• problm with MANIFEST.MF in jar

  hi I have created jar in the following folder: /usr/local/bin/niidle.jar. And my MANIFEST.MF file is as follows: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Main-Class: com.ensarm.niidle.web.scraper.NiidleScrapeManager Class-Path: hector-0.6.0-17.jar And I verified that,this 'hector-0.6.0-17.jar' file is also present in the folder: /Projects/EnwelibDatedOct13/Niidle/lib/hector-0.6.0-17.jar I don't want to give full class-path name in MANIFEST.MF file,because I have to run this jar on other's machine,so I gave only jar file name 'Class-Path=hector-0.6.0-17.jar' in MANIFEST.MF file. Inspite of mentioning the Class-Path in MANIFEST.MF file, when I run this using command: java -jar /usr/local/bin/niidle.jar arguments... • Combine Search Bar and URL Bar into One (WebView)

  So I'm in the midst of updating my Web Browser app for iOS devices, from the ground up, and I'm trying to implement some more convenient features. One feature that seems to be really popular now, that I have been getting a lot of requests for, is the combination of a Google Search bar and a URL bar in one, like that of the Chrome application. Below is a screenshot of the Google Chrome app, and as you can see, they've made it so you can either enter in a search query like "apple ipad" and it will return a Google search page of 'Apple iPad', or you can enter in a URL "http://apple.com/ipad/" and it will load that URL. I have looked all over the internet, but all I could find were tutorials on how to Search Google with value of the UITextField. I have a feeling that the best way to do this is to probably make a 'check'. Like if the entered value contains 'http://' 'www.' '.com' or no spaces, then load it as a URL, if not then load it in a Google Search page, and then have the webview load up the Google Search page. If anybody could show me to the right direction, that would be great, or even supplying me with some code would be even greater. :) Thanks! If anyone needs part of the code, just ask.

• NUnit for VS has suddenly bombed.. Anyone else experience this?

  I'm getting the following set of errors in a project, that previously worked fine, from NUnit for VS when I try to run either individual or all of the tests in a given solution. Error loading C:\Path to Application\Application\Application.ApplicationTests\bin\Debug\Application.ApplicationTests.dll: The method or operation is not implemented. Error loading C:\Path to Application\Application\Application.FileDetectorTests\bin\Debug\FileDetectorTests.dll: The method or operation is not implemented. Error loading C:\Path to Application\Application\Application.PresentationTests\bin\Debug\Application.PresentationTests.dll: The method or operation is not implemented. Error loading C:\Path to Application\Application\Application.DomainTests\bin\Debug\Application.DomainTests.dll: The method or operation is not implemented. I've verified that each project is setup with the appropriate ProjectTypeGuids for a test project in the Project file. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling NUnit for VS, but have had no luck. Does anyone have any advice as to how I might start troubleshooting this? If I open each individual test project outside of the main solution (that includes all projects, by the way,) and save it as it's own solution, they run just fine. Nothing of note has changed since this stopped working. Thanks! Ian

• Looping and pausing after loading ajax content in Javascript JQuery

  I have what I though was a simple problem to solve (never is!) I'm trying to loop through a list of URL's in a javascript array I have made, load the first one, wait X seconds, then load the second, and continue until I start again. I got the array and looping working, trouble is, however I try and implement a "wait" using setInterval or similar, I have a structural issue, as the loop continues in the background.   I am using a DataGrid in my silverlight project which contains a custom checkbox column. I have binded its command property with a property of my ViewModel class. • Loading .dll/.exe from file into temporary AppDomain throws Exception

  Hi Gang, I am trying to make a Visual Studio AddIn that removes unused references from the projects in the current solution (I know this can be done, Resharper does it, but my client doesn't want to pay for 300 licences). Anyhoo, I use DTE to loop through the projects, compile their assemblies, then reflect over those assemblies to get their referenced assemblies and cross-examine the .csproj file. Problem: since the .dll/.exe I loaded up with Reflection doesn't unload until the app domian unloads, it is now locked and the projects can't be built again because VS tries to re-create the files (all standard stuff). I have tried creating temporary files, then reflecting over them...no worky, still have locked original files (I totally don’t understand that BTW). Now I am now going down the path of creating a temporary AppDomain to load the files into and then destroy. I am having problems loading the files though: The way I understand AddDomain.Load is that I should create and send a byte array of the assembly to it. I do that: FileStream fs = new FileStream(assemblyFile, FileMode.Open); byte[] assemblyFileBuffer = new byte[(int)fs.Length]; fs.Read(assemblyFileBuffer, 0, assemblyFileBuffer.Length); fs.Close(); AppDomainSetup domainSetup = new AppDomainSetup(); domainSetup.ApplicationBase = assemblyFileInfo.Directory.FullName; AppDomain tempAppDomain = AppDomain.CreateDomain("TempAppDomain", null, domainSetup); Assembly projectAssembly = tempAppDomain.Load(assemblyFileBuffer); The last line throws an exception: "Could not load file or assembly 'WindowsFormsApplication1, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. • Design Philosophy Question - When to create new functions

