too primitive. PHP-on-Couch : Also a bit simple, but they have an interesting API for views and from the documentation it looks usable enough. PHP CouchDB Extension : From the listed options this looks like it has the best chance of making it into the PHP mainline itself, and also has the most complete API. Any opinion one wish to share on each library is welcome.

  • Reading a CSV with file_get_contents in PHP

    - by JPro
    I am reading a 'kind' of csv file and exploding it and storing it in array. The file I am reading has this structure Id,Log,Res,File mydb('Test1','log1','Pass','lo1.txt'). mydb('Test2','log2','Pass','lo2.txt'). mydb('Test3','log3','Pass','lo3.txt'). Now what I am trying to do is : reading the last record in my database, get the Name, lets say in this case 'Test1' and then I am searching through my file and where I can find the position of 'Test1' and get the next lines in the file, extract the ID,s and add it to database. I am getting the position of desired string in the file, but I am not sure how to get the next lines too. Here's my code so far. <?php mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("testing") or die(mysql_error()); $result = mysql_query("select ID from table_1 order by S_no DESC limit 1") or die(mysql_error()); $row = mysql_fetch_array( $result ); $a = $row['ID']; echo 'Present Top Row is '.$a.'<br>'; $addresses = explode("\n", file_get_contents('\\\\fil1\\logs\\tes.pl')); foreach($addresses as $val) { $pos = strstr($val, $a); if ($pos === false) { } else { echo "The string <br> '$a' <br>was found in the string <br>'$val' <br>"; echo " and exists at position <br>$pos<br>"; } }

  • How to get this Qt state machine to work?

    - by Ton van den Heuvel
    I have two widgets that can be checked, and a numeric entry field that should contain a value greater than zero. Whenever both widgets have been checked, and the numeric entry field contains a value greater than zero, a button should be enabled. I am struggling with defining a proper state machine for this situation. So far I have the following: QStateMachine *machine = new QStateMachine(this); QState *buttonDisabled = new QState(QState::ParallelStates); buttonDisabled->assignProperty(ui_->button, "enabled", false); QState *a = new QState(buttonDisabled); QState *aUnchecked = new QState(a); QFinalState *aChecked = new QFinalState(a); aUnchecked->addTransition(wa, SIGNAL(checked()), aChecked); a->setInitialState(aUnchecked); QState *b = new QState(buttonDisabled); QState *bUnchecked = new QState(b); QFinalState *bChecked = new QFinalState(b); employeeUnchecked->addTransition(wb, SIGNAL(checked()), bChecked); b->setInitialState(bUnchecked); QState *weight = new QState(registerButtonDisabled); QState *weightZero = new QState(weight); QFinalState *weightGreaterThanZero = new QFinalState(weight); weightZero->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(validWeight()), weightGreaterThanZero); weight->setInitialState(weightZero); QState *buttonEnabled = new QState(); buttonEnabled->assignProperty(ui_->registerButton, "enabled", true); buttonDisabled->addTransition(buttonDisabled, SIGNAL(finished()), buttonEnabled); buttonEnabled->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(invalidWeight()), weightZero); machine->addState(registerButtonDisabled); machine->addState(registerButtonEnabled); machine->setInitialState(registerButtonDisabled); machine->start(); The problem here is that the following transition: buttonEnabled->addTransition(this, SIGNAL(invalidWeight()), weightZero); causes all the child states in the registerButtonDisabled state to be reverted to their initial state. This is unwanted behaviour, as I want the a and b states to remain in the same state. How do I prevent this?

