  • Raspberry Pi can't see external hard drive

    My Raspberry Pi (Model B) can't see my external hard drive. It was working before without a problem, until I disconnected and reconnected the drive. It is a self-powered hard drive. When I put another image on a different SD card the Raspberry Pi can see the hard drive no problem, so there is some sort of configuration issue in the current image on the SD card. Any advice will be gratefully received.

  • Thinkpad Edge e320 thermal sensors description

    I have a quite specific question concerning description of thermal sensors of my notebbok Thinkpad Edge E320. I have a debian linux installed with lm_sensors package and running command sensors show eight different values without any description of course (temp1 through temp6). I would like to know which one is which (cpu, gpu, hdd, etc.) Using google I didn't find any specific material concerning this exact model. Coult someone point me in the right direction?   • I have 2 identical windows 2008 r2 servers with 32G RAM, one shows "Installed Memory(Ram): 32.0GB" a

    the server model: HP Poliant DL160 G5, both servers have identical product ID. for some reason one of the servers have 4GB ram reserved. it shows in the memory tab on the Resource monitor as "Hardware Reserved". I've googled it a bit and found some post related to msconfig boot parameters (but mine are properly set) and some post related to memory remap option in the bios but it is not available in my servers bios so in a bit lost... help?

    I'm looking for a desktop board that supports either VT-D (Intel) or IOMMU (AMD) technology. This is the IO virtualization technology, not VT-x for CPU virtualization. I've found a list of chipsets that are purported to have this, but every board I look at, the vendor has decided to not support that feature. I would really prefer a desktop board over a server board for this. Does anyone have a specific model that is known to support this technology?

  • How can I make my livebox route to my external IP address for a computer in the DMZ?

    I have a sagem livebox 2 (Fiber optic model), and have placed my computer in a DMZ. People from outside of my network can access my comp fine via its external dyndns.org address, yet when I try to call the public dyndns.org address from inside my network, I get redirected to the internal admin site on the router. How can I make it so that I can see my comp from the public address like everyone else? What kinds of questions should I be asking or looking into? Thanks

  • How can I make photo CDs from iPhoto

    I have a new Macbook, don't know the OS, but just got it--it's the cheaper model. I saved a lot of photos on iPhoto and can't figure out how to burn a CD. Tried the "share" function and when I choose a location to save the photos and hit burn, get an error message that says can't create in that location. Needs to be run on a pc or photo processing place.

I already tryied: reinstall wifi driver reboot disable/enable from windows and from bios check for latest driver both by Windows and Fukitsu driver update When i Use windows Network Diagnostic, I am getting recomendation "Turn on Wireless capability". There is no switch or keyboard combination for this laptop model (or I do not know any one). Any ideas?

The problem is that I cant seem to update this app on my phone via the ovi app; the 'download' link is disabled. Also tried the 'sw update' app, but it reports that all applications are up-to-date.   • Computer suddenly dies; screen displays weird flickering lines, then restarts

    I've been having this terrible problem for a little while and just managed to get a picture of 'dead screen' for the first time and I am posting it to seek help. Randomly, at irregular intervals (typically once a week), while working on something (it's been different things every time) my computer will just suddenly go dead - the screen turns to exactly the picture below (the lines flicker a little bit), it hangs there for a few seconds and then restarts. Obviously this is extremely frustrating and I want to try to stop it. I've searched numerous postings with similar keywords but nothing exactly the same as mine. Does anyone have any idea what might be the cause of this? I would post all my system settings and installed programs but the list is long and I don't know how much relevance each item would be.   • Some Memory Slots Not Working on MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 Motherboard

    Short version of question: Does anyone have an MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 motherboard, who can confirm that all four memory slots work? Long version: Several months ago I bought an MSI FM2-A85XA-G65 motherboard at Newegg. At that point I installed an AMD A8-5500 processor and two sticks of Corsair Vengeance 8 GB DDR3-1866 memory, and put it into my file server. I installed the RAM in slots 1 and 3, as directed in the manual, to enable dual-channel memory access. It seemed to work fine, so I bought a second identical mobo (which arrived dead, but was quickly replaced by Newegg) and set of RAM, installed an A10-5800K, and put that into my production Linux machine. Again, it seemed to work well. Eventually I happened to notice that on the server only 8 GB of RAM appeared in the BIOS. I tried each of the slots and memory modules individually and in various combinations. I even swapped processors with the production machine. The result was that putting memory in slots 1 and 2 worked (showing a total of 16 GB), but any memory in slots 3 or 4 was not recognized. However, all four memory slots in the production machine worked, and I confirmed this with both processors. I contacted MSI and arranged to ship the defective mobo back to them for replacement under warranty. I did not want my file server to be down in the interim, and I had another machine I wanted to upgrade, so I bought a third identical mobo to use. That one had the same problem -- only memory slots 1 and 2 worked. I tested it thoroughly with multiple processors and memory sticks. I sent the defective mobo back to MSI and they sent me a new one. This has the same memory slot problem. So I sent it back. The replacement arrived the other day and shows the same problem. I contacted MSI yet again and they said that nobody else has reported memory slot problems on this board and it must be my processor. So my score so far is, out of six boards of this model, I have: One where all four slots work. One which was dead on arrival. Four where only memory slots 1 and 2 work. Before I tear my other machines apart and start swapping processors again I thought I would ask if anyone else has this exact model motherboard and could confirm that all four memory slots either do or do not work. According to MSI you should be able to just plug a single memory module into any of the slots and it will work (and it does on the one mobo I have which works correctly). If you have not yet used all four slots, this is a good time to test them so you know if you can expand your memory in the future. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

  • Wireless internet became extremely slow on my 27" IMac

    The wireless internet on my Mac became extremely slow recently on my 27" IMac. I don't recall doing anything different other than doing the Apple Software updates which I let it pop up and install automatically. On my Mac Book internet is still fine so I don't think it's the model or the router. I'm not sure where to start digging the cause of this or how to solve it. Looking into the System Preferences on my IMac, it's pretty identical to my MacBook!

  • question about a sata read/write speed

    I'm contemplating biting the bullet for an ssd drive in a server, obviously I know it will be MUCH faster than a regular 7200rpm sata2 3gbps drive. The nice thing about ssd's is often they post the read/write speed but that info isn't available for sata's so I'm just curious to know what a typical read/write speed would be for a seagate 120gb 7200rpm drive. I know it fluctuates from manufacturer and model series but I'm just looking for a guestimate.

  • Can I back-up to partition to restore my computer to factory settings?

    I have a VAIO model VPC-F11JFX/B. I want to restore it to factory settings (instead of formatting it so I can keep the programs it comes with like VAIO Care). I have like 20 GB of data so I can't copy it into my flash drive and it would take up like 7 of my CD's so I can't do that either. So can I make a new partition (called D) and move the files to D from C. Because I don't know if restoring to factory settings is going to wipe the entire drive or just the partition.
