• What to do with twitter oauth token once retreived?

  I'm writing a web app that will use twitter as its primary log on method. I've written code which gets the oauth token back from Twitter. My plan is now to Find the entry in my Users table for the twitter username retreived using the token, or create the entry if necessary Update the Users.TwitterOAuthToken column with the new OAuth token Create a permanent cookie with a random guid on the site and insert a record into my UserCookies table matching Cookie to User when a request comes in I will look for the browser cookie id in the UserCookies table, then use that to figure out the user, and make twitter requests on their behalf Write the oauth token into some pages as a js variable so that javascript can make requests on behalf of the user If the user clears his/her cookies the user will have to log in again to twitter Is this the correct process? Have I created any massive security holes? thanks!

• Unity has jerky motion when using Vector2.Lerp

  I made a 2D game with some sprite move to random position. I used Vector2.Lerp and Time.deltaTime to smooth transfer of sprite. When I build this game in iOS ( I used iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 for test ) all sprite made jerky motion and cause my game lagging. But in Android game run very smoothy. I used only 9 sprite and move all in same time. Can someone have any solution to fix this? Thanks. P/s: Sorry about my bad English.

• Controling CRT memory initialization

  Occasionally you meet bugs that are reproducible only in release builds and/or only on some machines. A common (but by no means only) reason is uninitialized variables, that are subject to random behaviour. E.g, an uninitialized BOOL can be TRUE most of the time, on most machines, but randomly be initialized as FALSE. What I wish I would have is a systematic way of flushing out such bugs by modifying the behaviour of the CRT memory initialization. I'm well aware of the MS debug CRT magic numbers - at the very least I'd like to have a trigger to turn 0xCDCDCDCD (the pattern that initializes freshly allocated memory) to zeros. I suspect one would be able to easily smoke out nasty initialization pests this way, even in debug builds. Am I missing an available CRT hook (API, registry key, whatever) that enables this? Anyone has other ideas to get there?

  I am looking for a way to convert a long string (from a dump), that represents hex values into a byte array. I couldn't have phrased it better than the person that posted the same question here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/Java/Q_21062554.html But to keep it original, I'll phrase it my own way: suppose I have a string "00A0BF" that I would like interpreted as the byte[] {0x00,0xA0,0xBf} what should I do? I am a Java novice and ended up using BigInteger and watching out for leading hex zeros. But I think it is ugly and I am sure I am missing something simple...

  First time using Asp.net-mvc and originally followed the NerdDinner tutorial. My form submit button looks like this: <p> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> I've now added another button to the page with jQuery code attached. It works in IE, but when I test in FireFox the form submits. I tried adding another button, this time with no attached jQuery code and the same thing happens. When the button is clicked, the form submits. <button id="random-button">Do Nothing</button> ??

  Hello, At my company we have recently done some tricky stuff with C++ and templates, making use of some features of the compiler. When working with this code people need to take a few setup steps otherwise they get some rather cryptic compiler errors, what I would like to do is determine if there is a way to tell the compiler to inject, and or swap out the message published for an error when compiling? so that I either get a friendly message that instructs the person in conjunction with the cryptic error or instead of the cryptic error. I have a simple pojo form object, the problem is that many properties will be taked from drop down lists that are populated from lookup entities, so I return the entity ID to the form object. public NewCarRequestForm { private makeId; // this are selected from a drop down. private modelId; } Should I just send this lookup entity ID to the service layer? or should I validated that this ID is correct (Somebody can send any random ID through the request) before and how? Now there is a problem if I want to validated something based on some property of the lookup entity. Do I perform a database lookup of the entity just to perform the validation? thanks.

What other such things exist? Tools or approaches or techniques that aren't obvious before you encounter them, but once seen have obvious value. Things that are likely so ingrained in the way you work that it's hard to think of working without them, things almost embarrassing to bring up because you expect the other person to say "duh, that's obvious!" No matter how petty something seems there is a chance that other people don't know about it yet; I'd like to get an idea on what things I'm missing simply because I never thought of them.

• Where does the data model go in a Prism app?

  I'm having trouble where to put our data model in our Prism app. Most, if not all or our data will be coming from web services and the web services are unique for each module. Unfortunately, there will be objects that need to be shared (such as a person/user object). I'm really torn about whether to add these services directly to the module, so that each is truly independent, or create a separate project to house the web service proxies and business entities. The modules are being built by different teams, but will all live in the same solution (and source control, of course).