  This is a general design question not relating to any language. I'm a bit torn between going for minimum code or optimum organization. I'll use my current project as an example. I have a bunch of tabs on a form that perform different functions. Lets say Tab 1 reads in a file with a specific layout, tab 2 exports a file to a specific location, etc. The problem I'm running into now is that I need these tabs to do something slightly different based on the contents of a variable. If it contains a 1 I may need to use Layout A and perform some extra concatenation, if it contains a 2 I may need to use Layout B and do no concatenation but add two integer fields, etc. There could be 10+ codes that I will be looking at. Is it more preferable to create an individual path for each code early on, or attempt to create a single path that branches out only when absolutely required. Creating an individual path for each code would allow my code to be extremely easy to follow at a glance, which in turn will help me out later on down the road when debugging or making changes. The downside to this is that I will increase the amount of code written by calling some of the same functions in multiple places (for example, steps 3, 5, and 9 for every single code may be exactly the same. Creating a single path that would branch out only when required will be a bit messier and more difficult to follow at a glance, but I would create less code by placing conditionals only at steps that are unique. I realize that this may be a case-by-case decision, but in general, if you were handed a previously built program to work on, which would you prefer?

  I am writing an ASP application that will serve files to clients through the browser. The files are located on a file server that is available from the machine IIS is running on via a UNC path (\server\some\path). I want to use something like the code below to serve the file. Serving files that are local to the machine IIS is running on is working well with this method, my trouble is being able to serve files from the UNC mapped share: //Set the appropriate ContentType. Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf"; //Get the physical path to the file. string FilePath = MapPath("acrobat.pdf"); //Write the file directly to the HTTP content output stream. Response.WriteFile(FilePath); Response.End(); My question is how I can specify a UNC path for the file name. Also, to access the file share I need to connect with a specific username/password. I would appreciate some pointers on how I can achieve this (either using the approach above or by other means).

• How can I bind Wpf DataGridColumn to an object?

  I want to bind the columns of my WPF DataGrid to some objects in a Dictionary like this: Binding Path=Objects[i] where Objects is my Dictionary of objects, so that each cell will represent an Object element. How can I do that? I suppose that I need to create a template for my cell, which I did, but how to get the result of column binding in my template? I know that by default the content of a DataGridCell is a TextBlock and it's Text property is set through column binding result, but if that result is an object I guess that I have to create a ContentTemplate. How do I do that, as the stuff I tried is not displaying anything. • using jquery selector to change attribute in variable returned from ajax request

  I'm trying to pull in a filename.txt (contains html) using ajax and change the src path in the data variable before I load it into the target div. If I first load it into the div the browser first requests the broken image and I don't want this so I would like to do my processing before I load anything onto the page. I can pull the src values fine but I can't change them. In this example the src values aren't changed. Is there a way to do this with selectors or can they only modify DOM elements?   Hi, i'm having a problem with dynamically loaded forms - instead of using the action attribute of the newly loaded form, my jquery code is still using the action attribute of the first form loaded. • parsing the output of the 'w' command?

  I'm writing a program which requires knowledge of the current load on the system, and the activity of any users (it's a load balancer). This is a university assignment, and I am required to use the w command. I'm having a hard time parsing this command because it is very verbose. Any suggestions on what I can do would be appreciated. This is a small part of the program, and I am free to use whatever method i like. The most condensed version of w which still has the information I require is `w -u -s -f' which produces this: 10:13:43 up 9:57, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00 USER TTY IDLE WHAT fsm tty7 22:44m x-session-manager fsm pts/0 0.00s w -u -s -f So out of that, I am interested in the first number after load average and the smallest idle time (so i will need to parse them all). My background process will call w, so the fact that w is the lowest idle time will not matter (all i will see is the tty time). Do you have any ideas? Thanks (I am allowed to use alternative unix commands, like grep, if that helps).

It seems that in my unit tests that service instance could not access the config file (null pointer) for its setting while it could access that setting when I run "run-app". • file cretaed using exec could not be accessed immediately after creation?

  HI I'm using exec in php to execute a command and it will create a .png file in a temp folder.. After creating that i'm trying to open that file and read contents and process them,, but i end up file could not read error.. • UnauthorizedAccessException when running desktop application from shared folder

  I created a desktop application using VS 2008. When I run it locally, all works well. I shared my output folder (WITHOUT allowing network users to change my files) and ran my exe from another Vista computer on our intranet. When running the shared exe, I receive "System.UnauthorizedAccessException" when trying to read a file. How can I give permission to allow reading the file? Should I change the code? Should I grant permission to the application\folder on the Vista computer? how? Notes: I do not use ClickOnce. the application should be distributed using xcopy. On Upload button click page flow: Page load - AddScriptToPage is executed (registers scripts with no columns) Then AddScriptToPage in btnclick event is executed (registers scripts with columns) Why is this script not getting registered even though it is executed on vb code on uploadclick event? And why does it show up after another button click and not original button click that calls this event?