  • using jquery growl with php/mysql

    - by jeansymolanza
    on my database i am planning to create a table storing messages to alert users of anything they need to do. i am looking at using a jQuery growl like notification method but im confused at how i would begin building it. the data would be added into the database using the standard MYSQL insert method from a form but how would i select messages from the database to display using the jQuery growl. would this require the use of ajax? this is the javascript code i have so far, i was wondering how i would implement the php code alongside it so that i can pull out data from my tables to display as notifications: <script type="text/javascript"> // In case you don't have firebug... if (!window.console || !console.firebug) { var names = ["log", "debug", "info", "warn", "error", "assert", "dir", "dirxml", "group", "groupEnd", "time", "timeEnd", "count", "trace", "profile", "profileEnd"]; window.console = {}; for (var i = 0; i < names.length; ++i) window.console[names[i]] = function() {}; } (function($){ $(document).ready(function(){ // This specifies how many messages can be pooled out at any given time. // If there are more notifications raised then the pool, the others are // placed into queue and rendered after the other have disapeared. $.jGrowl.defaults.pool = 5; var i = 1; var y = 1; setInterval( function() { if ( i < 3 ) { $.jGrowl("Message " + i, { sticky: true, log: function() { console.log("Creating message " + i + "..."); }, beforeOpen: function() { console.log("Rendering message " + y + "..."); y++; } }); } i++; } , 1000 ); }); })(jQuery); </script> <p> thanking you in advance and God bless

  • php $_FILES error code returning an unexpected error

    - by EmmyS
    I have some code that allows users to upload multiple files at once. It was never getting to a specific point after the upload, so I put in an echo to test for the value of the error code, and it's returning a value that I'm not sure I understand. Here's the code: $tmpTarget = PCBUG_UPLOADPATH; foreach ($_FILES["attachments"]["error"] as $key => $error) { if ($error == UPLOAD_ERR_OK) { $tmp_name = $_FILES["attachments"]["tmp_name"][$key]; $name = str_replace(" ", "_", $_FILES["attachments"]["name"][$key]); move_uploaded_file($tmp_name, "$tmpTarget/$name"); @unlink($_FILES["attachments"]["tmp_name"][$key]); } else { $errorFlag = true; echo "error = $error"; exit; } } The code that creates the attachments field looks like this: for($i=1; $i<=$max_no_img; $i++){ echo "<input type=file name='attachments[]' class='bginput'><br />"; } where $max_no_img is a variable set further up in the code, and PCBUG_UPLOAD path is a constant defined in an included file. Here's what's confusing: after I submit my form, I go and look in my uploads directory, and the files I've selected through the form are there - they uploaded correctly. However, the code is jumping into the else clause and $error is returning 4, which the php manual indicates means that no file was uploaded. Any ideas? The files very clearly are getting where they're supposed to. Is there some other definition of "uploaded" that isn't happening?

  • Make browser to go back by reloading page 1st and then scrolling it back again too

    - by Marco Demaio
    EXPLAINING WHAT I'M TRYING TO SOLVE: I have a webpage (file_list.php) showing a list of files, and next to each file there is a button to delete it. When user press the DELETE button close to a certain file name, the browser goes to a script called delete_file.php that deletes the file and then it tells browser to go back to the file_list.php delete_file.php uses a simple header("Location: file_list.php”); to go back to file_list.php When browser goes back to file_list.php it reloads the page, but it DOES NOT scroll it back again to where the user was before. So let's say the user scrolled the files list and deleted the last file, when the browser shows again the page file_list.php it won't be scrolled to the bottom of the page again. THE WORKAROUND I CAME OUT WITH: I found a strange way to work around this, basically instead of using header("Location: file_list.php”); in delete_file.php I simply use a javascript call window.history.go(-1). This workaround works perfectly when user is in session (simply using PHP session_start function): the browser RELOADS the file_list.php page and then scrolls it also bask to where it was before. But if the user is NOT in session the browser scrolls the page but IT DOES NOT RELOAD IT before, so the user would still see the file he deleted in the file list. THE QUESTIONS Do you know how to reproduce the behavior of the browser when goes back being in session even if we are not in session? Do you know a way out of this, even another way of solving this matter? Thanks! *I know I could use AJAX to delete the file so I would not have to go every time to delete_file.php, but this is not the answer*.