• Can Visual Studio exclude certain folders when searching for header files?

  I'm having trouble with a library that we are using, which has two copies of header files that are needed - one which we are modifying and building from and another which is automatically created during the build process. I don't fully know why or really want to change this but it can cause a bit of annoyance when on random occasions the go to definition function takes you to the auto created header instead of the one used to build. Usually you can spot it but sometimes you don't and make changes to the auto created one, which are then overwritten or sometimes stay around for a while so that something works on your machine but breaks on other peoples. I don't know if there is any way around this as the auto created folder is in the additional include directories of some of the projects in the solution but I just thought I would ask if there was any good way of reducing the chance of this annoying situation cropping up.

  I'm trying to add random numbers onto the end of this array when ever I call this function. I've narrowed it down to just this so far. when ever I check to see if anything is in the array it says 0. So now i'm quite stumped. I'm thinking that MutableArray releases the contents of it before I ever get to use them. problem is I don't know what to use. A button calls the function and pretty much everything else is taken care of its just this portion inside the function. • String.Format in javascript?

  Hi this is driving me nuts. I believe I asked this exact same question but I can't find it anymore(I used stackoverflow search, google search, manually searched my posts, searched my code). I wanted something that would be like the C# String.Format where you could do something like string format = String.Format("Hi {0}",name); just for javascript of course and one person gave me a simple answer it was not like a jquery plugin or anything but I think you made some json thing or something and it worked and was simple to use.   I have a code: CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS Person ( name varchar(24) ... ) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_polish_ci; This works OK in my application, but I read if someone put in name field a string that contains character wchich code is greater than 127, database will use 2 bytes (or more) to store this character. So i think, i will change character set to utf16: CHARACTER SET utf16 COLLATE utf16_polish_ci; But now when I run my application, exception apears: KeyNotFoundException. It apears exactly at these instructions: MySqlCommand komenda = baza.Polaczenie.CreateCommand (); komenda.CommandText = zapytanie; MySqlDataReader dr = komenda.ExecuteReader (); // HERE, at execute reader method if (dr.Read ()) ... 1) Anyone had similar problem? 2) Any idea how to use always 2 bytes/char in database field?

  Is it faster to loop through a Python set of numbers or a Python set of letters given that each set is the exact same length and each item within each set is the same length? Why? I would think that there would be a difference because letters have more possible characters [a-zA-Z] than numbers [0-9] and therefor would be more 'random' and likely affect the hashing to some extent. numbers = set([00000,00001,00002,00003,00004,00005, ... 99999]) letters = set(['aaaaa','aaaab','aaaac','aaaad', ... 'aaabZZ']) # this is just an example, it does not actually end here for item in numbers: do_something() for item in letters: do_something() where len(numbers) == len(letters) Update: I am interested in Python's specific hashing algorithm and what happens behind the scenes with this implementation.

  My question is why does the address of an array differ from the address of its first position? I'm trying to write my own malloc, but to start out I'm just allocating a chunk of memory and playing around with the addresses. • ODBC - multiple connections from one app to the same data source

  I vaguely remember reading somewhere (in MSDN ODBC documentation?) that one application cannot make more than one connection to a single data source. It seemed to me that I need one connection that all the threads of the application will have to share. I was trying to look this information up, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know/remember how this works? It all might become a problem in our app, since some of its threads will dynamically connect to data sources of their choice. I don't want to see random connection errors if two of them will connect at the same time to one source, so I wanted to double check this info.

• Simple integer encryption

  Is there a simple algorithm to encrypt integers? That is, a function E(i,k) that accepts an n-bit integer and a key (of any type) and produces another, unrelated n-bit integer that, when fed into a second function D(i,k) (along with the key) produces the original integer? Obviously there are some simple reversible operations you can perform, but they all seem to produce clearly related outputs (e.g. consecutive inputs lead to consecutive outputs). Also, of course, there are cryptographically strong standard algorithms, but they don't produce small enough outputs (e.g. 32-bit). I know any 32-bit cryptography can be brute-forced, but I'm not looking for something cryptographically strong, just something that looks random. Theoretically speaking it should be possible; after all, I could just create a dictionary by randomly pairing every integer. But I was hoping for something a little less memory-intensive.
